You know, you just have to Google it. Look at the Flint Hills and look at the western part, like you get west of Salina, then it turns flat. The only time you see trees would be around like a rest area. And if there's a house, people plant trees. I think it's kind of nice, but you got to watch yourself because, you know, there's nowhere for the police to hide. So they use helicopters, so you got to watch it. I love Kansas. I wouldn't want to live there in the wintertime, like in the western part. Eastern part, like Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, like the Kansas City suburbs, Topeka's nice, Salina's nice. You get west of Salina, that's when it starts to flatten out. And they actually have, looks like railroad crossing gates. So if the roads are too bad, you can't get onto the highway. It looks like, you know, what happens when a train comes through on a railroad crossing and those gates come down, so you can't even get onto the highway. That's how bad it gets over there. They do that in Wyoming and Colorado too. Here's KM02, back to you. KM02, K7WSP. Well, thank you. That's nice to hear from a local who gets over to Kansas with some frequency of why you'd want to go. Yeah, I just got up a little bit ago here, and I'm looking, you know, opening the slats on the sliding glass door. And it's nice and sunny outside and 64 degrees right now. Yeah, I'm watching a volcano eruption on a Kilauea volcano that's really shot up a lot of lava. And it's pretty amazing to watch. It's been doing that off and on like forever. And a bunch of people out there watching it. It was pretty impressive. They shoot the lava up about 1,000 feet in the air, which is a new record. I just got going here. Got this weather station here that I have up. Anyway, it's a long story, but for some reason, I can't figure out how it does the pressure, barometric pressure. It seems like it just does random things with it. So I think it just will for show, but more for than really anything that's useful. But anyway, yeah, no squirrels yet. I put some peanuts out there. And usually they come later on. So we'll see when they get there. Now with that, back to net, AB6MB. This is repeater station kilo kilo 7, November, Quebec, November, all star node 622. OK, thank you, Jeff. Located in Shelton, Washington. Well, that's interesting. Our temperature is about the same as yours. And even more interesting was Jim over in eastern Washington, where it should be warmer. It was about the same as ours. So kind of interesting. Well, thank you, Jeff. Oh, the volcano, yeah, I was reading about that. I didn't realize it was setting records. But they've had that volcano going for a long time. People are probably getting kind of used to it and blase about it. And it could take a giant burp and cause some major damage. It did that a while back, I guess. Anyway, Hawaii is doing what it does, moving down the plate. And more of our new volcanoes start. Yeah, it's kind of fascinating. All right, thank you, Jeff. This is the 9 o'clock tap. This is W7PAS. More check-ins, please. KC2STO with an IO. Have a great day. Bye-bye. All right, thank you, Charlie. KC2STO with an IO. That rhymes nicely. OK, next check-in, please. But yeah, sometimes I'll show Galveston, Texas, some things I'll show Galveston Island, Texas. But you know, Galveston Island is an island, but it can be actually, you can't change cities over there. Galveston, the city of Galveston, at Jamaica Beach, which is south and west, is the main. It's the main on the western part of the island, south and western part of the island. So anyway, let's see what's on my mind tonight. Well, I saw the video of the picnic the PSRD had, and I saw your lovely smiling face, and it was again, it made me feel good. It was the most wonderful part, seeing y'all having such a good time. This, yesterday, I happened to go into YouTube live, live video of the Orem Sea Spear, or Air Show, but that was pretty good, so I got to see, you know, the C-17 flying around. I saw the C-46, and I saw a little bit of the Blue Angels, and some of the hydrofoil races, so that was cool. I mean, it looked like there was a big crowd. The ceiling was hollow, so the Blue Angels didn't really get a chance to do a lot of what they normally do. I used to go to Air Shows quite a bit, and I seen the Blues, the Thunderbirds, and the Snowbirds. And I got a lot of Air Show pictures I've taken over the years, and I see there's something else that's going on that I'm trying to think of. Well anyway, well I'm glad that also that you all very well both, both through the tsunami, I was monitoring, I was doing the, the repeater, and I heard a little bit of fast carrying there, but fortunately nothing, not a whole lot happened, happened in your wake, which is a good time. I hope you guys don't be threatened by anything like any time in the near future. So that's about all I have tonight. Thanks for hosting it, it's always good to hear you, Joe. 73KF5WYB.net Tsunami, yeah she was my roommate in college. Well, yeah we did all right. You know, we were sheltered a bit in the sound, but you know the sea rise of a tsunami is deceptive, because it's not just a wave, it's like entire ocean is suddenly above normal, and there's a lot more behind that, but we didn't do, I didn't hear any really bad damage, or catastrophic damage anywhere locally, and I'm glad that it warmed your heart to see my smiling face. You know, when you saw me in the video, I was in my nerdy antenna mathematics happy place, so I love it. An analog head, more people are digiheads now, I'm still an analog head, and RF is one of my hobbies I guess. I just happen to have a ham radio license. All right, take care of her, and also a mid 19th century fam 88. All right, so moving right along, we had a couple of IOs from Ki7ryw and KC2STO, and that brings us to Jeff, who is putting a bow on the first round. AB6MB, please give us, oh it popped up here on my, one of my, I keep one of my pads ready for other lines, back channels I should say. But anyway, Jeff, AB6MB, please give us your report. W and Seltzer, W and L, E and R, R, R, E and R, Detroit. There were two stations in there. I only got one. I did get KC7, EYJ. Who's the other station in there? W and Seltzer, W and L, E and R, Detroit. All right, I'd heard of the W station. I'm still kind of missing out. I also got KC2, STO, Charlie after that. So I've got Bill, I've got Grossie, who else was in there? This is Kilo Charlie to Sierra Tango Oscar. Got you on the list, Charlie. More stations. Call sign and name, RF and internet. It's Wilco, W7 LCO. That's who it was, Wilco, W7 LCO. Awesome. I'm going to put you a bit further up on the list because I know you were down there. Yeah, I could hear you. I could hear that voice. Let's go ahead and draw a line there and go back to the top. Bill, I know that you had a shout out during the Lake Washington meeting about SAG driver. I'm hoping that you will mention that in your report. So Bill KG7 BAH, KK7 IJZ. KJ7 BAH, you're driving back home from another VE session. We tested a young lady that was a net control operator assistant person at Flying Wheels and she got her general very handily. We had a young man who got his technician very handily and another gentleman who tested for all three and did very well on the first two and fell short on the third so he's going to do some more studying and come back. As to the bike race, the bike ride, the Redmond to Bellingham slash Vancouver ride that's coming up in a couple of weeks on a Saturday. That race is still in need of SAG drivers. If you don't know what a SAG driver is, it's somebody who has the capability of carrying a bicycle inside or on a bike rack and some passengers inside in case you have to get a wounded rider or bicycle back to a bigger point. It's a great way to use your ham radio skills. It will require a deadly serious VHF radio because I'll be doing that control from Education Hill to repeaters up and down the course. That's the plan. If this sounds interesting to you, a way to actually use your ham skills, drop me a line at my callsign kilojuliet7. bravoindihotel.com. That's that easy. KG7BIH. Back to that. Well, first of all, that's so exciting. That, yeah, General and then a couple of new hams. That is awesome. Thank you so much for your volunteer examiner service. Everyone, please always remember that being a ham radio operator, being an amateur radio operator is a service and there's so many volunteer opportunities out there for you. And one of them is being a volunteer examiner, which is a lot of fun. Yeah. Well, thank you so much for coming in with your report, Bill. I appreciate it. And yes, please get in touch with Bill. He volunteers a lot on bicycle rides and races and is always in need of volunteers. But for this one specifically, if any of that sounds interesting, please hit him up at kilojuliet7. bravoindihotel.gmail.com. And yeah, I hope that people get in touch with you, Bill. I'm not sure what the little red rollers say to you, but you never know. It's what I call my car. It's very small. Well, Bill, thank you so much, 73. And thank you for checking in. This is Rebecca KK7IJZ. Next on the list is Grossie. Hey, Grossie, how are you doing this weekend? Please come ahead with your report. Well, I'm doing pretty good. Everything's going good. I went to my doctor the other day. I'm going to have to go in the hospital next month, but that's OK. It's a quick, easy procedure. Good old kidney stones. I get them every 10 years like clockwork. Well, this one came early. It came in in nine years. So we're going to I guess I'm going to go into one of those chambers where they just blast them. I'm not looking forward to it, but might be easier than the other way. The other two ways I've had one, two, three, four. This is the fourth bout of them. And if anybody's had them, they know they're no fun. But anyhow, that's the story I'm at. Rabbits are doing good around the property. I forgot I had another commitment for tomorrow, so I'm not going to make the ice cream deal. So oops, I'll make it again some year. And I was looking forward to jamming with the guys, too. But there again, oops, always something throws a monkey wrench into stuff, but that's OK. Life goes on. Otherwise, everybody have a good day. Better tomorrow. Gross, he said to you. Talk to you guys later. W7, DNG. Oh, OK. Yeah. Rather than later, blast those things out. At least you know when to expect them every 10 years, right? Well, thanks for stopping by, Grossie. Have a great weekend and, yeah, you know, there will be more later shines. Seven three and have a wonderful, wonderful weekend. And next on the list, I'm going to call for Wilco W7 LCO KK7 IJZ. Please come ahead with your report. Hello there. Thank you for running the net. This is Wilco. I just got back to the boat this morning. I went down to Burien Cares and took one of the doggos out for a walk and some playtime and got some coffee. Nitro cold brew at Burien Press. And the weather is amazing. So I'm just going to open up all the doors and windows on the boat and get some nice air and natural light in there. And I will be opening up the floor panels looking for my leak, which I've been trying to find for about a week. A one week leak, you might say. So that's on my plate for the afternoon. And I guess that's about it. So I'll send it back to you and let the roll call move on. Seventy three to you and everyone out there. Whiskey seven, Lima, Charlie, Oscar. Before you run away, Wilco, I need a doggo report. What's this doggo situation? How many? Two, three, five, one names, call signs. K9 report, Wilco, back to you. Yeah. OK. All right. My bad. This little pit bull that I took out today is super cute. He's about 45 pounds. Super shorty. Very mild mannered, sweet temperament. His name is stud muffin and he's about a year and a half old. Extremely cute. I think he might be deaf, actually. He seems like not really responsive to human voices. So. But yeah, I have been looking at adopting a dog again since I got divorced and my ex has our husky named Eleven. And so I've just been looking around at the shelters and on the pet finder app. Oh, and also, I forgot to mention last night I went to the Little Red Hen for watching Knute Bell, who's a country singer, and tried my hand at doing some dancing, some country dancing. So that was a fun date that I went on last night. So that's the doggo report and the date report. Back to you. Whiskey seven, Lima, Charlie, Oscar. Yes, that is awesome. You know what? That's over. Everyone have a great day. Just joking. Stud muffin? Are you kidding me? You need to keep that pit bull. Stud muffin. I love stud muffin already. I can't even believe it. A little shorty pit bull. His name is stud muffin. My favorite thing about pit bulls is they look like they're talking to you. Their little expressive eyes and their little b-stick head. I love it. I love pit bulls. I love all dogs. I love all animals. Human and non-human. And dancing? What? I love it. Way to go. Way to grab the bull by the horns, so you can speak. Getting those dates in. Dancing skills on point. That's amazing, Rocco. And yes, I hope the week gets fixed. Eventually, you know, we just roll out the duct tape. Just start taping the bottom of the boat. Just tape it. Tape everything. No, don't do that. Just joking. I don't know anything about boats, but yeah. Well, that's great. Well, you and stud muffin, just keep on doing what you do. And thank you so much for the doggo report. I hope that you and stud muffin get together forever and ever and ever. And that the week gets fixed. Thank you so much, Rocco. And also, Contra dancing. Can't say enough about how fun it is. Contra dancing. Do it. Or not. 7-3, Rocco. This is Rebecca, KK7IJZ. Last on this list is Charlie, KC2STO. Please come ahead with your report."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T21:14:51+00:00","id":16027,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16026,"text":" Nothing heard. I am Brian, KA7KZH. This is the 9 o'clock on the Puget Sound Repeater Group repeater in Seattle, Washington. Let's go ahead and get our first report here of the night. Ann, how are you tonight? KA9EHB, please give us a report. Well, this is KA9EHB. Good evening to everybody on the net. As hard as I tried to do nothing today, I ended up playing through all my Christmas carols and finally deciding on what I swear, absolutely swear, is the final list that now has one non-seasonal piece per each set of 12. And so that's cool. And so I think I'm happy with it now. It leaves a little more practice, but that's not too bad. So in spite of my attempt to do absolutely nothing this afternoon, I did actually write and I did actually do the playing of the Christmas practicing. And that's about it. Got to listen to my dear sweet husband, all the names in the genealogy of Noah. That's always fun. He gave me a gift. He read the whole nine chapters of First Chronicles and it's absolutely gorgeous. Someday I have to get a tape recorder and get a recording of him reading that. I love the genealogy. So anyway, that's about all the news that is news. 73, 33, 88. All the numbers. Thanks to Brian for running the net. Thanks to all of you for listening. This is KA9. I love you all. This is KA98. Be my connect. Well, despite your attempts to do nothing, it sounds like you were quite productive there. So I'll be curious in a future report what the non-seasonal ones are within those Christmas carols there. But hey, very good. Never too late to get those lists going for sure. So happy harping and very cool of your husband there. Yeah, get a recording of it. So all right. Thanks for that check in there, Ann. Have a great night and we'll catch you down the lot here. All right. Up next on the nine o'clock net is going to be Lisa. How are you doing tonight? KC7BYJ. Please give us a report. Well, good evening to you and all. I want to echo link. I had intended to get onto a new valve phone, a 5R, but I, you know, headed off to a lonely place to do a little bit of wood setting with a very beginner trumpet person. And so I don't want other people to be subjected to my practice. And so brought along the radio and figured, OK, well, just program in the numbers and wait. No, it's about fun. It's not so easy. So I went to echo link. I was at the Rainer sign today and also, you know, the wedding celebrations or marriage celebration, I guess, more accurately for Megan and my brain is not working and maybe the other half. And well, unless you count the dogs and then there's lots of pieces. But it was lovely and I was expecting it was going to be really hot, but they had an area that was surrounded on kind of a U-shaped surrounded by tall trees, everything but the north. So we were cool the whole day. I was astonished and it was wonderful. So that's what I've got for you. And also, many thanks to you, Brian, for taking the in-outs first. That makes such a big difference. OK, KC7BYJ, neck to neck. Hey, good stuff. Guess it was Megan, K9MLR and Brooks, K9TC, who you were thinking of there. Also very, very cool. Thanks for the report on that. I was not able to make it out today, but I'm hoping to get some good ice cream reports and Megan and Brooks reports today. So keep them coming, keep them coming. So glad you're able to practice that trumpet and a good on you for not subjecting others listening to it. Big violinist myself, I even try to make sure I put on that practice mute so I'm not super annoying to everyone. It kind of dampens the sound quite a bit there. So good stuff there. Thank you so much for stopping by tonight, Lisa, with that report. We'll catch you down the log here. All right. We have two more on this round. Next up, James, how are you doing tonight? And thanks for coming back with your call. I think at least three times. Whiskey eight, whiskey, whiskey, please give us a report. Metcalfe, W8WW, good evening. As a matter of fact, I literally just walked in the house. Not much to report here. Had a, what they call it a solar generator. I call it a battery power box, whatever you want to call it, or an inverter. Had a, one about the size of a large lunch box. And even though it's slightly disappointed on its size, if it puts out what it needs to, I'll be happy. So we'll leave it at that. Back to neck control, W8WW. Very good stuff there, James. I think you echo my sentiment. I've gone off on a rant, maybe not on the air, but I don't like that they call those generators because in my mind, they don't generate anything. They store electricity. It is a big battery. And even though they're designed to be charged off of solar panel, you don't have to charge them that way. They can be charged any which way, off your car alternator or the AC on the wall. And I, it's, I'm just going to rant for a second. It's annoying that you go to Home Depot or go on their website and type in the word generator and all these batteries show up. And it's like, that's not a generator. I digress. I digress. Anyway, I hope it does work out for you. I've got a big EcoFlow lunch. I can even, I daisy changed their 400 watt solar panel. It'd be a lot of fun there. So yeah, I hope it all works out for you. Let us know how it goes and we'll catch you down the log. They're glad you made it home safe there, James. And last on this go around, Charlie, good to see you at the meeting yesterday online.
