I did the finish the test pattern here at the house as well and it was all worked and I was going to bury the wire but then we got busy planting trees and all of that stuff and then I decided, well that's a big job to bury that wire. I'm going to bury that wire about three or four inches below the soil and everything else. But anyway, it did work. It worked at the rental house. It cut around two trees and then shut itself off but here at the house it actually put itself in the garage and shut itself off all automatically. But I never did take it to the final where I buried the wire everywhere around the property. So there you go. That's about it guys. Bringing back old, old memories. I still got the schematics and everything in the book somewhere. Now back to the neck control. KC7GHD going ITEC or still trying to. And yeah, Joyce was talking about, you know, you all know about Hilda, but our little mop we call Squirt. And I use her once in a while after Hilda finishes the whole house. Hilda's on charge right now. And we just, you know, she really settles any dust that the vacuum left over and kind of cleans up any dust that's left from just vacuuming. So Squirt and Hilda. And then back in, we're trying to figure out, I think it was 1969 or 1970, I designed an automatic lawn mower all by myself and built the electronics and everything. I mounted it to control a three and a half horsepower gasoline lawn mower engine. It was a front-throw reel type lawn mower with basically chain drives for each of the two wheels on the lawn mower. And I could use a trim-tab motor off a Twin Beach aircraft, I guess, a trim-tab motor, as a magnetic brake to slow one wheel down or the other to steer. And I basically had the thing, well, it was stored programmed. And I had it working at our rental house and then we bought the house here in 1969 or so. And I actually put in a test pattern here and it would mow around a tree and when it was done, it would put itself in the garage and turn its gas engine off and park it in the garage as a test pattern. And it basically followed the single conductor wire that I would have to bury in the ground about four inches below the soil and it would follow that. And it worked great on the test patterns, I put it, but then when we bought the house, Joyce is telling me I'm going to time out. Let me reset."},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-11-01T07:44:11+00:00","id":73616,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":73615,"text":" Well good morning there Art and everybody else out there on the World Wide Friendship Nest. I'm from a very rainy Portland, Oregon today. My cat's out on the back deck because the rain's keeping him there so he's got a grumpy look on his face. We had a total of four trick or treaters at my friend's house last night and so it wasn't too busy. We did some craft projects and hung out for the evening. So had a good time of it anyway. Earlier this week they took me out downtown for some fondue. It's the one year anniversary of losing my husband so they've been keeping me in really good spirits all week. We had bought a brick with our names on it down in Pioneer Courthouse Square back in 2018 and then it was installed in 2019 but we've never been able to see it and just never made it down there. So we went hunting for that brick with Michael and my name on it and got photos of that and did a rubbing and stuff so that we have a colorful copy of it at home. So it was really nice for them to be there with me and doing all that, keeping me going this week. So looking forward to hanging out with everybody tomorrow morning. And with that time change it's going to be a good one there. So I hope to see you all. Anyway, I do have the HC on my hip while I'm outside in the dark and everything, doing a few chores, but that'll work out better and it'll be an hour later, I guess, we'll be able to sit out on the patio longer at that time, an hour later, because it warms up quick. And yeah, it's just wall to wall sun here, blue skies. And we eat the same thing, I think, winter or summer, because it's basically summer and then kind of a cooly summer year round here, unless we of course drive up to the snow and the colored leaves around Payson and Pine and Strawberry and a few places like that, it gets up to, I think, 10,500 feet or something. We've camped many times at 9,600 feet in the camper in the forest in Arizona. So anyway, oh, well, but, yeah, well, you might want to try to figure out what's causing the problem because every morning all the time we're connected to IRLP and it just automatically connects with the scripts I'm running and we don't do anything. It connects and disconnects. All we do is talk on the HDs. And so it might be your internet connection or it might be the IRLP equipment you've got them on. This is KC7Y and the gang and friends I should say this is KC7YP. I just did nothing moving around and I caught the topic as being phones and stuff being about the phone. So yeah I'm currently using my iPhone with Echo Link and I also have it on my tablet. I had to dump a bunch of stuff off of it. The only thing I don't like is when the phones get overloaded and even one drive storage can get overloaded and stuff or get loaded to where they call it. Get a lot of stuff in it where you can't put anything else up there. I had a bunch of good recordings I had to dump yesterday but I have enough of that rent. I also use my tablet. I have an android tablet and an iPhone. I use this iPhone for Echo Link and I do have it on my tablet as well. I use one or both for hot spots and get the wifi. I also keep my logs on my tablet. I do have a computer but it's trying to take a dive on me. Right now I'm using phones and tablets. Really good topic today. You never know what these devices can really do. You never know they could totally replace the computer in time. I'm not saying they will or won't but it could happen. Other than that we have rain out here today. We've had rain the last day or two. It's not too bad I guess. It's not like porn, drenching rain. Joe good job on the net. Keep up the good work. Rosie don't worry. I already gave Joe his scratch on the ears and a good cup of coffee and a human cookie. Not a dog cookie. A good chocolate chip, virtual chocolate chip cookie. You wait to eat that after lunch Joe. Not right now. Hi, hi. Anyway good net today. A very very good question. Really a really good engaging question. I need to think more of those anyway. So anyway I'm going to hand it back to you so I don't get Geraldine after me. But before I do folks stop by the K6FN conference this afternoon at 4 p.m. Pacific, 7 p.m. East Coast time. Yeah, my buddy Jack and I were up in Utah and we had this friend, Tim Martin, he was a pilot up there. He was getting pretty old, about seventy years old at that time. And he was a great pilot. And he took us up in the air and then while we were flying he says, you guys want to fly through an arch? And I says, I've always wanted to fly through an arch. So Dowling went zooming in the canyons and we flew through Kirk Arch. And then he said, my buddy Jack didn't get it on video, I got a photo of it, and he said, you want to go again the other direction? So we flew back through Kirk Arch in the other direction and it was quite a feel. I captured it in a still picture and Jack finally got it on video. But you had much room to play with. Kirk Arch isn't very big and the Cessna seemed awful big. It's a single engine Cessna. And this is a great pilot though. He'd been flying through arches all his life and just having so much fun. And finally they made laws against it about the time he had to quit. He was getting pretty old then. So back to net control, let's see if I timed out KC7GHD. Yeah, good morning Gina, good morning to Barbara and good morning to Joyce and Julia and good morning to everyone else on the net. I think I heard Missy as well, so hi to Missy as well. And yeah, we're just getting back to kind of reality after a week's holiday and it's raining today, quite a bit of rain actually and the temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit. And it's very dark today, I'm here in the shack and I've had to put a little desk light on so it's certainly feeling very autumn-like and I've had to put the central heating on. And funny enough, I'm also going to be doing some cooking and yeah, I'm going to be using mince to make mince and potatoes for our evening meal tonight and some vegetables with that. I could of course do chilli as well for the mince, but I'll probably stick to the mince and potatoes for the evening meal tonight and I think we're looking forward to a nice home cooked meal. The bad side being in holiday, although is it really bad? I don't know, but we had quite a lot of takeaways just because of being tiny in the camp. It was a caravan holiday, a static caravan, so almost a bit like camping, so not really able to make full sized meals and that kind of thing and we did get a lot of food to go in and that kind of thing. So yeah, health is another evening and of course tomorrow school is back, work is back, so yeah, reality is going to dawn on us all. I think it's going to be a long week, a very long week. We've got a 2002 Buick I just keep in tip-top shape. It runs great and I don't know, it's got 150,000 on it. Usually I keep them close to 300,000 like my Jeep. I just keep them running, maintain them, whatever it needs I put in it and it just goes. We really love that 2002 Buick. It's a fantastic road car. I drove it to California and Oregon and back again a number of times. Anyway, electric cars, they're not ready yet but I mean you gotta start somewhere to sell them to some people and it'll be kind of fun until you don't have any juice in the battery. KC7GHD going I get here and we're watching the nor'easter there on the Atlantic coast and the flooding in Phoenix here. I don't see any flooding. There's quite a bit of rain and down our street there's water. I mean I got my feet wet getting out to the mailbox at 4.30 this morning in the dark and there was no way around it. I had to wade through it about an inch and a half of water for about four feet I guess to get out of the drainage ditch in front of our house which is all smoothed and everything. You can ride a lawn mower over it and stuff but I had to wade through it. Anyway, that's what's going on here. I think Rosie will be fine driving up as long as she washes her wind swipes and hits all the dust and mud off of them that collect over the dry season here. Then it does a hydroplane, doesn't go too fast. They usually try to drive 90 miles an hour. She's got freeway all the way here. She just gets in the right lane and goes at a speed like 60 miles an hour she'll be flying I think. She's not doing it in the dark. It'll be during the daylight and it could be pouring rain. You can't hardly see when it really comes down. Anyway, we're doing okay for the way we're doing and things are slowing down. Oh, I did want to ask, is there a game? I've never played any games for years. I was just wondering is there a game on the computer where you could play two people like Joyce and I just to have fun.
