I, um, I played a little bit of music because I don't think I've been a day without playing in a long time. Not since I broke my wrist, and for like two weeks I couldn't play. And then as soon as they put a cast on it, we let my fingers move without disaligning the newly put together wrist. There's a club, there's the International Club of D.C. You can get on there, email us for free. And there's Events DC, which is another one that is a competitor. They do embassy events. Some of them are free, some of them are not. Tonight's was not free. The Austrian Embassy has a lot of events and they're almost always free. Concerts by Conservatory students, sometimes there will be people turning in the United States. I've met the Ambassador several times, the Ambassador from Austria. I met the Ambassador from Serbia on Friday night at the Serbian Embassy. Nothing special about getting invited really. You get on the mailing list and you get a ticket. Again, some of them are free, some of them are not. And they check you against the list. Some of the embassies are quite large, as the French Embassy is. And Serbia is a small, kind of cozy embassy. But it's a lot of fun. You see a lot of the same people at these events. And if you like to travel and you're curious about the world, it is quite interesting and I've enjoyed that. Not personal at all, Bill. I like to see people at these events and I like to meet people. K7WFB, this is AF4LL. Well, thank you Bill. That is absolutely fascinating. I had no clue there was a perk like that for living in that area. That is fascinating, makes me really envious. That just plain sounds like fun. Thanks so much. Well, let's see what KK7KHE Adam has to say. What's up? Oh, you're meshtastic Adam, aren't you, I think. Pardon me if I'm wrong. K7WFB, over to you. Good evening, this is KK7KHE Adam in Pocatello, southeastern Idaho. Not meshtastic, all-star node. Here I got a clear node. It's one of the greatest little devices I ever ordered. Pocket to you guys tonight on my 30-plus year vintage DHC1000 Motorola radio. It's one of the best sounding radios I have. It's one of the only ones I have that has complete logistics in it or logics in it. It's not like a radio on a chip like most of my QITs and my MAL things and stuff. So hopefully I sound pretty good to you guys. Didn't do a lot today, just some gardening, hanging out with my pets, waiting for my wife to get off work. Back to net. Have a great evening. KK7KHE. Adam, thank you so much. Pardon for the confusion. Adam up in Shoreline here in western Washington who does a lot with meshtastic. I guess your call just reminded me of his. But yeah, that Motorola, an old equipment I understand, just had really good audio. Yours is a little bit hot I think, but sounds really, you know, we can hear you. That's for sure. Sounds great. Thanks for checking in. Let's talk to Robert. KK7ZRY. Robert. Good evening everybody on the net. Glad to be with you this evening. I have an interesting dilemma. I was working today, I was rebuilding a deck, and I have a shop smith, a 1954 sort of all-in-one tool. I primarily use it as a table saw. Last weekend a friend of mine though, at his own house, had a little nip. He took a tip of a finger off. The kind of thing always scares me. It kind of begs the question, when is it time to say, you know what, I need to own a table saw anymore. So I'm looking at this beloved old piece of equipment and I'm asking myself that question. But anyway, that's a question without a solution. I do have a question though. I've got a radio question. That's a relative newbie. I got my ticket in March I think. I hear people use the word motoscope or motor scope. I do not know if I'm hearing that correctly. I do know what it is. It sounds like some sort of magic device and I am curious to know what it is. So I'll send it back to the net. KK7ZRY. Robert, thank you so much. This is K7WFP in Seattle. Not magic at all. It is the net you're listening to, created and sponsored by Puget Sound for PETA Group, uses a network of let's say hot five or six ears. In other words, the system has one, two, three, four, five, six, six hearing locations spaced around the Puget Sound. So we're sort of Puget Sound, sort of a bowl. So all around the bowl are these five stations in the mountains. And then the system samples the best signal coming in on a very frequent basis, milliseconds I believe, and the system votes for which one is getting the best signal and that's the one that passes on to the repeater. So that's why we call it a voterscope and you can find it for yourself if you go to our main page, psrg.org and let me just take a look. It's pretty easy to find if I remember. Let's see, where do you find it? Well actually if you go on the main page, if you just look over to the right, you'll see the two meter voterscope, also a six meter one. So that's what it is, no big magic. By the way, you've made some contacts before this I assume? This isn't your first contact as a HAN is it? No, I'm a regular visitor to the net. I work full time so I can't check in every day, but I do check in once or twice a week for sure. And do enjoy it, kk7zry. Very good, yeah I just, it's good to have you and as you know you're welcome anytime. I remember that Shopsmith stuff back from the 50s and yeah in the 50s, 50 wasn't the priority and fingertips were vulnerable, still are of course. I had a radio arm saw from the 60s, just as lethal and I came to the position where you are thinking about it a number of years ago and decided it was time. You can always get one of those super new table saws that have the immediate stop feature, you know, where they demonstrate with frankfurters rather than your fingers. They're pretty cool, so why don't you hang in there, I guess they cost a bit though. Anyway, thank you for stopping by Robert, love to have you, come by anytime. Let's talk to an, oh I can't even talk, Brooks, let's talk to you Brooks, come ahead."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-07-19T22:22:17+00:00","id":7961,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":7960,"text":" quick reset after my radio beeped at me, peaking its IPPRS output, and then I didn't realize I was doubling with you there. Sorry, Robert, that was probably my fault. I guess I did not listen for your call. I will be more attentive. Anyway, there is a pass, an ISS pass, in four minutes, 63 degrees maximum height, so hop out there and actually bring your HD with you so you can continue on the net and go watch it go over. I wish I could do that, but I'm gonna delude into my seat here with your earphones and everything so I can hear everybody. As well as I can hear anything, which isn't too good sometimes. You're listening to the 9 p.m. PSIG SocialNet. My name is Bill, K7WFB, and time's marching on, but maybe there's a few more people who wanna join us, so let's give them the opportunity in this, I don't know, let's call it round four, I think, something like that. Come ahead now if you wanna talk to us. Call, sign, and name, please. EX2CW, what time is the ISS going on? Chris and Kenmore. Chris and Kenmore, let me acknowledge you first and let me answer Joan's question. The time is 10.15, and it comes up from the horizon in the west-northwest, disappears in the east. There you go, Joan. I don't know if you want to, did you wanna check in, did you wanna report also after the ISS, Joan? Yeah, I'll just check back in for now, my own. Take care, everybody, K7W. Okay, Joan, you can come around again. Let's go over to Chris and Kenmore. Come ahead, Chris. Hey, thank you very much for having me. I just went out and filled up my truck with gas, about $100, I recommend you don't drive a turbocharged V8 if you don't wanna pay that much. Actually, I do not know about the ISS pass. I'm getting close to a parking lot. I might pull over and see if I can spot it. I don't have anything with me that could receive the SS TV, though. And then to Robert's point, I have been always very pleased with Diode Dynamics, but I'm going to look up Mission X tonight and see if that's anything enticing. That's all the thoughts that are going through my head right now, KK7PZU. KK7PZU, I think you said. Thank you, Chris. Yeah, I think, the turbo, you and Robert and Kami ought to go in together on a nice oil well investment, I think is what you guys need. By the way, for anyone who is watching the ISS and has a HT, you can hear there is a repeater on that thing that is very easy to hear if you don't wanna bother with the SS TV. I am blanking on the frequency. It's UHF 440 something point eight, but I don't remember. Does anybody have that frequency handy? Jamie, Madeline, Brooks, Nate, Sam, Dave, Sean, Joan, Kirk, Paul, Ben, Brian, Rebecca, Robert, Kim, E.J., and Matt and Max from the museum. A lot of folks, there's more, but that's all I can fit in a list this quickly. It was a great meet up, great to see everyone. I saw and talked to Christine for a while there at the end right before I left. Just hanging out and catching up with folks that I haven't seen in a while. Looking forward to being back for another one or a rain or shine if I can manage it before they end for the season. It's a good time overall. Really enjoyed myself. Fun listening to Kirk, the parts of it that I could catch. Thanks for running on that. Thanks for being there everybody. Nice to see everyone and hope to see you all again soon. KJ7, WQI. Well Matt, thank you for that good report of the picnic. I am just so impressed with the list of names you rattled off. Well first of all, how many people did you talk to? That's great. I think you remember them and must have written them down or something. That was very impressive. As someone said earlier, I think it was Dean, it's just really frustrating to have these wonderful conversations. And then you realize all the people you didn't get to talk to that time. But, you know, we'll get to see them again, rain or shine. Actually, that is a wonderful segue because that was the end of round two and they tell me at the end of round two, I'm supposed to do the announcements and there is a rain or shine coming up. Let me just drop for a second and come back with that. This is Komet. My name is Bill, you're listening to the 9TM DSRG social net and it's time for the announcements. They're not too long. Very briefly, as usual, well I should say next Saturday I have Radio Club of Tacoma listed as their open house from ten to two. I know we always put that on the list next week. I don't know if they ever don't do it, but you can probably tell from their webpage. Anyway, probably Saturday, August 2nd, open house ten to two down in Tacoma. And I know that SimplexNet goes come hell or high water basically 8 PM next Saturday on 146.56. Great, great thing to do. Then we do have another rain or shine coming up on Sunday, August 10th on the east side of Green Lake, just north of the paddle boat rentals in the Green Lake Cafe and that concession stand there. And we're going to have the new net hosted by Kameon Robert. And there's some mysterious thing about an ice cream ticket. So if you're partial ice cream or if you just like hanging around with hands, you put that down on your calendar. Sunday, August 10th and it's the new net so it must be starting at noon. Then the Pizza-San Antique Radio Advantage and Electronic Swap Meet at Shoreline Community College, August 17th from nine to two. Always fun. And that brings you right through the summer to Labor Day. So let's turn right back to our conversations and open round three of the 9 PM social net. My name is Bill, K7WFB. You want to talk to us? Now's your chance. Come ahead with your call sign and your name. You move up there with a comment. Well, I think we have missed. Let's get a double there. The repeater operates at a frequency of 146.96 with a negative offset and a PL tone of 103.5. All licensed hams and new licensees just getting started are welcome to join. We went up my buddy's place up in the hills. And I had my HT. And I said, my buddy who wasn't here, he was trying to listen to the Mir space station. Now on there, the only thing they would do was pack a radio. And so it was clarinet. And so I turned and put my radio on the frequency that Mir was, which I don't remember what it was now. And then so all of a sudden, we were listening. And all of a sudden, we could hear the sound going ee, ee. And then it would go ee, ee. And it got louder and louder. And it got brighter and brighter. And when it came over the top of us, literally, it was rattling my radio. Because it was coming, the signal was so strong off of it. And when it got right to the highest point, it must have got a perfect reflection, I guess, from the sun. Because all of a sudden, it had a big burst of light. And then we saw it coming down and going down. And still the whole time going ee, ee, ee, ee. And then it went off the horizon and away it went. And my buddy who was not a handle was very impressed. I was impressed. What the heck, man? That was really something. Anyway, that was a lot of fun. But the space station is the top and coolness. And the Mir is a distant second. So back to you, Bill. AB6MB. AB6MB, K7WSB. I have to say, Jeff, you do a fantastic invitation of a digital signal from a satellite. We could launch you and have great communication. And I'm sorry to tell you, but Mir is longer ago than 15 years ago. It's way the hell back then. I just Googled it. It was in orbit from 86 until 2001. So it's way back there. Ancient history. A lot of younger folk probably never heard of the damn thing. All right. Thank you, Jeff. Let's see. Now we're going to pop over and talk to Kingston Bill, KC5WSH. Come ahead, Bill. Thank you, Bill. K7WSB, KC5WSH over here in sleepy Kingston. Bill, good day over here. Wife and I loaded up this morning. Got down one cup of coffee before we hit the trail and motored over to Fort Townsend. We're in a rut, I guess. Let's see, stopped at the little cafe there at the airstrip and had the usual fare. It was a cloud cover. Cloud deck pretty low. So that's going to curtail the folks flying in and out there. Let's see. Stuck around there for a bit. Then we went on into town, Fort Townsend. Some kind of a change going on there at the boat haven. A lot of things were out of pocket. I'll use that term. A lot of the boats that you typically see in locations where they're doing a bottom job on them, they weren't there. So I'm not sure what maybe a big administration shake up there. I'm not sure. Then we went on over, let's see, to Whimper's Mercantile there. I don't know if you're familiar with that place. Dry goods, clothing, sporting goods, and so forth. And they've got a big change up in the parking arrangement. And you got to watch your step. It's not pay parking, but if you stay too long, I don't know what they do. They may get after you with a big switch. But from there on over to the farmer's market and walked through there and the usual fare, pristine vegetables. So that's what we did. And we had a fun time returning. We got hung up in something crossing there at the canal bridge. So I'll leave it at that. This is repeater station. Oh, I bet your butt hurts by getting hit by the alligator there, but we heard you just about up to the end. Actually, let me just toss it back to you and make sure you were done. Go ahead, Bill. Yes, I did. Yeah, I think I'm bleeding here. I better check. Well, anyhow, got to cut it a little too close. Good day for us over here. Got back home before dark, and all is well. So good day. All right, thank you very much, Bill, for picking her up. And I want to send you a text to see if you followed through on the gentleman over here in my neighborhood that may have been helped on that HF arrangement there. I'll leave it at that. Kind of a messy comment, but I think you know what I've talked about. Carry on, everybody. Have a good night and a good day tomorrow. KC5, WFH. KC5, WFH, K7, WFB. Thank you, Bill. I passed that along to Rich, and I think he's following up on that. I'll be in touch with you. But you had your usual tour over to Port Townsend. I got to come up sometime and join you for that. Just always sounds like fun. Thanks so much. And let's see. Now we have another visitor from the remote parts of the internet, ZS4DP. Call sign and name, please come now. Well hey, you know what, let's hear from Boston over the bill. So we'll still continue trying to build the round, but I'm curious to hear what he has going on. Good morning Bill, KG7SWB, how are you doing? Good morning Theresa and Dana, yeah strange morning. Anyway, I want to know which one of you is telling the truth. You both refer to each other as your better half. Which one is telling the truth? Hi, hi. Anyway, this morning I'm going to go out and do some shopping. Looking forward to the Green Lake Ice Cream Social tomorrow, I will be there. And yeah, I haven't done real well at Mahjong this week. So I still consider myself a student and every game I learn a little bit more. So that's about all I have other than our get together tonight for music. And we never know what's going to occur. Anyway, back to you KG7SWB. Hey good morning, Bill great hearing from you. And gosh, you know it's funny I have a friend who plays Mahjong and of course my first understanding she laughed at me because I was thinking of just a little, gosh kind of online you know you sometimes get this Mahjong game it's basically just pairing tiles, it's not the real game you know that actually takes a while to understand and learn and practice and all that. So when I mentioned that she laughed at me and I was like oh no this is actually way more in depth than that. So anyway, good on you. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the music. You know I have to say when we were at the picnic a couple weeks ago, I sure enjoyed watching you play the guitar with Dave. That was a lot of fun to watch and listen to. Good stuff, have a wonderful weekend and 73 Bill, great to hear from you. Okay, KG7FWB, KG7AI, still looking for stations for round two. All I need is a call sign and name, please come now. This is Kilo 7 Whiskey Foxtrot Bravo Bill also but it's Whiskey Foxtrot Bravo. Well good morning Bill, Kilo 7 Whiskey Foxtrot Bravo, I've got you on the list, let's try and build a round. So don't worry. I will say that that story has a happy ending though, because although I embarrassed myself publicly by having a completely wrong result of what I was attempting to flashfully show off, it turned out it was the aluminum tripod. You know, the FJ2289 antenna is, you know, the ginormous rabbit ears that without the coils is a half-wave dipole for 20 meters. It will turn down all the way to about 13 megahertz with those long 5.3 meter or 17.5 foot long dipoles. So, poles, poles, to the two of them end up being a half-wave antenna for 20 meters. But the post that you mount on the tripod, you know, the MFJ tripod, that post is not metal, it is made out of fiberglass. And if you mount the hub that has a ganella type, you know, feedline type 4 to 1 ballon, that post goes right next to you and brushes against the windings on the toroid of the ballon. I was attempting to use a smaller, much more lightweight tripod to partially demonstrate that the antenna could be more portable by skipping the heavy duty tripod. Unfortunately, the aluminum post sticking up in there ends up totally screwing up. It, you know, it has reactants with the toroid that's right next to it. And so, with the help of Don, I think it was, he and another ham that I can't remember his name, I hope that they send the emails that they said they would because that way I'll be able to sort out who's who, we held it up of that. And everything changed. And so I managed to do what I was seeking for, which is to have a 1.00 to 1 SWR at the desired frequency and the entire 300 kilohertz of the 20 meter band is still all below 1.2 to 1. Aside from that, I thought it was a lovely outing that we have every year and I'm so glad I got to see everyone, I'm out of time, KX2-CW, all the numbers to all my hams, Joan on Broadway handing it back to them. Well, Joan, thank you very much for giving us both a lesson in antenna mechanics and another embarrassing story. Maybe we'll make that a theme for tonight. Maybe we can come up with embarrassing stories that we've all committed because we are human. Who knew? It's interesting that you got a flat open SWR with that oddball reactant, but you found a way past it with Buddy, a little help from my friends. Let's move on now and talk to Brian, if I have this call right. And if he's Brian and not Ryan, KK7MZW, come ahead. That was perfect. This is Brian, KK7MZW, walking on the city streets with a family member who may or may not choose to, no, she's shaking her head. Sometimes we get third party traffic, but not today. It was kind of a big radio day for me. I went up to Cougar Mountain and did the Lake Washington Time Club Rain or Shine. Kind of cold, kind of stormy exactly, but not summery. Kept my motorcycle gear on and my warming hat the whole time I was up there. But it warmed up, so it's really nice here in Kirkland right now. We're just walking around the neighborhood and kind of enjoying the sunset and the view of the city of Seattle and Lake Washington. And it was a pretty nice radio day. Oh, and the SimplexNet. And that was funny because the host of the SimplexNet was on Cougar Mountain and I didn't bump into him there. But that's all right. KK7MZW, back to net control. Brian, quick question. Who is the reluctant third party with you? This is my daughter. She's been on the radio a few times. Oh, very good. Well, maybe we'll get to talk to her next time. Sounds like a nice day. And the Lake Washington Hand Club. Boy, I wish our local hand clubs wouldn't schedule over each other. Somebody must coordinate stuff as everybody knows, I'm sure, the PSRG technique at the Zolgia Park was today. We have few enough meetings. We should be able to go to them all because we're all friends, basically. Let me see, did I come in here getting the people checked in here, John, Brian, then we had an I.O. from Bill, KN9, CWC, and an earlier one from Peter and Santa Cruz. I think I muddled my way through that round. So let's move on to the next round. But for the beginning of this next round, I want to save this first opportunity to check in to anybody who thought I blew it on the last round, who thought you checked in and I didn't call on you. So that's the first person, the first people I want to hear from is anybody who thinks they should have been in the first round. This is K7WFB, come ahead with your call sign and name."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-07-26T21:38:38+00:00","id":11007,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":11006,"text":" Yeah, and Rich needs to get back over here so you don't get all the threats from being solo there. So Rich, you gotta stop going on vacation and traveling, that's just all there is to it. Meanwhile, I've been hearing good reports about the picnic today and I'm actually on Facebook right now, starting to look at the pictures and everything and Madeline doing her live part which is pretty cool. So I'm going to be looking at it over there and enjoying it. Here at the Bay Area today it was about 70 degrees out today and sunny and a very nice day. The squirrels were out there on the patio doing their bit, having a good time out there. Rocky came out to the sliding glass door late this afternoon and stood up and looked in at me. You know, he's quite a squirrel. You know, when I first met him, so to speak, I looked out there and this squirrel was across the courtyard. And I looked over and he looked at me and he came running from where I was. And I said, well I guess you're going to give you some peanuts there. And ever since then he's been keeping up the good work. And I was watching my Dodgers lose today and I just did some pieces and doing some work here on this thing I'm going to start doing, trying to put together some kind of a thing for travel around the Bay Area and see what I can do to make it unique. And so that people would download it and buy different pieces of it, so to see what happens. There's a lot of haunted places around here, as probably there is up there. And so that's part of the thing I'm working on too. But yeah, it feels neat listening to the nets today. You know, the new net I really got a kick out of and that was great. And so I was also watching tour de France and man, when these guys have these bicycle credits, they have a big bunch of them going, you know, riding around. And man, sometimes people make a mistake and there's bikes going every which way. And I even saw one guy one time have like four bikes stacked on top of him. The riders weren't on it, but their bikes were and they had to kind of pull them out of these bikes. You know, these bikes are all carbon fibers, so they're really light, so it's not like he's getting crushed. But it looked pretty bad when you looked at it. And then they go sliding along that pavement, you know, with the base coat. They got his repeater, he's got his coat on, and then kind of just, I see him with big straight parts in that. And some just can't go any farther, he's just too banged up, so I feel for them. So with that, I'll turn it back to the net. I hope everybody out there has a good night. This is Alpha Bravo 6, Mike Bravo. 86MD, K7WFB. Jeff, quick question, where can we find it tour de France? Appreciate the encouragement. I know this is tough because I'm realizing that one of the things you have to deal with when you're doing a net is all the texts that it jacks into you. So, anyway, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. And next is definitely Brooks' better half, Megan K9MLR. Over to you. Good evening to you, Dean, and hello to Jack and everyone else out there on the net. K9MLR, Megan here at home in Newcastle. Excited to hear you out there tonight, but definitely more excited to see everyone tomorrow for the ice cream social. As Brooks mentioned, it was a very busy day. We have been very busy, but lots of things getting done, and I'm a little bit envious. My brother moved into a very beautiful view of the apartment. He is in South Lake Union, so the apartment faces back towards the Space Hill and towards the water there. So, yeah, a little bit close to that, but I'm not sure of the city life. I definitely like living in the suburbs, but that's just my personal thing. Anyway, thank you for being that excited for tomorrow. I've got all the tickets right by the door so I don't forget them. See you all tomorrow at 73. K9MLR. Thanks, Megan. Yeah, I look forward to seeing these tickets. I have a feeling they're not your typical, I mean there's been a lot of fanfare going on about them, so I'll be looking forward to that. So thanks for checking in and gracing our net tonight. Next, we have another person. Well, everybody on here is a person, but let's just give it up for Rebecca KK7IJZ. Well, Dean, the joke's on you, I'm not a person. Boom! I have a figment of everyone's imagination. Just joking. Dean! You're doing it. You're doing it. You're doing it. I'm so excited. You can't see me do my happy dance, but it's happening. But anyway, I had a great day. It was a wonderful, wonderful day. I spent most of the day in my PJs. I get to see some of your little faces. I got to hear Madeline be your first check-in. What a day. August 9th goes down in the books as the day the Dean goes to the net. 88 and 73 and all the numbers Dean and KK7IJZ. And 33 and 64 and 70. Say again, all of the ladies. Thanks, Rebecca. I appreciate you checking in. Well, I just appreciate you in general. So, yeah, it's always good to say hi to, say hi to Andy for me as well. Next we got Justin, KK7QES. How are you, Justin? Well, hello, Dean. 73. I have never heard you and Jack calling at 9 p.m. now. Either of you. But it is so good to hear both of you. I was out late and was expecting to hear Rich and Bill. I think they are both well. But I'm so excited to hear you taking over my control. Anyway, super cool. You're doing a great job. I haven't really heard much of any help, but you're all doing great. Anyway, I've had a great day. Lots of time outside in the garden. Just, I don't know. It helps me just feel completely relaxed. And I got my cucumber trellis back under control. My jalapenos are so close to being ready for harvest. I'm really excited about that. I'm trying to convince my girls to eat a jalapeno with me. They are not enthusiastic so far, but we'll see. And then some other boring yard chores. And then this afternoon I installed a pulley system in my girls' bedroom. So about a year ago I built them some loft beds. And they wanted a pulley system with a bucket to be able to move things up and down. So we finally got that done. And they've been playing with that all evening. It's been really fun. And quite hilarious listening to them. And then lastly, I'm just watching the Marius game. And it's really cool. Tonight was the ceremony for retiring hero number 51 prior to the game. It was a really cool ceremony. And it seems like the entire, all the guys you would expect from the 95 team to be there. And the 2001 guys and all that. Anyway, a really fun game to be watching. Dean, I hope you're doing great. Thank you for running the night tonight. And Jack as well. I'll send it back. KK7 QES. AF4LL. AF4LL. AF4LL. Good afternoon from your in-depth interview with NYS. We've no further traffic coming in and out for the future. So much for coming in and I hope things go well for you over in the Philippines. And next we've got, we have Jeff, B6MB. Down in Bolivia, before I ended up, Jeff lives not too far from where I grew up. He lives over in Union City, which is about, oh, I don't know, he's on the other side of the, I grew up in Palo Alto. So he's about 10 or 15 miles from where I grow up. So I know his area. And then we're going to head over to you, Jeff. Okay, Dean, I'm going to preach to you host of the net. I said, you know, I can't miss this. I got to go support Dean there. I'm feeling great there. I wouldn't expect to go west. Yeah, here at San Francisco Bay Area, it was about, we got up in the mid-80s. It's a warm day and it's 78 degrees out there right now. But, you know, not a sunny day then. Yeah, just watching the Dodgers win the game and hopefully the Mariners are doing the same. I root for the Dodgers, so always good. The hometown team. Okay, great job to you, Dean. Keep up the good work, AB6MB. All right, Jeff, thanks a lot. I appreciate your check-in. And yes, the next and the last person on this list is AF4LL Bill from Arlington, Virginia. And before I hand it over to you, I always enjoy when you check in because I've heard you mention that your apartment or your home overlooks the Iwo Jima memorial. And my father used to live, like, there's no way you don't live like one or two buildings or maybe even in the same building. It was a 1200 North Nash Street in a building called Prospect House. So I know that area in the back of my hand. So, yeah, over to you, AF4LL. Well, good morning from Iwo Fort Historic, Arlington, Virginia. Yeah, that's about right. I'm very close to Iwo Jima, Fort Meyer, Arlington Cemetery. I'm seven floors up. I have a wonderful view of the area. I have a two meter station here and a ten meter station. I've worked a hundred and three hundred to a cycle with a hand stick and a strike to nine five five and a President Lincoln two plus. So intent on doing real well. I enjoy getting on that going here also, sir. And I've been on this net soup numerous times, as you have pointed out. And let me get your call to the log, please. I've been here many years ago. Hi. Hi. I love pretty much everything. So I'm glad to be here this morning. It's beautiful. It's going to be about 60 degrees by morning. And like I said, the view is tremendous. Coming and going right to Reagan National all the time to see the Pentagon, to see the Jefferson Memorial, to see the Kennedy Center. So I got a pretty good view here. And yeah, you seem like you know the area. Back to you, sir. Again, if I can get your name and your call for the log. This is AF4LL. This is repeater station Kilo, Kilo, and of course my whole son Kilo Gulls, Sadwin, Oscar, and my name is Dean. So yeah, again, always enjoy having you check in. And we'll hear you soon. So just before the rubber meets the road, I'm going to hand the mic over to Jack. KI7RMU over to you. G70D. Alright, the great round nicely played my friends. Fantastic. We'll see. That's what greatness can do right there. Alright, this is Jack KI7RMU. I'm going to read the announcement. That is one announcement. And that is for tomorrow, Sunday, August 10th, PSRG, Season 7, Episode 5, The Rain or Shine Net, and Ice Cream Social at Green Lake. We're in the lake and on our website to find out all the details. PSRG.org. It's a new net host by Kamri and Robert. You heard them here earlier. And we're celebrating summer and the recent marriage of Brooks and Megan. Megan has purchased some special tickets to get your ice cream treat at the Green Lake Cafe and stand right nearby. And boy do they have a lot to choose from. That place is well stocked. Alright, that is the announcement. We have lots more, but I just want to get to that one right there. Alright, this is Jack KI7RMU. This is the 9 o'clock net, 936P. Let's get some more check-ins. Come in. Call, sign, and name. 7, this is Fox 5 Bravo, Bill, A7WXC. Alright, I got Bill. Who is here? Station 7 was Bill. Come ahead. J, J7, RJL, Fermison. RJL, what else do we have? J, Alpha, E, Alpha 7, Lima, Romeo, Cody, and the 9-0. Sam, Paul, Bernal, Thank you, Cody, AG7, L.O. I think I heard Jim in there. Was that Jim? KI7, BZ. Well, I didn't say anything, but I did press the button. I can, I can simulcast. And yes, I heard everybody else that didn't say anything. But, yes, I am here, Jack. KI7, BZ. Well, I heard a K, and I knew it was you. That's how I knew that. That's interesting. Alright, well, we didn't say anything, but I don't know if I'm just, I'm hallucinating like Chad, HPT4. Chad, HPT5 apparently did lots of lists. Alright, Jim, I'm gonna put you on the list. Who else? Sam, 7, I'm going with our guest. Chris is calling 9-0. Hey, Steve, you're at the Los Angeles Home Station with the I.O. Come back, please leave your call, sign and name. Kilo, I'm an officer, Julia, Kilo, KSM and OJK, Chris is calling, I.O., good evening. Hey, Chris, nice to hear you. Thank you so much for your call, I.O. tonight. You have a good night and enjoy the rest of the weekend, KSM and OJK. Let's take one more station, please, for round three. K-3 is the low east. Alright, we got Rich in there. Yeah, so, Rich, you've been fishing. We'll explain that when we get to you. Alright, let's go back to Bill, K7WFB. Bill, did you co-host you tonight? What were you? I did co-host you, indeed. That is so good of you both for Rich and me since we're both out of town. Thank you so much, lovely to hear from all my Saturday night friends. I'm up here in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia on Vancouver Island with my wife for staying a week or so and just have a nice place on the shores of the Gulf of Brazil looking kind of northeast back into the interior. Very pretty. And talking about pretty, if you've got a window you can pump your head out, go look at the moon coming up, it's especially pretty tonight. My wife is just coming in the door telling me it's unbelievable. We had a great day today. There was a little airport up here we hadn't been to before. We found there was a restaurant there so we wanted to check it out and there were these four guys standing there and they were going skydiving the business where you're kind of two pros and you latch onto the, you know, they strap you to their belly, I guess it is. Their plane came up and they told us to go home so he zoomed off about a 15 minute drive to this field and watched them jump on the plane for the first time, the two guys for the first time from 10,000 feet. It was a great time. There were actually three of them all together, three college students, one from Japan, one from Germany, one from the United States, one from the United States. That's the whole axis, isn't it? I didn't realize that. Anyway, very nice kids and took some photos and videos. We're going to send them. Anyway, we had a lot of fun. Good fun day. Back to you Jack, and to you and Dean. Lovely talking to you. Good to see you. You organized your bill, thank you so much. Come ahead KJ7RJL. Just a quick question there Jack, how's my perception coming in because you guys are a little tired on my interest. I'm going to go to the airport tomorrow because of my transportation. Accessing isn't going to get me to vote on time or the posters coming back to place again. I'm going to take a seat and grab a t-shirt set for the transportation. I guess you can get three ice creams tomorrow because I was going to bring Chat with me. I was going to sell some of those tickets over there. Like I said, I probably only have 10 left. Where the amateur radio club and I do the polo shot in. I didn't want to be over there. Let me drop a sec. Yeah, well, seeing you there doing that and receiving back to when I was over there working and then seeing him talk with a few other people. I'm going to put vinyl records and everything and the colors and whatever, how big they were and how small they were and all the collections that he's got. Wow. Yes, I want to be very nice though. We have the spot at Green Lake where it is shady. Check that today. After dinner, we wrote on the cycle, I put lights on the cycle. I talked about that so we can be out now as sunset is getting sooner and sooner and sooner. We can be out after dark now because we now have bad lights. And then all the time, evening all night was the beautiful, beautiful moonrise tonight. This is the time of the year that the moon rises over the hills on the other side of the lake. It was absolutely spectacular tonight. And then we get to top it off with a nine o'clock. What a fantastic day. So anyway, back everybody from there on the East side. And hope you guys have a fantastic time tomorrow at the Rain or Shine. It's going to be all shine and a lot of ice cream. So anyway, back to Jack's Delties everybody. This is Jim and Tina, Tina Lake, K7. Good to see you, Zach. Alright, well Jim, thank you so much for checking in. Of course, enjoy your great Sunday out there, dear Lake. Hope you get a lot of skiing and it'll be a lot of fun. Alright, let's go talk to my neighbor now. N70WG Steve, we're going to hear you on a Saturday night. Go ahead. I'll often check in to the nine o'clock but a big thing's been happening here at 32nd Northeast. First off, I want to ask a question. Is anybody else experiencing the kind of a clipping of audio? It kind of reminds me of an imitation of it. So when you're talking and it sounds like this... It's breaking up the audio. I wonder if it's just smooth, the skin would hear or is it coming across to everyone. That's number one. Any comment on that, Jack? We're not imagining that it is real. We did not get a chance to restart the machine before the internet. I apologize but I would like to do that if we can. Maybe do a quick restart but I don't want to compromise the net at this point. So we're going to continue on but it doesn't sound that bad. It's not like Lloyd Bridges in Steak Hunt. But anyway, it is a little broken up but we're just going to continue. Go ahead, Steve. That's 7GWG, KI7RMU. KI7RMU and 7GWG. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I thought it might be one of the settings on the squelch, you know, clipping off to the signals at my end. The main thing here was that 48 hours ago we had a backup, a sewer backup in the house and we got some folks to come out and they said, We'll cut it for 99 bucks. I said, that's a deal, that's a deal. But of course, then they cambered the sewer line and said, if you want to get rid of this reoccurring problem with ruts and stuff, we can line the 35 foot of your sewer line and you'll never, never have to do anything again. And Donna and I looked at Donna and Donna looked at me and we went, Oh, jeez, that's another trip we can't afford now. But we bought it and these guys were on site within two hours, cutting the hole down to our sewer line and today they came back and they finished this super duper kind of a lining of the, they put this, this, this kind of phrase. A big condom in the line and it's with epoxy and they stuff another line that, that, that, they said, they ballooned and it forces the epoxy to the surface of the old line. And then thirdly, they stuffed this electrical lighting, the blue light, the blue light down there and it cures the epoxy and then they pull this all out and you're done for another 100 years. I'm not telling you how much it cost, but it was really interesting to see it done. And so that's, that's the last 48 hours of our house and 7 GWG. Alright Steve, yeah, that's a great process they have and so that way they don't have to bring in the ditch witch and dig up your yard and do all that and then, you know, charge you all that money. So it is somewhat easy, that's for sure. Well, you know, maybe you can go to Fife or something instead of Europe, I don't know, maybe some place like that, not too far away. Anyway, good to hear you and say hi to Don and say hi to the dozer and thank you so much Steve, good to hear you my friend. And of course Steve lives not too far from me, you're in Northern Seattle. Alright we're going to go and I'm going to acknowledge Chris with his check-in, KF70JK and TIO. We're going to go talk to the fisherman and he's going to have to explain that now, he just posted something a bit on the Facebook group. Rich, K30E, West Seattle, how are you? Well good evening Jack and everyone. Well, I haven't had any adventure like Steve had, that's for sure, thank goodness. But yeah, I'm fishing for singles this evening. I got the old fishing net out and, you know, I just a few screws and a couple of clamps so I can attach the cable and by golly, the SWR is good and it's working great. So I get right about that, that's for sure. Anyway, first up, well, got a little quilt project done, let's see, tomorrow I'm going to bring some stuff that you might want to take along to at least a few things along to donate so I'll have those and yeah, so anyway looking forward to ice cream. Back to you K2E. Alrighty now, alright, well do you think you might have to share some with Pueblo too or possibly risk losing a kneecap? Entirely possible Jack, oh my goodness, I don't know if the place there has pumped guts but we'll find out. In any case, he will be along and I've heard, the rumor has it there's going to be a lot of huffs tomorrow. Back to you K3O8. Yeah, that's for sure, and Green Lake was packed today and they do have a water bowl outside for dollars at the Green Lake Cafe which is really nice of them, they're a great group. Alright, well thank you Mitch, have a good evening, you get some sleep too and stay out of Pueblo for us and we'll talk to you soon. Let's get it over now to Dean, KG70DB with round 14. Take it away please. Thank you Jack, I gotta tell ya, I think the full moon is bringing them out tonight. So anyway this is Dean, KG70DB and we're going to go to round 4. Call sign and name. KG772I miss. We've got Matt with a recheck. Four stations please. November 3rd, I'm in my box please. November 3rd, I'm in my box please. I'm in my box please. I'm in my box please. I'm in my box please. Hello Dean, hello Jack. Hello Jack. Hello Dean. We've got a great evening and a great show. I'm really looking forward to meeting you in the fall report with you this morning. Hello, team. This is Charlie. DC2, SPO. Checking in. We've got Charlie."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-23T21:27:04+00:00","id":22921,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":22920,"text":" KA90HV returning, it's the time where the last three stories in Wings of Joy take place. And trying to figure out where this particular story is going to end up going is kind of an interesting thing because it takes place over about 25 years. And I'm not one of these authors who wants to be inconsistent. Marion Zimmer Bradley was very loose about that and so the arc over kind of sprawls and overlaps. The stories overlap each other and they're kind of interesting but I would rather be consistent. So anyway, I did work a little bit on that and then I worked a little bit on Harp when I finally got to the point where I could place something coherent. And I have to say I envy Elaine in her Bible study class. I would actually like to teach Bible study on 2 Kings because that's an interesting book. And 2 Kings 5 tells the story of one of the most famous and interesting healings in the Bible. Not so much because of the healing itself but because of the relationships of the people involved and what they have to say about our own relationships. The captive girl for instance who tells her mistress that she wishes that Naman could go to the prophet in Israel who could heal him. Imagine being a slave girl having information your boss needs. Being a subordinate that has information the boss needs is always unhappy making. And there's all kinds of little relationship tidbits and that particular chapter I wrote a whole series of essays on that chapter actually which I think are on the internet somewhere. Anyway, I think that's about all I have. 733388 all the numbers. Thanks Bill for hosting the net. Thanks to all of you for listening. I love hearing you all. It's great. This is KA9EHV back to Matt. KA9EHV K7WFB. Thank you Ann. You began by saying you didn't do much today. You told us about quite a bit of good stuff with the book and all and the Bible stuff and the compiline. Yeah, you're a busy woman. Very good. I hear that Kings 5 sounds interesting. You're reading the Bible. You don't have to read it with a religious slant. You can read it with a literature slant. And captive girl has the key info. That's a great plot. Starting right there. Very good. Let's move over to Mike. What do we have? KG7VEU. So if you ever get a chance or curious check it out. Diamond Point just east of Swin there. Let's see, other than that the rest of the day it goofed off. So there you go. Thanks for picking her up Bill. We all appreciate it. Good evening all. Oh and I had something for KC7ODB. Dean for still out there can I talk to you after that please. KC5WFA 730. Well very good. Thank you Bill. Yeah what was I going to say? Oh that two person thing. That must have been really cool. I really envy you heading over there to that airport. That just sounds like so much fun. I actually did a little bit of that. I think I mentioned that last week on the net that we were up in Vancouver Island in Qualicum Beach and went over and saw some sky jumpers getting on a plane. They told us where to drive to see them come back out and that was fun. And I may come up to see you one of these days. Let me give you a call. I was eyeing the Kingston ferry. I just like riding ferries. So they are zooming back and forth between downtown and Kingston. So we will have lunch again. Very good. Thank you. Well thanks to everybody actually. It has been an enjoyable evening. Thank you for joining me for the August 23rd PSOG 9 PM social net. We'd like to thank the Puget Sound Repeater Group for the use of this repeater. The nets are a great opportunity to test your equipment. Remember if you don't test your equipment we can't hear you. Alright, good morning from beautiful Arlington, Virginia, next to the world famous Iwo Jima Memorial, Fort Meyer, Arlington Cemetery. I'm seven floors up and the view is tremendous. It is a beautiful night here in Arlington and it's not too hot either. Here's some familiar calls and voices so far. Rebecca, of course, checking in last night. Sir, I have a very bad habit of logging every contact I make and I didn't get your call at the beginning if I could do that and put your call down. Again, my name is Bill. I'm in Arlington, Virginia. You called me Jim. I have been called worse than Jim before, so there you go. Anyway, beautiful morning here on the East Coast. This is AF4LL, back to the net. AF4LL K7WFP. Yes, I always get shaken up at the beginning at these nets and I don't get my notes very well. But Bill is a good name and that's my name and my call is Kilo 7 Whiskey Foxtrot Bravo. Or maybe you were asking for Rebecca's call which is KJ7IJZ. But in any case, thanks for checking in. Nice to hear you're having a nice day back in Arlington. Let's move down to Florida and check in with Elaine in 3OMO. Elaine, how are you tonight?"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-16T22:02:59+00:00","id":17603,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":17602,"text":" My name is Rich, WB7J, passing control for this next round to my good friend Bill, K7WFB. Over to you, Bill. And just in time, Rich. After Michael had problems with Echolink, you were cutting in and out badly on that last, your very last comments. Maybe, well, I should mention that Rich and I were talking, Rich and I were talking about his, he has some better internet down there in the places at San Miguel, but maybe it's a little unstable. Anyway, I've got RF, I'm going to look at voter scope. Yep, I got RF, so I'll do the honors just in time, I guess. My name is Bill, K7WFB. Let's get round four started. Please come ahead with your call sign and name."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-16T22:05:11+00:00","id":17607,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":17606,"text":" KI 7RMU, Jack. It's time for the 9 o'clock PSRG social net for Saturday, August 30th, 2025. I'm Bill, K7WFD. My usual co-host Rich, WB7J, is in Mexico and has somewhat funky internet connections, so he's not going to be able to co-host tonight, but perhaps he'll check in. This is a directed social net that happens on the WW7 TSR 2-meter repeater, which is located on Capitol Hill in Seattle and operated by the Puget Sound Repeater Group. The repeater operates at a frequency of 146.96 with a negative offset and a TL tone of 103.5. All licensed hands and new licensees just getting started are welcome to join. If you have third-party traffic, we'd like to hear from them too. We encourage you to press that button, tell us a little bit about yourself, your radio projects, or just about anything else. As always, please limit your reports to three minutes so we can get as many stations in as possible. This is also when the repeater times out. When you're finished with your report, please end with your call sign. That'll keep the FCC happy. We'll be compiling lists of stations that would like to check in, and then we'll ask for your reports. If you'd like to check in only, just let us know. You'll be in and out, also known as an I.O. Again, this is Bill, K7, WFB. Let's get the net started. Please come ahead now with your call sign and your name. Kilo Juliet 7, Juliet X-ray Mike, Robert with Kilo Juliet 7, Romeo Alpha Bravo, Jimmy. Robert and Kami, welcome. You did stay awake after your long day. Kami told you you'd been doing some driving today. Who else wants to join us? KF7LNX portable, Andrew. KF7LNX portable, Andrew, you're number three on the list. I was suspecting it was an auto from the way we were talking about it and not like a trailer. But now I know for sure. Okay, well you know what? I think you're making the right decision. Just be careful as you put your bike in and out the back. My brother was putting a bike out of a trailer and it slipped off in the rain. It was kind of rainy and it fell on top of him and twisted his ankle. So be careful there, but otherwise sounds super awesome. Yeah, I don't know. I think it's still got some time on it and you got a good idea there. Once it's totaled or just doesn't want to go anymore, just use it for parts. All right, good to hear from you Grossi. Have a great Monday. Next up is K7WFB. Bill, over to you. Well, thank you very much. Good afternoon to everybody on this Labor Day. I'm just sitting here getting ready to go over to my grandson's seventh birthday party, which happens to fall today also. So just going to see some family and a crazy seven-year-old kid. A lot of fun. The other reason I'm hopping on today is I want to get a little signal check. I'm experimenting again with my little one watt transceiver. That's the little gizmo that derives its power from an Android phone and uses the phone as the interface. So this little gizmo is just sort of RF basically. I got one watt going out into my Edfon dipole on Queen Anne. Looking at the photoscope, it's getting in very well everywhere except Buck. And I'm just a little curious about how it sounds, particularly the audio. They've just come out with a firmware release that presumably improves the audio. I may be a little hot right now. I'm going to back off the mic a little bit. I suspect this is probably a little better audio. So that's what I'm curious about is how I'm sounding on this little gizmo. Thanks very much for running that. This is Bill, K7WFD."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-09-01T12:02:41+00:00","id":29838,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":29837,"text":" Good afternoon, this is Kirk Alsagal, 7 Yankee Mike, and this is a new net on the WW7 PSR 2 meter repeater operated by the Puget Sound Repeater Group here in Seattle, Washington. I'm doing one big round today and clearing the deck, so come ahead now with your call sign and name please. Grocie, 7, whiskey, foxtrot, bravo, bill. Whiskey, 7, Oscar Hotel, BIM. This is K7 WFB. And everybody out there, you listening to the, excuse me, the 9 p.m. PSRG social net for, uh, where are we? September 6th. I'm gonna take a couple of minutes now and just run quickly through a few announcements so you guys all know what's going on. Uh, as usual, we have, uh, next Saturday, the two eternal Saturday events. So the radio club of Tacoma, uh, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. down in there, uh, down in there unique, uh, not unique, but very interesting, uh, clubhouse. I intend to, and the topic is really interesting this time. It's going to be slow scan TV. Uh, presenters going to be 87 YM Kirk. And, uh, the synopsis, uh, Jack, I guess, put in here, he said, you've heard the warbles on 14.230 megahertz. And this is going to tell you what they are, what's going on there.
