Good morning Gina and everybody on that. Yeah, a lot of people are sleeping in or gone away on holiday. I know Roy is, where's Roy? Somewhere in Northern Oregon, I'm guessing, camping. I know he was in Neskowin a couple of days ago, but I know they went to another campsite. Anyway, well not much going on today as usual, so everybody have a good day. Looks like you're going to have a short hour here Gina. Oh hey, I had a question of the day, I know it's kind of late, 8.40 here in Edmonton, and we've got 11 Celsius with a high of 24, and what's my calculation, oh yeah, 52 and 75 were high, and mostly sunny, a few clouds. My wife was watching this one English fellow on Home Network or HGTV, I can't remember which one, and his name is George, so I started seeing George of the Jungle, watch out for that tree. Hahahaha! Ahh, no, they really make you tired for Sunday, and all you have to do is just lounge around in the chair, so there you go. Alright, buddy, you take care, we'll say 73 for now. Haha! But yeah, let's move on down here to V4, YYL. Good morning, Rosie, how you doing? On November 8th, Tango Hotel, Juliet, this is Victor Aquafoy and Tango Yma. Good morning, Arthur, and good morning to the lovebirds out there, Gina and Joe and everybody else on this vacancy, you know, we don't want to forget anybody, so nice hearing Cathy on there, that's for sure. So, doing not too bad, I wish that my ankle would be doing better, but however, arthritis is in there, so who knows when that will get better, so we're hoping for the best, but see how things go. Going back to the doctor in September, so however, I passed the mic over to my lovely husband. Good morning, everybody, VE4GWN in a currently sunny Winnipeg, although after lecture calling for 60% chance of thunder showers. You can use the showers, not the thunder, because hopefully the showers, if they go far enough north, will help with the fires, but of course we know what lightning can do. Not much on the schedule today, actually, in about three quarters of an hour, Rosie's got an appointment for a massage, and I'm right behind her, so that's going to finish off the rest of the morning. Tomorrow's a different story, we're going to be going down onto Memorial Boulevard here in Winnipeg to the Peacekeepers Memorial that's there, because today is National Peacekeepers Day in Canada, something a lot of people aren't aware of, and the reason August 9th was chosen is August 9th, 1974, 51 years ago today, nine Canadian passengers and crew were killed with a Syrian ground air missile shot down a Canadian Forces Buffalo aircraft flying UN colors on a routine flight from Ismaili, Egypt to Damascus as part of the United Nations peacekeeping. So even in peacekeeping it can be dangerous, that was the largest single incident, loss of life for Canadians in a peacekeeping mission, notice I said a peacekeeping mission, and that is why the day August 9th was chosen, and I do believe Canada recognized it initially, I want to say 2008, but don't quote me on that. And with that I'm going to say 73 back to net, VE4 GWN in Winnipeg. Thank you very much for that information, I learn something every time somebody gets out of here, I mention something and stuff like that, I didn't know anything about that, but hey, thank you very much for enlightening us. Alright, Rosie and Glenn, you too, have yourselves a great day and enjoy your massage. So with that we'll say 73 to VE4. But Dan let's move on down to KD7WA, good morning Roy. Well good morning Art and all the other hamsters out there on the worldwide friendship net, this is Roy, KD7WA here in Florence, Oregon, about 60 degrees, going to get up to around 70 somewhere in there, beautiful sunny, been pretty nice, 3 days at the coast and no rain, very unusual. Glad I'm over here though, it's going to be 100 degrees I think tomorrow in Salem, so I'll enjoy the 60 degrees that's for sure. Yeah the orvery group, we all went down to Moe's on the waterfront, I had some great fish and chips, and I think Sue had shrimp on a skewer and we had a good time and then came back and sat around the campfire and told lies last night. So yeah that's what's going on in Florence, tomorrow we'll be heading up the road about 90 miles to Nescone for 2 weeks. So that's it here from Florence, Oregon, this is KD7WA back to net control. Well that's the whole fun of it, sitting around the campfire telling all kinds of tall tales and stories and lies and whatever else you can think of. Well I'm glad you're having a great time and hey we will talk at you later, 73 for now. So with that, that brought me down to the bottom of the list, this is the World Wide Touch event, I am November 8th, I'm going to tell you it, you're in neck control for the day, and the name here is R. Del for Romeo Tango and Springfield, Ohio. I am looking for some more jackets so please come in with your call site slowly, infinites and twice, and if you are short down the mobile, let me know and I'll get you to the top of the list. So with that, please come on. Kilo Charlie 1 Tango Uniform Victor. Kilo Charlie 1 Tango Uniform Victor. Matt in Connecticut. Kilo Delta 7 Golf Echo Charlie. Kilo Delta 7 Golf Echo Charlie. This is Roy, K87WA here in Florence. We're packing up today and heading up to Eneskon for another 14 days. So we'll be over here where it's cool. I picked a good time I guess. I think it's supposed to be like almost 100 a day in Salem and 102 tomorrow, depending on which weather you watch. So anyhow, we're going to enjoy this nice cool coast over here. So that's it, we had a great time here in Florence. Went to the Mose Friday night and last night we had real foot long hot dogs. Our host here, our RV Club host, had to look all around to find actual foot long hot dogs and find the buns that long. But that's what we had along with all the other side dishes. So it's been a great weekend here with the group and now we'll be heading on up to Eneskon. So that's it from Florence, Oregon. 73 Soil and this is K87WA back to net control. Alright there Roy, we'll definitely take advantage of being on the coast during our heat coming up here and enjoy those hot dogs. We took my dog to the baseball game last night, the first time in 10 years I've taken him. He's more deaf than he used to be. Most of the noise didn't bother him at all but he had a hot dog there at the game and yeah got all kinds of attention and pets. But yeah, nothing beats a good hot dog. My friend at the ferry yesterday had a two foot long corn dog there to eat and he was looking forward to it and just crushed it. So sometimes it's a good hot dog there, calls for you, especially in the summer. So drive safe up there to Neskon and enjoy the beach during this heat. Alright, last on this round is Missy, KC7FMW. Good morning. Good morning Al. It will be a better day for me than it's starting. But you know, it should be. But I'm frustrated at the moment. So it's weekends and weekends around here are not good. I used to complain about them at Escalante, they're better at Escalante. At least they know how to help me. My one CNA is really awesome. She's heating up my breakfast now. So that makes me happy. So all is well. Anyway, I hope you guys are having a great day. I'm just going to be hanging out, doing nothing maybe. Oh, I wrote a, there's a song contest going on in a group I belong to. And the theme of the song contest was what will music be like in 2081. And I looked at the, you know, and I'm going, I want to be 105 by 2081, but what the heck. So I wrote a song, but I haven't done anything with it yet. But I'm going to see if I have enough energy to speak something and just see what happens. I'm not going to, probably won't do anything with it, but I might enter the contest with it. We'll see what happens. I don't know. Anyway, 73, K.C. 7FMW, here comes my breakfast. Back to that. All right there, Missy. Sounds like we had great timing on getting you in there. Enjoy your breakfast and have fun writing that song about the 2081 there. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out. All right, with that, I'm at the bottom of the list here. We're listening to the Worldwide Friendship Net. My name's Gina, your host for the day. Sorry to hear you're still mourning the loss of that salmon that you caught. Yeah, hooking salmon is tricky, especially when they make you have barbless hooks nowadays. It used to be you could have a barb on there that would help keep that hook in, but you're supposed to squish those down now on some of the fisheries. So it makes it a little more challenging. The best thing is to always keep attention on that line there so they can't back out of that hook. There's also a butterfly pavilion down in Elkton, or a butterfly room down there, I think, where I was bicycling around the coast and cut inland there. We stopped and saw that. So I bet the one in Bichart Gardens is just fantastic. So always nice. So thanks for coming in and sharing that there, Mel. Have a good rest of your Sunday. We'll be camping out at Beverly Beach and looking forward to a week's vacation there. It's been busy here the last couple of weeks. The heat and all that. We've become really well low wind sailors our class has and we're just hoping for one good solid day of wind before the end of the class. Today I'm headed over to friends after taking care of grocery shopping this morning and calling mom to check up on her. They got some leftover barbecue from their family get together yesterday. And hopefully you have a great trip here to Portland. And yeah, let's keep in touch and so far that weekend seems open, so if I can run out and say hey if you're somewhere here and we can connect up and just do some face to face time here which is fun to do when you talk to somebody on the radio for many years and then actually meet them in person. So I hope you have a wonderful trip out here and enjoy Portland. All right, up next I've got Rosie, VE4YYL from KD7GEC in the Net. Good morning."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-28T07:36:21+00:00","id":48825,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":48824,"text":" Yeah, definitely the fall chores spring to mind when the, yeah, mention what to look forward to this fall. Definitely getting all the needles and leaves out because all the rain that we're going to be getting. We started putting oversized gutters on the buildings here in the HOA, so that seems to help. It also seems to help hold more of the leaves. But, it's still, yeah, even when there are leaves in there, there's enough room for the water to quickly get piped out so it's not coming over the side there. And the crisp mornings and, yeah, our colors here that we get some of the ornamental trees that are planted around Portland with the sugar maples and all of that. Do look great. So all good things for fall there. And yeah, somebody, I'm not sure what part of Portland that Cliff will be visiting, so I guess if he can come back and let us know what part of Portland, maybe somebody can figure out a close enough restaurant to meet up or a time there. I'm not sure what his schedule is and stuff. So I'm not going to be able to jump in on that, but if I know, I'll try and make that time to go and see everybody. All right, up next I've got Missy, KC7FMW from KD7GEC in the Net. Good morning."}]}
