Well, I had something for Brooks and Megan and everybody else. If you want a fast Internet, if you've lost service, boy, boy, if you could tap into this at some point, they've got a new cable they're doing under the sea between Maryland and County Cork in Ireland. This is for Amazon Web Services. It's one of many cables and links they have worldwide. But listen to this, Rebecca. 320 terabytes per second. 320 terabytes per second. That is enough bandwidth to stream 12.5 million HD films simultaneously. That is just terrifying. Anyway, I thought that was really interesting. But as far as VK3KK, great to have him in town. He's on his way back down to see the rest of his family that is here in the US. His sister and his two nephews, they're going to have a great time. I asked him, I said, are you going to go by the sphere in Las Vegas by chance? Because they're doing a once in a lifetime experience there showing the Wizard of Oz. And it has been completely overhauled with all the newest, fanciest, craziest theatrical enhancements that you can possibly imagine. Get out to YouTube and check this out. There's a great, great video that a woman and her daughter shot from inside the theater showing some of the environment itself. Showing some of the 4D effects and some of the other things. It's just amazing. Everybody's just going ooh and ahh. Anyway, yeah, it's pretty neat. So that's about it. I'll be there at the educational meeting tomorrow. I'm also hosting the new net for Kirk, AT7YM while he's still out of town. He'll be back I think in about another week or so. So you'll hear him on Saturdays again. But Rebecca, thank you so much. This is my first time joining this net. I've been listening for about a week now after finding this. This is Katie9DUU Steven from Oceola, Indiana, North Central Indiana. Answer and the question of what do you do for fall preps? Well, we've got pretty much all of our major work done. We've actually drained the sprinkler lines and got those all blown out and got the sprinkler heads covered and pump apart and everything drained out of the lines. We've got the pool covered up and closed up for the winter and got the pump and filter put away. The only thing we have left that we have to do is go around and take care of all the leaves that fall out of the trees that we get. Most of those are already starting to come down. That will be kind of a chore because a couple of the trees are large oak trees. If anybody's ever had an oak tree, they've got a lot of leaves and they come down basically all winter long. Other than that, we've got pretty much all the major projects that we need to get done outside taken care of. I'll send it back to Net Control. It's Katie9DUU."},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-20T05:10:47+00:00","id":64867,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":64866,"text":" All right, Russell, no problem. No problem. I was just waiting a couple of seconds here to let everything reset and because the system is huge. Well, my weekends are like four days long right now because I'm doing the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, go to Iowa and back. I'm on my way to Iowa right now, just left town about 15 minutes ago. But yeah, this week on the Learnatorium, I did the big thing I've been dreading to do. When you start drilling holes in buildings, that's a big event for me. And I always do it with a bit of trepidation. But got the holes drilled, got the conduits through the wall, got the wires all run, got the things hooked up. And so no more temporary hookups at the Learnatorium. Everything is all done kicky boo proper. And for anybody putting together a station, this is the first time really, and I hate to admit it, but my lightning protection in the past has always just been unscrewed coax and I've never had a really good grounding system. I've had a ground system, but it's been marginal at best. But this time I put in a proper ground system. And I can tell you right now made a big difference. I was picking up a little bit of, I could see it on the spectrum display on my 7300. On 75 meters there was some kind of electronic pulse that I could see on the display. Couldn't hear it very much, but I could see it on the display. And that is gone. I've got the Heil receive audio system because it helps deal with my frequency loss and makes the radio more intelligible. I was getting a little bit of RF feedback into that. It was like a half second delay. I could hear myself and the speakers. That is gone. And it just makes a huge difference. So that's what I did the first part of the week. Yesterday I had my son and my grandson come over to give me a hand and we moved all my firewood that I had split and stacked and let air dry for about a month and a half, two months. It was already mostly dry, but it's been sitting out in the sun for about 45 days. And between noon and six o'clock last night we moved 20 face cords of wood into the woodshed. And to give people an idea that don't deal with firewood, my woodshed is 12 by 16. Something like that. 12 by 16. Something like that. I can't remember. Yeah, 12 by 16. And that thing is full from the floor to the sill plate. Completely full except for a little 20 inch pathway that goes to the back. And it was a ton of wood. We all got wore out. But that's what we did. And then an hour after we got it in, it started to rain. So perfect timing. It's the first real rain we've had since I split the wood. And one last reset. You asked George about the No King protest. Interesting. They were interesting. I watched a few things. And the most glaring thing that jumped out to me, MSNBC. No question, they are biased. It's just their coverage is unadulterated bias. And they had a video of the rally in Boston. And they were talking about how many people were there and look at all these people and I'm watching this video. And something was not right in the video. Couldn't put my finger on it right away. And I looked away for a second I looked out the window, at the learnatorium and I saw all the foliage colors. And I looked back at the computer screen and it's like, that's not Boston right now. The video had zero foliage changed. It was all green. Everything was green. And I'm going to tell you what, there's nowhere north of Interstate 70 at this time of year right now that hasn't got at least some foliage changed. And north of Washington DC, everything's at least 50% foliage. So they knowingly put up a false video and claimed it was this big giant rally. And they wonder why nobody trusts them. Why people question what they do. And if you're a national news agency and you knowingly put up a false video and claim it's one thing and it's something else. To me that's unexcusable. But the part that I thought was funny when I really got to watching other people had seen it and dug into it. The rally to protest the no king was actually a video of one of the king's rallies in 2017. And so that's how dishonest they are. The other thing I noticed was that in some of the news coverage, they say it's grassroots. I don't consider anything grassroots that has U-Haul trucks delivering signage and blow up costumes. It just, it was a farce. To me it was nothing but a giant farce because if he was king, they couldn't protest. So there you go Greg. And as usual Monday mornings, I got time to stop by, check in once. But I will be saying 7-3's. Everybody have a great day. But I'll listen to your response Greg."},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-10-15T09:30:03+00:00","id":61082,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":61081,"text":" Good morning, Kevin. I mean, they work there freely and they can resign or take their stuff and go wherever, whenever they want to. But we have the same situation in South Africa with Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Some of those people jumped the border and they are working on some of the South African farms. And most of them are very hard workers because in their own country there is no work. There is no work, there is no food, and they are very hard workers. So there is pros and cons to it, but yeah, we definitely have the same situation in South Africa there. But also documented immigrants are much better than undocumented immigrants. If you look at the situation in South Africa, you can see the crime spectrum and then form attacks and whatever there. So there you go. All right, take me off the list. I got a V-Tech UVPro and with it I got a Bluetooth handset called the TS22, which I'm talking to you over right now. I was holding it a little weak and it broke my mouth a second ago so it probably got pretty quiet. But I've been noticing a bit of white noise on it. I think that's what you were complaining about earlier. And I have no idea how it sounds and I couldn't get a signal check a little bit earlier. So I'm just thinking maybe I'll kick it back to you and see if you can give me a signal check. Alright, well I was looking at the voter scope too. So as far as the transmission, you're hitting the Capital Park Master almost completely at 255 and hitting a bunch of the other inputs at some lower levels. Yeah, your audio, yeah definitely I noticed when you pulled it away a little bit it was quiet. But even when it was back to normal I would say it's on the quiet side compared to other people checking in tonight. So I'm not sure if there is a way to up that gain or even get a little closer to the mic without making noises and stuff like that. But yeah, definitely. And yeah, there is just some white noise on the background. And the way the noise sounds I would almost think you had a weak signal, but looking at the voter scope the signal is very strong. I mean probably S8 coming into the repeater, or the receiving station at least. But then it still had this white noise. So I don't know if that's something to do with the radio or the Bluetooth headset itself. But yeah, there is definitely a little white noise. The sound to noise ratio is not very good on it. So, but it's still you're very intelligible. No problems there. So hopefully that helps with the report there. Not sure if you have access to kind of a parrot or anything, just kind of listen to yourself. A trick that we do sometimes is you can stream the PSRG. What is it on SoundCloud? What's the site? I'm blanking right now. But you can stream it. If you go to PSRG.org there is a stream link. You can actually click that. And it has probably, how is it, about a 30 second delay. So sometimes you can do transmission and then listen back to yourself in like 30 seconds even. And like I said, that can be a little bit deceiving in as much as you need to know how you compare to other people and stuff. In a vacuum it may not tell you much. Let me reset. But yeah, anyway, it sounds like the new radio is, you are having some fun with that. So yeah, go ahead and keep experimenting a little bit. See if there is a way to up that mic gain at all. But other than that, congrats on that new B-Tech radio. Man, that sounds like a lot of fun there. Having the hands free and the Bluetooth is always pretty fun there. All right, thanks Sebastian. You have a great night. All right, I am Brian, KE7, KZH. This is the 9 o'clock net on the PSRG repeater in Seattle, Washington. That was the bottom of the list again. So let's go ahead and say, I think I dare say final round here, but we will see how it goes. If there is a large round I could always do another. But let's go ahead and say final round here. We had that celebration of life for mom on Saturday night. That went really well, man. I gotta say, did it ever. I got to see so many relatives and old friends and stuff that I hadn't seen in so many years. It was unreal. We had good music. We had some big PA system hooked up for music. It was pounding like a concert. There was more food than I'd ever seen at an event in my life. I think we had six tables, long tables. Six tables that were made of three tables each. They were spread out like fingers right across the half of the hall. There was everything from cooked food like fish and chips and gravy and steaks and burgers and pizzas and all kinds of stuff. Our family has been in this area for a long time. We're very well known in this neighbourhood because we've been here for so long. There were people from literally every corner of the neighbourhood and family that flew in from different parts of the country. Man, it was unreal. There were about 100 people, I suppose. It was just fantastic. I gotta say, mom had a lot of friends and a lot of people that liked her and cared about her. It went over really well. I actually had a few drinks Saturday night, which I don't typically do. Let me reset again. It wasn't Fireball. There was no Fireball. I was drinking these Coolers. It's like a can of... It tastes like fruit juice, but it's not. Well, it is, I guess, but it's got vodka in it and stuff like this. Oh, God, what is it? Like the Curdie Breeze something or other. Oh, man, they were really good though. Started off with a couple of blue ones and I didn't know they were blue at first because I was giving them in the can. Then the couple after that, they were poured in a cup and I could see that it was blue. I was thinking to myself, geez, make no wonder I like these stuff. I haven't had a blue beverage that I didn't like. Kool-Aid and Gatorade and stuff. Everything blue tastes good. Maybe not antifreeze, but I've never drank that. So, yeah, I started off with the blue ones and then they ran out of blue ones because everybody seemed to like the blue ones, the Berry Blast or whatever it was called. Hey, Shadow. Then, oh, God, I'm laying down again. I just had a monster of a cat jump on my stomach. He's making biscuits on my belly. Anyway, so he ran out of blue ones, so I had to start drinking the red ones. The red ones were incredibly good. Shadow, you're hitting me in the face with your tail, bud. This cat is unreal. He's got his tail wrapped around my neck, around my head, and his paws are now making biscuits on my legs. This is how big this monster of a cat is that just decided that I'm going to be his pillow for the time being. But, yeah, anyway, Gray. Not my leg, you little furry bastard. Anyway, I got to go. I mean, I'm still here, but I got to wrestle this cat off me.
