So my hands are full between working and childcare at the minute, so it's not easy. But I have lessons the odd day, and I hope everybody's doing okay. My WX isn't too bad. It's around about 18 degrees Celsius today. A little bit overcast, but we've had sunny spells, and there's no rain, which makes a hectic difference here. And we've got two weeks of the summer holidays to go. The schools go back here on the 14th of August. And I actually noticed this morning, I'll get up very early, I've noticed that the sun is rising later and later. And it's certainly been a bit darker in the mornings here, and the evenings are getting darker a little earlier as well. So that autumn is keeping orders unfortunately there. Making it illegal for a certain age to not be able to work. I was working for Stafford Bean Yards, doing green beans, pulling them off the vine, and you got paid by, by weight, and so on and so forth. The next job, let's see, the next job was Burley's Arco, we serviced, four service trucks, and I had my permit, and he put me in a truck and said, drive this, and I said, but I gotta have somebody in the car. He said, not today, he says, you're working with me, he says, I'm behind you, he says, if a cop pulls you over, I'll pull that right behind him and let him know what's going on. And then, my first car was a 50, 58 Oldsmobile 88, the first, I guess, the first time I ever learned 130 miles an hour. He's scared to whip right out of my palm. And let's see what this label do, he says. Anyway, he's gonna let me grab my man so I don't time out. I'll back this up with Mike Romeo. I worked the gold slot in the hard work plant, and we were doing a 196 inch panel, still hot from the press, and it had to be unstacked the first time, otherwise the mill had to shut down while we regrouped, and then our stuff would go over and go through the sander. That's when I went into the service, and that's because the oldest of eight children, and the latter, they came home, I didn't figure I was gonna be looking at doing too awful much education in the past high school, so I went in the service to get my VA benefits. So there you go, and I had something else, and yeah, I'm having that brain fart there Terry, but thanks for checking in, thanks for that, and have a great day, glad we got you guys in, check in, hook up to a waiter, so glad we got you in there. So I've got Phil and Ellen rechecked, so let me get Carrie first from Ireland. But I did it in a Saturday and Sunday, and it was a steady wage, steady paycheck that I got each month while I was studying at university. At the time I was studying psychology, and yeah, then I don't know how it happened, but I ended up now working in the local government. Completely went in a different direction, but yeah, you know what it is, get mortgagee, end up with responsibility, get married and all of that as well, and get the bill today, so all of that, Kenny was out and out, and never looked for the work with the We're going through this forum, anyway it's a weather warning, we're getting quite stormy, it started about 10am this morning, and it's going to continue until at least 10pm this evening. Hey, well thank you for carrying in, I remember one of my early jobs, I worked at an airport parking lot and we had a travel agency there, and I remember the travel agency at that time, and then going back to the 1980's, they used to get to travel for free back in those days, because they were selling whatever they were selling, and of course businesses, hotels, airlines, one of them the Port of the Bay, and the other one was the So yeah, that sounds like it would be a fun job, I don't even know if those exist anymore, with today's do it yourself world, a lot of jobs have gone away due to that, so there you go, but thanks Gary, always good to hear you there, and let's go for Phil on a recheck, G0OBX from KK7Z. Thanks Joe for the recheck, I neglected to give a weather report, we're at 72 degrees F, dropped here on the Colorado Front Range under cloudless skies, going up to 94, looks like we're going to be in the 90's for the entire week, cooling off into the weekend. Anyway, I'm thinking maybe run that new QRP 100 watt slash 5 watt comfortable and maybe I'll try for that one. See if I can. Since I can't get my other equipment here, and then put it all in my trailer and back the darn trailer in against the fence, you can't get into the back of it without having something to tow it away a little bit. Anyway, so another one of the things going on here. So back to that. Thank you for bringing me in because you can't pick me up. I'll go seven micro-men back to the neck until I have a great radio deal. A-E-7 MR. Okay, Jerry. Well, good luck on that. I had a friend that was in the assistant living and the maintenance man was really handy for him. The maintenance man put an antenna outside up on the, they had a little roof sticking out from the upper part of the building and put an antenna up there for him and ran everything down there to him and I guess that worked out real well. But since then he's been in silent key. But yeah, that probably is hard to get things done like that in those assistant living places. So good luck and I hope you get something working there for you. A-6 T-2-R Glenn is up next. Go ahead, Glenn. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7, November, Quebec. I was here this morning and first of all thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a really nice day. It started off with a little bit of housework there. I was installing a new kitchen faucet and Murphy was right there with me. He only caused one additional trip to the big box store to pick up some unexpected parts. But other than that it all went fine. I can tell I'm getting older, getting underneath the sink like that in all kinds of contorted positions to get around the pipes and whatnot. But only mildly sore today. But after that the family kicked in and we had a great time, had a really nice dinner. So they really treated me like a king and that was nice. So today, getting ready, we're going to be hosting the Greater Irvine Chamber Business Mixer out at the Restoration Hangar. It's an opportunity to introduce what we're doing out there to all of the business leaders in Orange County here. So that should be a really nice late afternoon, early evening event there. Looking forward to it. So that's it for today. K6TKR back to netting. Okay Glenn, I know all about that. It gets under the canvas or sink and what have you. Oh man, I just had to do that here not too long ago. And I have a heck of a time getting back up. Since I had to need a replace, they don't work like they did before, you know. You don't have that initial push to get up. So you got to grab a hold of something and all that. Like you say, you got to get contorted just to get out of that plumbing. It seems like I can make stuff a lot easier to get at and make it workable so that you can change the parts. Seems like every time you get into plumbing though, you've always got to get something else that you didn't expect to put in. So I know how that is. So after I don't like plumbing at all. Most other stuff I like to do, but plumbing is what I'm crazy about. I got all the stuff to do it with though. So anyway, you have a great day and Glenn, you had a great birthday there. Here comes another funny story. My uncle Raymond, my mom's twin brother, was a Navy man. He married a young lady. And they were headed back from Seattle. And they were down on probably the west side of the Runa Maka. And Raymond owns a big car, so he had this big old Cadillac. And there was a good word in Warren. She was doing her driving. And he was sitting in the middle of the back seat with his arms up on the back of the seat, and he was kind of sleeping there all of a sudden. And he's going from side to side, side to side, and side to side in the back seat. And he said, what are you doing? She goes, I don't want to kill the bunnies. He says, kill the bunnies, because he says, no problem. We'll pay you for every one of them. There was about 10 o'clock in the morning, and the bunnies was coming out. And they were turning themselves on the highway. And she was trying to not hit him. And he was just being strong, standing just down in the back of the border. So that's the other side of the story. And not a lot going on here today so far. And hopefully my apostles come in from the VA, because the current situation is really a pain in the neck. So back to you from Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo, thank you for bringing me in, because you can't pick me up. Where else can I take a trip and not leave the mess? 807MR, back to KC 7, FMW, and the group. Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo. Speaking of making a bold two-tight, my dear father-in-law KTR-1774-8 drove 500 miles to get me to listen to the boat on the underneath side of the carburetor, back where you couldn't reach it. When I was young, I was strong. I used to make money on high school, betting that I could lift the back of my B110 and put the dachshund off the ground. And they told me, I can't even watch me. I'd back up to it and put it down on the ground. But yeah, he once drove that far because I had tightened something where he couldn't reach it. Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo, back to the group. Thank you for taking my re-reject. 87MR, Mr. Terry. All right, dear Mr. Terry, all right, thanks a lot for your double-reject there. And I will say 73 to you. All right, V01 to UKZ, Daryl, go ahead on your re-reject. Yeah, thank you, Eric. I think I timed out on my last one. Yeah, Terry, I wish I had your expertise up this way, man, because unfortunately my only option is to send it to a quad repair place. And I've contacted a couple, and it's still 100 bucks to get it done up here. And apparently a quarter of it was on that previous net. And that's not a bad deal, because apparently mechanics in the States cost like 150 bucks an hour. But this guy said he'd do it for 65 bucks an hour, plus the parts underneath a new header pipe because the header is damaged. And the bolt is going to have to be drilled out, and it's right in the head. So if that works, then it's got flexed, and if it doesn't, then I'm going to need a new head as well. Not the cylinder or the piston or anything like that, just the head where the exhaust pipe bolts on. It looks like someone kicked it from the side and caused the bolt to snap off. Someone's holding the tailpipe on, or you're holding the header pipe on. And yeah, it's mostly just finances, man. I'll get it done eventually, but unfortunately in the summer riding season I'll probably be gone by that time. So it's frustrating. And where my quad is parked in the driveway is just outside the viewing distance of our security cameras. I wasn't even able to find it if and when it was done. I know it's sometime in the last two months, but frustrating nonetheless. I have a severe vision problem, so stuff like that I just can't work on myself. I wish I had someone nearby that knew how to do this stuff because it would be an overly huge job. Anyway, back over to you, Eric. And Roy, I was wondering, since you're into astronomy, but it's your turn, maybe you can let us know what's going on with the sunspots and coronal mass ejections, because, oh, and whether it has anything to do with the earthquakes. Maybe that's a good subject for you. Anyway, Larry from KI7PKR, good morning to you, sir. Victor, Echo 4, Jen, was in there too, and what was in there? Don't forget us. I don't know if I'm going to get in or not. I'm getting kind of frustrated here. They're trying to get in several different times. I couldn't get my computer to transmit. And naturally, I don't have anything in RF to back it up because we don't have any internet at all that are safe for the review. So anyway, yesterday was the most terrible day, I'll tell you. I was out mixing concrete to try to alleviate some water between my house and a shelter I got out back, because it runs downhill and would get about three or four inches of water there and eventually get in the basement. So I mixed up about six minutes of concrete over the period of yesterday afternoon and evening, and watched the weather and everything, and they didn't say anything about maybe some showers or something later on. But I went out there and then was going to pull up some of the forms so I could do the rest of it, and it started sprinkling rain. So I put some parts over it, but we had some much rain. I got three inches in my rain gauge out front, and it was coming in everywhere in the house. And I went and looked down in my basement, and there was water about an inch on my floor. And just on and on and on. And very disgusted with all that. So I happened to go out to see whether that water ruined my concrete or not. I'm almost afraid to look. But that's way too hot to mix that stuff to start with, and all that work going down the drain is irritating. So with that, back to you Robert. I see you've got some hurricane weather coming in around you, so I hope you don't have that kind of stuff either. So with that, thank you Robert. I'm going to call for a second. Well I am so sorry for your frustration my friend. I could only imagine what you're talking through. And yeah, take a couple of deep breaths, and you know what they say, this too will pass. But an inch on the floor, that's never good. That's never good. Man oh man. And six bags of concrete, right? Hopefully that's not a watery mess. And hopefully it's not all replaced. But you know, it's only water, so hopefully it didn't spread everywhere. But if it stayed where it's supposed to, it'll eventually dry up. Hopefully. Now you take care. And we're going to move down this busy list to K6TKR, the talker. I don't know where I came up with that demonic. And it really does exist. You're a talker, but you don't over talk. Here, I'm going to get myself in trouble. Dig myself a hole, right? Anyway, what do they say? That brevity is a solid, solid wood. And I'm going to shut up here and welcome in Glenn from Irvine, California. Good morning Glenn. Good morning Robert, everybody else on the net. Well it's always a pleasure Robert, no matter what my name is. But generally I don't have a lot to say. It's just the way it's been through life. But anyway, I'll take whatever I get here. Just enjoy being on your net here. Well yesterday was pretty much a yard work day. Fortunately we had a lot of overcast. But as soon as that broke, which was about 2 o'clock, it just got hot and humid. I had to call it a day and take it all inside. And so you know we sit around in the heat. And my son said, well let's go down to Dave and Buster's. And so we went down and played a bunch of the games that they have there and just had a ball. So that was kind of nice because he's getting ready to head back to college here real quick. So today, I'm going to have another home day. I'm putting in some soft clothes, hinges on my wife's kitchen doors. And I started that earlier but it's a lot of laying on the floor and kind of bending at 90 degrees. It's a lot like plumbing, getting in there and replacing those hinges. So I took a break. And so I'll get back at it today and hopefully I can get that project finished. We'll see what happens. But anyway, that's all we have here from the doctor in Irvine, K-60, K-R, back to net. This is Chris from the Old Kilo Church. Oh, I'm glad you got us here. Especially with putting in those soft clothes hinges. Man, I've got those on my kitchen cabinets and the drawers, all the drawers. And it just makes life so much easier. And I have those on the toilet seats as well. But not in cabinets. But anyway, sometimes I talk too much. It reminds me of a song. You talk too much. No, never mind. You show them off, Mr. Terry gives up the next good morning to you, sir. JB2RQ, I don't hear about the Echo 7, Mark Romeo. The water sponges I heard about in your undisclosed location must have gone on last over there. I heard they're all under the other nest. I'm not going to go anywhere. Enjoying my new project with those dark raging ghosts where they blow up and work with the circulation. Enjoying that stuff by me from the VA. Probably waiting until Friday to put it back in the queue again so maybe I don't have to call for much. I don't know. Looks like we've got sunshine coming in. Let's see if there's a window behind. I'm having a hard time. I'm having a hard time. I'll give it back to Mark so I can get on with it. I'll have the Echo 7, Mark Romeo, back to JB2RQ. You're good on you. All right. Well, good morning to you, Terry. And make sure those vibrating boots. The water spout. I saw a video about it was unbelievable. It was a little water spout but people didn't notice it as they were at the surf. But it was really funny because the spout was invisible almost. It washed ashore and blew all kinds of stuff away. People were shocked by what they saw. They had umbrellas flying down the beach and all kinds of stuff. And yeah, hurricanes or tornadoes can blow over the water spouts. We've got hurricanes coming this way. That's what you have. That's what you live with when you live in paradise. So anyway, I thought this was enough from me. Let's see if Fred had anything to say. I know he was... I think he was in and out but let's check him out. I didn't know if I was too far up here. Alright, come on in slowly, phonetically and twice if you'd like to check in. So thank you for that, Bill. We are at the bottom of the list, so we will take one more call for check-ins. Anyone, anywhere that wants to get in on the cow's longanette this morning, this is your opportunity, so please come forward with your call sign now. Alpha, Echo 7, Nica Helmyo. You didn't hear Scooter barking this morning, because I get up at 4 o'clock every morning and go to work. So he's on my schedule. I am in charge of all medicine and all feeding. And that way, we don't get confused in the household. We don't need a checklist or anything. So yeah, with me getting up at 4 o'clock in the morning and feeding him around 4 10, 4 15, he's got his biological clock going. And he woke me up. And right now, he's sitting there. And I can't tell if he's sleeping. There's a new thing going on. And he's hard of hearing. And his eyesight's not good. And he's really old. So I don't know, because he's going to be 18. I don't know if he's actually sleeping or resting. But sometimes we think he sleeps with his eyes open now. So we're not sure. But he's laying there. His eye is open. And we're actually treating his eyes for dry eye. So anyway, 73, have a great night. I mean, great day. This is K9 TFD. And I'll be clear. K9 TFD KM1X. Have yourself a great weekend. And we will talk to you soon. Go ahead. Keep getting better. Keep getting stronger. And enjoy the bike. Who's next? D. D KN4LBF. Final comments from you this morning, D. This is KN4LBF. This is D. No, no. I'm just going to go head out and do a couple of things around the house. It's not too hot out here. It's like a little below 90 right now. It's going to hit a little over 90 later. So I'm about to get some stuff now. There's a space between my fence and another person's fence. And a lot of weed is growing in this small space. And I want to get a weed chopper back there and get it done and spray some stuff or keep it under control. So that's what I'm thinking about doing today. Maybe more, maybe tomorrow. I don't know. Anyway, 73s and clear. Back to the net. All right, KN4LBF KM1X, you have a great weekend. Now we'll go to Ben. VE3FDX. Final comments from you today, sir. KM1X versus VE3FDX. Just thanks for doing the net, kid. It's been a great day. The depression was amazing. And hopefully I'll be back and see everybody tomorrow. Sounds good. I think that the Sunday, Gray is right, the Sunday nets are so informal and relaxed that you can come, talk for a couple minutes, leave, or stay for the whole thing or whatever. It's very relaxed. And I kind of like that. N9, OSU, Bill. Your turn. Final comments. All right, thank you, sir. And just getting ready to start the day here. Sort of eating. But I did clean up all the poop in the backyard. And now I'm cleaning up myself. So I will say 73, catch everybody out here, tomorrow morning on the cloud above my net. And this is N9, OP, saying so long. All right. If there's water, I can't see. How many years? Turn us around. All right. OK, OK, OK. Let's see, who's next? Who is now Ms. Kateri? Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo. Final comments, Terry. Alpha Echo 7, Mike Romeo. Where a JKL, if he was his own match as a young lady, I was married to her, he wouldn't be here. I can guarantee you. She was cooking, and she put her hand in the knife for her. I had to risk that and tweak her on the feathers. I walked by her, and one of the brothers I walked by her, when I looked down, there was a shirt track in my belly. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Yeah, yeah. You wouldn't have messed around with that Cha Cha Jerky girl, I'll tell you that. That's what that girl was. She is and was a good kid. But when they don't trust you, they got to turn them loose. Anyway, not a lot else going on here. I think it looks like we might actually be on our house in the sunshine. Looks like it's going to be 87 degrees by 5 o'clock today. And the rains are still in the Oregon area. Hopefully we don't have any there. Oh, that's another thing. The fallout in Oak Ridge is almost contained. I think it was probably started by the railroad 87MR back to the group. Have a great radio day. 87MR out. 87MR KM1X, you have yourself a great day too, Terry. Thank you for joining us this morning. And now we'll go down to WA6 ABC for final comments. KM1X from WA6 ABC. Well, thank you for including me in on today's festivities. Appreciate it. Glad I got in at the end. And nice hearing from the people that I did hear from. And always lovely. Always lovely whenever I come. So nice to hear everybody. And I guess we'll just close it down there. Going to take care of some cats. I got to jump in the shower. Got done with my work. Got a few bits of paperwork to handle here. Should be an OK day. Thanks very much. Off to work. And nice to hear everybody. Hopefully I'll be able to come in tomorrow and listen to the Sunday news. From WA6 ABC, Mike Linn, Rockaway Beach. God bless everybody. Not a lot going on here. And the question is, Bill, yes, I have swimming without my clothes on. We have a place called Kissing Springs. It now belongs to the Boy Scouts. It used to belong to Pope and Talbot. They had six little motel rooms up there so that they could have a stay-at-home getaway. Have a nice pool. And it was heated by the Kissing Hot Springs. And all of a sudden you hear, I got my rock salt in my shotgun. So you get out of the water and you grab your clothes and you go a little bit, put a leg in a hole, go a little bit, put another leg in a hole, go a little bit, put your pant leg on, go a little bit, put your other pant leg on. And by the time you got back to the car sprinting, you were dressed again. Best place in the world, but unfortunately somebody got murdered up there so they could take a quarter stick of dynamite and blow the darn thing up, which is sad. But it is what it is when it's gone, that's for sure. There's not a lot of else going on here. I said why you would buy yesterday, we've got some projects to extend the loops on my moon maker here. I'm trying to think. And yeah, let's see, N7ATX says I'm one of the best echo linkers that he knows up here in Turner, up north of us here.
