It's time for the running o'clock PSRG social net for Saturday, December 20th on Bill K7WFD. This is a directed social net that happens on the WW7 PSR 2 meter repeater, which is located on Capitol Hill in Seattle and operated by the Puget Sound repeater group. The repeater operates at a frequency of 146.96 with a negative offset and a PL tone of 103.5. All licensed fans and new licensees just getting started are welcome to join. If you have third party traffic, we'd like to hear from them too. We encourage you to press that button, tell us a little bit about yourself, your radio projects or just about anything else. As always, please limit your reports to three minutes so we can get as many stations in as possible. This is also when the repeater times out. When you're finished with your report, please exit your call sign. That'll keep the FCC happy. We'll be compiling lists of stations that would like to check in and then we'll ask for your reports. If you'd like to check in only, just let us know you'll be in and out, also known as an IO. Again, this is Bill, K7, WSD. Let's get the next started. Please come ahead now with your call sign and name. Kilo, Alpha, Nine, Echo, Hotel, Victor, KA9, EH, B, M. And number one on the list, who's next? Whiskey 3, Lena, Sierra, Mary, Eugene, Oregon. Well, that's them and Eugene, you're number two on the list. Welcome, I don't think you've joined us on a Saturday before. I call them war frats because I'm only a block and a half from the ocean and so When I call him the big and he was chasing the squirrels chasing the blue jays and chasing the crows Of course when the rat came out I quit throwing peanuts And chase them off but that's that's been I got another rat story That's as gross as the hammer story, but you know what Jack? Hey, so hold on a second I want to go back to something you mentioned in your report and that is the horseradish Now you are going to harvest that if it's ready. I've never grown horseradish, but is it ready and can you use it? I Guess who's the king up there should? unkey anyway My dad had a lot of horseradish in his property and really slow me soil soft and I Not a real big fan, but I harvested some I gave it to a friend of mine in our reserve He said it was the sweetest best horseradish you've ever had and he made his own horseradish Oh when you make your own horseradish, you better wear goggles and gloves So So I haven't ever harvested only a one plant I were if I pull it up then it'll be gone Our soil is at the best over here for horseradish, but every year getting the leaves get a little bigger I'm hoping it'll spread sideways and then I'll have more than one plant but someday I'll harvest it and make horseradish Maybe so anyway, Jack. Your audio was a little bit low. But yeah, nothing to turn up the volume, couldn't fix. And so yeah, your battery seemed to work just fine. I'm also glad that the Mariners won. So exciting. That means that they will finish in first place in the American League West, which is very cool. First time they've done that since 2001. And then Cal Raleigh hit his 60th home run. Very exciting also. All right. Well, thanks for checking in. I don't get to say that. You're usually sitting here next to me running the net, not checking into the net while I run it. That's good then. I know some places and you get really torrential rain, especially when you've had long dry spells. The water doesn't actually soak into the ground and cause flash flooding and that kind of thing. That's very, very rare over here. When we had a storm earlier, as I said, on the weekend, last weekend, it redid. The drains couldn't actually take the volume of water and the mannal covers were popping up, you know, the covers on the sewer systems itself. They were popping up and we got some great videos of that happening as well last weekend. Of course, if the light's not big enough to take the full amount of water, it pops the mannal covers up, there's only one way it's going to go. It's going to have to start flooding and all that kind of stuff. It happens, I think we're going to see more of it over here as the time goes on, to be honest there, Will. We're definitely seeing a major change in the weather there. Yeah, you never know. Hopefully, we were getting 100 plus degrees fahrkstod over here in 10 minutes time if the Met Office has got their prediction correct. Anyway, back to you my friend and have you got anything planned for the day or for the week, I wonder? Okay. The whole reason for that strike is basically the stewardesses are more important than anything else, right? Well, that's what they're striking about is the pay for the stewardesses. And the reason why they went on strike is because the stewardesses on these flights only get paid when they're in the air. But yet they work several hours on the ground. And so checking people in, getting them to their seats, getting everybody ready to go, all that kind of thing, right? So they're only getting paid for flight time and nothing else. And the stewardesses on average only make about $40,000 up there in Canada, which is a whole truth sum for the cost of living up there. So I kind of see where they would, they will go on strike on something like that and try to raise the rates. I'm a firm believer in unions and collective bargaining, because if you're not that way, if there's not these unions around anymore, then the cost of, or the salaries that are in Canada will go down just like they did, went down in the United States because they've been just hitting the unions down here like crazy for years. So I don't know. I think there's a real purpose for unions. And it did it again. There we go. Back to you. Oh yeah. I completely understand the necessity of them and why they went on strike. But that goes back to Air Canada, the cost of air travel in Canada, dude, I can go from Toronto to Cuba cheaper than for two weeks, all in cheaper than I can fly across our country. It is stupid up here. You know, Air Canada had got the monopoly on travel within Canada and they make money hand over fist. I don't care what they say. You know, when I flew to Saskatchewan, when my mom was in the hospital, it cost me 1200 round trip. It's a 20 hour drive. Like, it's just stupid up here."},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-23T22:19:24+00:00","id":22965,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":22964,"text":" Funny you mention that. KG maybe? 7WMN. Ann Marie. And she has a vast, I haven't seen it, but uh, collection of albums. I thought I'd heard the number maybe tens of thousands. Believe it or not. I think I'm gonna have to end up freezing some of it. I don't think I'm gonna finish it off before it goes bad. So I'm gonna have to freeze it, put some in the freezer. But yeah, I talked about the freeze-dried candy. I had to go pick up a prescription up at Walgreens. And they sell for that freeze-dried candy. It looks like Skittles. It's expensive. It's like $9 or something. But I don't know. I didn't really look into that close one. It looked like Skittles. And I forget what the other one was. But yeah, they got it here.
