Hey, Paul. Yeah, good afternoon, Jack and everyone on the net. We've had a beautiful day here in Maine. It's 80 degrees. Yeah, it's 80. The sunny and calm wind and low humidity can't beat that. Yeah. And we haven't had any more Canadian smoke since the weekend. So that's a good thing. Monday, it was pretty bad. And I've kind of been off the radio more this past week because my wife took a spill. And she fractured three vertebrae and a rib. So she was home for a bit. So I was helping her. And she's able to go back to work in the last couple of days. So she's doing better. Still sore. The doctor said it's just rest. Take it easy. Don't list anything. Just favor it as much as you can. And she has a desk job. So she's patting her chair and stuff. So she's doing OK. Not perfect, but OK. Better than she was. So yeah, that was an unfortunate thing. But yeah, we're celebrating her birthday this weekend. So that'll cheer her up with a lobster dinner. That's what we're going to do. Anyway, we're going to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Hope you do too, Jack. Have a great day. And we'll talk again soon. This is KC1DQS. All right, yeah, I think, no, I'm not sure you mentioned that your wife had the spill there. Oh, that's a bummer. Oh, boy. All right, so she's got the desk job. She's getting back to work. Or she had a limited schedule. Does she have the ability to take some personal time off if she needs? Yeah, she does have sick leave. And she did take some of that. She actually fell off our dock and landed on rocks. And that's what did the injury. And it was a wound shear. She put a little too much weight on it. And the chair gave way. And both of them ended up off the dock. So that was not fun. And she did take some time. But she's trying to save as much as she can. Because the end of the 23rd, she goes on vacation for two weeks. And she's trying not to cut into that time. Because she's not ever had two weeks in a row before. And she's really looking forward to this. So she says if she can grin and bear it, she's going to try to see it through. And the doctor said there's no limitations as long as you. Lifting is a bad thing. And not a lot of walking. That kind of bothers her. But sitting doesn't so much. And as long as she can tolerate that, the doctor said she's fine. So there's nothing that's going to come out of place. It's all just mostly cracks or fractures. And nothing is just lodged or anything. So anyway, hopefully that will help. And the only painkiller she's on is Tylenol. And she takes that regularly. And that does help. So yeah, it was one of those freak things that happened. And you never know. So back to you, Jack. KC1-VQS. Hey, I7RMU with the new net here on the PSR. Do you hear Peter in Seattle, Washington? Well, Paulie, you did mention that. Yes, indeed. Yeah, yeah. As soon as you mentioned the dock and the rocks, oh boy. It all came flooding back. Well, you take care of her. And boy, that's really something. She's really lucky that it's not worse. That's for sure. And she's still able to get out on her vacation. Just take it easy. Well, I guess take some books. Take your Kindle. Have your phone nearby. And maybe you can rent a pedal, one of those petticaps. That would be kind of fun. Or something similar to that. And you'd be able to take a run on that somehow. I don't know. Well, anyway, you'll let us know. And that's really great. I'm glad that she's able to still build. All right. Well, Paulie, you have a great afternoon. Thank you for coming by. And all the best to you and your wife, of course. K6PKL. Hey, Bill. What's happening with you? Oh, I'm just sitting here lounging right now. Bubba, I need to get up. I want to mention to you about, or you said 3 million internationally, about having a ham license. And you know, when I listened into the WorldNet on TalkGroup 91 on Saturday, we have Check-In now, which is up over 500. OK, so. And that's from all over the world. And what my register in my AnyTone now has about 220,000 users in there. And that means whenever they transmit, well, it comes up and it gives me information about their location, their name and all that stuff on the screen on the AnyTone. And that will hold 500,000. So I can see that we're seeing this. And as fast as I load in the new database in there, which takes probably about 5, 10 minutes. But anyway, generally, I come on there and within a few days, I see new Check-Ins because it will just show there are no call. You have to register a number. You probably know that in DMR to be able to even access the repeater. It won't even recognize you unless you have an ID number. So anyway, I thought I'd mention that. Yeah, our hobby continues to say really vibrant K6P Hill. Well, it truly is the hobby of the thousand, the hobbies as K7DRQ famously said. That's Quentin, of course. So yeah, it's really just amazing hobby. And it's a great service as well. So many different aspects. And we like them all, even though we haven't tried them. And sometimes we haven't even heard of them. But when we hear something new, you go, wait, what's that? I got to look that up. OK. Anyway, all right, Bill. You have a great afternoon. Thanks for checking in today. Let's see what else is out there. Let's do, let's see what time is it? 1252. I think I'll do last call then for the new net. I'm Jack KI7RM. You're on the PSR gear, two meter repeater here in Seattle, Washington. So command call sign name, last call. WFM. JFM. John. John, I've got you. We also have Greg, or should I say Sir Greg, November 4, Romeo Alpha India, Sir Greg is on the list. We've got Denis out there in County Durham, the land of the Prince Bishop's 2E1GFL. Denis, good to see you there. We've got a brand new check-in all the way from Anchorage, Alaska. I was going to say something else. Anyway, Anchorage, Alaska, that's of course where Anchorage is. And so, there's a brand new check-in to this net. I've heard of another net, but thank you so much for being on this one. You're on the list, that is. KK4RYG, WB9CSP, always from Texas. We do have Richard there. Will is out there in Oklahoma, KJ5GWN, good to see you there my friend. And KC1VQS is checked in. That's Paul from Enfield, Maine. And then we come to the podium. And in third place today is Victor Echo 6 Delta Charlie. Victor, who's short time? There was another short time there. I need to go and remind myself who that was. I'll do that shortly. And in second place today folks, man, I'll tell you, you know, our friend Thomas out there, he's all the kind of circus skills guy and all the rest. And somehow he pulled maybe some kind of circus magic out there. But anyway, in second place today is our friend Declan in Newport, South Wales, 2Whiskey0, Kilo Yankee Hotel, because right at the top was Thomas there, Mike 7, Lee Michael. I'll say magical. Okay, good stuff. Okay, with that, I'm going to go to the short time stations first. The first one was Dave. That's DJ Dave out there in Calgary, Alberta, also known as Victor Echo 6 Delta Charlie. But Simon thanks for being there and you take care my friend. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe, stay well. And we always thank you there. So good stuff Simon. Thank you so much. Let's go on to Paul out there in Enfield, Maine. That is Kewe, Charlie, 1, Victor, Quebec, Sierra and Paul who I know he's retired back I think on the 13th of June. But you know I heard Paul check into another net just recently and already the start of a new school term. He's back in there doing supply, teaching and everything else. So I think he touched the headset and he's ready to come back. So once I've finished talking to our friend Paul there, we'll come back to you, Simon. No problem at all. But Paul, thank you, thank you so much. And I was so much looking forward to your puppy report, I have to say. And I think it says Riga, the golden retriever. And yeah, I think he said she's about 10 weeks old. Of course, we can now do comparison puppy notes because of course we've got our fox friend Labrador Odin who's sound asleep next to me just now which is quite fantastic. It's kind of unique. Normally he's zooming around the place and everything else and we're trying to, I'm not going to say trying to catch him, but he just wants to play all the time. But he's sleeping just now, so thankfully he's sleeping. That's good. And we're having so much fun as well with puppy Odin who's now 17 weeks old. And we do have him signed up for puppy training. He's got a seven week block of classes coming up starting just in a couple of weeks time. But that will be fun. But the thing is, he's just not obedient. He knows everything. He can sit, he can stay, he can lie down. He can even heal. He comes round to heal very, very well. He can walk very nicely at heal and stay close and everything else. He does all these things, but only when he wants to. And the man will tell you, he's got so much energy. I don't know Paul. I'm just constantly tired these days. Man, I'll tell you, I think this must be just about maybe \u2013 we'd have to go back. We've been here for about five and a half years. Maybe have to go back and just see is that the shortest first day check-in ever, ever, ever? Maybe not in the early days, but certainly towards the later. So there we go. There it is everybody. That's fine though. That's okay. Anybody else wants a check-in? We will be going for another round of check-ins soon, but not quite yet because on the list we do have in reverse order a couple of eight-window check-ins from early doors. KC8, FTV, our friend Mark out there in Ohio. Hi Mark. You're on the list. Our friend Paul out there in Enfield, Maine. KC1, VQS, Paul. You're on the list. And on the podium we have Rich out there in Aris, Texas. WB9, CSP, Rich. You're on the list. It's called 7 Mike Bravo Hotel all the way from the land of the Prince of Bishops. Of course, Mike is there. Good to see you sir. You're on the list and on the podium with a silver medal but in gold position, top of the podium, top of the net. So that will be another few weeks, I guess, until she gets the rabies, especially. But she's got two more rounds of vaccinations to go, and then we'll be doing something formally. But we don't have the older dog. We don't have, she passed away, well, it will be two years ago this coming January. So we were hoping that we would get this dog and have the two of them for a little bit, but it didn't work out that way. So we thought the older dog would certainly be a help and hoping to train the puppy, but it just wasn't meant to be. So we're doing what we can from a lot of training videos that we've had and we've read about and we've watched, and then we'll do some formal classes. My wife would like to look into getting her trained and certified as a therapy dog because she works at a skilled nursing facility where they have short-term and long-term care. They have therapy dogs come in a lot, and the residents there just love them, and she would like to be able to take her to work with her like once a week. But that's down the road a piece, but that's kind of where the formal training is going to go. So back to you, Graham. This is KC1-VQS. They'd like to do a funny thing here, but never mind. Okay, Paul, thank you so much and thanks for the critical report. Yeah, you know, these puppies do kind of grow and of course, Riga, I do believe it's a lab retriever. So, yeah, they grow so quick. You know, Odin is already, he's now 17 and a half, nearly 18 kilograms. Honestly, he's growing, growing so quick and every day we kind of wake up and go, look at the size of that dog. Where's our puppy gone? Somebody's taken the puppy and put him in this big dog. So, anyway, but no, he's growing so, so quick. So, yeah, 17 and a half, I think probably 18 by now, kilograms. So, he was weighed just last week. So, he's probably 18 plus now and he just keeps on growing. So, I don't know how big he's going to be. Is he going to be as big as the last Labrador layered back? I don't know. I think he'll be at least as big, maybe even bigger. So, we'll just have to wait and see. But, yeah, you probably heard the traffic. We're starting a puppy training on Monday there and the class we're going to has other different activities throughout the week as well that we can go and attend as well. So, just different socializing and different bits and pieces. But he's been out and about so, so much. But, OK, there we go. We'll have to go and see. I don't know if you're planning doing any kind of formal puppy training with classes or anything else. You just do it all in-house. But we're going to give it a go with Odin and just see if that can kind of complement what training we're doing in-house as well. So, we'll just have to wait and see. So, any plans for Riga there? For going to puppy classes? Just keep it all in-house and you and your older dog and everything else can lead by example and help Riga grow into a wonderful, wonderful retriever there. So, I don't know. Any plans for formal classes? KC1, VQS, and just be nosy now, Paul. So they're about 12, which is alright for this time of night, I've got to say. Not too bad at all. So yeah, there we go. Hope all has been going well up with you, Graham. I feel like I've been repeating a few things, so I'm going to go ahead and pass it back to you before I run out of things to say completely from 2wiskey0, Kilo Yaki Hotel. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. Well Deguin, thank you so much for being there, and obviously for being the top of the podium, top of the net, your kind of usual normal place. Although I have to say, if you won VQS or friend poly, it wasn't too far behind you. I think you got 2wiskey out to my ears anyway, of course, everybody might hear it differently, but I heard a very clear 2wiskey, and then I did hear something else, of course it was KC1 VQS. So Paul you weren't too far away there, sir, but no you made it in, but you've got a few challengers out there in Deguin, you know. So people are out there trying to kind of knock you off that perch that you're so used to, and that's always good fun, it's always good fun. So yeah, there we go. You don't mind a little bit of misbehaviour at the start of the night, but good stuff. And Deguin, I don't think I've got any big questions for you at all this week, so yeah, it's just been quite a quiet week. And you mentioned the weather there, and I'm happy to report that the weather across here in the UK for the next few days, maybe some many days, is going to be quite settled with high pressure, kind of just looking after us. Not too much wind, lots of sunshine, and some cloud and fog, but I think the rain is going to leave us for a wee while, so that will be fantastic. So yeah, and we're looking forward to a wee trip up to my mother's tomorrow there, Deguin, and up to the capital of the Highlands where I was born, up to Inver Snecke by the sea, also known as Inverness. And yes, so my mum turned 92 yesterday, 92, and she's still going strong, out partying with all the neighbours and everything else. Man, I'll tell you, if I'm like her at 92, I'll be not too bad whatsoever. But anyway, we're heading up tomorrow to see my mum, so a wee day trip, but I'm looking forward to that. And Paul, if you don't mind, please give a scotch or squeeze to your wee rigga there, and of course, Cairo. And if you don't mind, even a wee scotch or squeeze to Sandra and fine, not for myself and Helen. So thanks again, Paul. You guys, you take care. Have a great weekend, and we'll talk to you again very soon. So we'll say 7 to 3 to KC1 VQS. And we're still on the podium with a bronze medal today. It's Mark out there in Aurora, Ohio. You know, Paul, it's something that myself and Helen are always kind of anxious about when we're driving around the roads here. We know that dogs in cars, they love the windows to be open. They stick their head out and their ears go flapping back and everything else. And you know, you even see it when people are doing quite a high speed. It's not good for the dog's eyes, that's for sure. It definitely is not. So I heard you mention goggles for dogs there, and that's certainly a very good idea. Having them, you know, they can really upset their corneas and other things, and infections, whatever. So here we go. That's just a little public service announcement and looking after your dog's eyes when you're on the road. Or an ATV around all these various bits and pieces. That sounds like lots of fun. Paul, let me throw it back to you, sir. From GM0AB back to KC1 VQS."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-21T12:19:50+00:00","id":65935,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":65934,"text":" KC1VQS, Paul are you still there?"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-13T12:33:55+00:00","id":59837,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":59836,"text":" Okay, now don't forget, huh? I'm gonna want that slice of pie. Okay, well maybe a Molson next time or something, anyway. All right, Dave, have a great afternoon. Thanks for dropping by. Great to hear you today. All right, let's see who's up next. I believe we've got KC-1 VQS. Hey, Paul Enfield, Maine."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-13T12:36:21+00:00","id":59841,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":59840,"text":" Yeah, it's an abandoned rail bed. So they've taken the rails up and it's turned into a multi-purpose trail and it was over in more of the central part of Maine. We had to take them by trailer. We went with friends too. We had to take them by trailer and drive about an hour and it was 20, some almost 30 miles, 28 miles I think, I don't know, something like that one way. And we stopped to have lunch at this awesome country restaurant that had outdoor seating because we both had dogs with us so we had to stay outside. And that worked out really well but it was a pretty smooth trail, fairly flat, and went right through by some lakes and streams and some things, you know, bridges that we crossed that were made specially for ATVs and snowmobiles, that kind of thing. And the foliage was beautiful. It was really, I was hoping it wasn't past peak, I thought it would be but it wasn't. It was really nice. So it was a very nice ride indeed. Back to you Chad, KC1 VQS."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-24T13:23:23+00:00","id":67915,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":67914,"text":" Well, very good Paul. We're excited to see, myself and Helen, we've always rescued dogs and things. Some of them had various issues and you had to watch just maybe where you took them, what you exposed them to, whether it may be a little bit reactive to certain things. We didn't mind that. We molded our lives into the dog. We've done that for so, so many years. This time around, this is the first time we've got our own puppy and we're hoping that we don't make too many mistakes and that Oden can just fit in with our lifestyle and just come with us for everything we do. So far, so good. He's young. He's got a lot of maturing to do, but he is just only five months, nearly six months, maybe six months next week, actually next weekend. So yes, six months next week. It's going to be Halloween, so we all have to get dressed up for the net next week. And it's a six-month birthday party for Oden as well. So there we go. Anyway, Paul, thank you, thank you so much. And you take care. And when you're talking about your ATV there and the seat belt and the goggles and everything else, I'm thinking we need to see that. If you have access to our International Radio Network Facebook page at some point for observing, you've got the time, it would be great to see a picture of Vega there all set up on the ATV. That would be fantastic. So good stuff. In fact, Helen did post up some Halloween pictures of Oden on our International Radio Network Facebook page today folks. So go ahead and check that out. So good stuff. Anyway Paul, 73 to you sir. And like I say, give all the whole family there a wee Scottish squeeze. That would be amazing. I look forward to speaking to you again very soon. Take care sir. Have a great weekend. And say 73 to KC1 VQS. And say a big hello to 2WhiskeyZero Kilo Yankee Hotel. It's Declan who normally doesn't have to wait to come onto the net, but today he has because he's only, only got a silver medal. But there's been a rare thing in his collection. He's full of gold, but there's a little bit of silver for you there today Declan. Declan how are you sir? 2WhiskeyZero Kilo Yankee Hotel. Welcome. Happy Friday Declan. The mic is yours."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-15T12:39:30+00:00","id":61190,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":61189,"text":" James, WQ 7H, go ahead. I'm sorry, I had to run across the room. It caught me. I'm such a bad, putty cat. WQ 7H, I'm James. Well, today was, you got to shop for insurance today. Look at that beautiful sky out there. Forget about the insurance. Wow, man, look at those clouds and the sunshine and the leaves that are still on the trees. And the sunshine's still... I bet Point Defiance Park is pretty. And I bet the Arboretum is pretty. Oh, man. Walking through the Japanese garden. There's a song there somewhere. Walking through the Japanese garden. Yeah. 54 degrees-ish. I have sunshine shining through my sliding glass door, which is not open. Because it's not summer, you silly person, you. James, I miss the summertime. In the summertime, Jerry Mungo. I think that was on Janice's and Pape's, sold at a store near you. Yeah, so I got to do the insurance thing because, you know, that's what you have to do. And, of course, my provider's organization hasn't come to terms with the best plan. I've been talking to my broker and it's like, we all agree, yep, that's the bond. That's the one you can afford. So, you know. And then, like last year, it was like, we're going to wait until December 31st to sign our contracts. Great. Just great. Who used to say that? I think his name was Billy something. He was a comedian, character actor in many, many movies. I'm sure he's passed on. But he was sure fun in the, you know, like 40s, 50s, early 60s. Anyway, I remember he had curly hair and did a lot of coms. But there it is. My brain is just kind of fried from doing all that stuff. So we know what plan we want to have. We're just waiting for all the parties to come together and sign their contracts so I can have a little piece of mind. Not much. Not a lot. Yeah. So, I got a little radio action today. We'll have more. And of course the M's game this afternoon. Yay. And there it is. Jack, thank you for doing the net. I'm on an actual radio radio today. So there it is. This is James wishing everyone a fabulous afternoon. WQ7H back to Jack. This is repeater station Kilo Kio. Alright James. Hey, you have a great afternoon. Good luck with the insurance. Yeah, that is going to be a lot of fun, isn't it? Oh boy. Sounds like you're just having a heck of a time there. Alright, will you take care? We'll be seeing you hopefully soon. I don't know if you're going to be going to the Hangout at the Hangar for the Lake Washington Club on October 25, the indoor event, or the Gas Club. The indoor event, or the Gasworks outdoor event with PSRG and all our friends there. Or what? But hope to see you somewhere soon. Alright, you take care. Alright, we'll see you. Current time is 36 minutes past the top of the hour, 12.36. I'm Jack, KI7RMU. It's midweek here. Wednesday in Seattle and some other parts of the world. Let's go talk to Paul in Enfield, Maine, KC1VQS."}]}
