"text": " Boy, this is turning into a full-scale boxing match now. No, not at all. K7PAL, Barry. K7PAL is one of the founders of PSRG. I think you've met him before. No, you have. Of course you have. But anyway, so yeah, and John is working on some meshtastic updates, I believe, with his node, and he and Barry are going back and forth. I guess they're not really talking about much else right now because they're deep in the weeds on meshtastic. Those were my takeaways. Now, my question for you back at Tech Talk here, KV4P, one of your latest projects I know, apparently, ZeroRetries.org, the blog that Steve up in Bellingham puts out, ZeroRetries.org, he says, and I haven't had a chance to read this article in the newest issue, 2.16, but there's a new version, version 2. Are you aware of that, and have you done anything on that yet? KV4P version 2. Back to you, Bill. Yeah, well, thank you, Jack. Yes, actually, ZeroRetries just had an article about it because they just got a hold of it, but actually version 2 has been available for, gosh, a very long time, well over six months, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, I won't go into the technical details, but it's quite an improved version, and I've been using it, and you and I have talked on it and on the net many times. It works great. Version 2 is good. It's not as DIY as the original version because the board is a little more sophisticated. Anyway, it really works well, and there's a new firmware coming out, I think, within a few weeks that I'm looking forward to. Since we've been chatting so long, I'll make my comment very brief. I just wanted to say meshtastic is very interesting. I've been talking to Barry about it, as a matter of fact, but even more interesting to me is the latest and greatest, which is a different, instead of meshtastic, another piece of software and firmware called MeshCore, which runs on most of the same devices. I've been experimenting with it now for a couple of months, and I find it much more robust than meshtastic. It really gets the messages through. This is K7WFP. Back to you, Jack."

"text": " All right, hey great to hear you dad. Thank you so much for coming in Let's go talk to bill and I have a kind of a technical question for him and is one of his projects bill k7 WSB, how are you? I'm very good Jack. I'm interested in your technical question I'm also interested I just turned on the net at the end of the last round you were talking to John and mentioned Barry K7 pal and mesh tastic Could you just tell me what you guys are talking about and what your technical question and then I have another comment back to you"

"text": " Jack, I think they ought to call, instead of calling it meshtastic, it should be meshinsanity. I've crawled down so many rabbit holes on this silly thing. The latest thing is my wife seen in the Amazon purchase history that I ordered a book on C++ programming. She flipped her wig on that one. Jack, you know you're in a weak bargaining position when your best defense is neurological elasticity being the reason why I bought the book. But I don't know, it's crazy. I even made a note for PSRG co-founder Barry K7PAL. We don't even talk about the weather or anything anymore. We just talk about, hey, how's that 18650 battery? Is it running out of juice with your solar nodes? And now he and I are talking about maybe getting a mesh core unit. So like Susan Powder said, Jack, you remember in the 80s in the infomercial, stop the insanity. Everybody have a good shed city summer day. This is W7SEA."
