I was thinking about how sometimes assembling things like that is so much fun, and other times it can really make you want to pull your hair out. Sounds like you had a pretty good one, and yeah, sometimes breakfast really hits the spot, and other times it sounds good the night before, and going home sounds better. Once you get there. Yeah, I'm glad you use your scanning function on a printer. I've had a printer before that had a scanning function, and I think I used it maybe twice. But the idea of scanning things through your accountant is very considerate. In the past when I have had an accountant, I just took pictures of things. I tried very hard to make them legible, but definitely not as considerate as a proper scan. We are going to do some announcements after I let this drop and then we're going to gather around three. Stay tuned for that. This is Repeater Station Kilo-P-07 November, November, October, all star Kilo-16-92. Most of these announcements you can find at PSRG.org. A few of them are borrowed from our PSRG discussion group on Facebook, which Jack sent to me because I'm not a big Facebook user myself. But if you are, go check it out. Alright, so, let's see, coming up this Saturday at 1.30pm, we have our next PSRG educational meeting. That's Saturday, November 8th. It's at 1.30pm. And the Zoom information meeting, I'm not going to read that out, that's crazy. We're going to encourage you to go over to the PSRG website and you can find that. It's already posted, you can put it in your calendar. You won't have to look it up again. It is about operating ham radio in space. So we have satellites, we have ISS, which yes is a satellite, and our presenter is KB8BMY Mike. And if you thought it was too expensive or too complicated or you just haven't gotten around to it, this might be the inspiration that you need. It is not as far out of reach, I mean space is, but, well, you know, but communicating through space is not. And KB8BMY, we'll show you how. Again, that is Saturday, November 8th at 1.30pm. Also happening Saturday, November 8th down here in Tacoma, that's where I live, that's not where the repeater is. From 10am to 2pm here in Tacoma, there is the Radio Club of Tacoma open house. They are an old, old radio club here in the Pacific Northwest, I think the oldest. And they have a home, like an actual house that you can go and visit if you are a member or their guest or a ham or visitor. So it's open to us, it's an open house for all of us. Go check it out, maybe stop by outside the educational meeting that same Saturday. That evening, Saturday, again it's a busy day, on 146.56 we have our SimplexNet. That's 8pm on Saturday, November 8th, up in mostly the Seattle area, 146.560. See who you can hear, who can hear you, we've got some wonderful operators who run that. And it's a fun way to do something off the repeater trail. Alright, well let us drop because the next announcement is a bit longer, and we're going to be back on the repeater trail for that one."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-21T20:35:41+00:00","id":82022,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":82021,"text":"Hey Peter, can you text R.E.X. about your I.O.? I've noticed that when I go outside, I'm more inclined to put on like a hat, and I didn't realize it's almost December, so there you go. Bundle up, it is mid-forties or something out there. And yeah, waking up early. I am not a morning person myself, but I know what you mean, that those days that you get up early, whether it's just sort of a fluke or you have good reason to, it's nice to have a little bit slower pace. I imagine, especially with kids, to be able to sort of enjoy that time a little bit more. So yeah, I definitely encourage it. And I've sort of settled on it's nice to sometimes force myself awake, but other times it's just so miserable that I can't fully commit to being a morning person. So waking up early tomorrow, sleeping in on Saturday, that's the plan. Let's see here. Oh, a mesh core repeater is set up. I have a couple of meshtastic nodes That I was just packing up as I ready for a move and thinking to myself I don't do enough with those these days So maybe I'll spend a little bit of time poking around and see what's involved in switching this mesh course to have something us to Justin thank you very much for checking in it is 930 almost on the dot next up on this list is Amy before I hand it over to Amy I'm going to identify this is k7 ll said my name is Ben. Thanks very much for bearing with us tonight. We are We are, what is it, halfway past the 9 o'clock net, the start of the 9 o'clock net. And keep an eye on IUX, what do you got for us tonight, how are you Amy? This is Repeater Station Kilo Kilo 7, November, Quebec, November, All Star Note 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. Justin gave me the perfect lead in that mesh core, it was exactly what I was going to talk about. I think it was Bill W.F.B., Saturday Night Host was the first person I heard mention Meshcore. And then of course after talking to him, Madeline switched over to Meshcore. For the longest time we have been trying to use Meshtastic. It's just a different firmware, Same technology, different kind of firmware. A bit of a different user experience and actually a bit of a different network kind of philosophy if you will. So yeah, we had been trying to use Meshtastic to span the ridge and throw our messages over the ridge of Beacon Hill to one another. And yeah, Meshtastic just wasn't working. But yeah, I think we went from like a 5% success, reliability and success rate with Mesh Hastic 2. I'd say somewhere in the 90% with Mesh Core. So I'm a big fan of Mesh Core and I've been having a lot of fun with it over the last week, week and a half. I think one of the big differences is that the way that this is set up it encourages people to throw up a bunch of repeaters and the repeater builds the mesh and then you have your companion notes as they call them that you use for messaging and they talk to the repeaters, repeaters send the thing down the line. So I see my map and I'm like I can see, my notes can see notes from like down in Olympia to the south to like Vancouver, BC to the north, stuff on Vancouver Island, and I was going to post a picture of this to the PSRG Facebook group but either this morning or yesterday morning I was downtown and I just I just sent a message out to the public channel I said greetings from sunny downtown Seattle and then somebody responded greetings from somewhere up on Vancouver Island like somewhere north of Nanaimo and I was like holy cats that's amazing that is an amazing relay so yeah I'm a big fan of mesh core that's all I got to say"},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-12-24T03:22:41+00:00","id":93123,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":93122,"text":"alright well maybe I was mistaken trying to get me to call for but maybe I'm incorrect anyway my confusion there everybody was k7 ll said my name is Ben and first on this list is not too far from me k7 PJ people how are you is your basement dry no basement here I think hopefully the crawlspace is doing all right there and I know I did have the the yard is very very soggy. I had to throw down some mulch around some areas that were actually getting really kind of eroded very quickly. So yeah well your basement's doing okay. I just was going to share with you that when you said all right you'll be first.\" I said to Moxie or just to myself, I'm number one. And she laughed real hard so I felt like I had to share it. Yeah, your signal, you sound great and that's because your signal is full quieting into Cougar and Buck, or into Cougar, pretty close to that and a buck. When it comes to Capitol Park where the transmitter is, it's really weak, which is why you're probably struggling to hear things. But because you're coming in on one of the other receivers really well, you're a full copy. No problem at all. Hopefully all is well with you and your new abode. I think you are a bit closer to me here in Tacoma and yeah hopefully we can connect sometime. Gonna have a nice hopefully quiet next couple of weeks. Taking a little bit of time off around the holidays and not a heck of a lot else to report. I just you might have just heard one of my station managers proclaiming pretty loudly that there's nothing or something. He thinks there's something outside, but he's just bolted out of the room as they are wont to do. So that's all I've got. And this is Ben, K7LL said. I am in the hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma. I was before, but every time I've moved, I've had my, I've moved twice now since I got my license almost exactly, oh, dang, almost exactly to the day six years ago. And every time I move, I'm always worried that it's going to get in the way of the ability to host the net or hear from people on PSRG. And so the current situation is, it sounds I can get in okay. It's a little bad receive. I can hear it. I can see the game. It's just a little staticky, you know what I mean? And so I'm going to work on that. But the thing I'm really excited about is no longer is my radio up in the attic. I live on the top floor and my antenna is, and my radio is kind of in an actually accessible area. So hopefully I'll be able to have it going a little bit more. I still have a pretty busy job so I don't know if I'll be able to do as much lurking as I have in the past, you know, years ago. But I'm looking forward to having to be a little bit more present in my sort of wandering around the bedroom type life. So that's about all I got. I got to wake up early in the morning, go on my Friday morning bike ride. It's every other Friday morning, but it's really easy to remember because it aligns with my net hosting schedule. On the other hand, it's tough because that means that I'm almost always busy until a little bit after 10, so waking up at 6 in the morning after that is for me a little bit tough. I'm not a morning person. Anyway, that's my check-in, and I appreciate you humoring me. My bedroom is not completely set up, but it's making some good progress. I think I'm even going to switch this radio and get out my old iCom and have a cool little goopy radio that's a little bit more functional than this UAC mobile that I've been using. Anyway, this is K7LZ. That was my check-in. I'm going to do one more call just to see if there's anybody on deck who might want to get in who hasn't had the chance to be part of the net just yet, or who would like to come back for a recheck. Thank you for making sure it happened. I want to thank the Repuget Sound Repeater Group as well for the use of this repeater. Again, for more information about the group, go head over to psrg.org. That's papaceraromeogolf.org. If you're near a radio at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning, grab yourself a cup of coffee, tea, whatever it is, and stop by the flip side of this net, the Friday 9 a.m. net. I believe That's with Ron and our seven oh, but I forgot to check the calendar before I said that tonight I will be returning to this repeater to normal operation. It's a nice day out there today, not bad at all. Temperature right now is 52 degrees, and I hope this won't be sunny for a while. I was looking up towards Seattle on my weather radar, and there's a big system coming down from Canada. Canadians are setting their weather to us, so they're going for Washington. And it was like rain for a while. Yeah down in L.A. they're getting a ton of rain. I got somebody's rain gate down there and it's filling up pretty quick. It was 80 zero and I was about to point 85 inches of rain. And I got my sea star thing tied. Squirrels run around out there having a great old time, you know, using peanuts and nuts. You know, the whole gang was out there running around. So they're doing their part and I'm doing my part by feeding them and they're pretty happy with that. here. I hope everybody out there has a good night. Thank you very much as always for the queer report. We recently had a squirrel find an acorn in the backyard somewhere and climb up on just exactly the the part of the railing it should be on for the rain camera to get it and sat there and ate that acorn nice and leisurely and then hopped off and so that was a nice little treat to find when figuring out what was the motion in the back door. So I don't know I don't know if you ever get squirrels on camera, but maybe there's a way to set up a little field cam or something like that. 52 and sunny down there. What is it here? It is 45 here in Tacoma, allegedly, according to the screen. And let's see, big system from Canada. I pulled up windy. I see a couple of different systems. But yeah, stay dry, stay comfortable for the time being, and thanks for keeping us posted. That is the end of round one already. It is nine eleven and forty two seconds. Okay, hopefully I'm getting out. I think I heard you say, Sean. So those of you who are listening, I hope I'm not stepping on you. My report is as follows. I've had a good day. It wasn't too bad. It could have been noisier, but you know, I had enough noise of my own going at home that I was doing fine so yeah just thought I'd come in and say hello and I'm doing some snooping and research on my little radio but I still can't get it to go so I'm clearly missing something other than that that's my report kj7exm and I'm turning it back to the net controller and just so you're aware you're getting a little wiped out okay thank you very"},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-23T22:06:11+00:00","id":67443,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":67442,"text":" This is repeater station kilo kilo 7 November Quebec November all star node 6222 located in Shelton Washington."},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-23T21:03:11+00:00","id":67372,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":67371,"text":" Good evening. Those are really nice ways to start to you know, have a little portable container garden Especially, you know bell peppers or tomatoes or things that need to be like a little bit deeper So yeah, I'm glad I'm glad that's working for you. I've never done bell peppers myself but I'm not the world's biggest bell pepper fan. Don't tell anyone I like hot peppers That much I eat them they're great in moderation But you know, anyway, I'm glad yours are doing tremendously I bet you would do a lot more interesting things with them than slice them up and eat them as I do and Thank you so much for giving us a report from out there in the garden in Greenfield, Ohio a real pleasure Sarah.
