We heard from everybody. And we went through a mess of difficult topics. I hope I gold star to all of you on that. We don't want to change the cowpunk in it. We know why people like to come here and listen and talk and express themselves. We also got some instructions from the system manager about what you do when you see somebody abusing the text box or ranting and raving in the text box. You know, he takes a screenshot. He wants to see it. And then they'll make a decision on what they're going to do. For one, hope that we'll all defend that, both on the air and in the text box, that we will try and shut things down before they get out of control. And there's a lot of reasons why that is going on. I don't pretend to know anybody really that well. But it always seems like there are chemicals involved. And what do you do when that happens? Well, our approach is going to be to take a screenshot and then turn it over to the powers that be. All right, it's time for the sign-on round. We are, let's see, what are we now? Oh, 10-04. No head time. Don't hurry anything. My final question was going to be, and what do we do about it? So you guys can think about that, but I don't want to hear your final thoughts. OK, great. Thank you very much. I missed a few sections of the net. I got a call back from the second mechanic, and it was much more than the first one. It was more along the lines of what George was saying. It was $85 an hour, closer to what George was saying. And I think that's what we're going to do. We're going to do a little bit of a search and see what we can do. It was $85 an hour, closer to what George was saying. $20 more an hour expensive than the first place. But it doesn't matter, because I don't think I can, there's no way I can get that, you know, together. Anyway, so, man, I tell you, the rest of my summer just went down the crap hole. And I'm pretty pissed about it. If I find out someone did that intentionally, which they would have had to. I mean, the exhaust is broken off the bike, and it was fine when I rode it the last time, about six or seven weeks ago. So, I don't know. I'm pretty pissed about the whole situation. Waiting on a call back from one more quad repair place. But I think the first quote that I got is going to be the cheapest one. You know, between $500 and $600. And that's parts and labor and all the rest of it there. That's for an exhaust, a head, the two gasket kids, and the rest of it. And all the labor, it'll take about four hours to do, the dude said. And they won't get started. Both places said they won't get started until they've got all the parts there. So you're not going to rack up like tons of hours. He said we won't even go at it until we get everything in, and that's when the actual work starts. He said once they've got all the parts and everything in and ready to go. So, still disheartening. I'm trying to rack my brains now to think if a vehicle could have hit it like you said, Gray, and no. It definitely couldn't have been. It was like a malicious kick or something like that. And I asked the second garage, I never thought about it with the first one, let me reset. I never thought about it, and he said, yeah, if someone was standing back on and like kicked it with their boot, it could easily cause the damage that I'm dealing with. And he said, yeah, don't ride it, he said, the way it is now. If it starts and runs good and whatnot, he said, do not ride it because it will burn out your valves, your valve seals, and your valve lasses or leashes or something, whatever holds your valves in. He said he'll burn up all of that stuff without an exhaust on the bike there. So, he said definitely do not ride it because it will cause way more damage than what I'm currently dealing with. It'll need a top end rebuild, he said, after that. But yeah, man, frustrating nonetheless. I may just go to sleep for the day again, so I don't have to think about it. But then I'm up all bloody late, like I was last night, thinking about it, so I don't know what to do. V01U, KZ, let me reset one time, this is finals, I think, so let me just reset one. I'd like to invite everybody, of course, to stick around for the worldwide friendship net, which will currently be in progress when we get connected to it. I got Dewey here in my lap, he's like laying, sitting on my lap and I'm laying back in the recliner. He's got his head on my chest just purring. I think he can tell I'm stressed out over all this. And he's just got this real big purr going on and it's very soothing in my chest, that real deep purr. Thanks Dewey, little buddy. Maybe you can hear it. I put the handheld down by his mouth and he cuddled his head right into the handheld. Anyway, back over to you, Grey, GreyNet's morning man, really enjoyed it. I particularly enjoyed the current events trivia, because I've been following the news. Someone said last year or something that I shouldn't have an opinion on current issues, where I don't watch the news and I get my news from the reporting of Grey or whatever it was that they said, remember last year or something, or the year before? So I watch the news now and I watch it very closely about what's actually going on and stuff. So I feel that I'm entitled to have an opinion now, at least based on those standards. Back over to you man, V01 UKC. V01 UKC, this is KC2, P-A-C-1. V01 UKC, this is KC2, P-A-G, 73, man. It doesn't help to worry or fume, as you may be doing. Maybe show MAI. There was sort of a bullying incident going on in the background that I was unaware of, because I don't get on the pre-net and I don't stay on for most of the day and stuff like that, but I think you saw it going on. And so I appreciate a heads up at some point, and it's not your fault, but I think it is an issue that we should deal with. So over to you, KC0 MAI. Final thoughts, George? Yeah, KC0 MAI. Yeah, I did say that. I said with all the things, people who have gotten off the air, they're really hearing that. It's dead. A lot of times it's dead. I think that really what needs to be done is that between the leadership of this net, and getting the chance to get more attention. I don't know what to say. I guess somebody can report it and then send it to somebody else, but I don't know. I'm not gonna make that my fault. I'm pretty much not getting on reporting either. I'm not gonna make that my fault. I'm pretty much not getting on reporting either. Um, I really do feel free to wait until, um, what do you find by the extra 100? What do you find by the extra 100? All-Star Note 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. In fact, I've got to, first, let me say one thing, when it comes to this subject, you know, I don't want to see Dorian. I don't want to see the laughing. I don't want to see disrespect. that has a great deal of value for other people. It's just, you know, it's hard. I get upset, I voice my opinion, and it's not, it doesn't do any good, because I, you know, I tend to get rough with my language, so I'm trying to stay away from as much as possible. Anyhow, I hope everybody has a wonderful day, and I will catch you later. KB0MA. KB0MAI George 7-8-3-7, great day. This is KC2-PKG, and we're all defenders of the Caledonia. I got here by the train, went to New York, Buffalo, New York, and then got a car, drove back to Cleveland. Had a big birthday party here. Some family, and then we are gonna head back with the cousins here at Buffalo and hit the train back next week. So that's what's going on here. That's how the, I guess, weekends slash weeks slash days, whatever, it's going that way. Great. You want to know the accomplishment. Wow, I don't know. I'm thinking over my past 80-some years, and one of my, I guess, the first thing that came to my mind is I was so happy. I've ruined a lot of things, fixing them, but that's how you learn how it works. And I'm so happy. I'm so happy to learn how it works. Anyway, I bought a little 56 Chevy when I was a kid, a high school kid. I rented a Shilton's manual out of the library. Check it out. And I read through that thing over the winter, and I rebuilt that car, engine and all, with pistons, oversize pistons, rings, and bearings, all kinds of stuff. Anyway, I didn't know what I was doing, but I took screwdrivers and pulleys and stuff, pulled it apart, and put it back together, and I'll be danged if I didn't have a car for high school. Anyway, this is M0BF. Back to that. M0BF, that's pretty good. That is pretty good. Wow. And it actually ran. You rebuilt the engine. Yeah, the Shilton guides. My god. I was always thumbing my way through a Shilton guide. And they're good. They really are very good. There was a garage in Boston, in Harvard Square. And it was run by two brothers. And they finally got on the radio. And they were on NPR for the longest time. What were they called? I can't remember. Click and Clack the Capit Brothers, they call themselves. And you could go to this garage, and you'd have a full garage with a lift and tools and all that stuff. And they would just rent you that space. Plus, there would always be someone there who knew a lot more than you did about how to do something. So I did replace headlights. I brought it over there and parked it in there, and raised it up a couple of inches so it was easier to work on. And I went through and replaced all the headlights with, well, Krypton bulbs, I believe is what they were. And it was cool. It was like having a brand new car. Although I got stopped by a cop who said I needed to put American lights in it. And I was like, really? So I had to take them out. But they weren't very cool. They were hella halogen. That's what it was. They were hella halogen bulbs. All right, we got down to the bottom of the list. That's the kind of person I really don't want on the dew drop in. I think you can talk about anything. We can talk about sexuality, we can talk politics, we can talk how you like to bathe and take a poo-poo. I don't really care. It makes it interesting. But when we start chasing members away, then we got to start rethinking what we're doing with the nets. Anyhow, that's what my opinion is. Oh, one other thing. A quick reset. So there were several people that viewed, on the last question, viewed it as a secular thought. You called it a skeptical. You're skeptics. Secular and skeptics is two different words in two different meanings. Yes, I can be skeptical about, you know, my friends told me he's going to do it a thousand times and he never does it. So I'm very skeptical that he'll probably do it now. Secular isn't just a totally different way of thinking. It's not skeptical. It's a matter of fact in their minds. I just want to point that out. Back to jet control. KV0MAI. KV0MAI. This is KC2PKG. That's a good thought. I'm glad you mentioned that. You have to be a little more careful. All right. Next up, Josh. KJ5IRQ. Are there things that you should not say on the Kalabunga net? Or is it just open kimono all the time? This is uh, KK0MAI Josh. KJ5IRQ. This is KC2PKG. Well, KJ5IRQ returning. Thank you, KC2PKG. I uh, I think this is a twofold question. I mean, according to your question, are there things that we shouldn't do a say on Kalabunga net? Well, first off, I think we gotta see what we legally can and can't do on ham radio. So, and I think, you know, we all pass the test. We all should know this, but as a general reminder, you know, the things we can't do is stuff like business use, no advertising sales, communications benefiting a business or employer. Can't do that. Uh, here's a pretty big one that says no profanity or affinity. Now, I'm gonna tell you what most of us say on here is profanity, but I'm not the FCC. I figure if they get on the meet for saying it, that's probably when I'll change. Uh, if I, if I say it, I really try not to cuss on the air these days. Uh, no harassment or threats. That's kind of his closer personal. Here, that's done it. No big FCC right here. No harassment or threats. No bullying, intimidation, or violent threats. No music or protected recordings except incidental or public domain Morse code practice. Uh, no decryption or secret codes. No political campaigning. Since you can't talk about politics, it just says you can't campaign, uh, campaign. So if you decide to run for office, don't use the California to, uh, expand your base. Uh, no broadcasting. Ham radio is for two-way communication, not one-way shows to the public. That was kind of hesitant. You know, I, I, I think what we do on here is a type of broadcasting in my mind, but it's not, but I'll be allowing everybody else to talk and it's not one way. So, uh, I think as long as it's two-way communication, we don't have to worry about that. No false emergencies, no jamming, and no out of band transmissions. Those are like the big kids back in the day. And you who have done radio and TV and stuff are older than I probably know this a lot better than I, but I read a story once long, long time ago that the SEC used to enforce, I guess, seven words, 12 words, I think it was how much you heard, to be honest. I don't think that group of words you can't say on TV. Well, I think we've relaxed out a lot on TV. I mean, every other, every other show has, you know, a word in it that you're not supposed to do. So they're going to enforce it better. Should they enforce it on amateur radio? I don't think so. But I'm also not. Now, as far as the cariboungernet, I think, you know, since the cariboungernet is what it is, a network of radios and nodes that pass through a couple of gateways, I'm going to take a real quick break. The individuals are in control of those repeaters. What's possible for those across there. They're gonna get that. I mean, we all know that. That's where we get, or we should say, Bill and Bill. That's where they get to say, no, we can't have that. They don't like it. They don't get to join us because it feels like they're in trouble. So that's probably more than what you needed to know. But I think it's important every so often to go over do's and don'ts. If I get another chance today, I'll go over the do's. KJ5 IRQ back to KC2 PKG. KJ5 IRQ, I'm really glad I asked this question. Doing some really solid answers. It's great. This is KC2 PKG, and we're gonna pass that question over to AA4 HO. Ron, what are some things that you just shouldn't do on the go? This is KC2 PKG. Over to you, AA4 HO. Yeah, I have a couple of things, but I put up with a lot of stuff because basically, I've had to bring up the worst. And I'm not in charge of this now. And I want to remain, you know, a user in good standing. So I'll be careful with what I say and not make too much of an issue out of stuff that, you know, I don't particularly think that that should be said. You know, for instance, you know, when you're talking about a specific topic, and then somebody will attack that topic with the identity of someone, a leader of a country, you know, because then, you know, it's basically, you couldn't do that in debating because this is what blues automatics means. We're not debating or anything, we're just, you know, having fun and I'm passing the time in the morning. So, you know, it goes that way, it goes that way. It's not going to stop me from coming here. I've been on Reddit before, and I think you might have heard me mention this. I ended up, even though I had some really good stuff there to make issue with the way things are going, and they didn't automatically, I just get that on a trust. I get negative karma, is what they called it on Reddit. And I'm sure that that account, I don't go there anymore, is probably broke a record for the most negative feedback that's ever, I mean, it's like a negative number that, you know, it's a three digit song. So I'm probably banned from posting anything there anyway. So whatever, you know, happens, I'll probably go with it, whatever anybody decides and abide by, even if I don't completely agree with it. AA4HO, this is KC2PKG. Alright, so like that just rolls right off your back. So you weren't saying these are some things that we should not do. I thought the reading from the FCC, I guess that was part 97, talks about harassment and that is something that's an eye of the beholder. Alright, let's go down to N0BF. Steve, if you can still hear us as you roll down the road, are there certain things that we just should not say or do on the CalabungaNet? Which pretty freewheeling group? Oh yeah, subjects of all kinds, but are there some things that we need to stay away from or just not do? It's over to you, N0BF, this is KC2PKG. Alrighty, KC2PKG, N0BF, just leaving Elkhart, Elkhart is in Indiana? Ha, Elkhart, Indiana, that's where they make all the trailers. Anyway, so we're just leaving there toward Chicago. Update on the train. Things not to say, well, yeah, you said part 97 pretty much lays it out, so just to find there, that's where the beginning is and I'm sure that's all been interpreted by laws and whatnot. No music, no commercial business, those kind of things. You know, I still remember that flirting it when I was a kid, 13 years old, 65 years ago. Anyway, so I still try to stick to that and anyway, I also tried to, you know, looking at the negative side, part 97, but on the positive side, what I try to put my efforts in on at radio is to learn about every aspect that I can. Like I do a lot of remote control and I'm doing just, what if anybody out here has an M1KV little setup, it's a microphone with all the kind of digital radio built inside of it, D-Star being one, which I do and I think this might work. Anyway, so that's another question I've got, but anyway, I may do that, I travel so much. Anyway, so a lot of things to talk about, I also focus on the basis of ambient radio being for emergency communication, so I always try to learn whenever I can. To that end, back to that, ends your OPM. All right, all right, another champion for part 97, that's good, that's good. PM1X, it was during your net of all nets that I went through all those feelings. What do you think, what shouldn't you say? But you know, I do wish that we had or people had to delete switch that Dean was talking about. Because there's a bunch of things live, I'd like to have not seen quite a few things. One of which we talked about on the net yesterday, we talked about a lot of different things with the etiquette of dealing with the royal family and talked about what is Antifa and we talked about what we could do if sending troops into Gaza would be a good idea or not. But one one final question I asked because and I never heard a reaction like mine, and that was about the Charlie Kirk Memorial. I found it frightening. I really did. It was threatening and frightening. And well, and to be honest, you know, I saw the Stephen Miller speech, and that was the only whole speech I saw live. After that, I said, I don't want to watch any more of this. This is because that was really threatening and really scary. And then, you know, I read some clips of what the President said. It's really cool. When I was running R&D for Crumb & Forstner & Company, this was early in the days of desktops and laptops. Our job was to find the right models for the whole company to buy. We recommended some that we shouldn't have, and we got much tougher about the whole thing. One of the laptop tests we went through was we would leave it under the back window in a sedan in the parking lot in the sun. We'd leave it there all day long until it got almost too hot to touch. Then we would bring it in and fire it up. We didn't have a chance to find anything. We had a refrigerator, we could put it in the refrigerator for a while and see if it would fire up and stuff like that. We ended up going with, do you remember grid laptops? Some of them went down with a space shuttle. They were tough. They had titanium cases. They were very tough. Even though you could barely touch it with your hands, it would still fire up. We said this is the one to get. You never know how somebody's going to treat a business laptop. It had to be slammed around, it had to be packed or unpacked, used on the airplane, ripped out of the wall, all that stuff. That was the one that really worked. Those are the ones that we went with.
