OK, we'll put on the breaks there, that's, what do I got, seven actually beat, because Missy wanted to be put on the end of the list, so she very well may put the rips on it. So I've got Gail, Glenn, Roy, Terry, Phil, Honorary Check, Mel, Honorary Check, and Carrie, and Missy. So let's go to the top and see if Gail is there. Kilo ECT from KK7's in the net. I am here and thank you so much for putting me on this, I do appreciate that. Well, it's good to be 89 today, it might rain, we'll have to kind of wait and see. I never, I always had jobs that, my W-2's were actual jobs, not when I was a young person kind of jobs. I've done counseling for blind people, and most of my job was being a vending operator, and the telephone operation for a while, the telephone operation I guess was the weirdest one, because with one of these companies that they did collect calls for prisoners, and man I tell you, those guys gave extensive phone calls. Anyway, I'll have a wonderful day, and we'll probably see you guys all tomorrow. I don't know what your business call on the list, I mean the net, Missy or me, but I'll be there to help one way or the other, K-0 ECT. Thank you there, Gail, glad we got you in there. Yeah, you were making me think, remember, there was a time that you could hit the zero on the phone and get an operator, I don't think that happens anymore. If you had to make any kind of calls and collect calls, yeah, I remember calling cards and all that, there's so many flashbacks with the telephone, so. Anyway, thank you Gail, say hi to Hank for us, and let's go to Gwen, I'm glad you got in there Gwen, K-6 TKR from TK-7's unit. Good morning Joe, and thank you very much, and good morning to everybody else on the net. I think I finally made it back to life, still a little bit nasal, but I feel 100%. I just thought I'd throw a couple of fun things in before I get to the real job, but one of the first as a kid was through BoysLife, I got involved in burpee seeds, I don't know if you remember burpee seeds. I would run around town and try to sell these seeds, and it was mostly people felt sorry for me, so they would buy a few bags of seeds there. Then painted house numbers on curbs, and mowed lawns, so those things were fun. Out of one or two things, which was the first legit job in high school, furniture appliance company, drive truck, bed sets, so we drove it to the house and actually unloaded and installed those parts. The most interesting one is that I was a stock boy at a liquor store there in Ridgecrest, which was a very small town at that time in the middle of the Mojave Desert. The liquor store was owned by a relative of Ray Manzara, who was part of The Doors. It was interesting because every once in a while he would come into the store for whatever reason, I don't know, but The Doors were very popular at that time and that was certainly a lot of fun to experience. And then sort of a side job is I was rhythm guitar player for a band called The Reason Why, and so we played all the county fairs and stuff like that. And actually it was fairly lucrative, I was enough money to actually buy my first car. So anyway, that's all I have for you this morning. This is K6-K-R, back to net. K6-K-R, K7, November, Quebec, November, All Star, Node 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. Well yeah, I sure do remember the Burpee Heats. Yeah, I remember those very well, of course, being on the farm. You know the funny thing about living on the farm is I could kill a plastic plant today. I was just a kid then, I didn't do all the stuff, but I had never been able to grow stuff. And yeah, I certainly mowed lawns and plowed driveways in the snow in the winter. But yeah, working in the stockroom in a liquor store, I might have a problem there because I like my fine wine. So yeah, who knows there. Being in a band would be cool. If I ever had a dream thing, I think I'd love to be in a band. Probably on today's world I think you can make a whole lot, but back in the day I think that would have been really cool and a whole lot of fun. So there you go. Yeah, Rayman's there, yeah. A lot of people forget about The Doors, everybody knows Jim Morrison, but that's one of the bands that a lot of people don't know the rest of the band. So I do know that name. Thank you Glenn, glad we got you in there. And let's go to Roy. This is kind of a rare treat. I know Roy keeps a busy schedule. So K7PPL from KK7. Good morning Roy. Well good morning Joe, I hope I'm doing okay. Because I set my levels and it didn't seem to be the same. So hopefully I got it right this time. Anyway, my first job, yeah I worked at a plant in rural Nebraska that made powdering products. And the other side of the plant they had eggs came in from local farmers all around. And they had machines that separated the oats from the whites and came over to my side of the plant. And we had these big dryers, it was like a big metal box with sprayers on the wall. And it was 147 degrees, if I remember correctly in there. And by the time the spray hit the floor it was dry. And then these augers and so forth got out of the big box. And then it wound up after a series of augers and all sorts of metal things and whatnot. The part where I was, where this big shaker thing would shake all the lumps out of it. All day long man, it was all man. Anyway, my job was to make sure that there was within 4 ounces of the correct weight whether it was a giant 150 pound drum or a tiny 6 pound bag. And those little, I couldn't keep up with the 6 pound bags every so often. But every 10 minutes it would happen to me. That was horrible. That only happens a few times otherwise I think I would have quit. Anyway, I used to wonder a year when I'd open that thing up and this big cloudy yellow dust would come up and get yellow, orange disease. Anyway, back to you. KI-7, PK up. That's funny, that's good. Well you know at least the powdered eggs were actually eggs. Somehow I think if you went to look on a box of powdered eggs today it probably wouldn't have any egg in the ingredients. I'm glad we got you in there and had yourself a great day. Your audio sounds fine, you sound good. Yeah, that 3039 is it on there today? Yeah it's on there, I haven't heard anything from it. We've got a lot of interference popping in the last... ...all my groups of a lot. Is there anything coming through it today? So, I'm glad we got you in there. We've got a lot of interference popping in the last... ...all my groups of a lot. Is there anything coming through it today? So, yeah, I don't know what's up with that. Was it a great day there? Let's go to Mr. Terry 87MR from KI-7's unit."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-05T07:30:46+00:00","id":14280,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14279,"text":" Wow, that is kind of sad about what they're doing because they're part of history and they're a good reminder that things change and that not everything was what it was now from before but oh well. And these people, your videos should be remembered in like K6TKR. Good morning, Glenn. How are you doing today? K0ECK. Hello, good morning, Gail. Everybody else on the net here this morning. Doing fine here. I had a great day, part of the day yesterday out at the hangar and I got the cylinder heads all ready for the students. When they come in they can start the reassembly and get that engine, 100-year-old engine put back together again and it should look really sharp. I just wanted to mention to Joe I really enjoyed your video of this abandoned town in Pennsylvania and these homes as you look at them, as you're touring through them, must have been very fancy back at a time to see these elements of how they were constructed, most of them to story. But really fascinated. I didn't see any graffiti which was very amazing. It did look like a lot of things were left behind and kind of strewn around but it didn't seem like vandalism, holes in the walls and things like that, just a natural deterioration. I was kind of surprised all the ceiling fans were kind of bent downward in just about every shot that you had there. So I'm kind of interested in the owner, I guess the owner walked up and how they became to own that property and what's going to happen with it. It looks like it could be restored but an awful lot of work to do that. But what an interesting video, thank you for that. And I would like to jump in, I have been to four corners and yes there is a kind of a large concrete X in the ground there that has each state labeled and you can stand at the apex of all four of those coming together. So I thought I'd just mention that. So that's it for me today, K60KR, back to that. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. OK, thank you very much, thank you for answering Bill's questions. KB2RQQ, good morning Robert and Hal is copy today. K0Eck. Well thank you for asking, she's doing just fine. Her daughter is, as we speak, under the knife in Charleston. She is having a very rare procedure done which involves inserting a tube through her neck and up to her brain around her temple area. And she's been getting terrible, terrible, terrible headaches and it's all because of a little tumor on one of her nerve cells. So it's an unusual surgery but it's an outpatient surgery of all things. So prayers are appreciated for Heather. Anyway, yeah I've been locked away in an underground bunker for quite a while now. The weather has been, oh let's see, not agreeing very well. It's partly sunny but it's going to be mostly cloudy and thunderstorms today, thunderstorms tomorrow, thunderstorms the next day, thunderstorms every day for the next seven days. And tonight they're predicting 100% chance of darkness. But we'll see what happens. I can't tell inside this bunker. I just have a couple of little light bulbs and every once in a while Kathy puts dinner under the door. It's just me and the dog chained up to the wall. Anyway, I'm not going to get into too much detail but if anybody can find out my location, send the cops immediately. Please. Anyway, this is KB2RQQ. Enough of that humor and it was very little for sure. You take care, Gail and everybody on the Wheelwright Friendship. I had to unlock the computer. It was, uh, it became locked after inactivity there, uh, for a little while. But, uh, it's all done there now. Yeah, good morning to you, man. That was quite the list. Um, I was just, uh, sat back in the chair thinking, uh, when am I gonna come up? Because the bottom is, uh, it's got to be coming close soon. And then there was another couple and another couple. Man, it's like the list didn't end. Yeah, I tried out a new headset this morning. As a matter of fact, I tried it out on the Calibunga net earlier. And, uh, I was given a good audio report from it. It's, uh, technically a gaming headset. But I figured the things that it does good at gaming, uh, audio quality through the noise-canceling mics, and, um, audio quality through the headphones itself, um, were good. Uh, extremely good. As a matter of fact, I was very impressed. I had never put on a headset in my life that sounded as good as this thing does. And, uh, for anybody that's interested in knowing what it is, it's called the SteelSeries. That's the brand name, SteelSeries. And, uh, it's an Arctis Nova 5. An arctis, just spelled A-R-C-P-I-S. It's an Arctis Nova 5 wireless. So, I highly recommend, uh, out to this station for sure. Let me tell you, it's, uh, my favorite headset ever. And that's saying something, because I've got just around my desk alone, there's five headsets. And this thing smokes all of them. Absolutely every one of them, so. If anybody is interested in a good headset for, uh, Echo Link or All Star, or, um, you know, pairing with your phone for listening to music, it's, uh, it's two-mode. It's Bluetooth, but it also comes with this little dongle that enables 2.4 gigahertz, uh, zero-latency mode. So, if you want to use this headset while you're watching a movie, or playing a game, or watching a TV show, there's zero latency, so your audio from your mic will line up perfectly with the, uh, audio from the, you know, your surroundings and stuff, in the game, or in the movie, or whatever. So, um, highly recommend these things. Uh, anybody that's interested in getting a new headset, the mic is excellent on it. Uh, at least as far as I've been told, I'm using it right now, so you can let me know. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 10 in November for the All Star Note 6222. It's, uh, it's retractable, so it's just pushing, it goes right inside the headset, you don't even see it. Uh, which makes it really good, you know, for listening to music and stuff, too, because you don't have this, uh, mic that's in your way. So, other than that, uh, my advertising is done for today. 7-3, everybody have a great day. Uh, we get nice weather here on the Rock. I'm going out on the deck to relax with smoke and, uh, some very loud music. 7-3 from here on the Rock, this is EO1, UKZ. Okay, Darrell, yeah, that sounds interesting. Uh, I may, uh, need to get another headset here myself. Uh, I've got, uh, Turtle Beach, uh, that's what I've been using for quite a while, and the, uh, coating over the, uh, ear pads that are coming off, so, uh, this still works okay. If I can get my, uh, laptop to, uh, work with it, but, uh, anyway, uh, yeah, that sounds kind of interesting. I'll have to check on those, so, uh, thanks a lot for the information. Alrighty, you have a great day, and, uh, we'll talk to you later. I'm going to try, uh, another round here. Uh, please give me a call, uh, slowly and phonetically. Give me a call at least twice so I can get everything written down. My, uh, old pencil hand is, uh, awful slow, so, uh, like me. Anyway, this is DERR, NAC Control with the World Wide Friendship. I'm good. I can breathe. Ha ha ha ha. There you go. Anyway, not a lot going on here today. Wayne was by. We discussed putting some water line in here to help bring the signal into the building here. And since I don't really go out there and take it, I got trees and buildings around me that prevent me from taking my FT818 over the horizon. Ha ha. But it'll catch some of the stuff. Anyway, I'm thinking maybe run that new QRP 100 watt slash 5 watt comfortable and maybe I'll try for that one. See if I can. Since I can't get my other equipment here, and then put it all in my trailer and back the darn trailer in against the fence, you can't get into the back of it without having something to tow it away a little bit. Anyway, so another one of the things going on here. So back to that. Thank you for bringing me in because you can't pick me up. I'll go seven micro-men back to the neck until I have a great radio deal. A-E-7 MR. Okay, Jerry. Well, good luck on that. I had a friend that was in the assistant living and the maintenance man was really handy for him. The maintenance man put an antenna outside up on the, they had a little roof sticking out from the upper part of the building and put an antenna up there for him and ran everything down there to him and I guess that worked out real well. But since then he's been in silent key. But yeah, that probably is hard to get things done like that in those assistant living places. So good luck and I hope you get something working there for you. A-6 T-2-R Glenn is up next. Go ahead, Glenn. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November, Quebec. I was here this morning and first of all thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a really nice day. It started off with a little bit of housework there. I was installing a new kitchen faucet and Murphy was right there with me. He only caused one additional trip to the big box store to pick up some unexpected parts. But other than that it all went fine. I can tell I'm getting older, getting underneath the sink like that in all kinds of contorted positions to get around the pipes and whatnot. But only mildly sore today. But after that the family kicked in and we had a great time, had a really nice dinner. So they really treated me like a king and that was nice. So today, getting ready, we're going to be hosting the Greater Irvine Chamber Business Mixer out at the Restoration Hangar. It's an opportunity to introduce what we're doing out there to all of the business leaders in Orange County here. So that should be a really nice late afternoon, early evening event there. Looking forward to it. So that's it for today. K6TKR back to netting. Okay Glenn, I know all about that. It gets under the canvas or sink and what have you. Oh man, I just had to do that here not too long ago. And I have a heck of a time getting back up. Since I had to need a replace, they don't work like they did before, you know. You don't have that initial push to get up. So you got to grab a hold of something and all that. Like you say, you got to get contorted just to get out of that plumbing. It seems like I can make stuff a lot easier to get at and make it workable so that you can change the parts. Seems like every time you get into plumbing though, you've always got to get something else that you didn't expect to put in. So I know how that is. So after I don't like plumbing at all. Most other stuff I like to do, but plumbing is what I'm crazy about. I got all the stuff to do it with though. So anyway, you have a great day and Glenn, you had a great birthday there. So you take care and you're probably still a young guy though. Anyway, you got KZ7LRS, KZ7CHT, Joyce and Joe are up next. This is Glenn in Irvine, and I guess what I have to report, we had a great evening last night. We had 173 people show up at the restoration hangar. It was the Greater Irvine Chamber was there, they had a business mixer, so it was great to expose everything that we're doing to all of the local businesses in the area. Just kind of a welcome and let people know that we're there. So, it was more people than we had expected, but it worked out pretty well. We have to be careful because this is a working environment, and you can get up and cozy with the aircraft, including the ailerons and rudders that can hit you in the forehead just square, and it's pretty sharp there too. So, we have to be pretty careful with people wandering through the aircraft, but it worked out well. No one was injured, everybody had a great time. So, anyway, today I've got the Education Committee meeting, which is also part of the museum work there, and we're starting to prepare for next year's grade school contest, and so that should be a pretty good morning here. So, with that, Glenn and Irvine K6 TKR, back to net."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-10T07:18:41+00:00","id":15764,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15763,"text":" Yep, I'm not saying no. Yeah, nothing like what's going on here. It's going to be a beautiful day. Guys are going to take my bill for a birthday tonight. They're going to support their birthday dinner for Mom. So there you go, Bill. Other than that, how much else? I'll turn it back to you, Bill, so we can get over to the worldwide friendship. So everybody have a great day and a great week coming up. So, oh yeah, one thing for dear that I've been watching. I'm going to go in and watch a baseball game. Here's a baseball game going on between your brother and Nova Scotia right now and the game from St. John's. So I'm going to go watch that. So with that, back to you, Bill. Have a great day and a great week. Well, Peter, pay sure to wish your mom a happy birthday from all of us here at the Junior Up In Met. And that does draw the Junior Up In to conclusion. Be aware that when we join the worldwide friendship net, it is in process. Wait for their net control operator to call for new check-ins before throwing out your call sign. It makes everything smoother, and it makes them happy, and it makes us happy. But please do stick around and join the worldwide friendship net. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you. Hi, this is N9OFU calling the call up on the net to a close. And I'm going to let Daryl reconnect us to the worldwide friendship net on the Michigan conference. And we'll catch you out here tomorrow morning, bright and early. See you then. Welcome to the Michigan conference number 96170, located in Western Michigan. Hey, Daryl, it's short time, so I'll move you to the top of the list. And Mel, PB7PVW made that route. Hello there with a gale, our short timer, P0ECK. Good morning. Well, good morning, everybody. Just stopping in to say hello. We are in Houston. I'm at a conference. But just wanted to send greetings and hope everybody has a wonderful day. Talk to you all later. K0ECK, back to you. All right there, gale. I hope you get everything out of the conference there. And enjoy your time in Houston. Thanks for taking time out of your day while you're traveling to be with us here on the net. All right, I'll go to the top of the list there with Joe, KK7Z. Good morning there, Joe. Hey, good morning, Adriana. Everybody on the net here on Las Vegas. And I just got back from 45 miles on the bike. It was nice, a little warm. 88 degrees when I left the house. But yeah, it was nice. Nice morning. I learned a little heat. Little bit of wind, not too much. And hi, Darrell. Good morning, Darrell. He just sent me a text. So if you could put Darrell on the list there, V01UKZ. We appreciate that. What else did I get to report? Nothing really. I don't know what I'm going to do today. I'm feeling kind of worn out. I didn't have the fastest ride in the world. Neither was my one a few days ago. You know, I had a couple of weeks there where I was like doing record times by myself. I'm like, what the heck is going on? Every ride I'm going out there, I'm going faster and faster and faster. I don't know, a little struggle today. But hey, you know what? It's not how far you go or how long you ride. It's as long as you ride or do whatever you're doing. So there you go. Anyway, I'm just here in the background. And I'll send it back to you. So Joe, I'll ask you to use KK7Z next minute. All right, there, Joe. Thanks for letting me know about Darryl V01. You can see I've added you to the list here. And yeah, sounds like you had a great bicycle ride, a little bit warm there. But good job on getting out there and doing that. So do you have a good rest of your Sunday there, Joe? And great hearing from you this morning. All right, next on my list, I've got Glenn K6 TKR. Good morning, Glenn. Good morning, Joe. Good morning, Gina. Everybody else on the net. And Gina, it's always nice to be on your debt here on a Sunday morning. I had a great day out at the hangar. Had a full day out there. Couple of things. The hangars are really huge. It housed a C-130 aircraft. And so the kind of the shady side of the hangar was nice and cool. The sunny side of the hangar was blazing hot and humid. And unfortunately, that's where our Jenny Assembly shop is. And yeah, it was just a kind of a sweaty, hot, hot day. So I pulled in some large fans so that the students just wouldn't melt away while they were working. And that helped quite a bit. But they got a lot done. And we had about 20 new students that came in that are replacing those that graduated. So they were getting all familiar with the process and getting to know their teams and work with them. They fit right in. It was just absolutely perfect. So anyway, today is going to be a bit more relaxing. We're going to head off to church here in a couple hours. And then usually on Sunday, we'll find a place to grab a quick lunch together as a family and make a nice day of it. So with that, Glenn and Irvine, K6TKR back in there. This is repeater station kilo kilo. I'm sure those students appreciated having to leave those fans in there. It's so good at summertime a bit roasting in those giant hangers. So at least they've got a space to work on their projects and undercover there. But yeah, the heat can be a problem. We were at the county fair yesterday. And they had the huge mobile fans in all the animal barns. And some of them had misters and moistures, things built into them. So they're a little cooler than a regular fan. But yeah, summertime and then having to work in the heat inside of a closed building. So I'm sure again, your students appreciated that. And you got a new round of excited kids there to help out on the project. So good job there, Glenn. Enjoy your Sunday. And thanks for taking time to be with us today. All right, next on the list I've got Rosie and Glenn, VE4YYL and VE4GWN. Good morning. Kilo, Dada, 7G, Z, this is Victor, Akafoya, and Lima. Good morning, Gina. And good morning to the lovebirds. And but out there and oh, but that's for sure. If you could have won one on that one, that would have been a nice party. That's for sure. Wow. $30,000. Yeah. I would love that too. Hey, we could have gotten to get together. That's for sure. So we would have had a big party. Oh, wow. Yeah. However, it didn't happen. So oh, well, maybe one day. You never know. And that's just right, 87WA here in Nesco, Oregon. That's 58 degrees. Going to get up to about 70. So glad to be over here on the coast, because I think Salem is going to have its third day or over 100 degrees today. So not missing that heat, that's for sure. And speaking of bunnies, this RV park we stay in, many years ago it used to be called the Bunny RV Park because there was just hundreds of bunnies around here. And there's still a lot, but a few years ago there was a couple of cougar, or bobcats, bobcat family here on the hill behind the RV park. And they eliminated a lot of the rabbits, but now they're coming back again. I think the Fish and Game Department came there and removed the bobcats. So they were worried about it and also taking care of our little puppy dogs, so they got the bobcats out of here. So we got two weeks we're going to enjoy here. We do have to go back to Salem tomorrow soon as a doctor's appointment. Maybe I'll pick some of my vegetables out of my garden and bring them back. And today I think we're just going to go visit a couple of those really, really small towns around here and wander through some shops and stuff like that. So that's it. What's going on here in Neskon, Oregon? 73s to everybody. This is KD 7WA. I'm back in that control. Can I come over instead of being light up in this great place? I would love to be in 70 degree weather. Oh, man. I'm so jealous. Just saying. So, so jealous. I'm so tired of being light up. You guys have no idea. So anyway. All right. Well, you guys have a wonderful day. And we will probably talk to you tomorrow. And now I'm at the bottom of my list. And I'm ready for some more check-ins. We've got Kilo Delta Eight Romeo Echo Romeo, Larry and Jenray, good morning. We've got the talker, K6PKR. You like what I did with that? Glenn in Irvine, California. A.E.7, more reading news than Mr. Terry is in the house. Good morning to you, sir. Fred was there, I don't know if he was in and out, but I'll call on him. KK22HO, good morning to you, sir. And KI7PKR, Roy, N0HC, Clifton, Joe, the Lutbirds were there. And Roy, I was wondering, since you're into astronomy, but it's your turn, maybe you can let us know what's going on with the sunspots and coronal mass ejections, because, oh, and whether it has anything to do with the earthquakes. Maybe that's a good subject for you. Anyway, Larry from KI7PKR, good morning to you, sir. Victor, Echo 4, Jen, was in there too, and what was in there? Don't forget us. I don't know if I'm going to get in or not. I'm getting kind of frustrated here. They're trying to get in several different times. I couldn't get my computer to transmit. And naturally, I don't have anything in RF to back it up because we don't have any internet at all that are safe for the review. So anyway, yesterday was the most terrible day, I'll tell you. I was out mixing concrete to try to alleviate some water between my house and a shelter I got out back, because it runs downhill and would get about three or four inches of water there and eventually get in the basement. So I mixed up about six minutes of concrete over the period of yesterday afternoon and evening, and watched the weather and everything, and they didn't say anything about maybe some showers or something later on. But I went out there and then was going to pull up some of the forms so I could do the rest of it, and it started sprinkling rain. So I put some parts over it, but we had some much rain. I got three inches in my rain gauge out front, and it was coming in everywhere in the house. And I went and looked down in my basement, and there was water about an inch on my floor. And just on and on and on. And very disgusted with all that. So I happened to go out to see whether that water ruined my concrete or not. I'm almost afraid to look. But that's way too hot to mix that stuff to start with, and all that work going down the drain is irritating. So with that, back to you Robert. I see you've got some hurricane weather coming in around you, so I hope you don't have that kind of stuff either. So with that, thank you Robert. I'm going to call for a second. Well I am so sorry for your frustration my friend. I could only imagine what you're talking through. And yeah, take a couple of deep breaths, and you know what they say, this too will pass. But an inch on the floor, that's never good. That's never good. Man oh man. And six bags of concrete, right? Hopefully that's not a watery mess. And hopefully it's not all replaced. But you know, it's only water, so hopefully it didn't spread everywhere. But if it stayed where it's supposed to, it'll eventually dry up. Hopefully. Now you take care. And we're going to move down this busy list to K6TKR, the talker. I don't know where I came up with that demonic. And it really does exist. You're a talker, but you don't over talk. Here, I'm going to get myself in trouble. Dig myself a hole, right? Anyway, what do they say? That brevity is a solid, solid wood. And I'm going to shut up here and welcome in Glenn from Irvine, California. Good morning Glenn. Good morning Robert, everybody else on the net. Well it's always a pleasure Robert, no matter what my name is. But generally I don't have a lot to say. It's just the way it's been through life. But anyway, I'll take whatever I get here. Just enjoy being on your net here. Well yesterday was pretty much a yard work day. Fortunately we had a lot of overcast. But as soon as that broke, which was about 2 o'clock, it just got hot and humid. I had to call it a day and take it all inside. And so you know we sit around in the heat. And my son said, well let's go down to Dave and Buster's. And so we went down and played a bunch of the games that they have there and just had a ball. So that was kind of nice because he's getting ready to head back to college here real quick. So today, I'm going to have another home day. I'm putting in some soft clothes, hinges on my wife's kitchen doors. And I started that earlier but it's a lot of laying on the floor and kind of bending at 90 degrees. It's a lot like plumbing, getting in there and replacing those hinges. So I took a break. And so I'll get back at it today and hopefully I can get that project finished. We'll see what happens. But anyway, that's all we have here from the doctor in Irvine, K-60, K-R, back to net. This is Chris from the Old Kilo Church. Oh, I'm glad you got us here. Especially with putting in those soft clothes hinges. Man, I've got those on my kitchen cabinets and the drawers, all the drawers. And it just makes life so much easier. And I have those on the toilet seats as well. But not in cabinets. But anyway, sometimes I talk too much. It reminds me of a song. You talk too much. No, never mind. You show them off, Mr. Terry gives up the next good morning to you, sir. JB2RQ, I don't hear about the Echo 7, Mark Romeo. The water sponges I heard about in your undisclosed location must have gone on last over there. I heard they're all under the other nest. I'm not going to go anywhere. Enjoying my new project with those dark raging ghosts where they blow up and work with the circulation. Enjoying that stuff by me from the VA. Probably waiting until Friday to put it back in the queue again so maybe I don't have to call for much. I don't know. Looks like we've got sunshine coming in. Let's see if there's a window behind. I'm having a hard time. I'm having a hard time. I'll give it back to Mark so I can get on with it. I'll have the Echo 7, Mark Romeo, back to JB2RQ. You're good on you. All right. Well, good morning to you, Terry. And make sure those vibrating boots. The water spout. I saw a video about it was unbelievable. It was a little water spout but people didn't notice it as they were at the surf. But it was really funny because the spout was invisible almost. It washed ashore and blew all kinds of stuff away. People were shocked by what they saw. They had umbrellas flying down the beach and all kinds of stuff. And yeah, hurricanes or tornadoes can blow over the water spouts. We've got hurricanes coming this way. That's what you have. That's what you live with when you live in paradise. So anyway, I thought this was enough from me. Let's see if Fred had anything to say. I know he was... I think he was in and out but let's check him out. Always a pleasure to be on your net there. Yeah, please post those. I'd love to see that sunset. I can't remember if you said it was sunset or sunrise. At any rate, it's probably absolutely fantastic. I would love to see it. Well anyway, we're at 72 degrees right now and headed to 88. It will probably be a bit above that. It's been really humid. We've got some kind of monsoon stuff going on here. Lots of thunderclouds in the hills nearby. But yeah, today all the students are coming out. Every team is coming out to the hangar. So I've got one foot out the door. Get over there and get to work with them. But in terms of broken bones, the only one that I ever had is we had this thing as kids where your buddy would lay on his back. You'd sit on his feet that were up in the air. And then he would springboard you up into the air and hopefully you would land on an inner tube that was not too far away. And he was a pretty big fella. So I missed the inner tube and had my hands behind me and ended up breaking a wrist. And what's interesting about that is my brother broke his wrist exactly the same way. So I guess the two brothers don't learn things too quickly. But anyway, in terms of other injuries, I have really been blessed. I've come right up to the edge of what could have been something very, very serious and just missed it. And some of those I think back are kind of chilling. But I've just been one lucky fellow that way and not gone over the edge. So with that I better get myself going here. This is K6-TKR. Well, thank you for that nice clean mic. I feel so clean. Anyway, yeah, we had a question in the chat from KK7G. Maybe you can respond to him there, what style you were active in. Oh, there you go. See any real, okay, I hope I'm saying that right. Anyway, yeah, you know, all of that sounds good. And that's what I'm talking about. Like it's not about necessarily being an ambitious apps leader or anything, but, you know, just doing the walk instead of the drive, right? Getting a few steps in, saving the gas, and doing the things that keep you active and keeping your mind going, so that sounds really good, all of that. So thank you so much for sharing your routines and picturing that backyard with the weed whacker. So it sounds like a good way of approaching it. It sounds like I'm over-coding that stuff. So, all right, well, hey, thank you for sharing. And you have a great rest of your day. Now we're going to stay on the West Coast, but we're going to zoom down from Washington down to, why do I, why don't I have this information on here? I have it all the time. Anyway, K6TK Irvine, that's it. Irvine, California. Next, to pick up Glenn, K6TKR, your turn to mic. This is Glenn. Good morning, Barbara, everybody else on the net here this morning. Well, we had quite a day yesterday. We had kind of a monsoon come through and scattered thunderstorms here and there. Actually started a fire up in one of our canyons here, but it got handled pretty quickly. But, oh, it was humid and just, it didn't rain enough though, but it sure looked like it was trying hard. But anyway, to the question of the day, you know, I, just about every day, not every, but maybe five to six days a week, I get out and do a, I call it a hike, because we're in kind of a hilly area. We've got some fairly low hills and then we've got some fairly high hills. And I can kind of choose how I'm feeling and how I want to do those. But, so I really call it more of a hike. It's about three and a half miles and, you know, it takes me, oh, 45 minutes or so to get through that, so I'm going at a pretty good pace. And so that keeps all the joints working. And then for the brain cells, I just love projects. And just like any project I jumped into, has a bunch of problem solving to it. So it's not always a straightforward kind of thing to do, but there's some issues that have to be worked out in order to have a successful end to it. So that keeps the brain working. It might be on the computer doing photo processing or, you know, there's other kinds of hardware type projects. And of course there's building a biplane right now, which went really well yesterday. The students were just phenomenal. I think they've just about got the engine back together again. The stand is being rebuilt, redesigned and rebuilt. It's going to be a beautiful stand. It has to have kind of an infrastructure on the front because we're adding on to it an 80 pound brass radiator and also a propeller. So we've got to have supports for that out there. But that's their next part is to get that designed and welded and then powder coated. So anyway, that's what we're doing. I think today's kind of a late back day. We'll see what happens. So with that K6 TKR back to net."},{"callsign_confidence":1.0,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-17T07:03:51+00:00","id":17763,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":17762,"text":" All right, I think our worldwide friendship nation out there is still waking up, but I copied K5EWH, N7RHV, and K6TKR for our first round here, so we'll go there with Bud.
