We're 12 miles northeast of the capital city of Cardiff in South Wales here in the UK. Just about 12 miles up the coast, actually, at the South Wales coast from Cardiff. So if you know where Cardiff is, we're just to the right of that on a map. Yes, it's turkey sandwiches and it depends how big the turkey I suppose was but you can go for a long, long time and then you get sick of turkey sandwiches and then you just wait a year for have some more. Come next Thanksgiving Day and Robert, VK2DY, I'll see you on the blue screen on that log or I'll have you go to the bottom of the list there my friend so You're enjoying your glass of wine. That's Dave out there in Newport, South Wales. And you know, he's the tech expert. So if you have any technical questions, just hang around and speak to him as well. We love we check, so after we pass it on to him, we feel to check in once again. Well, first of all, you said this is a hobby. So, Ben, all I want to say about your radio, you know what? It's a wonderful, wonderful hobby. You can make it anything you want. And you know, if you just want to make random connections, that's fantastic. You can do everything, RF stuff, HF, MCW, go on to mob and do more satellites. And recently, by the Thank you. Great."

"text": "and nine KGC from GW8SL. Okay there, Ray, sent me a foxtrot on Christmas Day. I'm going to make an assumption here. That's totally unusual then for your QTH, I'm sure. But I've heard that other places in the U.S. there's going to be really, really high record highs on Christmas Day as well. A couple of nets I was listening to earlier on, but we are going to end up in the Northern Hemisphere like Christmas Day in places like Australia with 40 Charlie and near the 100 degrees foxtrot at the rate we are going. So we are going to say goodbye to snow on Christmas Day. Not that we have actually had much snow on Christmas Day. It is rare we get snow here anyway where I'm located over Christmas. No, we can get it up to the second week of April, normally, but then it's really, really hit and miss. You can't say we are going to get it. We might get an eighth of an inch if we're lucky, but that's about it, but yes, it seems like the hemispheres are actually switching over for the temperature-wise and the seasons are going the seasons are going, all the pot and all the rest of it, and we won't know where we are in a couple of years' time. I'm sure what season it is, because there were day-nighttime temperatures where we normally get a 10 degree C swing. It's now down to about 3 or 4, so something is going on, because as I said earlier, and if you were listening, we currently got 46.2 here and It's past 11 in the evening. So, you know, we should but this time we should be much lower than that We got partial clouded sky as well. So it should be a lot lower But it's not so I don't we'll be having any snow for Christmas here is either the way back to your N9KGC This is repeater station kilo kilo 7 November Quebec November all star node 6222 located in Shelton Washington. Yeah well it's pretty strange Dave everywhere I mean the weather it is some unusual weather activity over the past couple years so I don't know what to make of it really but another strange thing we may have talked about this a few weeks ago I don't know but for all the hurricane activity over the past several years, you know, we've had more hurricanes and more severe hurricanes than ever, right, over the past several years. This year, we had none make landfall in the United States. No hurricane damage in the United States this hurricane season. So that's kind of weird because the trend was going the other way and And it was predicted to be, I believe everybody expected it to be another bad hurricane season. Not one. Very strange. But yeah, this temperature for Christmas Day would be very unusual. They had a, I haven't, I have not lived here my whole life, but there was a 68 degree temperature on record for Christmas Day several years ago. 68 was the high. So I guess if it really reaches 70, it will be a new record. We'll see. Other than that, like I say, not a whole lot happening. I'm going to try to get on HF tomorrow again, or maybe even tonight. It's only 530 here. See what's happening on 40 meters, and maybe try to log a few more of these 12 Days of Christmas event stations. They all have W2 call signs, just three characters except the one by one but they're all W2 prefix. So we'll see. I'm going to see what happens with all that. Before you know it, days will be getting longer. That's the other comment I was going to make. Today is the 19th. I think the 21st should be the short day and the next three days three days are about the same, right? There's no measurable difference. But by the 26th, the days will be getting longer. So we got through the shortest days already. Happened pretty quick. Be springtime before you know it, and I'm ready for it. All right, I'm going to give it back to you, Dave. I'm going to get back to listening. I think it's almost supper time here. We're going to be eating here shortly. So I'll get back to monitoring, and thanks for doing the net. And I missed Graham's portion of it. I wasn't on for most of this, so if Graham's still out there, I'll say hello, and whoever else might be, but I missed the beginning of the net, so I'll say seven, three days, and I will be here listening from N9, KG say."

Last one was named, it came up from Spain. The Spanish Met Office named it, it was named Storm Claudia, and it came up directly from the south, and we were open to the south, and it delivers actually the amount of rainfall it actually brought, where it was just under three months of our normal rainfall in twelve hours. There's loads and loads of flooding around, we were fine, thank God, but yeah, and of the river swell up so you can still get the rivers breaking their banks like up to five or six days later after the storm has gone through and that has happened as well. But anyway, glad to. Thank you very much for the nice words. Yeah, actually, I'm on the TGIF network, and we're coming through DV switch there. And thank you very much for the acknowledgment of the nice audio there as well. And you're coming in super as well. And I think the gentleman and the missus there before me were coming in great as well there. So it's very nice and pleasant to be able to hear the net as it is there. Yeah, thank you very much for that information, and we'll definitely look it up there. And yeah, so we're located at the northern tip of the province of Newfoundland there. So in a little small town in St. Anthony, and it's about 2,500 people. And I'm not too sure this is where the Vikings landed in the Lance of Metals. So we're about to hop, skip, and jump away from where the Vikings landed there. It's a big, renowned park here, and lots of tourists and stuff come through. So we're not too far from the Vikings settlement there. But anyway, yeah, it's great there to hear you. And yeah, we're here on fireside. So it's very nice there too. Really nice to have a net here on Friday nights there to be able to listen to and participate. So we'll try to check in again on the next over there. But yeah, I don't want to hog the net or frequency, sorry. And we'll just give it back to you, Dave. And we're using a TYT-380 MD. That's the radio I'm using. So I hope all is well, and send it back to you. Golf Whiskey 8, Sierra Zululima, Victor Ocean 1, the Tango X-ray back to you. This is repeater station kilo kilo 7, November, Quebec, November. It's right on the South Wales coast here in the UK. Easiest way to find it is find the capital city of Cardiff. Go 12 miles northeast along the coast, and you'll come to Newport there. So that's where we're located. And say audio's sounding great. And that radio is doing a fine job for you. And I see you're coming through talk group 326 there as well. So yeah, look forward to talking to you again. This is a rag tune net. So we can waffle on. And we do, on a regular basis, waffle on. Maybe a little bit too much from time to time, but this is a rag tune net. So there's no real time set. It's not sort of a hello and goodbye kind of net there, Chris, just for your information. So more than welcome. Any time to pop in and say hi. But before I move along, I'll put it back to you in case you've got anything final to add before I move along. Get good Oscar one, Tango X-ray in St. Anthony, Newfoundland. I just had a look, called up your QRZ page. In the back garden actually, this time of year we have far too many slugs and dogs and everything else are moving around and that's not good for dogs. So yeah, once the sun goes down and everything else is in the back garden, we just let him out. He wants to inspect everything with his mouth, so there we go. And that's not good for dogs. Yeah, we've lost a couple of the networks. They disconnected five minutes to midnight here. So unfortunately we must have lost Rick. So you're going to have gone past the five to midnight time, unfortunately. I'll just give him another call in case he's connected in some other way. KFI-VCO from gw8sl."

Yeah, honestly, it's a... Yeah, I've never been in and out of radio for about, well, I would say 60 years. Because I was about a three year old when someone threw a transistor radio at me hand and went in and I was like, wow! Me and you, Meccano, Lego, out the window. Oh, by the way, that's the Royal Channel there coming through. I'm out now. So yeah, three year old Meccano out the window. Wait, that was it? What? I've been in the same ever since. I was like, the radio was like, whoa! I'm never taking a gap. Dave, never taking a gap. And I think you should let some other people in because me and you were taking over. Oh, I am taking over. I knew we were going to stay in the chair. So it's been nice cracking with you. And we could go on all night, you know, we could probably get more entertained. Just by, you know, jumping through different decades of our radio, actually. Anyway, I am actually on the new Yifu FTX1 with 5 watts. And it's a fantastic radio. Now I must say this as well. I've got an ICOM 7610, an ICOM 9700, a 705, with this lefty X. I love everything on it. SSB, the full kit and caboodle. My buddy, JF. G0PGZ."

Well you know Dave, I appreciate that and all the rest and blah blah blah, but at 3am in the morning UK time, you know, maybe before we became kind of parents of puppies, or puppy, before puppy Odin came along, you know Dave, that's the kind of thing I would aspire to, but the right now, because puppy Odin gets us up at 5am, 6am, hey listen, asleep in is at 6.30am, so there we go, but in the olden days, yeah I would check into nets at 1am and 2am, even 3am UK time, but you know Dave, those times have gone by because we're puppy parents, there we go. Anyway Dave, thank you, thank you so much, I'll be passing the net over to you and please feel free everybody to read check-ins and talk to Dave as well, those have checked in already, it's honestly a right to net, right to for all people, new check-ins, old check-ins, there we go, it's a right to net, OK GW8SL from GM0, here you be Dave, thank you, thank you so much and over to you sir."

So across South East Wales here on RF also and yeah, please come back and let us know what Chinese food that you actually cook for you and also enjoy the trip to Lake Michigan as well. Hope the weather stays nice for you. Yes, I always go to foreign countries, different countries. I always eat the local food and drink the local water. Even though I don't drink the water, it's all the bottle that's never affected me so I just drink the water. That always gets me is people who want to have ice in their drinks when they go to the local sort of pubs and restaurants. Where did that water come from? Their local water supply. Anyway, I'll let you disappear there Mike. Thanks so much for popping in and we look forward to how the actual Chinese food went for you there. I'm sure it's going to be absolutely fantastic. Okay, I'm going to say 7th for you to Mike over there in Indianapolis. That's Kilo Charlie 9, Lima, Romeo, Bravo and we're going to Mr Ray over there in Indiana. That's November 9 Kilo Golf Charlie. What have you been up to Ray? Anything nice or built, designed something new? And over to you. N9KGC, TW8S, Faddell."

And we've been in your net control so far for the International Radio Network's KB1 Multimode net. And we've only had one round of check-ins, but goodness, we've been here for over one and a half hours. So you know what? We're going to move on to part two. And let our part two net control operator look for that next round of check-ins. And you might want to have Keith and Shirley there as the first two, but of course, it's entirely up to him. And him is Golf Whiskey 8 Sierra Zulu Lima. So let's see if he is out there alive and well and ready and willing, because that's a big, big, that's a lot of questions. And GWASL from GM Zero UUB. Are you out there, Dave? Are you alive and ready and willing? Go and tell us."
