Fish and egg, caught a fish, caught a big catfish, probably over two pounds. And I ate it. It was part of my dinner. I got in workout number 2691 in. Okay, you brought me with me. Excuse me, let me take a break. I had a cough. You guys probably heard it anyway. And then, so I did, it rained all last night here, and it rained this morning, but it was dry enough to where I did go, and I did some weed whacking to where I'll be cutting wood, I'll be cutting it tomorrow. I'm just gonna take the, you know, now I have a path to the log, the three of them that I'm gonna be cutting up, and cut them into pieces, and stick them in the back of my truck. And I just got off a net here, a sideband net that they have every Friday on 144, 220, here on two meters. You know, if you got a sideband capability on two meters, they're really fun to talk to because you get to see how far you really get out. And that's kinda cool. And I find I get out better here, you know, on sideband, than I do on my bed hole. So, you know, that's kinda weird. Anyway, that's my life. Life is good, and I'm enjoying it. KF-70K, back to you. Doug, thank you so much for that report. Congratulations on catching a catfish. Yeah, you can make yourself some fish stew. You can. Yeah, that's fun. We're glad that you are enjoying yourself, and that life is good, and you're getting in your workouts, and yeah, just having a good time. I love it, I love it, Doug. Keep the reports coming, 73, and have a wonderful, wonderful sleep. Next on the list is Ann. 33 Ann, KA9EHV. Please come ahead with your report. So, first, we're gonna be here, Becca. This is KA9EHV, Ann in Seattle. And today is July the 25th, my dad's birthday. And there are two things relevant about my dad. The first is, if you bought a house, any, you know, if you bought a house at any time in the last, gosh, 35 years or so, and used a buyer's agent, your opportunity to use a buyer's agent is a direct result of the work of my father and some of his colleagues to set up that structure. Prior to that, both agents in a transaction represented the interests of the seller. And so that sounds like a trivial thing, but it's actually fairly important. And then, but the thing I remember most about my dad is there was an amusement park in Denver called Eulich's, and one of their rides, they had these little airplane-like things that were on tethers, and they would spin these things around, but these planes had enough freedom of movement that if you knew what you were doing, you could make them do some fantastic things. And my dad was a trained pilot, so he and I used to go up in these things, and he would flip them, tilt them sideways, you know. He could make them do astonishing things, and I loved it. My brothers were pretty gutless, so he and I would enjoy the little airplane ride, and my brothers, and we also enjoyed the rollercoaster together. My brothers didn't like that either. So, you know, that was anything daring, fast, and filled with a variety of movement my dad and I both loved. So that's my dad, and I just have been thinking about him today, because it's his birthday. And other than that, it was wretched up in Edmonds. I did not get out to play. We sold some stuff in the gallery, and I'm glad for that. My websites are back. That makes me happy. And now I get to figure out how to put WordPress on a couple of them. Anyway, that's of all for me. 733-88. I appreciate Rebecca for doing that, and I appreciate all of you for listening. I love you all. I'm not sure what happened there, but your signal was barely, barely hitting the Capital Park Master, and we literally heard probably the cumulative total of half a second of, I could hear your voice just barely blipping in like three different times. Other than that, we did not catch any of your report. So let me just right away see if you dumped power or see if there's something you can change in your situation and see if I can get you to do a quick test real quick. KA9EHV, please come back if you can. This is KA9EHV, is this better? You might end a different, you're lighting up the voter scope in bright green. So okay, so I will just say this, can you repeat everything you just said? Because we literally got zero percent. So Anne, please give us a report. Okay, I stand humiliated. This is KA9EHV, what I said is I went to a harp circle today and it was great fun, there were lots of neat people and neat harps there, and people played a lot of interesting repertoire. It wasn't like the last circle where everybody else played beautiful Celtic, very ornamented stuff. And I came in with It's Too Late by Carole King and Cats of the Cradle by Harry Chapin. This time people played everything from Broadway show tunes to some popular stuff and it was really nice. And so I ended up playing Yeasen Joann of Man's Desiring, my Beethoven mashup, and hang on a second. Okay, I'm still in there. My Beethoven mashup is a little bit different. My Beethoven mashup and my When You Walk Through a Storm from Carousel. So it was fun and I got to show off my cute little harp to people and prove that small harps are small but mighty and that was fine. Had to miss church, but apparently according to my husband I didn't miss much, so that's fine also. Anyway, that's about it for now. 73, 33, 88 to all of you. This is, I love you all and thanks, Brian, to you for doing the net. This is KA9H, be back to net. Good stuff and good signal there. So it sounds like maybe you bumped the power or something was going on there. All right, well very glad that you're okay as you're able to come in and give a lovely report there. So it sounds fun with that harp circle, Broadway tunes and pop music, that sounds fantastic. And then you with your Izu and your Beethoven mashup and small but mighty I wrote down. And then I wrote the quote from your husband, didn't miss much. All right, I just chuckled at that. All right, anyway, it sounds like a great day and thank you for sharing. We'll catch you down the log there, Ann. All right, that was the bottom of the list there. I am Brian, KE7KZH. This is the 9 o'clock net on the PSRG repeater in Seattle, Washington. Let's open this up to all stations. I will acknowledge each station one at a time. So if you hear someone else giving their call sign, please, please wait for me to acknowledge them. Now let me just check, was there a third station, or fourth, if you say, was there another station in that mix that I did not acknowledge? Yeah, probably me, I might have been in that pileup. Wolf. Matt is back in RF land. I love it, KJ7WQI. All right, good stuff. All right, so I actually have you right before Sean, because I did hear your key up first there, and I already wrote a K. All right, KE6RAX, Peter, I've got your IO. Cody, just wanted to double check, Alpha, Golf 7, Lima, Rodeo, did you say IO, or do you have a report tonight? I am IO, KJ7LR. Hey, good stuff. Remember, there's a double, I try to confirm. Every time I don't confirm that, it bites me. All right, good stuff, Cody. We'll catch you down the log, and thanks for stopping by, Peter, KK6RAX. Well, today was interesting. There's this call-in radio show that I occasionally actually call into. And today's show was a pre-recorded version that had one of my calls on it. Unfortunately, I have listened to this particular call, and it is really, really bad. And so I am humiliated every time I even think about it. And did not stop to listen to it today. And so that was nice to not hear. And then, let's see, I picked up a couple of new songs today. So, The Town I Loved So Well, which is done by the Dubliners. And a couple of songs from Mary Poppins. Because people like Broadway show tunes. And I think that's about it as far as new songs. I'm trying to learn like three a week. So, you know, three times fifty-two, if I were actually to manage that, that would be 156 new songs. To add to the 250 that are already there. So anyway, um... I think that's about all I have to say. It's great to hear you all. Thanks to Phil for doing the net. With no chance to Richard, wherever he is. Um, 733388, all the numbers. I love you all. This is KA9 EHV, back to net. KA9 EHV and thank you so much. Thank you so much. Interesting report. I have an offer for you. You talked about this old radio show that's recorded and something went wrong for you, I guess. And it was humiliating. I'm going to offer a therapeutic opportunity that if you want to tell us what it was, maybe it will make the humiliation go away. On the other hand, I think you don't want to tell us at all. And I understand. Just an offer. Back to you, Ann. It was a medical show, actually. There's a show called Leading Edge Medicine. And I asked the question, which was perfectly reasonable. And that's not what made it so bad. It was that I just couldn't seem to shut up. And, you know, I know better because I pretty much usually give really concise reports. But this is not a good example of it. And I just, oh, it makes me wince every time I hear it. Back to you, KA9 EHV. Oh, thank you Ann. That's very reassuring. I think we've all done that. And, yeah, but most of us have not been so unlucky as to have it get recorded and rebroadcast. That is crappy luck. And we all feel for you. But at least it wasn't anything truly awful. It's just talking too much, which is a very common habit for all people, especially Ann. Thank you, Ann. Well, good evening, Brian and the rest of the nets. This is KA9EHV. Oh, it was absolutely lovely. So it was replete with getting to listen to my husband read a very long psalm and the gospel in church today. So for those of you who don't know, we met on the radio during the simulated emergency test in 1980. And it only took me about 30 seconds to decide that voice was absolutely something I wanted to listen to for the rest of my life. And so every time I hear Scott read, it's like, ooh, all right. I can just sit and relax, and it's wonderful. And so anyway, that was nice. And then I played through a bunch of songs today, and that was nice. And other than that, I didn't do a whole lot. It is, after all, Sunday. And I technically shouldn't have actually been practicing. But as long as I don't do scales, it doesn't feel like work. Anyway, that's about it. Tomorrow I'll go up to Edmonds and attempt to make money. That would be nice. And other than that, not a lot happening here. This is a 7333-88 to everybody. I appreciate Brian for hosting the net. I appreciate everybody else for listening. This, I love you all. This is Ann, KA9EHC, back to net. Hey, well, thank you so much for that report there. And for sharing your Sunday evening with us. Very cool. So hey, I think what you are saying there is, anyone who's single out there, just listen for that perfect voice on the radio, and you might find your life partner there. So very good stuff. Glad you said it, Joe. But it's 1980, so congrats on him for reading those songs. And yeah, anyway, good stuff there. Thanks for sharing. We'll catch you down the walk there. All right, up next, down to the Bay Area we go. How are you tonight, Jeff? Alpha Bravo 6, Mike Bravo. Please give us a report. We're having a little QRF right now going on there. So Jeff, you might have a hard time getting in there. But let's just see if you can go ahead and give it a try there. Jeff, Alpha Bravo 6, Mike Bravo, over to you. All right, it may or may not help. But Jeff, let me just go ahead and put a circle here. And let's see if Michael, if you can bump up to some full power there, KJ7 Victor Echo Uniform. Let's see if we can run and get a report from Michael here. In the meantime, and then we'll circle back to Jeff there. So Michael, how are you tonight? Good to see you yesterday at the picnic. Very good talking with you. Please give us a report. You know, I mean, yeah, all these cameras are fine. I mean, they do OK somehow. These are, you know, I throw some money in there all the time. A little bit here and there. Just a bunch of places to stay going. And it's like every summer, you know, there's a lot of these fantastic, like, food. Yeah, in fact, there's a lot of good food in the lake that I usually eat. It started with a burger and a bunch of salads. How cool. Yeah, it's great there. I can't get up at 2. I did not bring one of the chocolate cakes like I had before. You know, trying to lose weight. I didn't stop the store first. Anyway, it seemed to be a fine situation there. Let's start with Peter, Kilo Echo Six, Romeo Alpha X-ray, how much you report? I see Peter was an IO. Thank you for your IO, Peter. Gotta want to read what I wrote down. Next we've got Ann, KA9 EHV. How's things going with you today, Ann? Well, good evening. Ann, thanks so much for running the net, and good evening to the rest of the net. This is KA9 EHV, Ann in Seattle. Well, things are going all right with me. I went to church this morning. I had one of the more vivid experiences I've ever had when I listened to a sermon and had a complete outline of the book. And had a complete outline in my head for a completely alternate sermon on the same lessons. Which is always a little frustrating. It's not that I disagree with what the actual preacher said. That has nothing to do with it. It's just that sometimes these outlines just sort of pop in and makes me think I'm on a podcast or something. The subject had to do with how to be rich towards each other and towards God. How, in other words, how to share freely and abundantly no matter what you think you have or don't have. And I find the message, however, in whatever form it is talked about to be unbelievably valuable for today's environment. And I had gone on with thinking about outlining it and telling stories of the different kinds of tippers that I see as a street musician. Because each of them share with me in a different way. And they all contribute to the experience. And even the ones who don't, but nonetheless talk to me or engage with me or simply walk by and I can tell they're listening. Gosh, you know, there's tons of people like that. And it's always interesting to just kind of find out who's doing what. So anyway, that's wrapping up to getting ready for Worldcon and so that's all happening. And yeah, life is going on. Played a little bit of harp today and working on a song where the accidental, the lever changes are horrible, but I think I can manage it. And so that's all that's happening. Someday I'll talk about a real radio project. Hoo hoo! This is 733388. Thanks to Tim for running the net and all of you for listening. I love you all. This is KA98 feedback tonight. And you say you're sounding great tonight. So I have a question. So you're coming up with this alternate sermon in your mind concurrently with the sermon that was actually being delivered. So is this something that you have practice at? I mean, do you sometimes actually write sermons and maybe present them? Oh dear, well, I went to Wheaton College, which is Billy Graham's alma mater. And it's really hard to go to Wheaton College and not get some training in how to be a missionary and how to give a sermon. But my actual training in that area started with a charismatic renewal in the 70s. I was in high school when I started being sent out to give testimonies and so forth to fellow youth groups. And then I went to Wheaton College, which only accentuated it. And then I joined Faith Alive, which is a lay witness program, and got more training there. So I've actually had quite a little bit of training for a certain style of preaching, which I call the sort of scripture-based testimony. And it's a useful style of preaching, because it's easy to, you know, you go through the lesson, and then you go through a little bit of testimony, and then you have a call to action at the end. And it's the call to action that I like. And all of the forms of training I had actually kind of coincided in that format. This is KA98V. This town's pretty rigorous there, Anne. Rigorous training and giving you some good results. Your creativity, another outlet for your creativity. Well, I remember going to, I was raised in a Catholic church, and I remember the sermons were not my favorite part, actually. And I don't remember any calls to action, so it must be more of a denominational thing. Anyway, thank you for your report. And let us know if you ever actually get an opportunity to give a sermon. You might talk to one of them ministers there and say, hey, if they ever need a stand-in, you're available. And you can come up with one quick, I'm sure. All right, let's get some more check-ins. We have a little bit of QRM going on this evening. So let's see who we can check on, check-in, full power if you're an RF. Let's go ahead and get some check-ins. Name and call. OK, 30. OK. OK, 30. OK, 30. Can you step over me? Sorry, I doubled with that last station. The last station, come back. OK, 30. OK, 30. I'm using in funding. I didn't quite catch the call. Maybe you're a little close to the microphone, maybe a little over much. Would you do something? Just try that slowly one more time. I heard, like, conquer or some such. This is repeater station Kilo. This is Kilo Kilo, 6 ULC. Kilo Kilo, 6 ULC. I'm in the charge. I checked in the first round, and I'm easy. You can call me. OK. OK. OK. Sorry about that. And I ran into someone from church and mentioned that, um, I had begun discussing with the rector the possibility of offering a lay preacher's class, and she said she'd be interested. So that's cool, because the class is much more likely to happen if I can get two or three or four people lined up. Um, and so that was cool. And then, uh, and then there was a lady who had two little kids, and they wanted to hear the ABC song. So we... First they wanted to hear Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, so I did that. Then they wanted to hear the ABC song. To hear this, almost, but not quite the same. Um, the rhythm is different. And so I put it down in a key where we could all sing it, and pretty soon there were five people singing the ABC song with a harp accompaniment. It was unbelievably cute. And then I did Doe a Deer, a female deer, because I said, if we're going to do the reading alphabet, we have to do the musical alphabet too. And, um, of course, soulfish is one of these things. I, um, you know, I took a look at it. Doe a deer, female deer, blah blah blah. And then I had to teach a 40-hour music seminar in Spanish. And in Spanish they used, um, soulfish with a fixed doe on C. And it took me a while to remember that fixed doe because..."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-04T21:05:03+00:00","id":14136,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14135,"text":" Good evening. Well, good evening Rebecca and to Vanette. This is KA9 EHV. Wow. So, we eat dinner relatively late in the summer and then we say evening prayers after dinner. Which is a nice civilized time to say evening prayers. And I have to admit that I cut the time so close that you started the net about two seconds or maybe even less after I finished the last prayer. So, I haven't done it that well in a long time. It's not a particularly long order that we use but it's a little, you know, it's not casual either. Or detergently formal. Anyway, so that was fun. And let's see, I got my little military costume ready to present boot camp at Worldcon. So boot camp is one of the songs, or the stories in Wings of Joy about the basic training of Star Masters. And, hang on a second. There's basically two things the military has to know about them. Star Masters have to fly to a certain rhythm in order to be healthy. And so of course the first thing that happens to one who's taken prisoner is that they will be deprived of flight typically. That's the more common thing to do. And the Navy wants to know how a Star Master, treated that way, will break. And how long it will take before they will be so wigged out that they will sing a song of every bit of intelligence they have. And so that's the first thing they find out in basic training. And the second thing is that for any Star Master who's being sent into alien service, they memorize a long convention, equivalent to the Geneva Convention actually, about how they're to be treated. And the people in basic training will just ask for bits of this convention and the poor Star Master candidate has to be able to give it back. Or do push ups or some other punitive exercise. I figure that's very, you know, because again they have to know that actually. Going into service with a non-human species who may or may not understand your physiology, they have to know what and how you can ask for it. So that's a cute story and we're going to do that. I have a little costume with two little pins on it and a scarf. It's a very structured jean jacket that's exactly the right color. And a pair of black pants and a black beret. Woo hoo! Military uniform. So that's what I did today. Getting ready for Worldcon that starts next Wednesday. Anyway, that's about all I have and aren't you glad it's finally over? This is 73-33-88. All the numbers to all my people. Thanks Rebecca for doing the net and thanks to all of you for listening. This is KA9-PHD. Back to net. Well Anne, 33, and thank you so much for your report. Please come ahead with your report. Well, good evening Rebecca. So I was up in Edmonds at Gallery North today and we sold a few things. And we, I played outside for a little bit and talked to some interesting people and some not so interesting people. I don't have an act of spotting when a conversation is going to go awry. So sometimes I get stuck in these conversations where all I can do if I want to make any money is to say, hey, you know, I'm trying to work here. Because otherwise I won't make any money because the guy is blocking the audience. It's just not so great. People like that don't take what I'm doing seriously and it's frustrating. Anyway, and I think I'm close to getting my D minor Christmas carol thing resolved. Let all mortal flesh keep silence as a Christmas carol, but my arrangement of it, I'm not happy with the way it sounds yet. I don't think I can get it ready in time, so I want to drop that. I want to add a little bit of money, a little bit of pizza money. But yeah, it was a lovely day. I'm going to go to the next meeting. Well, thank you so much, Ann, for your report. I hope you were able to make a little bit of money, a little bit of pizza money. But yeah, it was a lovely day out here. I'm sure that Edmonds was lovely as well. That gallery is such a great spot. This downtown Edmonds is so cute. Gallery North. I really enjoyed it. It's a wonderful variety of artists. It was a great spot. Thank you for your report, Ann. Let us know how your progress is going. All of your projects, all of your artistic ventures. 33 and all the numbers. And next on the list is Bill in Arlington, AF4LL, KK79JZ. Hey, Bill. Well, bless your heart. Oh, my gosh, Rebecca. Ann, how are you tonight? Well, good evening, Paul. And to Annette. I am fine. I am nervous. I'm going to the Worldcon tomorrow. And the logistics are going to be interesting because the place for most of my speaking engagements are three blocks away from the hotel where I am staying. And trying to get this to work is going to be somewhat interesting. I'm not sure exactly how this is going to happen. I have kind of a general idea. And then I've already gotten one letter from a panelist who's got a bunch of slides that, of course, I can't see. I would really have appreciated if she'd sent it slightly before the convention started, like last week, so that I could have had a chance to have the computer read them to me. I don't know. This is one of these inclusion things that really I wish people would, if you did nothing else about diversity, equity, and inclusion, include by giving people time to deal with your data and the way they need to deal with it. Sometime when I have more time and less to talk about, I'll give my rant on alternative test formatting in colleges for blind people. Anyway, I did a little bit of work with the harp and wrote another chapter in the interminable saga of Raquelah. Do you know that it is really hard to write a moving story about somebody who's under really restrictive captivity? You have to read actual real life stories to make it work. And any way you do it, it's grim. So anyway, that's what I've been doing. 7333-88. Thanks to Paul for doing the net. Thanks to all of you for listening. I love you all. This is KA90HB. Back to Nat. All right. Well, yes, I'm sure when you're done with all this, sharing that rant will be something we'll hear. And I hope that despite that, it all goes well for you. And I imagine there are challenges on writing a story like you described. I hope that those reading other true life stories provided the sort of material background that you needed to make yours sound more realistic and work better for you. So, yeah, have a good time with Colin and 7333. All right. Let's go next to Rich K3OE. Rich, how are you doing tonight? Good. Good evening. I'm doing just fine over here in West Seattle. It was a beautiful day. Although a bit warm and mucky for a while. But anyway, this evening, yeah, the crazy antenna is a kitchen scene because I was cooking today. So I figured, well, I'll do a kitchen scene antenna. So anyway, I posted a picture and the SWR is acceptable. And I'm 5 watts on a handheld. And yeah, I'm getting in okay. So that's all that counts. Anyway, thanks for doing the net.
