I might watch occasional video but I usually wait until after the next so I don't open up any other programs except for maybe a website. But nothing with audio because that will cut things down. And I gotta call my chiropractor's office and get an earlier appointment tomorrow so that I'm not rushed for time tomorrow night and dinner time. I gotta go to the south side for my audition with this band. And after 7, well after 7.30, quarter to 8, there we go. Anyway, hey I got a question for somebody out there. The four corners where there's four states meet all in one spot, is there anything there that's kind of a marker or a recognition of it where you can step into four states all within say 10 feet of each other kind of thing? And these people, your videos should be remembered in like K6TKR. Good morning, Glenn. How are you doing today? K0ECK. Hello, good morning, Gail. Everybody else on the net here this morning. Doing fine here. I had a great day, part of the day yesterday out at the hangar and I got the cylinder heads all ready for the students. When they come in they can start the reassembly and get that engine, 100-year-old engine put back together again and it should look really sharp. I just wanted to mention to Joe I really enjoyed your video of this abandoned town in Pennsylvania and these homes as you look at them, as you're touring through them, must have been very fancy back at a time to see these elements of how they were constructed, most of them to story. But really fascinated. I didn't see any graffiti which was very amazing. It did look like a lot of things were left behind and kind of strewn around but it didn't seem like vandalism, holes in the walls and things like that, just a natural deterioration. I was kind of surprised all the ceiling fans were kind of bent downward in just about every shot that you had there. So I'm kind of interested in the owner, I guess the owner walked up and how they became to own that property and what's going to happen with it. It looks like it could be restored but an awful lot of work to do that. But what an interesting video, thank you for that. And I would like to jump in, I have been to four corners and yes there is a kind of a large concrete X in the ground there that has each state labeled and you can stand at the apex of all four of those coming together. So I thought I'd just mention that. So that's it for me today, K60KR, back to that. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November Quebec November. OK, thank you very much, thank you for answering Bill's questions. KB2RQQ, good morning Robert and Hal is copy today. K0Eck. Well thank you for asking, she's doing just fine. Her daughter is, as we speak, under the knife in Charleston. She is having a very rare procedure done which involves inserting a tube through her neck and up to her brain around her temple area. And she's been getting terrible, terrible, terrible headaches and it's all because of a little tumor on one of her nerve cells. So it's an unusual surgery but it's an outpatient surgery of all things. So prayers are appreciated for Heather. Anyway, yeah I've been locked away in an underground bunker for quite a while now. The weather has been, oh let's see, not agreeing very well. It's partly sunny but it's going to be mostly cloudy and thunderstorms today, thunderstorms tomorrow, thunderstorms the next day, thunderstorms every day for the next seven days. And tonight they're predicting 100% chance of darkness. But we'll see what happens. I can't tell inside this bunker. I just have a couple of little light bulbs and every once in a while Kathy puts dinner under the door. It's just me and the dog chained up to the wall. Anyway, I'm not going to get into too much detail but if anybody can find out my location, send the cops immediately. Please. Anyway, this is KB2RQQ. Enough of that humor and it was very little for sure. You take care, Gail and everybody on the Wheelwright Friendship. It makes everything smoother, and it makes them happy, and it makes us happy. But please do stick around and join the worldwide friendship net. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you. Hi, this is N9OFU calling the call up on the net to a close. And I'm going to let Daryl reconnect us to the worldwide friendship net on the Michigan conference. And we'll catch you out here tomorrow morning, bright and early. See you then. Welcome to the Michigan conference number 96170, located in Western Michigan. Hey, Daryl, it's short time, so I'll move you to the top of the list. And Mel, PB7PVW made that route. Hello there with a gale, our short timer, P0ECK. Good morning. Well, good morning, everybody. Just stopping in to say hello. We are in Houston. I'm at a conference. But just wanted to send greetings and hope everybody has a wonderful day. Talk to you all later. K0ECK, back to you. All right there, gale. I hope you get everything out of the conference there. And enjoy your time in Houston. Thanks for taking time out of your day while you're traveling to be with us here on the net. All right, I'll go to the top of the list there with Joe, KK7Z. Good morning there, Joe. Hey, good morning, Adriana. Everybody on the net here on Las Vegas. And I just got back from 45 miles on the bike. It was nice, a little warm. 88 degrees when I left the house. But yeah, it was nice. Nice morning. I learned a little heat. Little bit of wind, not too much. And hi, Darrell. Good morning, Darrell. He just sent me a text. So if you could put Darrell on the list there, V01UKZ. We appreciate that. What else did I get to report? Nothing really. I don't know what I'm going to do today. I'm feeling kind of worn out. I didn't have the fastest ride in the world. Neither was my one a few days ago. You know, I had a couple of weeks there where I was like doing record times by myself. I'm like, what the heck is going on? Every ride I'm going out there, I'm going faster and faster and faster. I don't know, a little struggle today. But hey, you know what? It's not how far you go or how long you ride. It's as long as you ride or do whatever you're doing. So there you go. Anyway, I'm just here in the background. And I'll send it back to you. So Joe, I'll ask you to use KK7Z next minute. All right, there, Joe. Thanks for letting me know about Darryl V01. You can see I've added you to the list here. And yeah, sounds like you had a great bicycle ride, a little bit warm there. But good job on getting out there and doing that. So do you have a good rest of your Sunday there, Joe? And great hearing from you this morning. All right, next on my list, I've got Glenn K6 TKR. Good morning, Glenn. Good morning, Joe. Good morning, Gina. Everybody else on the net. And Gina, it's always nice to be on your debt here on a Sunday morning. I had a great day out at the hangar. Had a full day out there. Couple of things. The hangars are really huge. It housed a C-130 aircraft. And so the kind of the shady side of the hangar was nice and cool. The sunny side of the hangar was blazing hot and humid. And unfortunately, that's where our Jenny Assembly shop is. And yeah, it was just a kind of a sweaty, hot, hot day. So I pulled in some large fans so that the students just wouldn't melt away while they were working. And that helped quite a bit. But they got a lot done. And we had about 20 new students that came in that are replacing those that graduated. So they were getting all familiar with the process and getting to know their teams and work with them. They fit right in. It was just absolutely perfect. So anyway, today is going to be a bit more relaxing. We're going to head off to church here in a couple hours. And then usually on Sunday, we'll find a place to grab a quick lunch together as a family and make a nice day of it. So with that, Glenn and Irvine, K6TKR back in there. This is repeater station kilo kilo. I'm sure those students appreciated having to leave those fans in there. It's so good at summertime a bit roasting in those giant hangers. So at least they've got a space to work on their projects and undercover there. But yeah, the heat can be a problem. We were at the county fair yesterday. And they had the huge mobile fans in all the animal barns. And some of them had misters and moistures, things built into them. So they're a little cooler than a regular fan. But yeah, summertime and then having to work in the heat inside of a closed building. So I'm sure again, your students appreciated that. And you got a new round of excited kids there to help out on the project. So good job there, Glenn. Enjoy your Sunday. And thanks for taking time to be with us today. All right, next on the list I've got Rosie and Glenn, VE4YYL and VE4GWN. Good morning. Kilo, Dada, 7G, Z, this is Victor, Akafoya, and Lima. Good morning, Gina. And good morning to the lovebirds. And but out there and oh, but that's for sure. If you could have won one on that one, that would have been a nice party. That's for sure. Wow. $30,000. Yeah. I would love that too. Hey, we could have gotten to get together. That's for sure. So we would have had a big party. Oh, wow. Yeah. However, it didn't happen. So oh, well, maybe one day. You never know. And hello to everyone else on the frequency. So not too much that. And I will pass the mic over to my lovely husband. Bye."},{"callsign_confidence":0.99,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-11T21:30:54+00:00","id":16273,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16272,"text":" Are you done, Gail? Sorry about that. K0ECK. Alright. Yeah, that's my cue to reply. So, uh, well, I'm sorry about your cat. I've had dogs and pets and cats that needed to be euthanized. Anyway, but, um, uh, I'll just stop there. Take care, Gail. Sean, uh, KJ70XM, I didn't see you at the Rain or Shine Net. Sorry that you didn't make it. Um, but, uh, please give us your report. 33. Well, that is definitely true. I did not make it, but you know what? There will be other events and I will be there. Um, my report is as follows. It's quite warm and somehow, uh, boy, that's a first. And one of my battery-operated lights turned on. That's kind of interesting. I've never seen it do that before. Um, let's see, what else? Oh, yes, my silence on the radio was quite, um, interesting. That's because I gave myself a little break to get something to take care of and, um, yeah, uh, some, uh, other individuals kept dinging me quite often. So I had to take care of that. And otherwise, doing fine. Oh, now it turned itself off. Hey, that's interesting. You know, folks, when you have a light that does its own thing, don't be surprised. It comes with the territory. Um, as do critters. Hold on a second. As do critters, yes. Even I had a partner at one time with four legs and a waggy tail and I appreciated that dog a lot. But, you know, she's in a good place. As all our critters, for anyone who had one, uh, don't worry. They're always going to be a part of you no matter what. So they're never all that really far away. But, um, you know, they give us such joy having them and that's the big difference is they gave you all that wonderful love back for you and me. And so, you know, taking care of them in return, so in a way, you both win. But the main thing is, they will always be in your heart. That's what counts. As to me, wow, can't wait to get a new partner soon. So, I don't know when that'll be, but it'll be soon. Otherwise, this is a PGA 7 EXM at a light with its own sense of humor. Here, I'll get back to that. This is repeater station kilo kilo 7 November Quebec November. Well, Sean, this is not what you reported about, but, um, as you were giving your report, through most of it, two fire engines went by. Command Conard and Ambulance all went by with all the sirens blaring. And you didn't even hear a peep because I wasn't transmitting. Oh well. Well, maybe if we have any topic here, pets, um, euthanizing pets. Um, I just read, um, a little piece online. You see the kind of thing that's, it's little essays that you find now and online. And they're like top heads, but from nobody you ever heard of. But this one was from a veterinarian. And, uh, on this topic, so, take care, Sean. Uh, and so far out of eight operators, folks, four of us are YLs, so there you go. We had an IO from Jaron and that brings us to James in Detroit, Michigan. W8WW Whiskey 8 Whiskey Whiskey. James, please give us your report. Good evening, W8WW here outside Detroit. Good evening, everyone. Um, I have lost pets, um, over the last couple of years currently. We have three dogs and, um, they have all replaced over the years, uh, almost like bandages. But, uh, the unconditional love. I have a cocker spaniel who's a bit grumpy. He's got what's called resource guarding and, uh, we can have issues with him here and there. Um, the thing is, is that, uh, tonight I was on the roof again and, uh, the fire engine went by and my, uh, Charlie and the cocker spaniel started howling. What does that mean, fire engines? So, today I purchased 800 feet of 12 gauge two strand copper wire and I'm running that down to my, from my, uh, arrester down to a grounding rod. Um, while removing one of the PL-259 from the lightning arrester, uh, the PL-259 broke off the center conductor. So, I moved that over to the temporary other cable and, uh, I'm getting, uh, anywhere from, uh, 1.1 to 1.4 on the dual bands. So, I'm quite happy there. Um, I have about 30 feet of antenna wire that, uh, I'm gonna run. Accidentally put a hole in my drywall with my bed. Um, the, uh, adjustable bed frame got shoved back in the wall and fractured the, put a nice sized hole in the, uh, in the drywall. And the good thing is that this is on a, uh, outside wall. I'm gonna use that to put some vocab connectors and connect, uh, everything, uh, right outside that rather than going through my attic. But, uh, that's about it for you. Back to neck control, W8WW here outside Detroit. Well, fine business, James. Too bad that, uh, the PL-259 broke off of the center conductor. Um, and, um, of course, like every ham operator out there, I have VODHF connectors on everything, PL-259s, SO-239s. And, uh, but for my own purposes, I've been using end connectors, uh, or BNCs. But, um, and I used to, long ago, solder PL-259s on, uh, the correct way. But I haven't done that in years. I've now, I've now edged more into, um, the appliance and category when it comes to, uh, putting RF connectors on cables. Like I'll just buy a cable that, that has them already pre-installed. Uh, I could still do it, but I haven't really had a need to do it. So, anyway, take care, James. And, uh, thank you for checking in and I'll catch you down the log next week. Last on this first round is our friend Jeff, AB6-FE, in, uh, Union City or Onion City. Is that what you sometimes call it? Uh, which is just a couple of miles from the San Francisco Bay. Uh, Jeff, uh, this is KF2CW asking for you. Okay, thank you very much, uh, Joan, and, uh, thank you for doing the net tonight. Um, yeah, yeah, it's funny with, uh, getting animals, I guess it's kind of, uh, something we chat about here right now, and, uh, which is good. Um, I remember we got these two cats, and they're the gray cats, and, and I called one my main cat and the other one my backup cat. And, lo and behold, what happened was the main cat went and that wasn't his name, it was Smokey. And then the backup cat, uh, Pepper, he, he went later on. And, and still very painful, and I cried. And then I had, uh, after those two cats, we were out with my youngest daughter's birthday, when she was five, and we went by a, uh, a pet rescue place in the mall. And I, and, uh, and one of us said, hey, let's go and look in the cats. And I said, yep, but we're not going to get a cat. And, okay, uh, we went in there and walked out with a big white cat. And he was with us for quite a while. He was definitely the, uh, the top cat in the house, you know. He was, we had other cats, but he was definitely the one in charge. And, uh, so anyway, I, I'm thankful, and I just wore no more pets, and that didn't last very long. But I have good fond memories of that day. But like I said, we said, oh no, we're not going to get him, no cats, we're not going to take cat home. That didn't last very long. Uh, anyway, uh, yeah, I just got out the, uh, DMR net, uh, for the poppa system. And we had a really good, you know, in-depth discussion on, uh, DMR radios. And, uh, you know, when I first got a DMR a few years ago, they sort of really muffled to me. And now they, they don't. And I, I know it's not, I, the reason the, the, uh, audio's gotten better, I think, maybe, with, uh, the different, uh, systems. But I don't know, but it's funny. I was talking about that on the net tonight, how DMR usually sounds kind of muffled, but it doesn't do that to me anymore. Rarely, I have heard it sound that way. Uh, yeah, here in the Bay Area, we were in about, uh, about 80 degrees today, at nights and sunny. And, uh, you know, just working on some stuff I've got here. And, uh, and, and I started watching the baseball game and changed the channel on that one. That was annoying. Uh, anyway, uh, so, that's about it. Uh, I can't think of anything else. I'm sure I'm gonna miss something. But, uh, back to you, Joe. Keep up the good work, AB6MB. This is repeater station kilo, kilo seven. Well, thank you for that, Jeff. And, uh, yes. You know, my comment I want to make, I've been wanting to make in the last two or three reports of, uh, euthanizing beloved pets is, uh, I'm in the, uh, in the school of, uh, or in the camp of, of, uh, that you should always be with them and holding them as they go under. Uh, because that's the thing that they need. The last thing they need is to know that they're an abysm of, that they're, they're human. And, uh, um, that's all I'll say on that. I wrote a bunch of stuff down. When you say main cat, it always makes me think of main coon cats. I've never met one in person, but I have seen photographs of them and I think that'd be really cool to live in the same household as one of those. Um, I'm sure that any other cats in the household are not happy with that. I read one story, one essay about someone who had, uh, a cat that they, they actually didn't want. And, uh, I don't know if I can, it would take too long to do the setup for the story, but they basically got a main coon cat. And when the main coon cat appeared, their existing cat was so alarmed that it left. It disappeared, never to return. And, uh, I'll just stop there. Otherwise the story telling gets too long. Take care, Jeff. And, uh, I hope you enjoyed the feeds. I haven't seen any of the feeds that Jack, or, you know, Jack seemed to be doing some video as he often does. I haven't seen any of that. I saw, um, I watched, uh, Madeline's, uh, live stream before I, I, uh, showed up there."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-12T08:01:43+00:00","id":16405,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":16404,"text":" Thank you for checking in. You are pretty scratchy, but that's okay. We got your check in. So thank you very much. K-E-4-O-L-G. K-E-4-O-L-G. K-0-E-C-K. What's going on with you tonight? Hey, we're having a pretty good day starting out here in Birmingham, Alabama. Not a lot going on. My wife had trouble with her sciatic nerve. She ended up in the emergency room last weekend. It was so bad, but things are looking like we're finally turning the corner, so we're very grateful. She's been unable to walk, so it's getting me pretty busy. I thought I needed to get her a little bell to ring. But anyhow, just wanted to check in with you guys. Everybody have a great day from K-E-4-O-L-G. Well, thank you very much for checking in. And what a fantastic sciatica. I have been there. I'm going to draw a line there. So back to the top, D3Oe, Rich, please give us your report, Rich. Good evening, dearie, your voice, as always. And well, I was kind of lazy this evening making a crazy antenna. However, I have one appropriate for this evening that you will recognize because you've seen it before, but it's quite some time ago. And it's still hanging here in the house and it still is working well. It's the Joe antenna. And I did post pictures of it. So anyway, I just couldn't resend it all over again. Back to you, D3Oe. This is repeater station kilo, kilo seven, November. Rich, did you post a picture of it to me in, say, with the squirrels or to me in Messenger? Of course I can do that. I already posted to the Facebook page on TSRG. Go ahead. Okay, Rich, yeah, I'm not logged into Facebook. I mean, I could later. Oh, there you are. Okay, I found your Messenger chat. I wish that they would just know the stations, the individuals that I am, that I am a person. They would just know the stations, the individuals that I am connecting with more often than others. I'd keep them on the top. Instead, it pushes things mindlessly toward the bottom. So I find Jack. I actually had to search his name, even just from last week. And other things that I don't engage in. You know, it goes according to who's posting and it's not who I'm responding to. Anyways, thank you for that, Rich. I'm going to take a look at that again. Take care, Rich. And it was really great hanging out with you at the Rainier Shine Net at Green Lake. Next on the list is Ann, KE9EHV33Ann. And this is Joe asking for your report. Hello, good evening, Joe. Let's see, off of the line here, I'm getting ready for WILCON. I'm almost ready to go. It's this costuming thing. I used to win haul costume awards and so I kind of like to continue to do haul costumes. And this means that I carry a lot of stuff, la la la la la. Anyway, so I'm almost done getting ready. I'll finish stuffing my suitcase tomorrow. And I've clearly had the Christmas Carol list, I think. Except for one carol that I made. I'm vacillating between Poom, Poom, Poom and Masters in this haul for the last D Minor Christmas Carol. And that will give me one secular piece per set. So there are three sets, 12 in each set. And in the first set, the secular one that's on Dante in C, Opus 31, number 6 by Fernando Thor. And in the second set, it's J.C. Joy of Ant's Desiring. And in the third set, it's Wayfaring Stranger. So that gives a non-seasonal one in each of the sets. And I kind of like that. And I've also got secular carols in there as well. So when I get back from the convention, it's time to dig into recording all of these. They've been polished to a fairly well. So one can hope that I can get that done and get it mastered and get it all put together. And that would be fantastic. I'm going to speak on home recording at the convention. That ought to be fun. Piles of laundry make remarkable sound dampeners and aborbers. It's great. It saves you the money from having to build a studio. Anyway, that's all that I have for tonight. Let's get what Worldcon is like when I get back. I don't have a political link on my phone, so I won't be checking in from there. Anyway, KXGCW, I'm going to at 733388. Thanks, Joe, for hosting. Thanks to all of you for listening. I love you all. This is KA9, EHB, best of luck. Day 2, Joy of Man's Desiring. I have it fleeing in my head. I'll try to sing it on the air. But, yeah, that's one of my favorites. And I've played it a couple of times for special church services and also a couple of times at two different funerals. One was actually a paid gig. Imagine that. And not one flute. It's the instrument that I will play that on. In fact, the flute is what I usually do in my Christmas sets. Or did. See, I haven't been doing this since I've been in Seattle. This is all back in Michigan. Anyway, take care, Ann. And I'm glad to hear from you. And I will get you to move on. Next is another YL from Kyle, Texas. I'm going to put the 33 in my status column. K0ECK, Gail. Please give us your report. Well, hello, gentlemen, everybody. Just wanted to say hello. We went out to lunch with our son-in-law today. And we were finding cremation arrangements for our cat because he passed last Thursday. We know how it is.
