And when we get back to school, we didn't put him on the train or the bus anyway. He went all the way back. And the poppy seeds on the bagels. It set off with their tests. So he had a grilling on his hands there. That didn't work, by the way. None of the things we tried, we've had them work. It cost a lot of money, but it did not work. Alright, Daryl. V01, you're KC. Good morning, everybody. It is 7 30 a.m. on the East Coast, which means it's time to start the Carlethonganette for this Saturday morning, the ninth day of August, 2025. I am KM1X. I will be serving as your net controller for my QTH in the state of Maine. For this general roundtable ride shoot where we take call signs, we talk about what we're doing this weekend, we answer a question or two, we get to know each other just a little bit better. So with that, I have five stations already down on the list. I have VE1UKZD, who's usually at the end of the list, but he's number one today. VE3KKYKEV, VE1WINP, KJ5IRQJ, and AA4HO1. So those are the first five names on the list. Let's add some more, shall we? So anyone anywhere that wants to get in on the Carlethonganette this Saturday morning, please come forward with your call sign now. This is repeater... W0GL, Air 1, State 2, Missouri. Good morning to everybody on the net, and I am S1 in and out. KM4QBC, Kilo, Mike, 4, Quebec, Bravo, Charlie, Jeff, North Carolina. GC2PKG, good morning, Kevin. K9, PFD, K9, Papa, Foxtrot, Delta. So we'll turn it over to you so you can get onto it. Final comments, Greg. This is repeater station kilo kilo 7 November 11. Hey, I'm Eric. This is KC2-PKG. Yeah, I'm already onto it. I have to build a chair because we only have seven. Six, no, seven. And we're going to need eight. So I'm putting off building a chair. And I got a three. I got, well, I have one 3D printer upstairs. And I haven't used that thing in years and years. I was on a kick for a while there. And I was having fun with it. And then one day I just got frustrated with it. And I said that and walked away. I said, I'll do something else for now. And it's still there. So it taunts me. Good question today. I love the way that people approached it. I thought it was good. It said a lot about their personalities. It was a penetrating question. It was excellent. It was excellent. So I don't know if there's going to be an NC tomorrow or not. Bill said he's threatening to do it himself. But if you've got the time or the inclination, then Sunday is one of the best ways to start. Because it's not busy. It's very relaxed. And it's that way on purpose. So think about it. God, it's always privilege and pleasure. I really enjoy this now. I like the people on it too. So with that, I'll pass it back to you, KM1X. And I know a couple of friends of mine who I'm actually going to be with later today playing Dungeons & Dragons with. They had to put one of their dogs down last Friday. And you know what I was real I mean everybody kept their distance from them on Friday and and then I saw them on Sunday and they actually seemed to be doing really well. I mean the dog was 15 I think they saw it coming they actually two years ago got another one in anticipation of this one going down. So I think they were pretty well ready for it. And it was a case of the dog really let them know. I mean it was bad like one day I just woke up and it was like yeah okay. So they knew. But Scooter is not gonna be a dog that you're gonna have to worry about that any time soon. Alright I think I got this game set up and this could be a bust so I'm trying to get it out of the way early because if it's a bust we won't we won't damage the net too bad. But we've got two teams of four team A and team B. And I'm gonna tell you who's on team A and who's on team B. The lead guitarist is a friend of ours. He is a great band. He is a great band that we haven't seen in a long, long time. We are going to surprise him. We both lost touch with this guy. We are going to surprise him and be there in the audience. We might even go there when he is setting up and say hi. I don't know yet. We'll see how it goes. Other than that, we will be celebrating the Labor Day of the Holiday. Thank you to the founding union members that brought us the 40 day work week, the overtime and labor safety and rules. Something that is in threat right now. I think there could be some, I think I heard something that our orange man is going to be a little bit of a breaking for the Labor Day weekend. You know when you mentioned that you did, you did mention that you know pancreatic cancer is usually a quick one because it's so aggressive. For three and a half years yeah he must have had some great doctors and then there was that Judge Frank Caprio out of Rhode Island who passed away this week and he had pancreatic cancer and he had it for a couple of years. I don't recall people lasting that long when they get that so they're making some strides on that type of cancer anyway. Not that their quality of life was anything great but you know it sounds like they are able to keep people around a little bit longer and I always thought that a good, speaking of cancer, a good Jack Ryan of you know Tom Clancy fame, a good plot for a Jack Ryan novel would be that he discovers that there is a cure for cancer but it's trying to be kept under wraps and he's trying to get to the bottom of it and get it exposed and all of this and of course at the end he's successful but you know all of the shenanigans that are going on that would go on and to try to keep this the kind of thing under wraps and you know the people behind it that are you know evil bastards and the crap that they're doing so I thought that would make for an interesting Clancy novel. Let me pause. Did anybody else here, I mean did Rick's transmission, were there a couple of periods where it sounded like he was doubling with himself or is it just my internet? If someone could jump in and let me know if Rick's transmission was clear as a bell or were there a couple of issues there throughout his transmission? My warning for Fold phones. I had the Samsung Fold 3 for the last 3 or 4 years before I got the phone I have now. I work with 3 different phones man. The Apple dramatically changed the way the glass bending thing works. I know for Samsung at least the glass technology isn't quite there yet. That's usually why I work with 3 phones. Right in the middle where it folds at I would develop a crack or whatever in the glass. Not for me, just for folding it and unfolding it repeatedly. Every single one of them would get a black line down the middle and then half of the phone you couldn't use. Of course they would not accept responsibility for that and for the first 2 phones I paid $250 or something like that to get it replaced through my insurance. But when the third phone did it I was done. I told them they could take that phone and beep beep beep. I was pretty nice about it though and I ended up getting the Galaxy S25 Ultra. And I'll keep it until the S26 comes out because the S26 is supposed to be really really really cool with AI and stuff like that. So I will be getting the new phone when it comes out. But until then this one looks pretty good. So yeah just be careful with the folding phones. I would do a crap ton of research to see if they fix that. I know on the Fold 6 because I was going I was really thinking about getting it. I like the phones.
