It's 6.52 p.m. in the afternoon here Wednesday and I'm just at my desk working. Got done with my normal 1.09 a.m. meeting, which happens at 6 p.m. here. I'm working kind of U.S. hours, early ones, but like 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. West Coast time or something. There's an immense amount to report, but most importantly, I don't know if you caught a report a couple weeks ago about the neighbor I met. He was a soldier in the Ukrainian army here visiting his wife and family on vacation from the army. His wife and son are refugees, I understand, from Ukraine. And he was in the actual fort in the army. I saw some wires out on their patio and went and knocked on the door and was welcomed into their home. It was really, really cool. He gave me a couple QSL cards, I have all QSL cards, QSL cards. And they're QSL cards. I don't deal with them too much, so forgive me. But I heard a rattle in the hallway just now, and I saw the family loading up on the elevator, and it was really nice to say goodbye to him. I apologize, I don't know his name, but I have a couple call signs that he operated under. U.R.3.I.S.D. as well as U.T.3.U.Q.J. He's big as f*** me. But anyways, it was kind of an emotional exchange in front of the elevator there. I said, are you shipping out? And he said, yep, I'm going back to Ukraine, dude. And I'm like, I didn't know what to say. The words that came out of my mouth were God bless. And I said, keep up the good work and safe travels. We hugged in quite a moment for me there. But yeah, we've been having a ton of fun around Europe. We've been based in Amsterdam. And speaking of the Tour de France, I went to the Grand Apart, believe it or not, in Lille on July 5th, quite something. I'm headed back to Paris this weekend to catch some more of the action on the final stage, I believe. And I'm being hosted by Internet friends in Paris not too far from the Eiffel Tower, honestly. So pretty cool and exciting times. I'll head back home on the 2nd of August. So sadly, I won't be around for the picnic. I'm going to miss another wonderful event. But maybe we'll take something in August or September. KI 7 UREAS 73 Man, I am so jealous. I'm having a wonderful and safe time over there in Europe. And yeah, I love Amsterdam. What a fun, goofy place. And yeah, lots of good memories in there. And yeah, you're coming back on our anniversary, as a matter of fact. So yeah, that's kind of cool. And we'll have to be getting together and get the stories when you get back, for sure. So take care and 73, and we will catch you later. All right, who else is out there that would like to check in? I am listening for you. Come ahead. KI 7 FWB OK, I got Matt with a recheck and I got FWB with a recheck. So I'm going to start with FWB. What you got, Bill? Take it away. Thanks, Dave. I have a book, about a 300 page book on guitars that have been wanting to give it to JSF. He's still listening. Since he's not coming to the Pink Vigids or anybody that he knows that's going to be there, they can grab that book and pass it on to him. Otherwise, it'll be here before he gets it. KI 7 FWB Well, we will find out. I would imagine there will definitely be somebody there that can pass it along, be it Jack or whoever. And I'm sure we can make arrangements for that. Hopefully somebody will chime in there and say, yes, I can do that. So we shall see. In the meantime, back to Matt. KI 7 UAF with a recheck. Go ahead. I think you had Tim in there, Dave. You made a mistake, Tim, for me. I can't think of his call sign right now. But Tim, KI 7 UAF. Oh, OK. I probably was, Tim. My apologies. There you go. And Matt, by the way, it's really cool to meet that fellow from the Ukraine. And that's very cool. So, hey, you two here. Have a great day. Have a great time over there. And I can't wait to hear the rest of the stories. So 73, Tim, KI 7 UAF, is that you? Yes, indeed it is. I'm here at my favorite Arco station, South River, actually kind of by Mill Creek. I can't remember what the name of the street is. It means exit, I think it's 1964 street or something. Anyway, I hope everyone likes hot weather because that's what we got in store today. I found out I'm going to be going to South Korea for a short visit. We've got a customer that's going to visit a factory my company has there. It's kind of silly because all their production has been in China. And, you know, labor is cheap in China, all the suppliers are in China, etc, etc, etc, etc. That's why the company is in China. But there's this big push, you know, move things out of China. We don't want to have things sent from China. This can't be labeled China. There's regulations. There's industry standards and so forth. So, a couple years ago our company bought a very small company in South Korea. I think it has something like 10 employees. Not set up for manufacturing at all. And we're trying to turn that into like a manufacturing center and impress all of our customers. Oh yeah, we can ship from South Korea. Nope, not only ship from South Korea, it has to be made in South Korea. So, anyway, it's kind of a charade. One of the problems with South Korea, of course, is that everything is more expensive. Labor is more expensive, everything, etc, etc. So, it's not going to save anybody any money to be shipping stuff from South Korea. But we're playing this game. I'm not trying to get political. I'm just saying it's international stuff, you know. So, anyway, I'll be going there. In August, mid-August is probably about the 17th or so for three or four days. Because our customer wants to visit the site and do a site tour, which I hope we can convince him that some activity is actually happening there. I know they aren't expanding the factory so that you can't actually produce stuff there. But it's not a simple or easy process. Anyway, it's a beautiful sunny day. Everyone get up there, wear your sunscreen or hat or sunglasses or whatever you need to protect yourself. KI7ZI. Hey, Tim. Well, hopefully it'll be a profitable and good trip to South Korea. That'd be cool. Lots of friends from there and I've known lots of people from there. So, there you go. Well, 73s and I hope that works out well for you. Yeah, international sales right now are really... Most of the equipment my wife works with is from overseas somewhere. You know, from Canada to Europe or you name it. And they're running into the same thing. It's what a can of warm assistance become. So, there you go. Well, 73s and we will catch you later. And this is Kilo Delta 7, Papa Whiskey Bravo 8, the High Desert Pirate Radio. It's 10 a.m. I'm listening for more radio check-ins, comments, complaints or anything for the good of the net. Kilo Kilo 7, November Yankie Whiskey, Dave. KK 7, NYW Dave, I've got you. Let's go back to Brooks. Brooks, what about this rain? I tell you, that's kind of a neat thing, isn't it? How are you? K9, BDC, Brooks, go ahead. Well, good afternoon Jack and everyone. K9, BDC, Brooks here, mobile on 405 South, headed into Bellevue from up north here. Yeah, the rain is okay for now. I'm going to say I woke up and I didn't even think to check the weather, so I didn't know it was going to rain. I'm glad the dog towel was still by the back door this morning because I had to dry their feet off when they came in. And then when I left to go to work, it definitely smelled like rain. So that was kind of one of those things where they say smell is one of the senses that is most heightened memory. You walk out and you smell that and you're just like, ooh, it smells like fall or something. I'm not really sure. But anyway, I would say the rain is much needed, so I'm okay with that. I do hope it gets a little bit nicer for the weekend if the rain is shining. Outside of that, yeah, just trying to get the home office ready for the renovation that's going on this weekend, the popcorn ceiling removal and stuff. I've got half of the room taken apart, my desk with my work computer and my personal computer, and all the radios are still in there. And the file cabinet is still in there, so those things need to come out. So that's why I take all that stuff out tonight. And then tomorrow, tomorrow going to the Seahawks game. And then this weekend we've got the board meeting coming up and the Rain or Shine coming up, so all kinds of stuff going on. So keep it busy in the corporate household. Alright, well that's all I've got for now, Jack. Thanks for doing it. Okay, nice. Alright, well we are going to be playing you at the Rain or Shine Sunday to find out just what it was like to be there in the 100 section down at the stadium to see that Seahawks preseason opener with Pete Channell opposing with Geno Smith. Oh man, that's going to be a great grudge match. You know, even though it's preseason, each team is going to definitely be playing their best. Oh, that's going to be a good one. Alright, well Brooks, you have a great day. Good luck with depopcording the ceilings there and getting that all painted grey. I know Rebecca was kind of upset, but she said, grey, grey. That was, I was cracking myself up. Anyway, alright Brooks, you have a safe day out there on the road and hopefully not too much oil is coming up with that rain out there. Alright, well let's go find out Mike is by KB8 BMI."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-07T09:23:37+00:00","id":14989,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14988,"text":" This is James. Good morning everyone. Good morning Michael. I hope the Bigfoot event goes off well. I hope you have good weather, which is to say not hot, but not rainy. And don't burn. Don't burn. No, no. I don't know if he's listening, but I do want to thank Gregor. And I forget his call. What is his call? Where are you? I wrote it down somewhere. Anyway, I was having some problems running a shell script to reinstall some software. And I had an apprenthese in the wrong spot. It was just like, it was, yeah. It was just on the wrong side of another character. And so he asked me what my error was, so I just sent him the line that the error was on that I couldn't see. I was blind and I couldn't see. And so I sent it to him and he, like, you know, five seconds later, oh, parent is in the wrong spot. I'm going, oh, yeah, you're right. So I moved it and by golly, if that didn't solve the problem, I said, well, you know, it's always good to have the good eyes people. So good on Gregor. And we thank you. Because I don't know why. I mean, it's like, and I went back to look at the original source. It's like, how did I do that? I mean, it's like I copied for Beta. I just lifted it right off. Oh, well. Crazy, crazy. But I love doing that stuff because it keeps my brain engaged. That was good. Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful day. I got to do some banking here this morning or the bank is going to thrash me. And there you go. That's what I'm up to. I'm going to go to vetco tomorrow. I need a quarter inch plug. A little, not a, three, what is it? It's not the, it used to be, you know, you used to use those quarter inch audio jacks and then it became the micro version. And that's right for my CW paddle. Cause that's what the new radio wants. It doesn't take the ginormous audio plug. The other one, that's what I need for my paddle. Get one of those. And then I'll be off to the fruit market. But that's for tomorrow. Today I'm home. Yay. So anyway, everyone have a great day. It's great skies now, but we might get some sunshine. Maybe. We might get some rain. Be well, be safe, don't burn. And because I'm learning a new radio, RTFM everyone. WQ7H back to Bothellville. All right. Thank you, James. Well, you covered, covered a lot of topic and the, uh, getting the, uh, the net warmed up for the day. All right. This is W7VAS with the nine o'clock net. So why, why is it that a paddle or a key is a quarter inch jack? Um, headphones used to be quarter inch and now they're, they're eighth inch or whatever size that is. And, uh, that, uh, that took a long time coming, but, uh, modern, modern radio, um, like mine here is a quarter inch jack on the back. Um, two of them, I guess, one for a paddle, one for a key. Anyway, strange. Let's see, what would you call that? Um, history, certainly. Tradition, that's the word. Okay. Um, thank you, James. And down to Prineville, KD7, Papa Whiskey Bravo. Morning, Dave. Good morning, Bill on the net. Hey, great to hear you this morning. And, uh, yeah, kind of Karen there, of course. And let's see, uh, well, we got a starting to be sunny kind of day. Kind of started out kind of cloudy, but, uh, things are clearing off. We're supposed to be up in about 76 or 77 this afternoon for a high. So actually a pretty nice day shaping up here in the high desert. Eq is down at two. And so, yeah, it's really pleasant. Um, let's see, Sam's down in bed this morning. She's off doing a site survey for work. And that one of the, whatever the hospital or, uh, some kind of a facility that she's installing in there. And any rate, um, so, yeah, she's off. Um, I've got a bunch of little things to do and some shopping to do. And then it's into the shop and get some work done on some guitars. And, uh, I got a couple of rocks I'm cutting. They're kind of fun. They're landscape Jasper type material and kind of fun to see what's in these things. Because you never know when you cut it open. So kind of fun to play with that. And, uh, other than that, um, just kind of hanging out. So there you go. Well, I'll say 73. So now I keep it kind of short and thanks for doing the net and I'll turn it back. Katie seven Papa whiskey. Bravo, Dave, the high desert pirate radio. All right. Thank you, Dave. And, uh, you know, James said something that about, uh, keep keeping your brain active. And I know you do with all the stuff that you got going on. I, uh, I can't believe you're doing, uh, doing nothing. Yeah, that's interesting. And apparently it's been proven in the medical field that keeping the brain active keeps things like dementia at bay. All right. So doing a site survey. And, uh, that's a, that's a good thing to do before you start installing big equipment, like, like she, uh, sells. And, uh, that was fascinating when we got together a few years ago when she was describing that stuff. And that was, uh, yeah, fascinating. And I see that system. I don't know if there are competitors or if it's just that one company that makes it, but I see systems like that, um, in various places. All right. This is the nine o'clock for a Thursday morning for Jenkins, please. All star note. Six, two, two, two located in Shelton, Washington morning tree. Um, KG seven Fox kilo Bravo. Get behind the curve. They're not a good thing. Next check in, please. Okay. KG seven. Randy and Salt Lake City. Okay. in, uh... I may not have gotten that right. Um, KG7, FWB. Good morning, Bill. And next check-in, please."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-06T12:33:38+00:00","id":14746,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14745,"text":" I've seen some of those countries there and then in other places I've seen where they've taken like a piece of bamboo into welding rod or you know coat hanger or whatever, whatever they can get their hands on and if they have the metal and they cut it to length it'll work so it's kind of neat so yeah but I think somebody commented he forgot the can of Spam, the Spam can. So but yeah I just thought that was really neat I got the biggest kick out of that. So anyway that's about it we're just going to finish lunch here and then start heading up to Seattle and see what's going on at the port there and then after that we'll be headed back. So Jack we'll pass it back to you everyone have a good afternoon enjoy the much needed rain this is KVA VMI in the, well we're out in the woods we're in the yard here in Lazy 730. Alright Mike hey have a safe day today yeah the rain is really nice especially after all that heat wave or two we had up here. Well hey you know and the crazy antenna I'm so glad that I convinced him he's got to do it again because he just makes the craziest, funnest, funnest, most fun, okay whatever, more fun, more fun antennas and I tell you he's made so many in the past. So last year I think it was last year or the year before I challenged him on air I said alright Rich challenge time here's what I want to see for crazy antennas and I gave him three items that I knew he had to have around his house there because it's a family house there he's been there for a long time and sure enough he had it I think he produced it that night SWR low 1.3 1.4 something like that and he was just so happy and so was I so hey you know you might want to challenge him maybe send him a note or get him on air at some point and say alright Rich how about this here's your item and see if you can't do it and he had two big, big, well I guess they're a small cross cut saws he had that he made one up yesterday I think that was yesterday's and it sounds great. Anyway alright well Mike hey thanks for checking good to hear you my friend let's go find out what the heck is going on down with the high desert pirate in Prilliantville Katie 7P WFB hi Dave. Well good afternoon Jack and long time no talk to well at any rate I was just curious if you had watched any of the videos of the Skookum Chuck Narrows there in the tidal currents there at Eggmont. You know I'm still looking for those videos I don't see them unless you texted me I have not checked my texts in the last 40 minutes or so but did you email them to me now I can't remember. No I didn't but if you just Google Skookum Chuck which is S K O O I don't remember how to spell it but if you just Google Skookum Chuck they'll show up a whole bunch of stuff out there from surfers to kayakers to you name it have posted some really amazing videos of that area and yeah and a really big tide there it'll run 18 feet and tide change and literally you know 30, 40 miles of fjord all have to drain through this little half mile wide narrows and it is absolutely spectacular. Currents up in the 15, 16 knot range they've got all kinds of like if you Google tugboat rollover that's right there at the Skookum Chuck and that roll the tug and barge over literally upside down there in the rapids so it's kind of interesting you might take a look see if you can find it I don't know the exact site to be honest with you but give it a shot. So anyway not much more going on here I'm just finishing up shopping and thinking about lunch here so I'm going to let it go but hey have a great day and 73 K D 7 Papa Whiskey Bravo Day the High Desert Pirate Radio. Alright Dave yeah I'm on a couple of websites now alright I see here this is fantastic and of course the Sunshine Coast is so lovely up there oh man I love the Sunshine Coast that's a really nice place okay this is great thank you Dave hey thank you for driving by I know you said you might do it look at this you did it thank you so much say hi to the sand foot okay alright 12 19 p.m. I'm Jack KI 7RB for the new net midweek we had Dave on the nine o'clock net this morning right here is the net there nice job let's continue on and see who else is out there for the new net if you'd like to join us come ahead call sign a name. Hello Julianne 7 Romeo Alfibrato Sammy Rainy Camino Island I'll be in today I have a PSA. Alright I've got Kami I've got John with a PSA and he is in alright John your audio is a bit low I turned you up a bit here but stand by please and I apologize to Dave out there Bonnie Link let's get back to him now with his report sorry there Dave KK 7NYW how are you? Well Jack I'm good it's good to hear you this morning or afternoon I guess really I had faith in you I've I've heard you miss people before and then catch it right away so I wasn't too worried about it I had the distinct pleasure this morning of taking my daughter to the airport she's on a plane to Florida to visit a friend and so I was out on the roads early and they weren't too bad at that point so it wasn't too bad a trip of course the airport is always crazy and we've had quite a bit of rain down here in the south end since then so it's a good day to be inside I've been playing with some non-resident antennas and so I had kind of a mess out in my garage and I took the drizzly day time to clean my garage up a little bit so that's what I've been up to I've got the house to myself today so I might turn the stereo on after lunch and listen to a little music I usually don't do that while other people are in the house because my wife is a TV watcher not a music lover so I don't usually do that when she's around anyway that's about all that's going on here this is KK7NYW back to net Alright well I like to do that too yeah if Carolyn and Jacob are out of the house sometimes I'll just put on some nice house cleaning music and if you know what I mean by that I'm talking full resolution concert volume window rattles you know that kind of thing so if you're doing that what kind of music do you like to play? Well my favorite genre of music of anything is blues and blues based rock and roll so I have a fair collection of that on vinyl and so when I'm by myself I crank her up and put the vinyl on other than that I stay a little more mellow with the wife and the daughter around Yeah a common phrase heard around here sometimes is turn that down or turn that down dad Okay oh yeah that's a great thing alright and you got it on vinyl too yeah alright nice alright be sure you keep that vinyl nice and spiffy clean too Alright you got a great day there Dave thanks for checking in always good to hear you there Alright let's go figure out what the heck is going on with Cammie thanks for filling in for Paul last night nicely done KJ7RAB hi Cammie Well hello there Jack and everyone out there on the net Cammie here KJ7RAB Yeah it had been a minute since I filled in for one of the 9 o'clock nets so I kept catching myself wanting to say the new net because that's what I'm accustomed to hosting but it was fun and I should do that more it's a little bit late for a school night even especially when I've got additional work to do after the net and I did last night but I also never sleep so you know it's not really that big of an issue I'd like to hear what your go to music is Jack when you've got it cranked up my music is I like lo-fi I like music that sounds terrible I love the old console stereos that are scratchy and you know you put the LP on there and it just sounds terrible and Robert's the exact opposite he's the hi-fi guy and he even did you know stereo competitions when he was younger and so he just kind of rolls his eyes when I tell him I want one of those old console record players that sound terrible and they're also enormous and take up a ton of space I will have one one of these days so mark my words so I've been looking for one so if anybody's got one kicking around they don't want or if they see one out in the wild let me know I'm in the market for one of those things in the meantime I've got this little record player that I picked up at one of the swap meets I think it was the antique radio swap meet that's coming up soon it looks like a spaceship I think they even call it the UFO it's just a little round dome kind of thing and it's portable so we can take it camping and we do we take vinyl camping and spin records on that little UFO thing now I want to go spin some records so yeah I like music that sounds terrible all different kinds of whatever records I can find at the thrift store and then of course I'm on a big yacht rock kick right now so hashtag yacht rock KJ7RAB back to net control what a genre I just love that yacht rock boy I tell you the genre is the main ones and then the alternates and the sub-genres are so many good things out there well I like I'm not necessarily a lo-fi guy I'm like a hi-fi guy I like really great music I don't like it all at concert volume but sometimes it's just so much fun to be cleaning the house and hear something in the background or the foreground or the medium ground or everywhere else because it is so loud but I just love it I love that it cannot distort though distortion no good no good do not like distortion so anyway yeah it just depends on what I'm into right that second so anyway I like to listen to music by mood Alright Cami great to hear you and I love your UFO record player that is cool I don't think I've seen that no I think I did I think you put up a post one time that showed what it looked like it's pretty neat Alright have a great afternoon Cami thank you for coming by K9JB let's head up to Kamejo Island in just a moment at 1226 PM this is the new Net-on PSRG 2 meter machine here in Seattle, Washington let's go talk to John Kamejo Island K9JB has a PSA for us"},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-08T09:06:00+00:00","id":15253,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15252,"text":" Hey, good morning everybody and welcome to the Not Wednesday morning edition of the Puget Sound Repeater Group's 9 a.m. net. Hey, this net meets every day at 9 a.m. noon and 9 p.m. on the PSRG Repeater in Seattle, Washington. That's WW7PSR. And we're at 146.96 MHz with a negative offset and a PL tone of 103.5. So hey, all you hams out there, this is a social net. It's an open net for all hams with a valid license and you can talk about anything you want as long as it's user friendly. And yeah, hey, set up your radios, come in and join us. If you're on the internet, we'd love to hear from you too. We are All Star and Echo Link connected. And please don't forget, this is a directed net. So please remember to go through net control to contact other stations. That makes things a little easier. And hey, this is Kilo Delta 7 Papa Whiskey Bravo Dave, the high desert pirate radio down here in Central Oregon coming to you via All Star. And hey, I'm standing in for Rockin' Ron the Wildman NR7-0 this morning. And so he is off and I have the net. So there you go. You have to put up with me one more time this week. So there you go. Alright, let's see. The way this works, we're going to build a list. I'll take names and call signs from oh, half a dozen or so check-ins. Go back to the top of the list that I make and ask for a report from each of those stations. When you give your report, please remember to keep the three minutes or less. That's the time out of the repeater and it lets us get as many check-ins as we can in a timely fashion. And mission critical, when you give your report, please remember to end with your call sign. That tells me you're done with your report and it satisfies our dear friends at the FCC. Alright, let me let it drop for just a second. Okay, let's see. There were some, oh, IOs are certainly welcome if you don't really want to have anything to say and want to check in. But let me know you're listening. Just tell me your IO or in and out and I will understand. So hey, that's the way this game works. I usually start out with short horizon stations. That's mobiles, IOs and low power stations. And we'll get this thing underway. Then we'll have some internet stations. We'll open up to everybody. Of course, none of that is carved in stone. So hey, I'm just looking forward to hearing from you. So with that, hey, let's get started. I've got some announcements this morning. There's some fun stuff on the announcement list, which I call the news from the high desert. And hey, I'll do that after the first round or two depending on how slow things get. And hey, let's get things rocking and rolling here. Hey, it's time. I'm looking for short horizon stations. Come ahead. KL7 DZQ, Kurt, IO. Hey, Kurt, I've got you on the list with an IO this morning. And thanks for coming by, saying hi and have a happy Friday. TGIF. Dave, remember it's Friday. I've got to remember it's Friday. Hey, there you go. Next station, please. Kilo, Kilo 7, Zulu, Romeo, Yankee, Robert. Good morning, Robert. I've got you on the list. And next check-in, please."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-09T09:18:51+00:00","id":15465,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15464,"text":" Thanks for your report and good on you for experimenting with your clear node. Well, you know, that's one of those figures that I always remember because it's 28 degrees Charlie is 82 degrees Foxtrot so you just invert the numbers and you've got it right on and the two scales cross at minus 40 And I don't ever want to live anywhere where that happens. So there you go That's my story Of temperature. There you go Yeah, we got some warm temperatures coming in here for sure I know that the Willamette Valley is gonna be up in the hundreds But I think we're only gonna get up into the upper 90s in the next couple of days so we'll see today's big project we are going down to the County Fair Creek County Fair and Yeah, yeah talk about critical reports You know Sam wants to go to the 4-h Auction which is really fun because you know, these kids have been raising these you know everything from from cows the steers the to turkeys and chickens rabbits you name it and the fun one was last year we were there and a the blue ribbon Turkey Tom Sold for 275 dollars and it was a 27 pound turkey and that's per pound They were paying for this thing so think about that for a little bit that's one expensive Thanksgiving dinner, but actually they'll use it as breeding stock. I'm sure but yeah, holy cow $275 on a 27 pound turkey Wow anyway Yeah There's some serious buck getting passed along there Thank you so much for doing the net sounds great and we will catch you later Everybody have a great Saturday Katie seven papa whiskey bravo Dave the high desert pirate radio Hey Dave great to hear from you and thanks for your check-in 73 to you to you and Sam there you guys have a great weekend and stay cool that A thermal trough is headed our way And we make it like you said up there into the 80s and 90s Fahrenheit Okay, Kilo Delta seven papa whiskey Bravo and Kilo Delta seven papa whiskey alpha 73s 33s 88s all the numbers you guys have a great weekend. And we're we're gonna have some hot temperatures here tomorrow supposed to be in the Maybe we're gonna hit 90 I don't know but those are Spokane temperatures the forecast for Spokane and here we're usually five degrees cooler than Spokane so We'll see. But anyway, it's still gonna be high. We still have some more hot weather left. So I'm loving it Anyway, back to you there Dana and Teresa and everybody have a good weekend. Or maybe he'll come back. We'll see. He can always check in later. Hey, how's Wolfman doing, Jack? KI7, RMU, that's rock and roll! Well, Eddie, good morning, Dave. Nice to hear you, nice to hear Rich and everybody else on the Friday Net. Appreciate you sitting in for Ron. And that's what I wanted to talk about, you know. Ron hardly ever gets back to the Northwest these days, but he's here, I guess he's headed out today. I think they're going up north on a cruise or some crazy thing. But man, I hope he has a great time. But you know, he doesn't have time to work in a visit with us, except maybe here on the Net. But I just wish him well. It is awesome that he's having all this time off. And out of Scorchville, Arizona, N58Q. Mike checked in yesterday on the new Net and he said, 117 today here in Chandler there. Oh, yikes. Okay, no, thank you. So Ron's making a good move, get out of town. Anyway, yeah, he'll miss the big ice cream social Net on Sunday, but you know, we'll see him another time, I hope. Anyway, yeah, it sounds like Rich had a great time at the museum yesterday. That is awesome. And a private tour by W70H. Can't go wrong there. Anyway, all right, well Dave, thank you for filling in for Ron's day. Doing a great job as usual. And I hope you and Sam have a great weekend. Talk to you all at noon. KI7RMU. Hey, Zach, yep. And we're headed north next week, so that's why I'm having a gym that's taking my Net next week. Yeah, we're headed up to the little town of Egmont, as you know. Egmont. In the BC Coast there. So, looking forward to that. I'm sorry about why I'm going, but on the other hand, you know, it'd be great to catch up with the family up there and all that fun stuff. That's, yeah, Doug and I went to college together. We're an engineering school, lecture, double E together. Oregon State University, back in the 70s. November, Quebec, November. So there you go. Wow, that's a long time ago, huh? What can I say? Anyway, 73's Jack and we will catch you later. And I'm having a ball doing Ron's Net, as always. I hope I'm confusing people that aren't freaking out that it's Wednesday. Oh well. Little time shift there, right? Okay. Catch you later, Jack. K7, have a great day. 73. All right, this is Kilo Delta 7 Papa Whiskey Bravo Day. The High Desert Pirate Radio, as you know, standing in for Ron in our 7.0 this morning. And never refuse 7 Oreos. I just love that. Anyway, just real peaceful in here. So not much else going on. So we should have no coffee yet or anything like that. So that's in the future. So back to you. Thank you for doing that, AB6ME. Hey, Jeff. Great to hear from you. And hopefully we'll see you tonight on the Zoom queue. You betcha. And yeah, I've been kind of half way and kind of paying a little bit of attention to the chirp de france. And yeah, it's all interesting. Yeah. So there you go. Well, 73s. And yeah, we'll catch you tonight. And have a wonderful rest of your Wednesday. All right, who else is out there that says Keala Delta 7, Papa Whiskey Bravo, Dana Menendez, and Cedric Williams. What a fantastic day yesterday. You and Robert really tore it up on net control. Fantastic. Go ahead, KJ7RAB. Well, good morning to you, Jack, and everyone out there on the net. Cami here, KJ7RAB. Yeah, it was so much fun. And speaking of tearing it up on the net, what about Madeline and the 9 a.m. net? Holy moly, she did amazing. It was so much fun to listen to her host as we were driving in. And then seeing everybody in person, that was fantastic. The weather couldn't have been better. And the spot that you chose, Jack, was perfect. Tons of shade. I didn't get sunburned, so that's also a plus. And then, yeah, meeting John in person was fantastic. You know, he's someone that I've spoken to on the radio for some time but just never had the opportunity to meet in person. So, John, thank you so much for being there and hanging out with us. It was a lot of fun. And then we had a meal with Sebastian and Ping afterwards and then made the long trek home. And I have loads of dishes to do now. I didn't feel like doing them when I got home, so I'll do those later today. It's going to be hot today, Jack. I've got the fan going. Robert said it's going to be like 90, which is probably going to push it up over 100 in my office. So I might need to figure something else out or I might need to go work somewhere else when it pushes up that hot in here. I don't think I could handle that. Thanks again for everything that you do. What an amazing event yesterday. So much fun. Yeah, let's get another one calendar. Seems like everyone's up for it. KJ7RAB, back to net control. Cami, what do you think of this? Now, I don't think the people down at the convenience store would necessarily like this, but you know, they always have that big old ice bin outside the store. Maybe do the work today from the ice bin. What do you think? You probably just tie up the lid that pops up and then just sit in there on the ice. What do you think? I think that's a great idea. I'll let you know how that goes. That makes me think of, what day was it? Saturday, I think I went down to a little vintage shop on the main street here. And nobody has air conditioning, Jack. So they have the door open, they had a big fan going. A family with these two little boys came in and the little boys immediately ran over to the fan and were standing right there in front of it and just cracked me up because I think that's what all of us want to do. But they just ran over and did that immediately. I so related to that. KJ7RAB, back to you. Well, that's because the kids are fearless. You can't embarrass me. I'm a kid. Watch out. Get away from that fan, buddy. I want a fan in front of it. Oh, yeah. Oh, that's so cute. Well, I totally get it. You could order one of those industrial fans from McMaster Car or one of the big industrial companies. They have those fans that are like 4, 5, 6 feet high. Or the ones they use on the Hollywood movies. Those things are massive. Oh my God, that would be perfect up there. Of course, your office would be in the next door neighbor's house in about 10 minutes. So maybe not a good idea there either. Well, I'm full of bad ideas, so don't listen to me. What am I talking about? Cami, great to see you. Thank you so much. Glad you and Sebastian Pang and Robert had a great time after the net yesterday. What a fun time that must have been. All right, talk to you soon. KK7VNI, Andrew Grautbot. Thank you. KJ7BWB, the high desert pirate. Let's go to Prineville now. Dave, good morning. Good morning, Jack and everyone on the net. Sounds like you had an absolutely awesome new net yesterday. The Rain or Shine net and the Ice Cream Social and all that. Sounds like great fun. Sorry we couldn't have been there. But we'll be up there on Wednesday evening, so there you go. What can I say? Let's see, other than that, I'm still just kind of working through things, trying to figure out what all we're going to take to Canada with us and all that fun stuff. And yeah, kind of looking forward to the trip up there. I haven't seen these friends for a long time, so it'll be fun. Especially with their kids and all their kids. So wow, that says it all. And so yeah, looking forward to it. Got some work to do in the shop today. I got to get to where I'm still playing around with and working on and doing some stuff on it. And a little bit of shopping to do. And then of course tomorrow I'm going to be spending all day down in Bend. And so yeah, getting the truck to the trip. And unfortunately this is a big one, so it's like they're going to change all the differential oils and all that fun stuff as well. Not just the quick oil change type thing. It's going to be a long, long afternoon. And we're already at 83 degrees here, so yeah, warm day showing up. We're going to be right up in the high 90s today and high 90s tomorrow. So I was thinking I could go wander around Bend but not when it's 98 or 99 degrees out. I don't think so. Oh well. Guess I'll take a good book and some crossword puzzles and bide my time. Anyway I'll take the computer and see if I can get online and connect All Star or Echo Link and check in there. Might be kind of fun maybe to get in on the new net tomorrow. We'll see. Sometimes I can get in and sometimes I can't. We'll see. Anyway thanks for doing the net this morning Jack and everybody have a great week and we will look forward to talking to you soon. Okay D7 Papa Whiskey Bravo Dave, the High Desert Pirate Radio. Alright well as part of that safety check the auto shops usually do when you take it in for oil changes or fluid changes, that kind of thing. Do have them check the air conditioners too. Because and this is why you already said it's going to be like 90. I don't know where you get your weather from. I just pulled this up. Dave it says currently 75 and sunny in Prineville. Today 102 degrees is the high blazing sunshine, very hot, breezy this afternoon, danger of dehydration, heat stroke if outside for extended periods of time, Tuesday 102, very hot with hazy sun, danger and all that stuff right. So I don't know it seems like a little bit of a difference between the two. Of course you can stay inside as much as possible anyway. So I don't know what do you think is that 102? Did you hear that anywhere else? I have and I've also seen anything from 97 to about 103 so depends on which model you look at. Yeah it's going to be a warm one that's for sure. And it's not going to cool off too much tonight so usually things are really chilly up here in the nights in the high desert. But no tonight it's not supposed to be very chilly so oh well. We have air conditioning it's not a big deal so now we keep the house shaded so having all the solar panels on the roof gives you that insulated layer up there and it really helps keep the house cooler in the hot weather. So that's kind of nice I gotta say. So with that I'll turn it back in 73s and we'll catch you later. K-D 7 Papa Whiskey Bravo Dave the high desert pirate radio. Alright and to your point there you have 57 degrees tonight. That is the low 57 56. Tomorrow I tell you you could have a midnight picnic or a little snack or something. No problem there just light light clothing. Anyway take care Dave have a great time and I know you'll probably roll through Seattle I think you said about Wednesday so have a good trip and have a nice time with your friends. Alright we'll talk to you later say hi to Sam. Alright let's see who else is next if you'd like to come join us all I need is your name and call for the 9 o'clock at 9 38 I'm Jack KI 7R Mute come in call to find a name."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T09:32:29+00:00","id":16148,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16147,"text":" Well, in my house when I was growing up there was a... Excuse me. And because anyway, when I was growing up there was one Norwegian in the house and one Swedish. Dad was Norwegian and mother was Swedish, but always known as Swedish pancakes. And I haven't had those since I was a kid. They were delicious. But, uh, yeah. I don't know if they had Swedish pancakes in Norway or not. Anyway, that's it for me. KG7WOI. Oh, that's hilarious. Well, that is really cool. Your dad was Norwegian and your mom was Swedish, so they were always Swedish pancakes. Alright, well hey, maybe we can have Bill run out of a plate of pancakes to eat from Pete's there. Oh, boy, that would be a crazy adventure, wouldn't it? Alright, John, you take care. Once again, thank you so much for coming out today. Or yesterday, what am I saying? It seems like today already. Alright, well let's go find out. We had Io from KM7BD0. Thank you so much. Let's see who else is out there. This is 9 o'clock here on the PSRG 9 a.m. net. And who's out there? If you'd like to join us, call, sign, and name. Comment? Alright, we're in between. Let's get Bill's comment. KG7FWB. Uh, yeah, Jack, mine didn't have powdered sugar. It was just the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries on top and devonshire cream, which really makes it good. Back to you, KG7FWB. Holy smokes! Wow, boy, those are some fancy Swedish pancakes. Uh, calorie count? Any idea? Or did that break your calculator? The short answer is I didn't care. Back to you. Alright, well I wondered about that. That's not only a short answer, that is the correct answer. Thank you very much, Bill. Alright, that's funny. Alright, so we had Michael drop by. Looks like he's a new AMKM7BD0 with an I. Oh, Michael, we'd like to have you come back at some point and say hi to another net. Nice to hear you there. From Coopville, that's great. KM7BD0. Well, we got kind of a rainy, drizzly kind of morning here. We did have a bit of a thunderstorm last night, but it was well off to the east of us. And so tonight, well, this afternoon, they're saying more thunderstorms possible and some rain and that kind of thing. So like can you say, it's a little bit cooler out. We're only up to about 70 degrees now. So and our height is supposed to be in the low 80s. So definitely a little cooler weather for today and tomorrow. So we'll see what happens. And cooler, still on the week, staying cool through the weekend. But we should be back in the sunny conditions. So that'll be nice. And let's see, got a little shopping to do today. So yeah, got to get that done. And then it's hanging out in the wood shop and get back to work on these guitars I've got. So it's down to polishing and then putting the bridge on them and getting the setup done and all that fun stuff. So there you go. Anyway, I just have to say hi. And I will say bye and turn it back. Thanks for doing that Bill. I'll turn it back to you. 27 Papa Whiskey Bravo Dave, behind Desert Pirate Radio. All right, thank you, Dave. And drizzle there, that's interesting. Well, we haven't had any rain here in, I don't know, quite a while. And I don't know what the forecast is for today. I haven't looked yet. It says partly sunny. But well, that probably tells the story, actually. Currently 64 degrees here. Well, let's see, yes. And shopping to do and shop time. Sounds like you got lots going on today. Thank you, Dave. So you're going to get it, get it, get the go, leave this banner off, combating session off. So hey, Robert, what you got going on, KK7 Zulu, Romeo, Yankee, take it away. Hey, Madam, well, that's no pressure. Golly. Good morning, everybody on the net. It is a gorgeous Friday, and it is a Friday, which I'm very glad. I've got an educational question, kind of, sort of. If you were on the 9 o'clock net last night, you might have tuned in and heard a sort of a distressing situation, which net control was managing very well. But I'm wondering what the protocol is for someone who's crashing or someone who is apparently in distress. What can we as hams do either to control the situation or maybe to help that person? Don't really know what the protocol is. KK7 said ROI. Well, there are a lot of ways to handle it. The mission critical is this. The reason we are ham radio operators is to support any kind of an emergency. And that is absolutely priority. And you know, when we've had windstorms and things, no matter what the net is doing, any kind of emergency communication absolutely takes priority. That is mission critical. After that, we can call 911. We can get help there. We can notify authorities. We can do all kinds of things. And other than that, I got a call one time when we were in Wenatchee of a car wreck up on Swach Pass or Blewett Pass and was able to relay to the Sheriff's Department that they had an issue up there and got help up there. And yeah, until that is done, it's like that absolutely takes priority. So hopefully that will answer your question. And that's the way I've dealt with it. So yeah. Other than that, yeah, that's mission critical. We do periodically have some interference on this repeater. And you just ignore it. So we can walk right over the top of it, boost up to high power, and ignore any harmful RFI. So there you go. All right. Hopefully that answers your question. I'm sure others that will come on will also jump in with their opinions as well. And so hey, thanks for coming by and saying hi. Have a wonderful day. And we will catch you later. It's Friday. TGIF to everybody. Hey, there you go. This is Kilo Delta 7 Papa Whiskey Bravo Day in the high desert pirate radius, heading in for NR 7-0, rocking around the wild man. And I am listening for more short horizon or internet stations. Please come ahead. Kilo Kilo 7 Victor Papa Juliet Curtis Danilo. Hey, I got you. Hey, how you doing? Hey, my doubles partner Jim. I got you on the list. And say hello to Jane there before I come back to you. And next check in, please."}]}
