And yeah, it's really fun. The graphics are nice. You get a whole bunch of different ballparks to pick from. And yeah, it's just a really fun game. See, I'll send you the name of that. I played it for like three hours last night. I think I might have played six games or something last night. I think it's 119 games or something I've got to play altogether for the whole series or the whole season. But you play them at your own pace. So, it's all good. Back over to you, man. I'll send you the name of that there now on Facebook. I just, uh, I'm not... Well, I'm pretty sure it's cool, but now I can't put it... I can't say it's that safe. It's gotten my heart drive going, I don't know. I hope my shooting out man is not on me. But when it's gone, look. It's like, boy, I need to get a couple more things. I can't do it. I can't do it. I call it the KC2PAD and then you get back to me. KV9-MSK, this is KC2PKT. Sennheiser. They're the people who first developed the super light headphones. And that's knowledge from probably 50 years ago. Or more. They have always been super high quality stuff. They really have. I remember seeing those really light headphones. Because you used to be the big cups that went over your ears. And you'd have coss or something like that. But the Sennheisers were open air. And they had great sound. They were just fantastic sound. And they just discovered something. They thought what they may think is a beautiful house. It's low kilo 7 November. I don't know how much you guys know about lithium. Lithium is used to do all sorts of stuff in the brain. Obsessive compulsive disorder is good for that. But apparently it pays a big part in memory. And keeping your brain free of amyloid plaques and all the other things that come with all sorts. And so they have already done preliminary experimentation with it. And in mice it improved their brain function tremendously. So you can look forward to some lithium in your future possibly. Which is good because Alzheimer's is really scary. Really scary. All of a sudden you don't know anybody who's around you. Which is so weird. Back to you Russell. K9NSK. This is KC2 BKG. I go on, I go there. See you again. The other thing sure, if anybody knows what your question was. But we've answered questions again too. And maybe someone might know what you're talking about. So that indeed. Maybe somebody might know the answer you want and what for. And then you get back to me Pete. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah we didn't get any audio from Dee. Although she would keep down for quite a while. I do have a comment on her question. Go ahead man. You know, so I think the question was how do we all talk if the FCC says you can't talk. The FCC says you can't use UHF or VHF for anything but official functions and stuff like that. I've been watching a lot of the development of small networks. Everybody has a wifi router. And you can use those to move traffic around. And potentially move it all the way around the world. Just using bouncing from one wifi router to the next. So I would be very interested in trying to create a new sublayer of communication between all hands. Because I've had the same question for a long time. In other words if this goes out and for some reason we can't get on this then what can we do? Well, I think the answer is networks. Networks done in patches. So that's my comment. This is KC2BKG over to you. And sorry I wanted to hear what Dee had to say. This is KN4LDF. This is Dee's comment. Go ahead Dee. This is KN4LDF. This is Dee. And yeah I didn't realize my mic was off. I can see the thing moving now. And great that's exactly what I was talking about. I was looking into mesh. I was looking into all kinds of stuff. And they required some kind of internet or satellite. And part of my question is if the satellite was down and that other one was down. That other part. So that was one of the parts that I was talking about. But you basically have what I was thinking about. I looked into mesh. It's very expensive but it still needs some kind of internet stuff I believe. I'm not sure I believe. And the other thing was for darrow. Darrow you have that white headset. And I was looking at it and one time I bought something that was a color that I did not like. And someone suggested to me well make it your own. So what she suggested was for me to take like a 1 by 1 inch of whatever my favorite thing was. And my favorite thing was Pup Pups. Puppies. So I took a 1 inch thing of mine and put it on what I want. It did not hurt the thing. So if you like sports you would put a logo. Or if you like whatever it is you make whatever the item is of your own. By putting 1 inch stickers that you could eventually remove and just clear out the debris with alcohol or whatever. And it wouldn't hurt your headset. I don't think it would. But that was what I'm saying. If it's all white maybe you make it your own with your own sports logo. Or whatever the case may be. Anyway this is KN4LBS."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T05:03:34+00:00","id":16073,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16072,"text":" everybody participating in the tower bunking in on the two drop in. I was responding to some things here. I had to do a little writing. And actually it's a little wet and overcast and the temperature dropped really low. In the Atlantic it's getting a little active and I height the map up right now. It's a little disconcerting because there's one disturbance that came off the coast of Africa. They usually take a while but this one developed into something really fast. However, when I go to my radar, you know, on the National Hurricane map, they forecast that turning north. So that's good. Right about now is when there's going to be any activity for the year it starts. There's two light disturbances but they're too far north. And heading out towards Greenland to be a much of a concern. It's just this recent one. So let's see, I got my motor delivered from Amazon yesterday, my stepper motor. And it's been perfect. I got it all packed together and my stars are bursting again. And the nebula in the background changes colors. It's undulating again. You know, it was just like you would turn it on without the motor. And then the stars would just stay stagnant. And then you could see the ripples of the nebula in the background. I mean, that was so good. But I liked that one. I probably spent more money fixing it than what I thought it but I can't replace it because they don't make it anymore. And the one that I bought to replace it, I don't like. So that one I'm going to give away. And I bought even a better one. So I'm going to keep the two and give one away. AJ4HO, I'm near North Florida. Sorry to hear it. You know, you were having vandalism problems. That's never fun. Thanks, Brian. AJ4HO, this is KC2PKG. I'm really glad that you got your rejection lamp back. It's all repaired. How do you do it yourself? We're all proud of you. Very good. Ah, W-E-2-A. Nice to hear you this morning. Are you on the road this week or are you home? This is KC2PKG over at W-E-2-A. Good morning, Gray and the assembled group here. No, on the road. Before Josh finished his transmission, I was already up to 70 miles an hour. I'm going to take the cruise set and it'll stay set for 60 more miles until I get down to Syracuse and have to get off Interstate 81 and get on to Interstate 90 heading west. But I just turned it on. I heard you calling and I was going to wait to check in because I had to go through the gears and get out of the industrial park where I pick up my trailer. But I thought, oh, I hate to see somebody struggle. So I just tagged along there with Josh and Ron. I am going to be a one and done. I got a bunch of other stuff to do this morning, but I thought, well, I got a couple of minutes. I'll stop in and punch my ticket and let everybody know I'm still alive. Had a good weekend, just like everybody else. It was a little hot. But the good thing about it getting hot is my yard is as hard as a rock. So in the next couple of weeks when I rent the man lift to put my beam up, it won't put big dents in my lawn. I'm putting my beam up. I'll reset real quick. It got kind of put on the back shelf. I had a project, a simple, in air quotes, project for my wife. That's what she called it. And then she kept changing the requirements for the simple project. So now I'm a month plus in with over $1,000 on her simple project. But hey, got to keep her happy. I got just one more thing to do on it, and then I'm going to put a hold on her project. I want to get those in. I want to get my beam up and some stuff changed around on my tower before snow starts flying. So that's what's kicking here. And I hope everybody has a great day. Like I said, I'm on my way to Dutteetway. W-E-2-A. This is KC2PKT. I'm Kelly Schmidt. And you're about to get a man lift. I guess you've run one before. Or you're getting an operator as well. Let us know that. Would you come to the W-E-2-A? What do you know? Oh, no. I'm not going to be somebody to run that thing. I mean, you can drive a car or play a video game. You can run a man lift. I've driven them and run them before. I used to haul them. I've taken them on and off trailers. I've used them before at different places. It's pretty simple. Renting a 70-foot reach, man lift. The top of the tower is 65. So I don't want to be putting a ladder in it. The difference between a 60-footer and a 70-footer is like 10 bucks a day. And so I'm just going to have them. Well, I have to talk to them because my boss has a trailer that we can use to haul it ourselves. So if I can save a couple hundred bucks in delivery fee, I'll just have my boss bring it out to me. He said he'd do it for nothing. So I'm going to rent it for a week. And in addition to the tower work I have to do, I've got a bunch of arboreal work to do, a bunch of tree work that I need to get done. And it's much safer and easier with a lift. And so I'm just going to \u2013 if I rent it for three days, a three-day rental is more than a one-week rental. So I'm just going to rent it for the week. And that would not rush. And I can take my time and do things right. My grandsons and my son are going to give me an A in what I'm doing at work. So I've got a work crew. But there you go, great. That's a P2A. Well, that's fantastic, W2A. This is KC2PKG. I've been looking at or just staring at an array, a steerable array of antennas that I want to put up on top of my garage. And I've had that project that's been there for like three years. And I keep thinking to myself, I should just go get a man lift and do it. But there's also Elliot. He has a bucket truck, which I think could do the job. The hard part of the job is the central pole in the whole system weighs 135 pounds. It's lithium steel and it's really heavy. So you definitely need some kind of mechanical assistance to get it up there. And then it has to be mounted and all this stuff. I should get out of my own way on that project. All right, let's see if there's anybody else out there. We've taken Pat off course. Thank you so much, Pat, for joining us. It's wonderful to hear you. But if you'd like to join us, then come down with your call sign. This is KC2PKG. And I understand it's Monday morning. It's called For All Mankind and it's about a colony on Mars and the moon. So it kind of traces where the space race is going. That's a For All Mankind. I would definitely recommend it. It's good. To answer Bill's question, Bill, the boat you're talking about is the Madam and that is a 14-foot, 800-pound runabout with a 50-horsepower engine on it. The props aren't anything special. It's just way overpowered and it has a cable steering and that's illegal in Maine. If anything over 40 horsepower has to have a hydraulic steering because the cables can snap. But people make up rules about stuff. What do I carry? I just got, I carry a bag. It's really a fanny pack, but I wear it over my shoulder and cross my back and I just got a new one. I didn't know if it was going to be perfect or not, but we were in Walmart and I found it and it's a little bit bigger than my old one. It's from Ozark Trail and that is jam-packed with car keys and iPads and checkbooks and wallets and passports, pens, that kind of stuff. I tend to carry a lot of junk. In my pocket, I have a Swiss Army knife. It's like the primer version. It's big, nice big blade on it and stuff like that. I never go anywhere without that. As a matter of fact, I keep losing them at airports, so I have to go buy another one because I live with it. I never take it out of my pocket. I kind of get better at throwing it in a suitcase, that kind of stuff. As for flashlights, every jacket I own, every vest I own has a flashlight in it. So I don't really have to think about it and I have one on my belt. A little tiny one, a little tiny orange one because I live in Maine and it gets dark, really dark and there's no lighting from nearby cities and you walk out of your house at 9 o'clock at night and it's pitch black. So I have a flashlight in every jacket and every vest. Let me see, I talked about the madam. Yeah, the boat I was on yesterday is a 40-foot Bayliner. It sleeps six, has two bathrooms. First, let me tell you about the 20 books. That was, I often bought more than that, but they're only paperbacks. So I could fill a backpack or a suitcase up with them, no problem. And the bookstore in Penn Station was cheap, so it would cost me my $20 traveling money to load up for the entire semester. And I kept them for years and years and years until I married less. And she was very much about getting rid of old books, which by the way, it's hard to do. Nobody wants them. What you end up doing is selling to the Lupus Foundation and they grind them up. But libraries don't, especially paperbacks, that kind of stuff, no. So I had, I think, 6,000 books in my library, mostly paperbacks, and they went out. They went out to front door box by box and I could actually get into my office again. It's pretty weird. It has been a tough week and it's pointed out to me that some people on the Net have a really difficult time listening to understand and not listening to respond. My son bought the house, I don't know, five years ago. No, more like six or seven years ago. And he's got an electric hot water heater. It's the only thing in what we call the basement, which is really just a hole full of dirt in the ground and that water heater. And the problem with water heaters is there's no indicator saying I'm about to blow or I've got a problem, except when you see water underneath them. So that's always a pain. So my rule of thumb is if it's older than 10 years, time to look at a new one. Because they can be dangerous. They can be really dangerous when they go. But if you keep up with it, they have a valve, an emergency valve on the top that you should bring in a bucket and put that under the outflow and then press that handle every once in a while just to clean it all out. Because if that won't release, you can get into real trouble. But good ones are leaking. That's interesting. I've got filters. This is the first house I've had with water filters in it. And I have to get better at changing them. But we'll see. We'll see going forward. Good luck with that. And that too, yeah, sometimes it's just simpler to pull it. We're supposed to get real old in here. And getting in and out of a bathtub is dangerous business, it really is. The other thing is they're just not very satisfying. Once you're older than four years old and you can't float in the middle of the bathtub anymore, they lose all their charm. It's not much fun. So we did that. And we all will have showers. I pissed off the contractor one time, because I'm down in Jersey and he's telling me about what he did today and all that stuff. And they put an edge at the edge of the shower area, you know, to help keep the water and stuff like that. And I said, okay, tear those out. We don't want any trip hazards. It has to be absolutely smooth floor that goes into the shower. And he got mad at me, but he did it. And that was good. I'm glad I caught it in time too. And the showers are big. I mean, you can put a big shower in where, you know, the floor space is taken up by the shower. And I just, you know, I just don't like bathtubs. I never have. And we were in a place down in New York, our last trip. And they had this micro miniature bathroom. And I never realized, you know, why it was so closed in and stuff like that. And it was so thin that the curve made it really hard to stand up in it. So it was pretty wild. Anyway, no tubs in my house, only showers. This is KC2BKG. But it doesn't sound like, from the opinions that I'm listening to, it's really extra legal activity and you're not, you know, he's not supposed to be doing that. And is he acting like, you know, an autocrat? Yeah, he is. I think he is when you start using the tools of government. I mean he can fire anybody he wants. He is the executive, the prime executive. Everybody in the administration works for him. And so he can get rid of people. Now they've got contracts and stuff. You know, they've got to be fired for cause. He can't just, I don't like your face. You know, he shouldn't be able to do that. Although, I don't like your politics. That's pretty close to I don't like your face. So we'll see. And he's been stopped in a couple of places so far. But like I said, I think it might be coming to a head. But it may not be right away. KC2PKT. This is repeater station. Yeah, it seems to me like Gray, like he's running the country like a dictator. I mean, it's the same thing. Like you said, I don't like your face. I don't like your politics. It's the same thing. You shouldn't be able to fire opposition. I mean, that's why opposition is there in the first place. You know, to oppose and keep in check the government that's in control, right? And he's basically firing opposition. Anybody that has anything to say against Trump, anybody that's got anything to say against this man, you're fired. And he's been doing this crap since he had that bastardous TV show where he fires someone every week. It's like the same thing again. It's like he got a taste of that when he was a game show host. And I was just like, well, lucky to hell, we all fire you. Like everybody in government is scared right now because their job, you know? Yeah, like my brother just said, he wants his puppets in there. And the ones that are going to say, yes, sir, yes, Mr. Trump. Now, you're cracking up in the head, you orange menace. That's what I'd freaking say to him. You're Trump-y dump-ty. Anyway, let's see if Bill is back with us. Les just told me that they're starting to close down rural hospitals. This is one of our big worries up here. The nearest city hospital is two hours away. So there's an emergency room two hours away in Bangor. If they shut down the smaller rural hospitals that we have around here in West Virginia, not West Virginia, but Virginia, three of them are closing down. So you're gonna see in the next month or so, probably a government shutdown. They're gonna try and stop the continuing resolution to fund the government. The Democratic senators are probably gonna do that. And it's over this, it's over the big cuts in Medicaid and Medicare. They don't wanna let those go. And that's gonna be responsible for a lot of little hospitals across United States. Rural hospitals can't afford to run. There are enough trouble as it is trying to run. But if they cut down the eligibility for Medicare, if they cut down the funds for Medicare, they're just gonna close up shop. And that's really awful. That affects my choice in table sauce because I can't afford to cut off a finger and then drive for two hours. So it's gonna hit all my neighbors too. So I'm hoping that they can come to some kind of accommodation. They don't actually have to shut the government down. They can get that funding put back in again. But we'll see, we will see. I bet they have one, I'm sure. State Banquets in Britain traditionally have two savory courses and two sweet courses. The last, the one actually called dessert, is fruit. We don't know the Royal Family's preferred recipe for spotted dick, which is sort of a steamed cake with currants in it, but Martha Stewart has one. All right, guys. Your etiquette has improved.
