If you have third party traffic, we'd like to hear from them too. We encourage you to press that button, tell us a little bit about yourself, your radio projects, or just about anything else as long as it's suitable for a general audience. Please limit your response reports to three minutes so that we can get as many stations as possible. This is also when the repeater times out. When you're finished with your report, please end with your call sign. I'll be compiling lists of stations that would like to check in, and then I'll ask for your report. We're going to take him over. An emergency appointment and we'll find out. I actually think he's turned the corner and getting better. But Wes wants to take him down, so that's what we're going to do. You know, 10 years ago when this house was being planned, I looked at Zigbee and all the other methodologies, controlling switches and stuff like that, and I made the decision that I wanted like zero maintenance. So any switch I looked at had to be Wi-Fi. It didn't need a converter, didn't need a control panel, didn't need all that stuff. It was Wi-Fi and you could run it with Alexa natively. So it's not complicated. And this situation I'm rapidly entering here is the exact one that I was trying to prepare for. So I'm going to look at the Lutron and the Leviton. You said one of those you had good experiences with. I don't know which one it was. But they have to do Wi-Fi, otherwise I won't use them. And it can't be proprietary. You know, everybody has to be able to control them. So whether you use HomeKit or just an Alexa, call it by its name, that'll be fine with me. And I guess we'll just migrate them as they go bad. We'll migrate them one at a time. It still means we've got two different systems, but I want to run them from one thing. And that is for now, that's Alexa. That's what I'm going to run them with. Anyway guys, 73. It's always a privilege and a pleasure. Again, a really good night, Josh. Good for you. And I will talk at you all tomorrow. Fortunately, I'm severe ADHD and can multitask like a crazy man, so that helps. On the downside, it tends to take me forever to finish my projects, so there's a trade-off. You know, Monday through Thursday, it's not so bad to be part of the net and work, because you're mainly listening, right? I mean, you do have to pause and talk sometimes, and sometimes whenever I'm in a meeting or something, like I was on a call a while ago, although I wasn't speaking on the call at the time, I was able to chime in and say, I'm working, I'll get back with you. So it's not so bad Monday through Thursday. Friday mornings can be a bit of a tussle sometimes. I typically start my workday any time between six and eight, depending on whenever I feel like logging in and getting started. I tend to get most of my work done in the morning, up to around, I don't know, 10 or 11 o'clock, and then it tends to kind of go crazy after that. You know, anybody who's done any type of work like what I do would understand that sentiment. So yeah, I get most of my work done in the first three, four, five hours of the day, and I really do, obviously, get more work done during that time than I do the rest of the day combined. So that's how we do it around here. Well, that and to be completely honest, even if I'm not standing in that in front of my computer and I need to do something, I'm always on my phone or my tablet close by, and I can do a lot from there, you know, if it's a quick thing. If I got to sit down and work on the spreadsheet or something like that, it's not as easy. But it is doable. The modern conveniences of technology, isn't it something? I mean, the job that I'm doing now 30 years ago would have been done on an old computer running a very old version of Excel, basically. And, shoot, today I can even integrate AI. I can connect to an MCP on NetSuite and then just ask AI to go and look for things out of my NetSuite account. Isn't that crazy? I find it mind-blowing. I'm middle-aged, and so I'm starting to see from what it was like as a kid to what it's like as an adult, I mean, the massive, massive changes. And then I think about people like Mel or Steve or even Bill and Gray, you know, these gentlemen, and I use that term loosely, they've lived through a lot of years. And in my 45 years, I've seen this much change. I would love to hear more about what you guys have felt and seen through y'all's last time, you know? To me, that's just fascinating. What should happen with Gaza? Man, if there's ever a loaded question, there it is. To be honest, I don't know. I mean, I don't know. It would be great if the Middle Eastern countries of the world would step up and do what America is forcing it to do. Let's just shape up and come in line with modern political viewpoints of the world. Which is basically what's happening. I mean, Hamas needs to be eradicated. I'll say that. I don't mind saying that. Hamas needs to be done away with. Not the Palestinians. Just Hamas. Let's be clear on that. Yeah, they need to go away. They need to be permanently extinguished. That would probably help out the Palestinians more than anything, in my mind. But yeah, what to do with the Middle East? I mean, it's planned real estate. There's one thing that's true. If it was cleaned up and put together in mass, I mean, could you imagine the Gaza in 50 years? I mean, it could be another Dubai. It could be another, I'm going to butcher the name, Kunshang in China. If you haven't looked up that city yet, you should. Yeah, I mean, it's almost like a painter's canvas. If religion and politics would get the hell out of the way. But that's never going to happen. Like Darrell said. The beef between the Palestinians and the Israelites have been going on for thousands and thousands of years. We can only look back to David versus Goliath as an example. So there you go. One toothpick per dip, please. Sour cream and toothpicks. Again, one toothpick per dip, please. That helps prevent the spread of germs that can contribute to things like COVID. My wife is over here laughing. All right. So I don't know. Some people call them different things. Some call them jalapeno poppers. Some people call them Texas Twinkies. Some people call them armadillo eggs. There's lots of different ways to make them. I have made them multiple ways many times. But my wife and mine and probably my kids' favorite ways to eat them is actually done at a restaurant. And we could copy them at home, but it does take a lot of work. Basically what they do is they take a rather large jalapeno and they cut a slice down the middle of it, like lengthways. They tie it open, squeeze it open and scrape out all the seeds and membrane, all the white. That's where the heat is at in a pepper. So they scrape all that out. And then what they do is they pack it back in there with smoked brisket and some cheese. They pack it pretty tight with that. And then they'll go ahead and freeze it. When they get ready to cook it, well, I don't know how to restaurant. I know how we do it here at the house. When we get ready to cook it, we'll take it out. We'll make it a three-dip station. We do it with all of our fried stuff, air fried too nowadays. But basically you roll it in flour. You roll it in an egg mixture with a little bit of milk and then you roll it in panko breadcrumbs or whatever. We do that a couple of times, like we try to build up a pretty good thick shell around the jalapeno. And the best way to do those is to deep fry them. So when you get done, you basically have a baked-in jalapeno with whatever kind of meat you like. It doesn't have to be brisket. It can be pork. It can be anything. Whatever kind of cheeses you like or whatever kind of stuffings you like in it. I mean, you don't have to put meat in it. I've seen people take and put cream cheese and spinach and stuff it with those. I've seen people use chopped pork. I've seen people use chopped chicken. I've seen people use sausage and bacon. So there's lots of different ways to change that. Then we usually make that dipping sauce or a few dipping sauces actually with it. If you're doing it like that, I like me personally, I just like a ranch dipping sauce. Homemade, of course. But there's also homemade Chick-fil-A sauces and stuff like that or something spicier. Sometimes Apple is catching up to Samsung, well, I'll say Samsung, but sometimes Apple is catching up to Android and sometimes Android is catching up to Apple. My wife is actually putting the new Apple OS on her phone right now. We usually give it a good day or so and let everybody who can't wait get their downloads done so we don't have to sit there and fight for ban space. I don't know if it's going to go on my iPhone or not. I have an older iPhone, so it's just my, I call it my ham radio phone. I only have it for the computer phone, really. But I don't know, I need to see if I can update that or not. That would be interesting. And then let me see what else we've got going on today. We've got a little bit of work. You know, I think I'm going to start getting the front yard ready for Halloween. I need to probably do a good mowing again. It's not very tall. The rain had much rain. But if I don't mow it and I put decorations up, you know, within a week I'll have to mow it. So I might as well mow it here sometime this week and get it prepared. Other than that, I guess that's about it. We're going to sit here and watch some news, I guess, for a little bit while I work. And the living room? Yeah, my wife will probably start painting the next section of the living room. She wanted to paint, and so I'm all good with painting. Hang on one second. Rilajee, sit. My dog is trying to unleash her. We just got back from a walk. See, the cat doesn't want to unleash. Now she did. Okay. Yeah, she's going to paint the living room, the next wall. We're doing it wall by wall. That way it's not overwhelming and we don't have to tear everything apart. We just remove everything off of one wall, mask it up. I think Rilajee can mask it up and slap some paint on it. That way it looks like it's a fresh new living room. We already prepped the walls and everything. We did that a month or so ago. Just getting ready for it. So, yeah, I guess that's what she'll do. She'll probably paint and I'll do some work. And other than that, what? Robert Redford died. Oh, my wife just told me Robert Redford died. She just came across the bottom of the screen. She just came across the bottom of the screen underneath. She said, oh, that's awful. KJ5 IRQ for identification. Yeah, I heard about it. You know, it's funny. I do remember a few short months ago for the Army's birthday, President Trump, who has been coincided with the Army's birthday, threw a parade. And man, it did not go over well, especially on this net. So I would expect the same with the Axis of Evil. That's what I'm calling them. Look, guys and girls, study history. Is it the first time this has happened? Won't be the last time this has happened. Over the history of the earth, countries have formed coalitions together for various purposes. This one here is because China can't beat us on their own. Russia damn sure can't beat us on their own. Hell, they can't even take on Ukraine successfully. And then, you know, India. Yeah, India ain't got a chance. We ain't even going to bring North Korea to the max. I mean, good Lord. Now we're talking about fallacy, right? So yeah, the problem is, is that it doesn't seem like many people taking it serious. I think it's a serious thing, mainly because history does tend to repeat itself. I mean, we don't have to go very far back in history to see the last time countries opposed to Western civilization, I guess is the best way to put it, would form a coalition and do what they do. I mean, you can look at the pact between Germany, Japan, Italy, and at the very beginning, Russia. So yeah, it's concerning. I mean, they're rolling out their military stuff. Okay, cool. I mean, don't get me wrong. That's pretty cool. I mean, it's all about the, about the United States army parade. However, if anybody thinks that they are showing their hand and what they actually have as secrets, you're fooling yourself. No country in the world is going to show off their secret crap. Yes, for a parade. Even if the parade is mainly for the row. That is why you see Russia, North Korea, China, gosh, I could go on. That's the reason why you see these countries do these military parades a lot more than you see the United States. One, they need the morale. I'm just saying I've seen the Republican national, I mean, the Republican, the Iraqi Republican Guard unit live and in person back in the early 2000s. They're supposed to be big and bad and boy, we're going to have a fight with them. No, they had no morale. They were, they were soup. And that is honestly what Russia is. China, I don't think I'd say that about so much. India, absolutely. They're a soup sandwich and we won't even get in to North Korea. I mean, that's, that's, that's the only people in that entire thing that I'm super concerned about is China with the manpower of India. I'm going to take."},{"callsign_confidence":0.85,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-22T06:08:27+00:00","id":21404,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":21403,"text":" AJ5IRQ, this is Casey 2, PKT, and it's interesting you mentioned Hamilton. I'm trying to convince my son, who's a songwriter, to help me write a musical. And I don't think it's going to work, but hopes are high. But I have a song from Hamilton stuck in my head. And I don't know if you guys do this or not, but I play, I get a song stuck in my head and I just play it over and over and over and over. It's You'll Be Back from Hamilton. It's the song that the British king sings. And I'm trying to get him to write us a song kind of like that for the governor of Massachusetts. Because one of the great first naval battles was fought right here in Machiasport. And that was the Margaretta, which came up from Boston. It was British held. And they got their butts kicked. And the colonists did it without a boat. Imagine that. Yeah, you know that tradition. It started out because we picked up everybody. But when we left New Jersey, we just said, get in the car, we're going to... Well, not my oldest son. He was in rehab. But we got everybody else to him in the car and we drove them all up here. And then within a year, everybody had their own place to live. But it was originally a trick so that we would be coming to their house at least twice a month. And we could see whether they were vacuuming, cleaning up, whether they were treating those houses nicely and stuff like that. And then we got tired of seeing that they weren't. So now they come here and cook for us every Wednesday. And it's a good thing. I think it's related to, you know, when you go away to school or you're away from your family, we used to have a tradition of making a call every Sunday. So that's when I would call my parents. That's when my oldest was in Spain and he was... we would contact each other on Sunday. Let me drop it for a second."}]}
