This is Roy, K87WA here in Florence. We're packing up today and heading up to Eneskon for another 14 days. So we'll be over here where it's cool. I picked a good time I guess. I think it's supposed to be like almost 100 a day in Salem and 102 tomorrow, depending on which weather you watch. So anyhow, we're going to enjoy this nice cool coast over here. So that's it, we had a great time here in Florence. Went to the Mose Friday night and last night we had real foot long hot dogs. Our host here, our RV Club host, had to look all around to find actual foot long hot dogs and find the buns that long. But that's what we had along with all the other side dishes. So it's been a great weekend here with the group and now we'll be heading on up to Eneskon. So that's it from Florence, Oregon. 73 Soil and this is K87WA back to net control. Alright there Roy, we'll definitely take advantage of being on the coast during our heat coming up here and enjoy those hot dogs. We took my dog to the baseball game last night, the first time in 10 years I've taken him. He's more deaf than he used to be. Most of the noise didn't bother him at all but he had a hot dog there at the game and yeah got all kinds of attention and pets. But yeah, nothing beats a good hot dog. My friend at the ferry yesterday had a two foot long corn dog there to eat and he was looking forward to it and just crushed it. So sometimes it's a good hot dog there, calls for you, especially in the summer. So drive safe up there to Neskon and enjoy the beach during this heat. Alright, last on this round is Missy, KC7FMW. Good morning. Good morning Al. It will be a better day for me than it's starting. But you know, it should be. But I'm frustrated at the moment. So it's weekends and weekends around here are not good. I used to complain about them at Escalante, they're better at Escalante. At least they know how to help me. My one CNA is really awesome. She's heating up my breakfast now. So that makes me happy. So all is well. Anyway, I hope you guys are having a great day. I'm just going to be hanging out, doing nothing maybe. Oh, I wrote a, there's a song contest going on in a group I belong to. And the theme of the song contest was what will music be like in 2081. And I looked at the, you know, and I'm going, I want to be 105 by 2081, but what the heck. So I wrote a song, but I haven't done anything with it yet. But I'm going to see if I have enough energy to speak something and just see what happens. I'm not going to, probably won't do anything with it, but I might enter the contest with it. We'll see what happens. I don't know. Anyway, 73, K.C. 7FMW, here comes my breakfast. Back to that. All right there, Missy. Sounds like we had great timing on getting you in there. Enjoy your breakfast and have fun writing that song about the 2081 there. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out. All right, with that, I'm at the bottom of the list here. We're listening to the Worldwide Friendship Net. My name's Gina, your host for the day. Yeah, I was on the computer there on the new computer and it doesn't work. So anyway, top of the morning to you there Larry. Everybody on that show in Las Vegas. And Larry Roy, K87WA had a perfect double with Jim in there. I heard Roy doubling through All Stars. So if you could put him in there I'm sure he'd greatly appreciate that. And hi to Darrell and Art and Bill and everybody coming up. I was up and out, got 43 miles on the bike. Beautiful morning this morning. Absolutely beautiful. It was like 80 degrees. A little humid. It was like 35%. You could feel it, but when you're moving, you know, the sun's not up. So it was really nice. And I got to tell you, the weirdest thing happened to me yesterday. Way back in 2003, 22 years ago, Lance Armstrong got a ride across America for charity. And of course, trying to find him, you know, with security and everything was nearly impossible. Well, I figured out the route he should have taken around here. And I went down to the spot in the desert about 40 miles southwest of here. And I got down there and I ran into a bicycling friend of mine who was on the bike. I was in the car. And anyway, I was waiting and waiting and bada bing. There they come. And we got to see them. And his publicist came out and said, you know, Lance, he's on a tight schedule. He apologizes. He can't come out. And just about then, he popped the door open to the RV. He walked out and walked right up to me and shook my hand. And I was blown away because I was a big fan. But I took a picture. So there were three bicyclists there, you know, not part of their team. And my one friend and two other guys. So we all got in the pictures. Me and Lance Armstrong next to each other and the other bikers around us. And if you've seen any of my recent videos that I've done with the cycling, you know, earlier this year, I hooked up with the owner of a bicycle shop here, Eric. And he runs a bicycle shop called Bike Brain. So if you've seen the last several videos I've done on bicycling, it's Eric and Bike Brain. Well, I didn't know this. I was at the bike shop yesterday chatting with him. And we were talking about Lance Armstrong. And I showed him the picture. And I said, yeah, I got to meet Lance. Check this out. And wouldn't you know, he was one of those riders in that picture. He was like, oh my God, dude, that's me. I mean, what are the odds of something like that? I was like, no freaking way. So yeah, it's just one of those really bizarre and kind of neat coincidences. So we had actually met 22 years ago and didn't know it. So anyway, that's my story. And I'm sticking to it. Thank you Larry Chihuahua's."},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-29T07:48:40+00:00","id":27211,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":27210,"text":" Hey, Martin Roy in the net, the K87WA net control, the worldwide friendship net friends. But, really, don't envy those that have to deal with the 90 and 100 degree weather like we have been over here. So, anyway, another day's up on me here and probably going to get a chance to jam with a little couple of friends today and maybe sit down and see if we can't make a band out of this, you know, see what we can do here. So anyway, I won't keep it too long, but thanks for being here, Roy, and I want to thank everyone else. And Pappy, thanks for the virtual cookies, those virtual Oreos there. And I was trying to share a little virtual coffee with the group here, too. So there you go, a cup of coffee and some cookies for breakfast. Oh, yeah, breakfast of champions. Yeah, I forgot to do that. Yeah. Oh, and Jim, I tell you what, if I was out there in Kettering, Ohio, I'd be more than happy to drive for you. Just kidding. But I'd have to have a long, long cane for that. And I'd have to learn how to use it, learn how to swing it back and forth really fast but stay on the pavement, you know, on the asphalt. But I'd have, you know, I like to try to get people going sometimes, in a good way. Otherwise, we're doing pretty good. I'm just hanging out here in the back porch and just let the hand out and we're just basically listening to the net and I thought, well, yeah, might just come on in now and get my check in underway here. Gonna go and jam us a couple of feet over there, supposed to, and it's gonna be a fairly good day. So, anyway, looking good so far. We got a lot of cloud cover over here, so we got a bit of clouds. So with that, thanks to the net, Roy, thank you all for being here. And my famous parting words are keep coming back and keep up the good work. Let's see I had a whole lot to say but oh yeah today we're not doing wood cutters this morning we're having our annual dinner and we decide where we're gonna you know with the people that can afford to pay for our firewood pay us and we take every bit of that and give it to small charities so that's what we do today we make a decision on who's gonna get get it no big charities like Salvation Army or things like that to get so much money but we try to find small places and so that's what we're doing today we'll hash that out for a couple hours and we usually give to about ten small charities we have about ten thousand to give away this year. So that's going to help some people out. Anyhow, with that, 73's to everybody, back to neck control."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-25T00:03:10+00:00","id":97179,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":97178,"text":"All righty, all right.
