"text": "And so I bought the record and I've been wanting for a while and I've seen it, you know here in the States Here in there, but I've always wanted it a little bit kind of out of my price range But I was in go and it was a thousand yen, which is like seven bucks so I bought it and It's one of those records where it's not like it's not like a big band jazz record it's It's pretty much just like the trumpet a bass and some drums music that the songs the composition It just it's haunting. It's the only way I can describe it. It just grabs your soul and just kind of takes it for this like very film noir ride and I love the record so much. I've been playing it ever since it started raining here in Seattle and I only play it when it's raining. There are certain records I have that I only play when it rains. As much as I am a Miles Davis fanatic, I'm also a Slayer fan. I love Slayer, which I can't do this on the radio, but usually when you say the word Slayer, you have to scream it. Slayer! That's probably not even doing it justice. Those records you have to play at like midnight. You have to wake people up when you play those records. My wife loves it. She absolutely loves it. She's rolling her eyes right now in the background. But yeah, so anyway, listening to the rain, listening to Miles Davis, and rambling on RF, which is a very wonderful thing to do. I really love being a part of this community, and I love all of you who are a part of it. I love Seattle. Oh my gosh. I've been around ever since I got my ham radio license. I've been all over the place trying to like talk to people and Seattle is like the most ham radio friendly Place I've been so far. So it's awesome to live here Anyway with that I'll be quiet setting positive vibes Kk7 fkb Good night"

But now, Madeline hooked me up with a Meshcore device, and I have it here at my QTH and university place broadcasting. It's just sitting there in a little window just trying its best. So yeah, but it's fun. I'm not great at keeping up with it, but I try and check in with my little mesh core at least once a day, usually at the end of the day. But yeah, it's fun. But yeah, I had a really good Thanksgiving. I made a bunch of vegetable dishes for my sister and family. We went to a friend's house for Thanksgiving and so I made a bunch of vegetable dishes for them to bring because it was a potluck style Thanksgiving. But I went to my friend Elizabeth's house who lived in Kirkland and had Thanksgiving with her family. We did like a Chinese food from a vegan Chinese restaurant in Bellevue and watched movies. We started on a Christmas movie marathon of sorts and threw in a little Adam's Family Values for the Thanksgiving. yeah I've had a great week Leo's had off it was his sixth birthday on Tuesday the 26th I think that was Tuesday Wednesday maybe no it was Wednesday Wednesday was his birthday and yeah it's been a good week I love spending time with I love spending time with my little guy but um Yeah, and my mom's here. My mom decided last minute to come up from Louisiana. She had been in Costa Rica for a while, which is where she's from. She took my brother to Costa Rica and then they reset. Yeah, so she and my brother went to Costa Rica and then when she got back to Louisiana she wasn't feeling it so she just decided to come up here she got back on a plane and came right up here to Washington so she's gonna hang out with us for a little while and yeah it's nice to have her we've just been hanging out just you know just hanging out low-key you know we don't need yeah we don't need much, but just each other. So anyway, well, thank you so much for hosting the Netville. I love that you just indulged. You had a day of indulgence and everybody. 73 to Amy and all the YLs and 73 and 88 everybody. KK7IJZ."

"text": "Thank you for that, Skipper. All right, enjoy your afternoon. Sounds like you're taking it easy. And it's one of those days, a little gray, a little cool, maybe a raindrop here and there. Thank you for your check-in. Well, let's go ahead and do a couple of events. What's on the calendar here? So coming up at 8 o'clock tonight, every Saturday, is the SimplexNet on 146.560, Simplex, of course. And for any stations in the greater Seattle area, we're talking Everett all the way up to down to Tacoma. Most stations in the general area can get in on the SimplexNet. It's a great way to sharpen your Simplex skills, test your gear, connect with fellow hams without the help of a repeater. And all licensed camps are welcome. It starts at 8 o'clock. And it's kind of a alphabetical order. They take like A through D and so forth in groups. And as I'm at Zulu, I'm always in the last group. And they say, OK, call signs W through Zulu or any other stations, and all these other stations that haven't had a chance to check in yet kind of get in there. So they don't just give me my own little group, but anyway, that's the way that goes. But it's very interesting, and you can see, you can log who you can hear, and it's a good chance that they can hear you on the back side, and also after the net, there is, I think Jack puts it up on the Facebook page, the logs of the stations that are getting the reports so that you can see what your signal was into the various stations that participating anyway if I described that wrong I think you got the idea 101 46.5 60 tonight 8 o'clock and let's see what else is going on"

When I research stuff, I look at the local newspapers and find out what people are actually saying. That puts out a lot of fires. The National News likes to make stories bigger than they actually are, and so that's a good time to go check the Portland Press Herald or something like that and find out what's really going on because they're on the ground. It's nice when we have hams on the ground too. All right, I'm going to do another call for check-ins, and then Daryl suggested a question to me, and we're going to deal with that. One more round before the sign-on round. If you'd like to get in on the conversation on the Monday morning edition of the Calabunga Net Monday, October 27th, come now with your call sign. And we won this time. So we lost two games, got one game. When it came to saying anything else, I think it's pointless. I hear a lot of facts that are skewed. I don't really believe you can trust the United States government for the honest truth. Nor can you trust Israel. I think that some of the stuff I heard is outrageous, actually. "text": " Good morning. And you know what I heard? I heard we don't want them. I also heard that, and I don't know what to believe and not what to believe, but our great governor, future candidate for president who brought our state out of, we were in bad, bad shape. What happened was years ago, Illinois state workers had just such a lucrative, lucrative pension that it was killing our state. And we're waiting for all these people to die off. I mean, my cousin, she retired I think at, I don't know, 50 or 55. And she's got a good solid six figure income from our state. And good for her, she's my cousin. But I want her to keep hers, but all these other people, they're slowly dying off. But our governor was able to bring our state back into a budget. But anyway, yeah, there's, it's really, you know, there's stuff going on. You know, we have crime less than we used to have, and violence less than we used to have. And what this means is they're going to create problems. And they're going to do, a lot of those people that they're bringing in are not good people, especially the ones that have to wear a mask on their face so they're not recognized, those people. So we're hoping that that doesn't happen. So we're just at our place. We had a company over the other day, they spent the night. And we had a good time. We saw a friend of ours that we haven't seen, his band was playing here. And we haven't talked to him in over 20 years, probably closer to 25. So I told him, I said, you got to come out this weekend. So lo and behold, when we went over there, and we're looking for him before the music started, and he was out somewhere getting some food. Couldn't find him. But on break, we were able to talk to him and, you know, just do some reminiscence. So beautiful weather out here, very comfortable. Scooter just got fed and I'm looking to make some coffee. Yesterday he doesn't see too good or hear too good. And yesterday he rolled down the stairs. But he is a Shih Tzu and they're the most durable of the toy breed. So he's okay. And what else? His birthday is coming up. He's going to be 18 on September 26. So just at the end of the month here. So we're excited about him turning 18. So anyway, back to you, great canine PFD."
