Yes. The Votascope. The Votascope is a great tool. If you're at the homepage of the PSRT.org, off on the right side there is the Votascope. That will show you your relative signal strength on all the different receivers around the area. There's also, if you're on the webpage there, there's a tab that says Repeater. If you go down to Voting System, there is a version of the Votascope that also shows connections. So it will show all of the EchoLink All-Star connections as well as a web of who all is connected. It's kind of cool. It's a really handy tool, especially if you are out and about. You can see how well you're getting into the system and the different receivers. You can test different antennas and different radios and all that fun stuff. I remember when I first got on this repeater system, I was like, what is this thing they keep talking about? Everyone talked about it and I was like, is it Boater? Is it Moat-it? Votascope. That's what it's called. Anyway, had a pretty good day today. I'm going to let Megan talk about the fun stuff that we did today and what we got going on now. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. 731K9 BDC. K9 BDC, K7WFP. Thank you, Brooks. Thanks for stopping by and also for pointing out that second version of the Votascope with a V as in Victory, which gives you the connections. Everyone should know that the connections are fascinating. If anybody out there is looking at it right at the moment, the one with connections, if you click on that little blue text, I don't know what color it is because I clicked on it. I guess it's blue when you start before you click on it. Anyway, it says Bubble Chart right near the top. You hit Bubble Chart and you get, that's loading, taking a minute, a fascinating view of the network that is hooked up to us right now, which just glancing at it quickly has at least, I don't know, a hundred nodes on it, but some of them are collections like Do Drop In is on there. So there are a lot of people who are hooked to us right now. It's kind of fascinating. Let's see where we are now. We're going to go over and talk to Megan, K9. L. R. Now all I have to do is try to find that magic piece of software that I can actually get to work to decode it so I can see a picture. That way I don't have to skip that to you. But, and I think I, when I got back on the net here, I was out for a little bit. I think that you had asked what the frequency was. Maybe you got that figured out now, but it was 145.8. So anyway, yeah, I'll, I can't figure it out in the next 30 minutes, so I'll send it to you later. And you can take a look at it when you get time tomorrow or something. So anyway, thanks for doing that. And KK7TGU, back to you, Bill. KK7TGU, K7WFP, thank you, Bob, for that report and bringing us up to date. And I'll be happy to help you with the decode if you can't get that app you need. Yeah, 145.8 for the SSTT. If anybody is interested, I'm not sure when the program ends. I think it might be today. We're just sitting around having a quiet evening in Puget Sound talking to a few people around the country. And here we are talking to a ship near Turkey. That is just too much fun. I love it. Thank you so much. Let's move back up to a more pedestrian observer of human behavior, the Human Behavioral Observatory on Capitol Hill, KX2CW. John, come ahead. Hello, Loganville. Yes, I saw the ISS. I pointed out to my friend Jerome and another friend, two other friends, I have four people. I managed to point it out to them. It was a pretty good view. I was afraid that the streetlights were going to be too much and wouldn't be able to make it out. But now the ISS just popped right out. And then it got dimmer and dimmer and dimmer and then winked out as it went into the Earth's shadow. And I came back up. So what I did is when I went down, I came out and went to Little Woody's hamburger joint and got into a conversation with Miriam, a woman there. It was a great conversation for myself and Randy and Miriam for a couple of hours. But anyway, came home and came upstairs and turned on the radio and took a quick cool off shower and threw some more clothes on. Then heard about the ISS so I went downstairs just in time because I had lost my keys. I mislaid them somewhere. I found them and made it to see one of the best ISS passes. It didn't have a radio tuned into the downlink or anything. But then I came back up and I came back and talked in the microphone, which I'm doing right now. Thanks Bill and Radio Wave and all the numbers on my hands. To everybody, this is Joan KX2CW perched in the Capitol Hill Behavioral Observatory handing it back to NEDT. Capitol Hill ISS Observatory tonight. I'm glad you had so much fun out there and introduced us to a few new people to that astounding sight. It is fun when it does over in the east and it just sort of winks out, just says goodbye, way above the horizon sometimes, just because it goes into the Earth's shadow. I'm doing pretty well. I feel pretty accomplished. I had the goal today of clearing out some quantity of square footage of space here on the floor in the basement. Some quantity being greater than one or greater than zero, really, that would have been an accomplishment. I think I have a good 10 by 10 square foot area, maybe a little smaller. I think that's very successful. It's always good to see floor instead of clutter. It's psychologically really good. I felt good about that. In true ADHD fashion, not only did I clean stuff down here in the basement right adjacent to the shack, but when I was moving stuff to and fro or I was just walking by to throw something away or something, I was like, oh, I got to do that. I had the ancillary benefit of clearing out some stuff in other parts of the house or organizing stuff in other parts of the house. That makes me feel good. Good work was done today. I didn't feel too mentally or physically taxed. I'm going to count that as a success. This evening I was kind of just playing around, moving some stuff around on this radio, some memories, further organizing, further picking little nits here and there and just organizing the radio further. Anyway, other than that, I had a good day. That was pretty much the extent of my day. I've been enjoying listening to the net while just finishing up organizing. I hope everybody has a great day tomorrow. KB9IQX. KB9IQX, K7WFP. Well, thank you, A. You did. That's a major accomplished day, I would think. Did you say 10 by 10 feet? I mean, 10 by 10 inches is certainly an accomplishment. 10 by 10 feet is maybe an Olympic record. I don't know. I couldn't possibly clear up that much space. I mean, unless clearing the space meant all you had to do was sweep it, I could do that. Congratulations. And I like your ADHD fashion approach. There are all these books you see and podcasts. I mean, the How to Organize Your Life. I can't even remember the names, but you could have your own podcast or website and you could become an influencer with the ADHD Guide to Organizing Your Life. Anyway, I was just going to be pedantic and say yeah, that previous check-in about the ISS lower pass yeah, if you if you're using a, and I know this through experience, I kind of wondered I was like, well this was a beautiful high pass, why was my signal so, why was my receive so bad? And then I realized, oh yeah dummy, I was using a vertical antenna and on high passes they're great for, yeah, for showing unknown passersby the beauty and wonder of the ISS streaking across the sky, but if you're trying to get a signal that high pass is going right above the null of your vertical antenna, so that's why the low passes often have so much better results I've actually gone to the, I've actually had an antenna and I've held it like a sword and just kind of held it perpendicular, wielded it like a sword out there in the middle of the street to get a better signal, so yeah, that is the answer for why sometimes those lower passes are much better than the super awesome looking high passes pedantically, KB9IQX, back to net well sometimes pedantic people give you really useful information, Amy, thank you so much it's so obvious that the null of your vertical antenna is overhead, had never occurred to me, I was kicked off about a pass a few days ago very high pass, where I got very poor copy on the SS-TV from my very good vertical, Anfang J. Hey, I enjoyed our chat today about the, oh whatever that's called, Mestatic, I think, something like that. And a cool little rig that's fixed up there. Had a nice little chat with Dean and Matt, WQI. I used to see him again after a couple of years. And, let's see, I was pretty much just sitting over there chatting. Most of the day was Dave from Mestatic playing guitar. But just a great day, just as always, you know, good food. Nice to see everybody. Had a little talk with Alaina Doug there too. So, all in all, was a lot of fun. So that's all I have, thanks to you, TNG7FWB, the other Bill. The other Bill from this other Bill, thank you so much Bill. Yeah, it was nice, I saw you sitting there playing. And it was just such a pretty day in the park too. All the friends and nice weather and good food. Can't get better. And it just shows how rattled I am trying to operate as a solo host without Rich's help. That I did not even recognize your call. You are my, what do we call it, my dyslexic brother, right? SWB, WSB. Thank you, Bill. Dean, it's all you tonight. How are you doing again? Had a nice chat about audio file issues. KT7ODB, how you doing tonight? This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7 November 12, November 12. Hi, I'm Jeffery Klooker, good evening Bill and everybody on the electric team. And of course the other Bill from Washington just checked in. Yeah, we were all sitting around the same place with Pirate Dave and Sam and Shelley and Rich was there. And, oh, I'm sure there were other people I'm just missing. But it was great hearing Bill play his guitar. And also Pirate Dave, I really enjoyed when he played that song, Route 66. He was talking about how he had had some kind of intubation earlier in the year which messed up his vocal cords. But I thought he sounded pretty good. So as he's listening, I think the demise of his singing career, those rumors are premature. Anyway, that's a really nice day. It was a little more low key I thought than some of the other PSRG picnics. Yeah, I had some good talks with some people. He also was mentioned earlier, Matt, Water Quality Index. It's always good to see him. He's out always. He's just traveling the world as a flight attendant. But I know there's probably a better term for that. But it was good seeing him and so many other people. The thing I always regret is all the people I see who I never get around to actually spending some time talking with. There are quite a few of those. But obviously Jack did a lot of work. He's always running around. But I guess I have to give a special consideration to Ben and to Megan who were running the barbecues. The burger was great. I thought it was really cool. I don't know if people, probably everybody knows about it. But you probably saw Cammie and Robert. They were both wearing these hats that say JXM Automotive. Which is Robert and Cammie's new company. It's my understanding that Rebecca made those hats for them. Rebecca does a lot of really cool things. She bought me this, my little Parks on the Air lanyard that I always wear. She bought that at the YL convention last summer. It's a very courteous thing. Anyway, it was a really nice day. Great seeing everybody. I looked forward to hearing all the reports. Also, it's nice hearing about the Lake Washington event. It would have been nice to be up there. But because it was hard for the event here at Magnolia to be scheduled for Sunday. Normally it's on a Sunday, but we had to do Saturday. I guess that decision came a little bit later. So it wasn't a slight on Lake Washington or anything like that. Anyway, KG70DP back to that. KG70DP, K7WFP. Well thank you, Dee. It was fun sitting around that table early on. By the way, the person you couldn't remember was Bob, who was sitting there with us too. I did not see the JXM automotive hats. That must be the name of Robert's new business. I'm sure that must be it. I'm sure he will tell us about it when he joins us, perhaps, tonight. Yeah this is Dean KG70DB. So anyway, when I first started Ham Radio, I bought a Fofang radio like a lot of people did, but I really knew nothing about repeaters and which local repeaters were good or anything like that. So I put it on scan and I just let it go through and at first I was really let down because it was like there was nothing happening at all. But then it stopped, it picked up a station and what it picked up was the wind system. You know, a 441.65 W7 TWA from Mt. Baldy. And so I'm hearing this person talking and they're saying they are in Alabama. I'm thinking wow, this little $35 radio works pretty well. I mean I kind of figured it was some sort of, some technology I didn't understand yet. But yeah the wind system, I used to spend a lot of time on there. There was a thing called the Insomniac Net. It's still there. What they do is they have a trivia question every night and then they, it's like a roll call and then everybody has to give their answers. Like it's a multiple choice and you'll say A, C and D because you picked those particular answers to the question. But you know it's really popular actually on PSRT because years ago K7 LWA, which a lot of the people, younger people have heard about but never got to know because he passed away in 2018. He was the net manager and he was like a major force on this, on PSRT for a long time. But on Friday nights he would do the Insomniac Net. There was a lot of crossover over there so I'd go over there and I'd be on his net. But one of the things that happened with the Insomniac Net was it used to be that they would order the people by how many times and how long you'd been checking in. And over time you'd get really high on the list. But then they changed it so we're going to call people in, in this area or that area or the 7th district. And it kind of upset a lot of people who had put a lot of time into, you know, spent a couple years getting high on the list and all of a sudden it's all shaken up. But yeah the wind system is a great system. I haven't been on there for a while but it's there. So anyway great net tonight. Great to hear everyone. KG 7 ODB. Well thank you Gene and for that background on the wind system. Yeah I just had never heard of it. I had no idea what it was and I've psyched over this Insomniac Net. It looks like it's every night at 10 p.m. Pacific. Interesting. Yeah. Alright if you're interested go to windsystem.org and you can fall into another deep, deep rabbit hole. We are listening to the PSRG 9 p.m. social net for Saturday July 19th. We've gone through two rounds and it's the traditional moment for the host to take a moment and go over the announcement list. So let me do that right now. Next Saturday as usual the Radio Club of Tacoma hosts their open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. And as usual next Saturday also the Simplex Net is at 8 p.m. on 146.56. But not every Saturday brings you the PSRG annual picnic. Ta-doo ta-doo. Saturday July 26th. That is one week from today. It's going to be over in Magnolia Park. If you want to go onto the PSRG.org webpage and sign up and get in. Because sometimes we get people limited. They don't let us have 100,000 people. The park is only so big so we can only let so many people in. So go and sign up. Sign up and bring some nice food and come and have really probably the best event. Well, field day is pretty wonderful but the picnic is wonderful too. So come on July 26th. And coming up soon after that on Sunday August 10th is the next Rain or Shine Net. It is going to be on the east side of Green Lake over there by the paddle boat rentals and where the Green Lake Cafe and Concession Stand is. And just to get you a little interested there's something here that says you pick up your ice cream ticket. You see a little free ice cream in your future. I'm not sure but that's what this notice suggests. So put it on your list Sunday August 10th. Then you have the Picket Sound Anti-Radio and Vintage Electronics Swap Meet at Shoreline Community College on Sunday August 17th from 9 to 2. And that gets you through a pretty nice summer with all announcements when it gets a little cooler. It's just too hot to go into them now. You'll listen to 9 p.m. PSRG Socialite. This is Bill, K7WFP and we're starting round three right now. So if you want to get in on it come ahead now with your call line and your name. K0CMT, Colin, K7CSG, Ryan with an R, IO. Good evening, Bill and everyone. I meant for this to be an I.O. check-in with my friend here who is sitting in a car on mobile, whose call sign is KK7 CSG. I'll tell you a little bit about my day. We went to Gasworks Park and we stumbled upon a classical piano, a live classical piano event called In the Landscape. It was the 10th anniversary season. We were intrigued by it because we saw the antenna in the distance. Of course, we saw the piano, but we just thought, Oh, well, maybe someone brought a piano to Gasworks and just wanted to start playing. But we saw the antenna in the distance and as we got closer, we kept seeing so many people with headphones. Then we just went up and started talking and we got a free set of headphones to listen to the live performance. It was really, really impressive. It was the first time we had ever seen anything like that. I'm going to see if Ryan here wants to say anything. I got it. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. I got nothing here to say for me. This is KK7 CSG, but I'm also here with K0 CMT. Do you want to hand it back to the net, Colin? Yeah, I'm going to hand it back to the net. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening. Both here on Capitol Hill. KK7? 73, K0 CMT. K0 CMT and KK7 CSG, this is K7 WFP. Colin, that is fascinating. In The Landscape, it's a series that's been going in, I think you said 10 years. That's fascinating. I get the drift that it's outside, but they get the audio to you really nicely through some kind of radio system. What's going on? Is it Bluetooth or how does that gizmo work? You know, it's definitely not Bluetooth. I don't know exactly, but it was a RF antenna. I don't know what frequency they were transmitting. We wanted to ask someone, but everyone was busy. It was spread out a couple hundred feet, so everyone was able to just walk around with their headphones and sit wherever they wanted comfortably at Cast Works and listen to the live piano performance. Gosh, the sound was wonderful. We just laid on the hillside and looking up at the bright, wonderful sky. It was a super peaceful time just sitting there. Back to you, Bill. K0 CMT. Well, guys, that is fascinating. I'm thinking about it. It must be that kind of FM, short distance FM like they use for mic'ing performance in theaters, I suppose. We have so many good audio people on this net, I bet somebody can fill us in. But I have to check that out. That is really cool. I've never heard about it. I've learned two really cool things tonight. This and the wind system. Very cool. All right, let's move ahead to Magoo over where you are. KK7 ZTZTJ. Come ahead."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-02T21:55:19+00:00","id":13778,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13777,"text":" The cell is slowing down a bit, let's do onesies for a minute here. AE7WE, Robert, come ahead, give us your report. Yes, good evening everyone, this is Robert, AE7WE, and I had a fun day just because I got to play on the radio all day. I was able to have some friends watch our kids as I went on a hike, I went up to Wilderness Peak and did an activation there for submits on the air. That was a lot of fun to make good contacts all the way up to Olympia and North as far as Kamino Island, so that was a lot of fun. At home, I have a new antenna that I've been playing around with, it's a Comet GB6, and I had it basically at ground level for the last few days, but today I got a couple poles and got it up 20 feet in the air so I could listen on the Simplex net, and that was a lot of fun, I heard so many people. Joel was just on here, I heard him very well, I could hear the host all the way down to Burien, and one station at Granite Falls, so it was amazing, I'm happy I got this antenna. So that's just what I want to talk about, I'm going to send it back to net, AE7WE. AE7WE, Robert, thank you, well I'm going to make a note of that antenna Comet, I think it's a GP6, sounds like it got great performance. Just two questions for you, I don't know where Wilderness Peak is, can you just give us an idea, and how high were you and what band were you on? I will try to answer the best I can, Wilderness Peak is on Cougar Mountain, kind of, I think it's off of exit 13 on I-90, and I think it's about 1300 feet, I'm not entirely sure, so it's a good elevation, but it's not a super high elevation, and I was doing 2 meter FM. Very good, sounds like a perfect day for it, not too hot, not too cold, just right. Very good, thank you so much. Who else wants to join us tonight, this is a 9pm PSRG social net, my name is Bill, K7WFP, come ahead with your call sign and name. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November, All Star Node 6... WA6 ABC, Whiskey Alpha 6, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Michael in Rockaway Beach. Michael, we have you on the list, let's see who else wants to join us, call sign and name please. W7LCO, I just had a question. W7LCX, what's your question? My question was for Joan about that thing that records the, some kind of wave analyzer that does other things, I was just wondering if you could ask her to say with a model number or whatever I would Google to find out more about that, because that seems super interesting. Thank you, W7LCX. W7LCX, well let's bounce right back to Joan, see if we can get a very quick answer from her and then continue with the net. Joan, can you help us out there? Blatantly, let me turn down the talk back. Well believe it or not, it is a Star Trek the Original Series hero prop tricorder manufactured by the Wanda Company. They have a reputation for making the finest, most accurate hero props. They started like, you know, 16 years ago making a Harry Potter wand that was actually an infrared controller."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-03T12:19:55+00:00","id":13847,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":13846,"text":" Okay, let's go back up to the top of the list and talk to Wilco, W7LCO. Come ahead. Hey there, how's it going? This is W7LCO. Thanks for hosting the net tonight. Today I went to the farmer's market in Des Moines and I got a new hat and I got a tiny jar of honey from Shipwreck. I was there with my mom and Judy bought me a candle for my boat. I think the scent was called Blood Moon and it was kind of like a real nice citrusy scent. So that was a nice morning. And then I went to see a play in Burien at the Performing Arts Center. They did Newsies, so that was really fun. And that was a date, so a fun kind of unique date experience. And in less exciting news, my boat water, fresh water system sprung a leak somewhere under the floor so the pump, I had to turn it off because it was just pumping water out. So that's something I'm going to be working on tomorrow morning. So that's about it for me. I'm just out in my car, just finished up a walk, so just going to head back to the boat and listen to the net on my way back. Thanks again. Sending it back to you, 73 is everyone out there, W7LCO. W7LCO K7WFP. Well that is a full day. I want to ask you though about the play Newsies. Is that a musical? And if you want to give us any more details on your date, we'd all like to know. Come ahead. Yeah, sure. Newsies is a musical, yes, and it was made into a movie that starred Christian Bale when he was a teenager. And it's really fun in my opinion, but I mean I like musicals in general, but it's a really fun one. It's got a lot of good Union socialism vibes, so that's always fun. Speak truth to power or whatever. Anyway, and then the date, this woman Nicole that my boss, who's also my best friend, introduced me to, who's cousins with his wife, and we hung out at their party at his house on July 4th, and so we've been going out on some fun dates lately. And I'm like a couple of weeks since then, so it's going pretty well I would say. Back to you, W7LCO. W7LCO, okay, 7WFB. Well, thank you. Yeah, oh, Newsies sounds like fun, and the date with Nicole sounds like fun. A new, a new maybe romance since July 4th. A summer romance. I hope it doesn't end with the summer though. Thanks for letting us know about that. Very interesting. Jeff, AB6MB, Jeff probably had a date with Rocky today, is that right?"},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-30T22:18:28+00:00","id":28702,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":28701,"text":" It's been, let's see, I started in, what was it, July of 2024. But like I said, the power supply was admitting, and I was really hard to hear on 220, and this is just a test to really see if the sound has gone away, and it sounds like it has, so I fixed something. Anyway, back to that. This is KI-70QH. KI-70QH, K7WFP. Well David, you found just fine. Jack, give me a screenshot of the Vodascope, and you are nailing Lake Forest Park and very high on Cougars, so the signal is getting out, and your audio is fine, so congratulations. This is John W7JSM. I am absolutely fine this evening. Had a great day today. Let's see, Lake Washington's last rain or shine net of the season. Had a great turnout. Jack was there. A whole bunch of people were there. It was a great deal of fun. And had a really good net in the process while we were there today. Had a great time doing that. And then the wife and I went out to dinner later on this evening. And just kind of had a chill day actually. So it's been very good. Got all my rain or shine stuff, all my material, my radio and all the other stuff all put away in the closet for the wintertime. And now we'll be moving to hang out at the hanger in Kenmore. So inside no net, just ham radio hangout. So it should be a lot of fun. October 25th is the first one. And now I'm looking forward to the PSRG Rain or Shine Net, the Halloween net. So that should be a lot of fun down in Gasworks. I'm definitely looking forward to that. And other than that I've just been playing guitar and I'm learning the major scales on the neck of the guitar. So this is a little mind boggling but I'm starting to get it. W7JSM. W7JSM, K7WFP. Well John, we're always eager to hear your reports on your guitar progress. I recall when you just start and your fingers are so sore but it sounds like you're making great progress on that. And thank you also for reminding us of the hanger, what do you call them? Hanger, I forget what the name of it is. But it's the winter version of the Lake Washington Ham Club Rain or Shine. They're indoors. And for the people on the net who have never been to one, they have this wonderful facility up in, oh I'm blanking. Is that Kenmore? I think it's Kenmore. You'll find it on their website. Really nice indoor facility. There's a coffee, there's a stressor over in the corner there. And people just get there and hang around like an outdoor rain or shine but you don't get wet. Very nice. Thank you John, good for reminding us. Let's move ahead now and talk to Brian. K7KZH. Brian, what's happening with you tonight?"}]}
