If I'm the one playing it, I don't mind it. It's like I'll play a scatter game of basketball on a console. Or hockey. Hockey's my favorite. And hockey's my favorite sport overall as well. Man, I tell you, I woke up this morning and I just feel warm. I'm overheated is what it is. And I feel really dehydrated. And I've been drinking a lot of water. And I'm probably drinking too much water. And the water is starting to feel weird in my stomach, but I've got to drink it because I feel really warm. And really overheated. I don't know what to do about this. Because I don't feel well here this morning. I'm going to get some ginger ale. That's what I'm going to do. I should have picked one up while I was at the store. Ginger ale always makes me feel better for some reason. I think it's the ginger root. Ron, AA-4-H-O. You're up, man. Okay, Daryl. I find myself doing the research that you don't actually do. And you just, whatever you like and want to hear you repeat. You know, I hear I have White House strongly criticized South Park, the fourth great show. And it wasn't relevant for decades. You know, it was aired. The reason why he has all the support he does is because we see through the lies when they're presented. And it's just to be presented to criticize them. You know, what he did years ago, two decades ago, he said on a hot mic that wasn't meant for anybody else to hear except the person he was talking to. It doesn't have any relevance today. Besides, if you want to find something else. But all this other stuff is just what they call stuff that comes down in the wash. And there's going to be more coming out, which said about him. But there is criminality associated to it. Wheels of justice move slowly. Justice is not going to come out too fast. Let's see, I posted on my friend's timeline on Facebook if you still had that picture of Hulk Hogan when I was with him. I discouraged him and this other girl that was there from doing that. I'm an employee. I don't regret it. You know, my role is not to interact with celebrities because there's a lot of them around there. And that came up again when I was working for Hard Rock. And I had to deal with them. You know, you just have to deal with them like any other guest or customer or just somebody you might run into. But they said, no, no, we're going to go. So fine. That's up to you. I can't encourage you to do that. And they went and they got that picture. But it's nice. I can maybe see it. See the picture if he still has it. Let's see. You know, it's more you would have to fire somebody that maybe I might have said I might go into a meeting and then have it like before the day I delivered the final crew to cry. They're like, well, I know that you're responsible and I know better for next time. You know that. Well, you know, you're going to be extended. But you know, if it happens again, and if they do end up getting fired, like my second wife got laid off, you know, they get severance. If they're up retirement age, they can take early retirement. You get cobra if you're going to lose your health care. And that's pretty good. My wife had to use cobra. I know because I had to make the pain or her out of pocket for her and everything when she went into surgery after she was laid off. And that worked out really good for her. A lot of people criticize cobra, but I see it work. And if you come in over budget on something or under budget, you know, a manager gets so much money and he has to do everything that he's ordered to do. And if he runs out of money, they'll be finding somebody else. So you have to come in right at budget. But sometimes everything works out. You come in under budget. It's up to the manager to figure out what is something good to use the extra money for. And, you know, maybe after what Santa Mel was saying, you know, when they didn't end up using those two trailers and they auctioned them, maybe they auctioned them because they found they could use the money for something good that they didn't know about at the time. But it's not very cost efficient. You've got to remember it was to without money anyway. That makes sense. Just someone out there. I would stop. They didn't go crazy. They just strongly criticized it. I don't know what you're saying. Crazy. You jumped up and down at things across the room. I don't know. Hey, for each other. Back to you there. I find it interesting, Ron, that you think I don't do research. I actually look into stuff quite a bit. Quite a bit. That's how my arguments out here stay relevant. To everyone it seems except yourself. Maybe a couple more who are less outspoken about correcting people, I want to say. But that research that you just gave us, that sounds like it was quoted from the tweet that was released by the White House. I think your research sources do a little better than Twitter, my friend. That's almost verbatim of what was released on the tweet from the official White House account. I believe yesterday or the day before. Ron, I'm starting to believe, man, that you've been severely indoctrinated into this cult of the orange menace. I'm really starting to think that Trump could walk out of the White House and open fire on a group of children and you would have a reason why he did it and how he's not a bad guy for doing it. It really blows my mind, I've got to say. I've never seen someone so literally brainwashed by the whole Trump phenomenon in all my days. It's kind of an anomaly, really. I'm not kidding, I bet the guy could walk out of the White House with no pants on, waving his thing around the White House lawn, and you'd be like, oh yeah, well he had a bead in his underwear, he couldn't help it. I don't know, man. He's your own, but I feel bad that the rest of us are living in the world and you're just really, really hung up on defending Trump. I don't know, man. I feel bad for you though, over it. I do. I got to honestly say. It's, uh, man oh man, I just wonder what the Kool-Aid tasted like. K-M-6-U-I-Z, John. You're up, man."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-07-25T07:21:22+00:00","id":9857,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":9856,"text":" I appreciate the vote of confidence, man. But I've dealt with very strongly opinionated people before. And I'm quite used to it. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions. And that includes everybody out here. And I'll never begrudge anyone for their opinion. But that's how it is, is opinions. And like you say, I bet, like you say, Trump could come out of the White House and just start shooting. And everybody would say he did it in self-defense. So, well, not everybody, but certain people would say. He did it in self-defense, even if it was some girl selling some Girl Scout cookies or something. He thought that the sugar in the cookies was going to be a threat or something. But nah, I'm just playing. You know, nah, people are the way they are, man. You're not going to change it. I don't try to change it. I embrace it. Everybody having their own opinions is what makes this whole party that we do everyday work. And if everybody has the same opinion, there'd be no controversy. There'd be no diversity. There'd be none of that. So I'm all for people with their own opinions. A-ron, A-A-4-H-O. It's all you, man. W-0-T-O with a comment when I have time. Best time to be able to do that was when after the station that's currently being called. Never, never, never when the control is calling on the station. Just a reminder, I know Gray has been over that a couple times too, because Gray gets frustrated when that happens. So I'm trying to keep the status quo here. We'll pick you up after a round, Alan. A-A-4-H-O. You're up, man. Go ahead. This is repeater station. I think y'all heard. So there's a couple questions. And yeah, I am looking now at primarily attending this news interest engaging in diplomatic meetings. He is going to meet with the prime minister. So to say that he's just going there for his golf courses is just misinformation reporting propaganda from what other people have reported. And I see that a lot on here. And that's why I go on to, well, from my point of view, I am looking directly into the House of Representatives, the Senate, the White House, all of the executive branch. All of their oversight committees. I mean, I'm watching them live. So I'm getting the news at the same time that all the media outlets are getting it. So when I hear what you're saying, what some people are saying about things, it's not what really happened. I mean, I was listening to it at the time. So it's just, you know. And a word about golf. Our fate, our fate, yours and mine, have been decided in a golf course before. Trump is very efficient. People do business on golf courts during golf games. That's one real great aspect about golf. You later go and talk about what decisions you made and if they were the right ones or not. And there's nothing wrong with that. But to check on his golf courses is just not a valid reason why he's going to Scotland. And to listen to your comedians, you know, I mean, satire is also known as the beast in man. And I mean, that's like fourth and fifth hand information you're getting there, you know, just to be comical and just push a political agenda. A lot of people subscribe to that. You know, a lot of people that subscribe to that don't even know if they have opinions, you know. AA4HL, Ron Miram, everybody have a nice weekend. See you tomorrow. And next week is going to be a whopper for the stock market with all these earnings, the big names report. And I was actually thinking it's 8.40 and I probably need to start doing things for work. I'm actually working as I'm doing this now. We had something pop up at 6.34 this morning and I just got an email about it. And so it's going to take a few minutes of my time and stuff and I'm actually halfway done fixing it. It's funny how that happens, isn't it? Like, not 6.34 this morning. I'm not even sure how the rate goes. My wife's link size is about 6.3k on top of the net. I'm not sure what normal work stuff. So there's nothing that I have done on my side that would change anything. It's just great. I got one of the good ones. Anyhow, so yeah, we're going to start 73 rounds and we'll go up to the top. AA-4-H-O. 73 rounds. We'll start with you, sir. Okay, very good. Interesting question. I see and hear a lot of people, you know, say that they don't like the way this is being run, but it's not run like that anymore and they haven't heard or transitioned over to the way it is now. A good question I heard being asked was, what do you think is a scam? Maybe that would be a good question asked on here someday. One of the people answered that they thought Bitcoin was a scam. Right, great. I've said that myself. You know, it's always the last person that bought into it. This is repeated. Let me shut off this other one. Okay. The face that those people have in it that maybe someday it might become an actual useful currency, you know, played a factor in it. You know, probably most people that put their money towards it actually, you know, just wanted to make money because it kept raising in value. Basically, yeah, it was. And it was a good way for criminals to get big transactions that, you know, couldn't be detected and stuff. But now that's all been changed recently. Yet you'll still hear a lot of people, you know, say, well, you know, it's not a good thing. It's going to be used as a currency. Its value is probably going to be moving like gold, which if gold is up, so does Bitcoin. It's not going to be good for people like us. It's only going to be good for people that make enormously large transactions, like between, you know, large corporations or between governments and stuff. If it catches on, which, you know, it's being pushed to catch on. So it probably will. So right now Bitcoin is probably as good an investment as gold. But you'll still get your people who will say differently because they don't even, they didn't even know that it's going to be used for that. And being promoted for it to be an actual valid currency that you can make an investment in because corporations, corporations or between governments are going to be using that. And, you know, there's only a certain amount of Bitcoin, but it goes where a smaller amount is worth more and you can go infinitely in that direction. So who knows, maybe one Bitcoin could be worth a million dollars, like Cathy Woods says. I don't know if that's going to be the case. She saw something in it. You know, I never did until recently. So I think that is an answer that somebody should give if you're asked, what do you think is a scam? And this is an example I'm using for a lot of other things I've heard even today. It won't be the same. Changes that have been undertaken that basically is not valid, like Bitcoin and a scam. Looking into the future. Yeah, not very far in the future. I think it's already taken place because Bitcoin is trading like gold. And the only good thing about gold, it's not that it's a jewelry or we're going to be using it more for electronics. The big thing about gold and why it fluctuates is because it's a currency. All right. So that's my take on that. And everybody have a nice day. I can't believe it's Thursday already, but I'm glad it is. So see everybody tomorrow, Friday into the week for each year. Rock, paper, paper. But it made me wonder, how do you define barbecue? What is barbecue to you? And everybody has their own. And if you're from Texas, maybe you have the same idea about what barbecue is. Or maybe you don't. So I would like to go through and find out what everybody thinks about that. Ron, A-A-4-H-O. How do you define barbecue? It's gonna make you hard to want to do anything this afternoon, so the chicken coop's probably out till tomorrow. I did start the chicken coop this morning, like I said, I was gonna work on it throughout the night. Uh, no, I started, I've been working on it, but I've worked some more on it. However, I got it, I got all the tools uncovered, uh, you know, I keep a top of them out there, so it's, it's just about the four weeks or so. Um, anyhow, I got everything uncovered, made a couple of cuts, got a couple of studs put in, and it started to rain. And it's been really raining pretty much, also not in ever since. So that's, that's nice. Uh, the rain this time of the year, at any time of the day, uh, is really a blessing. Uh, so, uh, yeah, gotta stay inside hot and humid is not my friend. Uh, great nap today. Great, I thought the questions were on point. Uh, food, I like food, so we can talk about food at any time. Uh, with that, I do hope you all have a great Monday. Uh, and if it's a hard Monday, just remember, it will come to an end, and tomorrow we'll, uh, bring a new day. With that, KJ5-IOQ sends it back to neck control. 70 degrees. How about you, KZ? You graded my last get through. Yeah, um, wait a second, KJ5-IOQ, this is KC2PKG, uh, thanks for joining us this morning, Josh, we hope to hear you more throughout the week. Uh, Del, yes, most of yours got in and just cut out at the very end. Wished it's all 73s and then it went silent. Um, do you want, do you have other things to say? Take your chance right now. Uh, no, that's probably it, man, just wish Josh a happy birthday there toward the end, and, uh, told everyone to stick around for the worldwide friendship net. As long as you got all of that stuff, my transmission pretty much got through. Uh, VL1-UKZ, have a great day. Alright, VL1-UKZ, this is KC2PKG talking to you again tomorrow. Um, Ron, AA4-HO, it's the 73 round, do you have any final thoughts for us? Over to you, Ron, AA4-HO, this is KC2PKG. Yeah, I agree that, uh, what I've repaired or restored, that was, uh, an interesting question, because that's basically, uh, one of the strengths I have and what I like to do. And I, I have some stuff here, I gotta put a little tiny, uh, RC motor in to get that working again. But it doesn't do what, uh, the others to buy a brand new one do. It does, uh, cause I looked, even though I only pay for it with the price of this motor going in. But it's kind of a laser light and it shoots a star burst out of five little stars and then it comes back to the star and then it re- does the cycle. Uh, but none of the other newer ones do that. They'll just, uh, flicker a little. So, uh, maybe it's worth, you know, spending the extra money. I already had it apart and I know, uh, I could have it, uh, working the way it did when it was due. So I'm looking at that, uh, on, uh, uh, like real soon. I might order the parts today. It'll come, it'll be here in a couple of days. And I do like the wealth and I enjoyed sharing all of the, uh, different ways that I make it. Uh, explaining what common sense means. That, you're right, it could be used as an insult grade. So I tried to be a little careful there. Uh, though, uh, people, you know, tend to get, uh, you know, real sensitive. But I think I bled out that, um, in order to have common sense, you know, you really do need to know the material. Uh, that, uh, you're gonna make a decision with if you're gonna, uh, make the right choice or the right decision when you're doing something. And it's not good always to just rely on common sense. And, uh, we had fun with that game too today. So, uh, all around it was a great next up with a lot of different activities. I look forward to seeing everybody tomorrow. Great. You have a nice day. This is Ron AA-4-HO near Muff, Florida back to you, net control. Ron, you have a great day too. This is KC-2-PKG and that was AA-4-HO. And now we're gonna go to Chuck, AA-4-HI. Like share, explanation or lie on common sense. That was good. Um, any final thoughts? 73 round Chuck, take it away. Hey, Clay. Enjoy it. And, um, yeah. That's true. I guess, uh, sometimes people use that remark to tear down other people instead of working on themselves, you know. Uh, if we do something all the time, we're good at that thing, aren't we? But, uh, some people really are good at almost everything they do. They can figure things out. And, uh, those are amazing people. Well, you enjoyed the net. Nice to be in here again. And, um, hope you have a great day, everybody else. And, um, enjoy the cold weather while it lasts down here. And it loves humidity. Uh, 73 AA-4-HI. AA-4-HI. We're gonna have a nice, uh, a nicer, cooler, drier, uh, week this week. We've had quite a while. So, I'm looking forward to that as we get started here. Gary, MM-0-RKN. Um, I also like your, your, uh, mom's comment about common sense in the milk in the refrigerator. That was interesting. Uh, it's a 73 round. Do you have any final thoughts for us, Gary? MM-0-RKN. Yeah, Gary, it was my grandmother. In said, what, she's no longer with us? But, um, two of your questions, the Meatworlf one and the Coronavirus M1. Made me think back to those days when I used to have her every day just after school and, uh, they were happy to. But, um, she was just from the hip. I should tell you how it was, you know there was no, you know, coating it in ice or anything like that. She used to tell it as it was, so there we go. And yeah, I really enjoyed the net today as well. They're great, it's been great and blessing everybody's answers too. And I look forward to hearing again next week in exchange, even though politics questions. Anyway, have a good day everyone, 73 and hopefully catch you all again tomorrow. M-M-0-R-K-N, Black Connect Control, oh and happy birthday Josh! ...perceptions of foods and kinds of food and I think that is very central to being human I believe. And I'll tell you who I got. We got W0GL, thank you for checking in, Alan. You were one and done. Darryl VL1UKZ, I can't wait to hear why you were up all night. MD KN4LBF and Josh KJ5IRQ and Ron AA4HO. What's gonna do for us? Like, you didn't get any sleep at all last night? Your sleep schedule must have really messed up. What's going on with you? This is KC2PKG, over to you, VL1UKZ. Well, it all started yesterday afternoon. Bodies started showing up left, right, and center at my neighbor's house next door. So I figured it was his wake. And so I dropped by to extend my sympathies and whatnot to his sisters and mom and stepfather and stuff. And I ended up sticking around over there for a few hours, just talking to everybody. I was running into people that I hadn't seen in, Jesus, decades, man. Anyway, I ran into a friend of mine, and I hadn't seen her since, Jesus, since a year or two after high school, maybe. And we got to talking for most of the evening. And then she dropped over here, and we were having a chat and smoking a few and watching TV and a few other things and whatnot. And just ended up up till like the middle of, well, seven o'clock this morning, I think she went home, something like that. So I was just up all night, man. And so yeah, I'll end up catching a few hours later this afternoon or something like that. I ain't got much on the go today. So it was no big deal. But yeah, I figured, man, there was bodies. There was like 50 or 60 people there, I'd say, easily. And bodies were... Ha ha ha ha ha! Oh, Chuck. Man, oh man, he's a smart guy, that Chuck. Yeah, so ended up hanging out all night, and here we are. Then I got on the radio about an hour and a half ago, and I'd just been chatting with George and Brian and Ron jumped in there just toward the end. So yeah, I'd just been awake all night, man. You know, nothing wrong catastrophically or anything like that. So yeah, back over to you, man. V01, UKZ, this is KC2PKG. Well, that's a nice story for a change. When you said all these bodies showing up next door, I was like, uh oh, what is that about? All right, VE1WIN, Peter. What is going on with you? How was your weekend, Peter? What are your plans? Good morning everyone I'm grateful to be up this morning gave my praises and here I am I want to tell you I knew well my husband was sick So this morning I took a COVID test and apparently I have COVID so Sometime this morning. I have to head over to urgent care to get the antibiotics because of my age and Other issues, I believe I should get the Antibiotic and stuff but um, otherwise, I feel great I don't as you know, I have to easily isolate so I guess I'm not doing a thing this week Anyway, I'm in good cheer. I know You know, I feel good. So hey I'll give it back to you. This is KN4LDF back to gray KN4LDF This is KC2PKG. That's too bad But you know when you're exposed that close of course, you know COVID's the same disease that always was some people get a lot of symptoms some people don't get any at all Which makes it really hard to control, but I'm glad that you are You know taking the pains to isolate yourself a little bit and not pass it on apparently COVID is really rocking in Florida Right now you mentioned it Last week and I started looking it up And COVID's on a big resurgence So uh, I don't know, I'm up to date on my shots. In the meantime, we're going to go to the KN4LBF. J, what have you repaired or restored that you think you did a pretty good job on? It's over to you, D. This is KC2PKG. This is KN4LBF. This is D. It was something very simple, but I am proud of it. When my parents died, they had this Asian 3D face made of porcelain. It's about two feet long and one feet wide. And I'm looking at it. And through the years, it's about 75 years old right now, it looked like it needed a little uplift. So the figure on top hat is a female, and it had a crown on top of her head. And I repainted the crown gold and just her sleeve gold. And the retouch was amazing. It just made an amazing improvement how it looked. And I'm just looking at it right now. And I'm pretty proud of it. Back to you, Gray. This is KN4LBF. KN4LBF. This is KC2PKG. Porcelain. Have you repaired or restored porcelain? That sounds very hard. It really does. And the fact that you painted it and you're proud of it, that's great. That is great news. Josh, PJ5IRQ, what's something that you either repaired or restored that you're particularly proud of the job you did? This is KC2PKG. Open to you, Josh. PJ5IRQ. KC2PKG. This is KJ5 on cue. Something I would have had that I'm particularly proud of, oh, gosh, I remodeled a house before. That was pretty cool. I'd say I remodeled houses around here. And the houses are houses, I should especially clarify that. I've repaired a lot of things. KitchenAid. My wife loves the KitchenAid mixer. And all year after we bought our, I think it was our second one, it went out like the first one. I was getting really frustrated with it. So I did some digging around. And it's the brushings. I don't know why I didn't think about that with the first one. I fell a fool because I threw the first one away for like $20. I got to replace the brushings and kept the first one. I replaced the KitchenAid with some good brushings. And gosh, it's been years. And it's still working just fine. She uses it all the time. That was personally a good fix. KitchenAid mixes, you know the cream and galakop, at least that's what I was really concerned. There ain't no point in paying more money than that for something that does the same thing. Let's see. I do have a project coming up. As soon as it starts cooling off into the fall, rather I want to be outside all day every day. We have an old family bench. Joseph E. Ford built this bench. Not that y'all would know him, but he happened to be one of the first people in the Middle of Wales to open the store. And she's got to give you an idea how old this bench is. I have an actual picture of him in this last sitting on it. It is 1888. It's over the rock. It was my grandparents, of course. It got passed down to me. And it's an old, bad shape. I mean, it is a bad shape. But we're going to look into repairing it. I want to keep it as original as possible with as much wood as possible. So I may end up using clear epoxy or something to fill in some voids. But the idea is to bring it back to a shade of a swirly void. I can't tell you how many seeds of the fence people in my family have sat in that bench over the years. I mean, if some of them could tell a story, wouldn't you love to sit and have that word pour out the stories since, at least in my family since the late 1880s? Man, talk about an explosion of lighting ideas. Anyhow, yeah, so that's coming up. That bench, I'm really excited about it. The only thing I don't know is who gets it after me. I've got two boys and a daughter. And it's always stayed with somebody with a last name before it. So I'm sure it will stay with my boys. And I sure it won. And so I'm going to see who ends up at the house in a safe place for it. And that's probably who will get it. Sorry, I had to reset for a second. I was running out of time. Anyhow, that's it. I'll send it back to you, KJ5. I'll help you back to KG2PKG. KJ5 IRQ, this is KG2PKG. A bench, a family bench. That sounds cool. That sounds cool. I'd love to see a picture of that. KI7ODD, I see you in the text box. You want to give it a shot now? Tell us how your weekend was. Maybe tell us about something you restored or repaired that you're particularly proud of. Over to you, KI7ODD. This is KG2PKG. This is better now. This is KI7ODD. KI2KC2PKG. I actually am thinking, let me think. Oh, yeah. I restored stuff before that. My squeaky here is my fan. It just squeaks, squeaks, squeaks. So don't worry about that. I should have read this text thing. Ah, never again. All right, I hope my audio's better. I'm sorry about earlier. It was my rig. I need a new one. I need a new rig. Gosh darn it. All right. What I did yesterday was I was thinking about beading, playing with my, getting my crafting done. I did some sewing last weekend, but this weekend I am going to go on and be at the Idaho State Convention for ham radio this year, which is going to be awesome. I hope I get the 7800 icon. I hope I get it. Just hopefully I can get it this time. I don't, I don't. I can't, I couldn't even sleep last night. Sorry about that interference earlier. All right, have a good day guys and gals. Okay, this is KI 7 ODD, Murray in Spokane, Washington. KI 7 ODD, I'm Murray. That's pretty good. That's pretty good. That, your audio sounded fine. That time it was perfect going through there. So I've got you on the list. We'll be hitting you again. And Steve, N0BF, I've got you on the list too. We're just going to keep working down the way we're doing it. DA 4 HO. Ron, is there something that you repaired that you are particularly proud of? So what do you do? A4 HO, this is KC 2. Yeah, you know, you might remember me talking about, you know, when I redid the bathroom and the shower, I put caulking and you're supposed to put silicone on it, and I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I put silicone on it. And I'm supposed to put silicone. And then I, you know, when it started leaking underneath, I had to get all of that out and redo it and put silicone in there. But that's really nice. You know, I got granite top on the, you know, the sink, new sink and toilet, completely new shower. And it's really nice. I did the water heater and the copper pipe I had left over, I made myself a UHF antenna that I use with my All Star Network. Whenever I'm on my mobile rig or HT and I'm on All Star, the signal goes through the antenna before you hear me on here if I was to do that. And I got one of those nano-VNA's to make sure, you know, it was resonant at the right frequency. That I needed it at. All kinds of things. The vehicle I drive now is new. The one before that, even though this was an upgrade, it had all of the features because I put in a lot of aftermarket stuff. The GPS I added and a whole mess of things. The side rails to step into it. Of that I do, but I didn't have to do that with this last vehicle I just bought. You know, because it came with it all. But I did install and put the automatic garage door opener in. And that I'm pretty proud of. It works really good. Now I just drive up to the house and I don't even go out the front door anymore when I take the car. You know, it's in and out through the garage. The door opens, pull the car in, door goes down, come in through the garage now. If I think about it, there's a lot of stuff. Except for the stuff, you know, I don't have the tools for it. I have to pay somebody to do it. AA4HO, Ron Nirma, Florida, back to you, Gray and Nick. AA4HO, this is KC2PKG. And it is all the something with the house. You know, I lived in a house in Morristown for 30 years. And I can't tell you how many weekends I spent either under the car or working on the house or cleaning up that yard. It was just endless, endless. I'm so glad to be out of that. Because I don't like any of that stuff. As it turns out, it's kind of fun to create things. It's kind of fun to repair places. But when you're doing it in all your free time, I built a car there. An Aztec 7 from FiberFab, which goes on a Volkswagen chassis. And that would best two years of my life. I'm never going to get back. I went to sleep, because it's fiberglass, I went to sleep crunchy every night. It was just terrible. My wife hated it. Alright, KN6UYZ. What have you repaired or restored that you're particularly proud of? Okay, John, this is KC2PKG. Over to you. KN6UYZ, thanks so much for having me as usual. Yeah, you know, in 1970 I bought a Corvette. And, you know, come around 1974 or 5, the car needed a great job. And so I decided to take care of it myself. And jacked up each tire individually at the house. And decided I'd grab a screwdriver and place it between the calipers and the rotors and pry the brakes apart so I could insert a new pad on all four wheels. Well, that worked great. Good job. Padded myself on the back. I took off in that car and next thing I know, I know, the brakes were pushing all the way to the floor. I had to have that car towed back to the dealership and it cost me $1500 in 1975 to have that brake job done properly. Apparently you're supposed to relieve the pressure in the system, in the brake fluid system because I didn't do that before pulling everything apart and losing the, and I blew the seals and all the pistons. And this is a dual caliper system. And it was very expensive. I don't know what $1500 in today's money might be, but it was a problem. So with the exception of not being proud about my brake job, yeah, that's one of my better jobs. Back in that K and 6 UYZ. K and 6 UYZ. Boy, that brought back memories. This is KC2, PKG. I used to always do my own brakes and all of that stuff. And what it leads to is you're driving down the highway two states away from your house and you're thinking to yourself, did I put that spring back in? In the left rear tire? Did I put that spring in? Those were my thoughts after working on my car almost every single time. I was like, I don't remember. And of course, the first brake takes three hours. And the second one takes two hours. Third one, you know, takes about an hour and a half and the fourth one is over so fast you can't remember if you put the spring in or not. It just gets better and better as you go around. Alright, AA-4HI. Chuck, what have you restored or repaired that you are particularly proud of? It's over to you Chuck, AA-4HI. This is KC2, PKG. This is repeater station key low. We had some heads up and some chairs and last night I had to figure that out. And it took a long time. A lot of winter to get on the fingers. It's just about all done. And I want to do it again now. I can understand why people charge so much to do it. You know, time and of course it's just too easy to work. But, um, you have to wear your guns, you know. It just takes a while to do things. Yeah, it is. Anything you're rushing through sometimes it's just not going to be the way you expected it. So, um, anyway, same with the old antennas I like to try out, to build. I mean, you just have to think about it, give it a shot. If not, repurpose it. But, uh, the chairs I think are the best thing where you're wrong. So, what I've done in handling them, they took a long time. They done, throughout the summer just working on them. You know, when she was out. So, uh, anyway, that would be it. Back on to you, AA4-HI. AA4-HI, this is KC2-PKG, Wicker work. That's weaving, weaving with Wicker. That is a big job, especially if you've never done it before. Because you have to figure out what the pattern is. And then kind of trace it back. And a lot of those things, as I remember, the Wicker is fastened with a wooden peg. You know, it goes in, you put the Wicker in the hole and then you pound it in a little piece of wood to hold it there. Yours may work differently, but the ones that I worked on, that's what you had to do. And you had to get that peg out first. Um, it's not specialized, but it is trying. It's very trying, I think. MM0RKN, Gary, when you repaired or restored, you think you did a pretty good job on. It's KC2-PKG over to MM0RKN. MM0RKN returning. Well, Gary, very frequently, I have to repair and restore Lego figures that have broken various Lego models. Cabs, trucks, DAF, radar, all sorts. So quite good at fixing those when they've been knocked over or accidentally dropped. So frequently, do not a bad job of getting them back together. But on another note, I really enjoy restoring Kenny Oak furniture. One thing that I did was an ottoman, many years ago, not enough. But it was one of these ottomans that would store, you know, bed sheets and that could be at the end of the bed. And it was very old, and it seemed better days, but I actually managed to sand it all down, repainted it all, then put a nice kind of fabric, soft cushion on top, and managed to turn that into a sort of storage box come window seat. So that was one of my things that I was quite pleased about in the past. But recently, not so much time really to do a lot of repairing and restoring. I was going to put it in front of my son's PC. He said that I had to play one of his games, and I couldn't get it fixed, so I basically had to do a complete refresh of his laptop. I think he's overloaded it with too many DLCs. So we're going to go back to the start again. So yeah, I'm repairing that. Hopefully I'll do a good job. MM0RK in. Back to you there, Gray in the net. MM0RK in. This is KC2PKG. That's what I used to do for a living. Put people's workstations back together. After they just put something dumb on it, or they had a problem of some kind or another, reallocating memory, and all of that stuff. I'm glad I don't do that anymore. I really am. Alright. Bill, N9OFU, what have you repaired or restored? Do you think you did a pretty good job on it? Over to you, Bill. N9OFU. This is KC2PKG. Alright, I've been trying to think, trying to think, trying to think. And most of the things I'm coming up with is just, you know, things I've put together, you know, like furniture, you know. I love Ikea. Some of that's been pretty intricate when you get into some of these. I'm trying to think. Like the, well the cabinets, I don't know if the cabinets, but the drawers and stuff. Getting all that lined up properly and put together when it's got, you know, two or three different sections, an open section. I'm trying to remember, I know I've done my repairs or in battle. It always seems like something needs to be fixed, put together, or repaired at the house. But nothing really stands out that I really floated over. It's just, you know, it needs to be fixed to fix it. And that's all I can think of at this time. Sorry, I'm just not coming up with anything. Alright, N9OSU. Not to worry about it. KC2, PKG. Bringing that Ikea stuff together, I found one of the neatest tricks was to take the Allen wrench that they give you and saw it off, saw the curved part off, the bend in it off, and then put it in a drill or a driver. And then things go much faster. I'm turning that little Allen wrench. Alright, KM4QBC. You do a lot of repair and restoration, Jeff. Council, what's one project, or two if you want, that you're particularly proud of, that you really think you did a great job? It's over to you. KM4QBC. This is KC2, PKG. KC2, PKG, KM4QBC. Well, great. One thing that came to mind, my wife and I both worked on this, like Josh was talking. My grandpa's old house was a really neat place for me to hang out. I had a CB radio in there. That's before I got into ham radio. Anyway, long story short, the old house was just a plank-mored house, you know, back in the mountains. And a big tree fell right through the middle of it, so we salvaged what we could out of it. And I got all the windows and doors. And my wife and I, I still got a bunch of windows that are the way of the house when I first got them, but we sanded these window panes down into the old six panes. They got six panes in them, and you know, the glazing and all that. So we redid those and repainted them, and we put pictures of our family in there and hung them on the wall. So we're really proud of those, and it's really a special thing. Plus our Volkswagens. My son and I are working on an old bug now, so pretty proud of that one. That's you, Gray. That's a couple. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7 November-November. I thought you were led with the Volkswagens. Is that the one you're working on now? Is it the black bug? Back to you just for a second here. KN4QBC. The black one was actually done by somebody else, but you know, a Volkswagen's clear there's always something in there to work on. So, excuse me, we have done a little work on the motor, done a little work on the interior. Used to touch it up to make it a little better than it was, you know. So the next thing I'm going to do is just a little more work on the motor. I'm thinking I'm going to put a new carburetor on there and probably a new Kilo. So, just to make it a little sharper, because I'm going to start driving it to work this time of year, when hopefully it starts to cool down. And next month or so, after August anyway, I'll be driving it to work in the day and in the night. Can't drive that thing in the summertime, it's just so hot. You can drive it in the evening some, but it's just so hot here in the summer. It's hard to drive in that time of year, but it's fun at certain times, but when it gets up at about night and you're in that thing, you're like being in a sauna, I guess. You can't wear the work clothes down the road and be all sweaty and going into work there. Anyway, back to you, KN4QBC. KN4QBC, Volkswagen repair guy. It's good. I think Volkswagens are really cool. And I could kick myself for when I finally ended up in a car that I didn't have a Volkswagen van. I mean, they're the coolest. They really are. And I think back on that time I was thinking, oh man, I went out of the hotel room. Wherever I went, you know, I didn't need to sleep inside, I could sleep in a car. Which is a fun thing when you're a kid to do. Maybe not so much now. Any of YQJ, Ralph, are you out there? We're asking people what is a project that they've worked on where they restored or repaired something and they're particularly proud of it. Ralph, hey, YQJ, over to you."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-06T04:35:31+00:00","id":14425,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14424,"text":" AA-4-H-O KM-4-QBC, KM-4-QBC N-9-O-F-U, November 9, Old Swazilandor BC-1, W-O-N, in the shower, checking in"},{"callsign_confidence":0.98,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-05T04:53:48+00:00","id":14216,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":14215,"text":" And that's the best practice. I'd go to A4A0, and then you get back to me. Yeah, I mentioned I like oysters. Just, you know, now I'm a little more cautious than I used to be because of the bacteria that can grow and that you can get so sick. They have actually fatalities from people who have ate oysters infected with the bacteria. And I think if they're out of the water for a certain period of time, the bacteria grows. So the longer it takes to eat them, the more bacteria accumulates on the tissues of the animal. They're wet by valves. Great, though, for nourishment. There's a lot of protein otherwise. And if they're cooked really good, the bacteria comes off of them and dies. So I guess you need to really boil them. And I've actually got oysters and got little pearls out of them. Doesn't necessarily have to be anything special for an oyster to form a pearl in it. In fact, I bit down on one, and I was really disappointed that I didn't get the pearl. It was too late. I crushed it. And I always regretted that. I wish I wouldn't have bit down so hard on it. Let's see. I have a oyster rolex day just, but that's not really what we're talking about. Let's say I can't remember much more about oysters that I could mention about a lot of other seafoods, that ones that are similar to oysters are clams. And I used to eat clams here in Florida because I used to have clams in Sheetshead Bay. So when I would get home sick for Brooklyn, I would go get some clams here. And that would help because it would remind me of Brooklyn. It will be a requirement for public activity to be curvaceous before some folks make the decision to continue to score the ball. But I have to ...\" This is Kay and 4LBF. This is Dee. I have a comment Russell. Hey get away with your comment. Russell yesterday a lot of people were having problems getting on and off of the All-Star and all that stuff. I don't know if that's affecting all of these people today. So I just want to let you know that. This is Kay and 4LBF. This is Dee. Alright, is that Dee? Well, I'm going to go back up some next. I'm trying to think of that next. That's that new person. Hey 4LBF, what was it? Raspberry? And hey, what you giving to me? I have a question. Yeah, you were up. Did you get back to me? I went to high school with a fella named George Bosque. I remember he was working for Brinks. He was one of the armored car drivers. Or security. I don't know if he was driving or not. He took from the armored car almost 2 million dollars. I remember this well. I remember him well in high school. And after graduation, I remember hearing in 1980 that after he took the money he went on a coast to coast spending spree. And he ended up passing away from possible drug overdose. And all the money was spent. But they say he was captured and was sentenced to 15 years and paroled. So he served time and he got out. And I guess that was after the suicide. I didn't know that. I just heard the part where he stole the money and then passed away. I don't know if this story is right then or not. Because it's the same person. But this story seems to have changed. But I guess honesty is the best policy. At least as far as he was concerned. So all I can say about finding money is it's probably best returned. Unbelievable. You should ask the Canadians how they did it. Because they have strict limits on when you can run political ads. And I don't know if it includes long signs, but they don't suffer the way we do for years. I think it can only start like a month before the election or something like that, and then it's all gotta come down. But we can hear that from a Canadian. But not Ron, A-A-4-H-O. Unless they have any opinion on that. Ron, how would we get money out of politics? And should we? A-A-4-H-O, it's over to you. This is KC2, B-K-2. Yeah, we elect our officials to balance the budget. And of course, you know, that money has to be, you know, transparent. We have one of the most transparent administrations that we've ever had. I mean, I can pull up all the videos that went on in the White House with the entire cabinet and other people that were invited at the meeting and find out exactly what they're planning and what they're doing. As far as having, you know, signs out, you don't get a sign like if you support, say, a governor, unless you make a contribution to his campaign, and they'll send you a sign. I've done that before. And then I put the sign out for the two types that they were, you know, the ones that were, the one, the second type for re-election. Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security have never been stronger. All of those programs have been redone so that they're gonna operate now the way they were supposed to, and in some cases, as good as they could have possibly run, like Medicare, where the National Health Care Act was being tapped for unnecessarily for different things that they shouldn't have been paying out for. And Trump had that working really good in his first administration because I had all kinds of benefits from my Medicare. And after Biden got in, I lost all of those. And even my maximum health, maximum out-of-pocket went through the roof. I will know more at the beginning of the year. And also for regular health care. In fact, the price for the monthly benefits should go down. I know my property taxes are going down next year. I know that my pro-mobile insurance is going down for the next time I renew it. And this is all because we have people that are, we've elected that are taking care of the problems that we've said we wanted to address. That's why we elected you. And the people that couldn't run a lemonade stand are out. And they're gonna be out maybe for the count, I hope. And it's looking good. We need the people in Washington that are handling our legal minds that have been assembled. I followed a lot of them. I'll tell you, I knew how to pick them. I was following them without knowing they were gonna get picked for this administration. And it's like I feel I know them personally, believe it or not, a good part of them that Trump picked. And at the time, I just thought they had the right idea. I wasn't the only one, apparently. Keep the money to the people that know how to make it work for us. AA-4-H-L, Ron Muehl, Muffler Artifact. I heard AA-4-H-O, that'd be one, that'd be Florida. The NUTI, Georgia, KC-2, PKG, that'd be Gray up in Maine. They're going to run our KN-4, L-V-F, and that's D-N-D. I'm doing this off memory, so I'm trying to remember, I think you're in Florida. I could be wrong. Anyone AI who's in and out, thank you for checking in this morning. And WZO-G-L, Alan, who's also in and out, thank you for checking in this morning. So, yeah, I figured we'd get started, and I'm going to use this first program as a recap for everybody who's waking up to get on the net. That'll give Larrin, Gray, and Dee a chance to tell me about their morning so far and what they have planned for the day. This and that, I've been doing a lot of thinking about, and I think it's going to change over the next few months as I start implementing new things. We'll talk more about that as we go. But it is a beautiful Friday morning, so no sort of Mondays or Fridays. You made it to Friday so you can get back, sit back, relax, and get ready to enjoy the weekend. So with that, we're going to move to AA-4-H-O, and let's hear what Larrin has to tell us this morning. Good morning. Yeah, good morning, Josh. Good morning to everybody participating in the call upon getting on the G-drop. Yeah, I got a big dinner tomorrow. Thank God it's Friday. Looking forward to this weekend and that big dinner tomorrow night. I got a pipe, and it was actually too small for it to work. Well, it wasn't really, you know, the size didn't matter, forgive the pun. It was the connector. It didn't fit in there, and it's a stepper motor. And the stepper motor I got had four wires, and the plug was five. So I reordered it, and this morning I'm going to get that, and I think that's going to solve the problem to fix this device. I'm trying to get working again. Pretty much I was on for an hour this morning with Dan and Columbia, and I talked for about an hour. I'm going to keep this short, give other people a chance to talk more. If you weren't able to catch the conversation with Dan this morning, we covered several really neat topics in the pre-med. It was interesting. I think you missed out if you did. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 64, Quebec November. Gold star note 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. AA-4-8-0, KJ-5, IOQ. Well, you were coming in pretty choppy there at the end. I don't know if it was just me, or if it was everybody. I'll pause and let Gray or somebody else chime in to make sure it wasn't just me. But you were pretty choppy, and I didn't catch the end of that. I don't know if it was me or D, because I know you two are on the net. Did y'all hear the same thing? Yeah, I heard him cutting out from time to time, especially towards the end. Thank you very much, Gray. So there's our confirmation run. So it isn't just me. So no big deal. I could make out most of what you were saying. It was just popping out of the way, kind of like me just hitting the C-T button. So I thought that might let you know, and maybe you could work on that between now and next door. With that, I'm going to send it over to AA. I'm sorry, I'm going to send it over to KC-2-PKG. And let Gray tell us about his beautiful morning, I'm sure, up in Maine. The mic is yours, sir. AJ-5-IRQ, this is KC-2-PKG. Good morning. I'm wishing you well on your first Friday. First of many, I hope. It is a very pretty morning here. It's a little warmer than I like. It's going up to 78 degrees. But other than that, it's going to be clear and sunny. The only fly in the ointment is that we are only four in right now. Only four cats in. One stayed out. Lizzie stayed out all night and has not shown up for breakfast yet this morning. So not time to worry yet. I mean, she's been gone as long as four and five days. But we like to have them in. We did not get them all in last night. So that is a big problem. Anyway, I will pass it back to you, PG-5-IRQ. This is KC-2-PKG. Well, my wife and I both said, oh no, we hope the end of the cat comes in. I'm sure it will. You have mentioned before though that the main words, eat the cats. I think that was your wording. So that's concerning. But it's our honor to have a few cats over ourselves. We have a pair of white cats. Charlie and Alfred is what they ended up getting called. In fact, I need to snatch them up and get them down to the vet and get them snipped. They are right up to that age for that now. But they are the neighborhood Bruiser Brothers. They tend to stay together and they pretty much run the neighborhood now. So you know, these young teenage cats, about the only cat they don't necessarily know is our old cat, Knox. We've had that cat for many, many years. He is a big old cat. I don't think there's a cat in town that will miss that old fella. But anyhow, I really hope the cat is tired. Thanks for joining us this morning. It sounds a bit warm up there for you. I'll figure it out right here shortly. With that, we're going to go over to KN4LDF. We're going to give Dee a chance at the mic. Good morning, Josh. This is KN4LDF. This is Dee. I, of course, every day wake up and I'm grateful that I was allowed to wake up. It's beautiful outside. I'm going to tell you a story about my cat. I had a cat and I first named him Puss in Boots. He wouldn't answer to it. So I went and called him Pussy. He answered to that. So one time he ran out the house and I went screaming his name all over the place. And everybody in the neighborhood, it's a small town, came out the door to see why I'm screaming Pussy. So it's a funny story, but it is the dark gone truth. I named him. He was registered as Pussy. And when I went to the doctor, they went in. When they called me in, they say, OK, we're here for Pussy. So, hey, that's a funny story. But he lives to be 14 years. So back to you, Josh. KN4LDF. KN4LDF? I might get a little speechless at the moment. That's unheard of. That word you can get away with saying on ham radio without getting in trouble in a proper context. I wonder if I can work out some of my other colorful words. Probably not. But that is a hilarious story. Thank you for sharing that this morning. So, man, I'll tell you what. Getting going this morning is rough on me. I guess I need to put my thoughts together, which is OK. How much better is it I said? But I ate a few things I thought I probably shouldn't have. Not with my digestive stomach issues that kill me. Anyhow, I had some dog talk last night. I probably ate a few pieces too many. I don't eat it often, so when I do eat it, I eat it well. They're not herky nuggets. I don't want to go buy those. But they're just perfect little mouth-sized bites of perfectly sweet dark chocolate. I don't care if I let milk chocolate or some of the other stuff they got. Just a plain, solid milk chocolate. Man, I don't know if I'm talking about dark chocolate. It tastes so good. It's cheap chocolate. Herky's is not extravagantly rich chocolate. But, man, it's the spot maneuver you're in the mood for. Anyhow, the chocolate doesn't work well with my acid reflux and all that other stuff I'm dealing with. So, what I've learned is when I do that to myself, it doesn't just make my belly feel bad the next morning. It really makes you foggy. It's funny. I'm learning that when my stomach is in great shape, my brain is in great shape. That's why I'm not interested. I thought I'd share that. Alright, we've come to the bottom of the first grow out. We're going to do another round of check-ins before we actually get going. One of the things I think I'm going to do is bring that. It's been the first 15, 30 minutes just getting check-ins. See, everybody's doing their thing. Grady kind of does something similar. And then we'll kind of get started right around the 7 o'clock hour. I feel like we'll have more of a good lineup of people who want to talk. And today's topic is all about the cow bungenet. So, to let you know in advance before we get going, and nobody needs to answer it yet. And I meant to post this and I just don't have a habit down yet. So, I have hard ends when I post something early. But really, the question of the day is this. What brings you to the cow bungenet? Let me hear why you come to this net every morning. We'll come here a couple of times over the EECO just once a month. Here we go, I would like to know what brings you here. What are you enjoying? What are you not enjoying? We're going to do some follow-ups with that."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-08T05:23:49+00:00","id":15173,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15172,"text":" OK, nothing hurt. We're going to leave him tentatively on my list. I'm here to help him back. So what we have on the list so far this morning is AA-4-HO and KC-2-PKG, KN-4-LDF. We had a couple of in and out. V-1-WIN, LA-5, VMA, and then tentatively KV-0-MA. So that's not the first big round of initial check-ins. I'm going to stop moving on and we'll take a few more check-ins here shortly. But let's get on to the main part of the net. So I am glad you all have made it to the cowabunga net today. It is my first Friday at net control and my fourth attempt total at net control. So if I make a mistake or two, I think it's to be expected. A man once said never apologize in advance and I've already done that. So we can see that that is over. So let's kick it off by asking the question of the day. I will start getting in the habit of posting these in advance like he does. I think that's fair. It gives everybody time. Well with that being said, the question of the day is what brings you to the cowabunga net? Let me hear why you've come to us this morning. Did you come daily? I'd like to know why. What brings you back all the time? Did you come weekly or monthly? Or if you don't love me at all? I'd also like to know why. Good or bad? We really don't care. We really like to know why. That's how we can kind of form the net and kind of make these nets more engaging for you, the participants. I'm not really doing the net control because it's fun for me, although it is. I do it for you guys and girls. I am generally interested in doing a lot of what y'all are doing and I would like to know as much about it so y'all really care. That being said, we will go ahead and move up to AA-4-H-O. We'll ask Juan one more time the question of the day. Juan, you come here every day and some days you have some battles and some days you don't. You have one of those perspectives that are quite different from most of the other people on the net, kind of like myself. So, with that being said, why don't you come to the net, buddy? What do you get out of it? What do you enjoy? What would you like to change? And that's all we're going to do for the first question. So with that, we're going to send it to Juan. AA-4-H-O, this is KJ Fab. IAP, the mic is yours. Again, Josh, good morning to you and everybody participating in the cowabunga net on the two truck van. I wanted to keep it short because I was on previously and I know I was cutting in and out. And I want to get back with you real quick, Josh, to find out if I'm in solid now because I switched over to the backup. I mentioned that I had a conversation this morning and I talked for a long time with Dan, the retired physician, that lives in Columbia now and we had a nice conversation and if you hadn't caught it, you had missed, I think, something real good. And we had it left open that anyone could have participated in. So how is this coming in now, Josh? My friend, you're covering the end almost crystal clear. No popping, no breaking. You're appropriately readable. Yeah, great. Now let me get on to the question. Thank you for that, Josh. I did say this a few times before about why I am here every morning. I do think that there's something special here going on and that's one big thing that brings me back here every day. You know, before I start listening, his head swells up and you can't get it out through the front door. That is actually a secondary thing. The primary reason actually, to put it simply, is that it just fell right in line with my schedule. And I get to, since I get up early in the morning, beyond here and the time that I have before my day starts really getting going, that time just goes by quick and I don't have to go looking for something to do. And the fact that this is a net that I feel is very worthwhile and special. There's a side effect besides. And this is something I've said before. Okay, Josh, that's the answer to your question this morning. I'm going to turn it back over to you, Ron. AA-4 or AA-2, you're referred. AA-4, AA-2, this is KJ-5. Hi, OQ. Well, that's good. Special net. I agree with you. This is a special net. I have been looking and listening to a few other ones. I was thinking part, I didn't think part of the outcome of that for a while. I started logging in and just saw something for a while before I could check in. And I agree so far, it is a wonderful kind of net. We're going to take the question and we're going to pose the same thing to Gray. And I am sure that Gray is going to have some very interesting answers on this question. Being in that controller for this net, he does have the flexibility to change things on his net. So I'm sure he has a different perspective, especially since that's lately. Actually since I've been on, which I guess is like before long enough, I've been on it the whole time, you know, about eight, nine months worth. His question is, is the question of the day always on the page? His segments are what I'm calling them, are always engaging. And he does some things on every of them that I've not heard of people doing, like interviewing people and things like that, which I found fascinating. So with that, Gray, we're going to pass it on to you. Tell us, you know, what brings you back to the Cabo net? Why do you like to host it since you are a net control host? And what made you decide to make your net the way that you made it? Your question is a little different because you are a next controller. And I'd just like to get that perspective from you. KJ5, I want you over to PCH. Located in Shelton, Washington. This is KJ5IRQ. This is KC2PKG. A little administrative at first. When George checked in, he said he was going to be in and out. So you don't have to, I don't think you have to keep calling him. The other thing is you got somehow, magically, you got Raynold from Tronheim, which we don't hear from him a lot. And it's always cool when he gets on. Talk about unique perspectives. It's an interesting guy. I come back every day and listen on Sundays. Because I really want to know why people think the way they think. It's an old story. But we, when we moved up here, it was very early in, well it was actually the beginning of the surprise Trump administration. And I was totally caught off guard. I never thought that guy would get a vote. I thought he was a joke. But he got voted in. And I suddenly realized that I don't know much about my own country and people in it. I know about the people in my circle, but I don't know about anybody else. So, now I live way, way, way north and east. And it's, let me drop it for a second. Okay, AC2, the AG return, hopefully briefly. And, I called it, when I first got here, it was Radio Deadland. I mean, I scanned every repeater. And there's at least 20 repeaters. And there's nobody talking on them at all. So that didn't really, that wasn't very exciting. And I couldn't find out what people were thinking that way. So I jumped back on Echo Link, which I used a lot in New Jersey. And somehow I stumbled across the Dew Drop Inn, which was there at that point in time. The net, Cow Bung Anet, was only an hour long. And it has lengthened throughout that time to now at least two and a half hours every day. It's my radio club. You guys are my club members, or the other club members. And even though I belong to two, they really never do anything. It's the activity and the traffic on this net that really sets it aside. It's a great thing. It is a great thing. And I'm constantly selling, saying, you know what, you need to hook up to a conference server. You got all these dead repeaters here that don't do anything at all. Put a conference server on there. So that there are people talking. There are people to interact with. I'm not a great salesman, I guess. Anyway, and okay, I'll drop it one more time. You shouldn't ask. All right. This time I am returning only briefly. This is KC2PKG. I started changing around my net because I wanted to do things that were different. I wanted to push the envelope. And I've got a bunch of different ideas. I usually try them out first, see how people react to them, get their honest opinion. And then I go back, I've got a pop quiz coming up Monday. That'll be the activity. But I think people like crosswords. Some people like 20 questions. The interview thing is great, but I've run out of people to interview. I had a whole bunch of people who said they're just too busy during the summer and it's too early in the morning for them. So I'm trying to figure out how to time shift it. So that we can keep doing that because I think people really enjoyed it. And I'm constantly looking for new ideas, new ways of doing things. So I challenge you, man. I am challenging you. Do something new. Surprise everybody. Anyway, back to you. KJ5IRQ, this is KC2PKG. KJ5IRQ, this is KJ5IRQ. And you can like me, I would say, especially in the quietness around local regions. We have a local coordinator on the left. Hello. I've never been on a radio, which has not been very loud. I've never been truly active, active. So I'm going to try to get you guys to come up here. I'm going to try to get you guys to come up here. I'm going to try to get you guys to come up here. I'm going to try to get you guys to come up here. I've never been truly active, active. Now there's a guy on there I get on on. He used to get on and talk to a lot. But he recently got his general license and got on the scene with my advantage and some other things that I'm not into. And at the moment, I don't get to talk to him as much. There's another little old man on there. He's a retired veterinarian. He's a really cool guy. But he also runs a ranch. We all don't understand ranches in Texas. Back in the 80s, we had a sort of land of the cow, 200 to 1,000 acres, making the land of hundreds and thousands of cows. I think he said he had around 150 acres, 100 acres, something like that. And it's similar to going to town. And he runs a town on the Pat. But he's a 70-something-year-old man, if I remember right. And he's out there working that ranch every day. So he just doesn't have time for him radio. He jumps on in the middle of the day when he is speaking one of his kids to run up or something like that. And then once in a while, hundreds of thousands of years, his wife has already been down. He takes a camera also. The other guy that was on our repeater, he died. So in the summer, there's no activity on the local DHS repeaters at all. There is something called the North Texas Central Connection. I believe that was in the NCTC.net. I believe it's a website. It's really cool. It's about 40-ish or so we've been as linked up all across Texas. Huge network. It's fairly active. The problem is that it's not going to interfere with people. I mean, they give you a hard time or hear your signals off. They give you a hard time about a lot of things. And then you're going to turn me off. So I don't get on there. It's really sad, too bad, because there's a lot of good people that I hear talking on there. And maybe I'll get back on it again one day. But I don't get to read as much. I stick with all story and echo and run out. That seems to be where I need to be. And so that's where I'm focusing my focus on. You and that stuff, it's really good. I'm going to take a real quick break. One hour over, Archie goes through an extended Friday. He is to firstly and slope. Entering a radio, I guess you can call it 3.0, and see who passes you the point on that. I mean, guys and girls, we have a dying hobby. It's up to us to keep it alive. If we don't change at the time, the radio's not going to occur, seeing more than what it is. And so that concerns me. I really enjoy it, like I was telling my wife yesterday, recording on your radio. It's the hobby that you can never even get bored in. If you're bored and you're also in a low-end, well, pick up an agent for it. Get you a general license and try that out. So yeah, I want to pressure her to hold some of this. I don't want it to be as big as that. I want it to be engaging. I want it to be something that everybody would like to be a part of. What's really good was people who want to purge the low-end radio. I'm trying to say that tactfully. Because I know there's a lot of people who want to keep things just the way it is, and that's pretty acceptable. I'm just not one of them. So with that, I'm going to send it to TK and 4LDF. Miss D, you're a little bit less new than I am. So I'm just interested to hear your take. Why don't you come to the car, what do you get out of it? Yeah, that. So the mic is yours. This is K and 4LDF. This is D. Josh, I'm going to tell you. When I first came into him, I had a serious thing called mic fight. Every time I picked up the receiver, I would go into a cold sweat. So I tried very hard, and because that was a problem for me, I got my license in 2018. I just stopped, just gave me a headache, I just got sick, pop up tasers, just talking out to people. And then I picked it up again, and my area is really silent where I'm at. There is nothing. So I decided to go into Echo Link. When I first tried Echo Link, it wouldn't work for me. I couldn't get it for about two or three weeks, and they wouldn't have started working for me until I figured it out. I was able to go into different rooms and nets. I downloaded a couple of schedules, and I started seeing interesting things. Let me reset, one moment. So then when I came into Do Drop In, I downloaded a schedule, and I really like learning from different places. I like to absorb, I like to learn things. I have an open mind. At least I believe I have an open mind. And I like different places' opinions, like Canada and England and different places, because that lets you understand where other people think about our country, our USA country. So by learning while other people think about you, and within ourselves. Within ourselves and this country is another thing. And I like the controversy, but what I do like about this specific here in Do Drop In is, it is still respectful if you have a controversial conversation here. You don't have derogatory expressions in here, which I appreciate, because if you come to that bullying and derogatory name calling and stuff like that, out probably would just not come anymore. That would not be my thing. But so far you guys have kept it respectful and common courtesy, which is very good. I appreciate that. So for me it's very critical for people to have respect, for me to stay in that particular room. And learning about other countries and where we stand today, different people's opinions really does matter. Because if you have an open mind you can learn something out of another person's opinion. And you can keep on the manure just by learning by other people's experiences too, I think. Well, I'm Miss Kay and for LBS, this is Dee. I was wondering if, and I don't think this is the case, and I was just trying to find if I'm wrong about it, but I don't know if anybody remembers SBS, the cryptocurrency exchange that a lot of wealthy people had invested in, and the CEO, Sam Bank, which he took their investments, and instead of buying them, the Bitcoin, and spent it on himself, and the money that people were getting from new people coming in was used to pay the Bitcoin, and the Bitcoin was used to pay the SBS, and the Bitcoin was used to pay the dividends from the older investors, which is what they call a typical Ponzi scheme, and what happens with every Ponzi scheme, eventually the money runs out, investors are paid their dividends and interest, and everything collapses. What Bank of Street did was make a lot of contributions to Democrats' owners so that they could have money to run their campaigns, and I was wondering if they ever returned any of that money because of the stolen money. What I understand, people that have stolen money and made contributions to charities, the charities had to return the money. I don't think so, and I'm doing some checking right now. Okay, Russell. There's some people getting on now, so good morning, Russell, good morning to everybody participating in the cowabunga net on the two drop-ins. I answered the question, I did bring up what Dale brought up, you know, if that money was drug money and they didn't find you right away, you had spent some of it. Could you imagine, you know, not even being able to return all of it? And who would you get to help you? I think I brought that out earlier because you committed a crime when you didn't, you know, return it to the police. Because you're supposed to. And you know, you could get a reward if somebody claims it. That happened many times with me working in a casino. There were, you know, hundred dollar bills, you know, people would lose. You know, you call Sierra One and tell them, you know, a hundred dollars at this location, I want to bring it into the cage, that puts you on view, you pick it up, carry it over. But like in a month or something, if nobody claims you, you get to keep it. Now I found a ring, a 14 karat gold, and you know, I properly returned it. And I think for property you have to wait three months. It was a beautiful ring, fit me perfect, fit my personality, everything. And I was able to claim it, nobody claimed it. As honest as I was, I wore it openly in the casino, you know, in case somebody would say, hey, that's my ring, you know, I would have found the owner and then returned it. So I did that. For headphones, I have been experimenting with them. I have two Green Devil with a boom mic. One, I actually had to return and they sent me an upgraded one and then I didn't want to wait and I bought another one. But the one that broke, it was only because it wouldn't turn on, but I can use it on my Kenwood. And they're really good received. I don't think they're as good as transmitters. These Steel Series, I have that up on Amazon right now. They have a bunch of models. When it gets around to gray, I come to mention which model that is in case I decide to upgrade and sound as good as him as he did. Because I have several choices and they have one here with a boom mic. But without a boom mic, it's only like $50. But I don't think it's as good as these other ones because there's one here for almost, a couple here for almost $200 and one like $300. So I'd like to know which model it is. I like the turquoise color $1,109 with a boom mic on it. I think it's Brutus with, let's see, is that a, yeah, it has a pickup, which is good. I could have trouble with Brutus, you know, 5.3 or whatever it is on one PC. It wouldn't hold it up and drop it a lot. These headphones don't do that. But I think that if you have a connection that goes in USB or in this case it's the other USB-C, the connection would be more solid. Maybe even I could walk away and not get disconnected when I forget. And I don't take my headphones off and walk too far away and then I got to reconnect. I'm supposed to take my handhelds with me if I walk away and take my headphones off. This is Ron, AA4HO, Miramar, Florida, back to us. Then, uh, that opens up a whole bunch of different possibilities. I'd be here, uh, Gerald's got that nice headset, he sounds so nice, you know, like, hey, and you know, it would be on order already, I'm sure. What? That kind of money isn't going to change me. I, uh, wouldn't have to be as frugal, I suppose, as I do. I've a house next door. I don't like to move, you know, I'd stay where I am. But I'd sure fix the inside of this place up like they did next door. I think that's going to be going up for sale again. Uh, they, it was really nice and, and, uh, the guy on the other side of that house bought it. And his, uh, daughters are living in it right now. But he's, uh, doing more work in it. All right, then Kevin, VA3, KKY, the honor falls to you of deciding one question we're gonna ask. You know the routine. Go ahead. Throw out a number 1 to 6. Okay, well, what I can do is throw the Google dice, so something like Google, read the number from 1 to 6. Four. Four? So, question four. All right. The question is, let's see, suppose you were offered the power to read other people's minds. Would you take it? And why? So, in a way, it could be good, it could be bad. I mean, you could be learning a lot of stuff that you don't want to know, whether it's about you and this person or other things. But if you had the power to read people's minds or could have the power, would you take it? So, we'll turn that over to you, Kev. Well, I suppose that I would. It would probably make me even more judgmental on second-guessing people because I kind of already do that anyway. And I rely totally on, you know, inner monologue and internal wit, you know, to decide what I'm gonna do. And I think that's a good thing. I don't even quit, you know, to decide about people already, so it would just probably be more intense. I just honestly really don't really believe in such things because I'm thinking if anyone can read minds, well, then it's very simple to settle. Tell me tomorrow's LOMOMAX numbers. I don't even play. Tell me about a horse that I could cash in on. You know, give me something tangible. Give me something legible. That's the thing with sidekicks is oftentimes they don't have any credibility at all to me unless they're already doing well. It would be the first thing that you would do. And if anyone tells you that they're psychic, just go up to them and punch them right in the face, kick them right in the ribs, step on their feet, and they're lying to you already generically because they should have been out of the way. Nothing should have already told them that that was coming. They couldn't even see that coming. So I'd have to be so, or I think I would be heavily skeptical of a lot of those things. So even like my atheism, I think honestly I've come upon it in terms of a logical awakening, you know, more than anything else. And I don't have any particular ESPs or anything like that. It certainly never comes in handy. It's never saved me. I always learn about things way after the fact, right? Like, oh, my brother was sick, and I wouldn't have never known. So if it was ever something useful, it's never been revealed to me. But yeah, go punch a psychic. And they didn't see it coming. The most simplest thing. The gala experience, I guess. Okay, I'll pass it back to you, Kevin. VA3KKY. VA3KKY KM1X. Well, I'm talking more, less about reading into the future. I'm talking more like just knowing what people are thinking. So that, you know, if you're working with somebody and you can hear what they're thinking as they're thinking it, so that if they're looking at you and saying, oh, man, this guy's a jerk, you get that. I mean, yeah, it would be predicting the future if you knew that, okay, you would read the mind of the president who's planning on, you know, starting nuclear war or something like that. But it wouldn't be the, you know, what are the lottery numbers going to be, since that's supposed to be all random. Darryl has texted me, so he's back. So let's go back to Darryl. V01UKZ. Darryl, the question is, suppose you have the opportunity to have the power to read people's minds. Would you take it? So you'd have like ESP, and you would know who's thinking what when they're thinking it. Is that something that you'd want to have, or do you think it could be detrimental, because you've learned some things you really don't want to know. Over to you, Darryl. Well, first off, I wasn't gone very long, and Kevin was, I think, directly after me, so I must have just missed my turn by that much. I just ran to the bathroom. But it depends, Kevin. If it was something I could shut off, you know, to go to sleep at night or something like that, I'd be down for it, because you wouldn't want just everybody else's thoughts coming into your head constantly. You wouldn't want that. It would become too overpowering. I think so, anyway. I think it would become overpowering. But if you could turn it off, then great. Or if it was sensitive enough so you could tune it to just one person, or if it was sensitive enough that if you were, you know, in your own apartment, it wouldn't, you know, it wouldn't keep flooding into your mind, because I think that would be just catastrophic if you could constantly hear what everyone was thinking. And I'd have some fun with it, too. You know, like, if I heard someone say, I heard someone thinking, oh, that guy's a prick or something like that, I'd be like, oh, so that's how you feel, isn't it? And they'd be like, well, what you say? And I'd be like, man, I just heard what you said. And then they'd be like, oh, did I say that out loud, or did I say it in my mind? And I'd be like, no, you said it out loud, man. Like, what the hell? I think that would be fun. But, yeah, like, you know, if you were in, like, it depends on the range, too, I suppose, you know? Because you don't want, you know, voices coming in from all over the city. You know, you'd need a range to this power, I believe. Like, you know, 50 feet, maybe. You know, you don't need to know what people beyond 50 feet are doing. I think it would just be a waste. And plus, you'd get too much on your channel. You know what I mean? It would be way too overcrowded. There'd be way too many voices coming in all at once. I don't know that you could even, you know, detect what was going on if you had way too many voices on the same channel, everybody trying to talk at once. But, yeah, that's my answer to the question, Kevin. If it was more powerful, or sorry, if it had a limitation, and or if you could turn it off, that'd be my only stipulations. Back over to you, V01UKZ. V01UKZ-KM1X, I could see that. I was thinking at the time that as far as limitations, it would be more like, okay, you think of a person. So, you know, pick a person, Oprah Winfrey, and you would just immediately be able to tune in to whatever Oprah Winfrey was thinking about at that time. You know, you were, so that, you know, it wasn't like everybody, you could just turn it on and off. You know, I mean, let's face it, especially guys, we have this great ability of just turning our brains off, just really not thinking about anything or anyone. I mean, you know, obviously if you're thinking about, you know, putting a boat in the water, well, that, you know, that's not gonna, the boat doesn't have a brain, so it's not like you're gonna be reading the boat's mind. But if you're thinking about a person, well, then all of a sudden you could tap into whatever they were thinking. But, yeah, it's cool. I mean, this is a fun question, I think. It can go down many different avenues, so feel free to go with it where you want. VE1, W-I-N, Peter, you have the opportunity to read people's minds. Would you take it? Over to you. I'm taking it, Kevin. I'm driving and I'm mobile, so have a good day. I'm clear. Very good. Have a good day. Drive safe. KJ5, IRQ, Josh, you're next. Do you think you would like to have the opportunity to read people's minds? Over to you. AM1X, this is KJ5, IRQ. No, I don't hear like my own mind. I don't want to hear nothing, right? Nobody else's. Yeah, that's a scary thought. No, thank you. My wife did the same thing. She heard the question and she goes, oh, no, I would not want that. No, I think we're all hypocritical and we put on a forking in front of everybody over what's really inside of our minds. It can either be a very joyful or very scary place. And so that's a personal thing and I don't need to know that. I did want to ask you a question. I believe last Friday that you mentioned you played D&D and I know you're interested in that and thought maybe you could tell us more about that. Whatever. I mean, it doesn't have to be now or nothing. It can be a different net. I just wanted to mention it before I forgot it once again. All right. With that, I'm sending it back to KJ5, IRQ, to K and 1X. Yeah, Josh, I think you asked me that this last weekend, too. It's something that I had never played growing up. Again, it was, its heyday seemed to come about in the late 70s, early 80s. I knew people that did, but I wasn't one of them. And probably three or four years ago, it was a local game store that was going to have a session for people who've never played before. It was like an introductory session. And I asked this buddy of mine, I said, look, if you were up by any chance to ever have played D&D or had any interest in it, there's this thing going on. I'm thinking about going, but I'd rather not go alone. And the guy's like, oh, my God, I love that plate that I got up. My brother and I, we were playing. We'd get our friends and we'd be up all night. I'd love to get going. I mean, I opened a Pandora's box. And now this guy just can't get enough of it. I mean, we play every five or six weeks. He's the dungeon master. He spent all of his waking time just on this. He's recruited a bunch of other teachers at the school that he works at. Even in the summer, they get together on Tuesdays at a game store and they play. It's kind of interesting, but it depends. I mean, different people get into it at different levels. I'm not into it that much. I just assume keep it to once a month, to be honest with you. But it is an opportunity to get out and meet other people. It can be very complex. And again, my interest level is not at the point where I want to be that complex. It would depend. If you've got a game store nearby, check it out. See if they have anything. It's worth looking into if you've got just a little bit of an interest because you could go to one of these introductory things and say, yeah, this is for me. It isn't for me. You'll know probably after an hour or two. So, yeah, it's worth checking out. All right. AA4, H-O, Ron. We're talking about the power to read minds. If you had the opportunity to read people's minds, would you want it? Over to you, Ron. I think I would. Let's see. Orson Welles, he was good at having people think of a number, you know, between one and ten. And he would be able to tell them, you know, what the number was. He would be a high degree of accuracy. He would be right about it or think of an animal. He'd ask a few questions that come with a little effort. And the skills also have to be learned beforehand. I have a little interest in that and I've followed some of them. And there's some things I've picked up on, not a lot, because I never formally tried to learn how to know what somebody's thinking or if what they're saying is deceptive or not. You don't necessarily need a lie detector test. I don't know if that actually falls into the category exactly of what the question is. Yeah, I don't think we'll ever be able to read somebody's thoughts. I don't think that. Yeah, I probably enjoy that. I don't have nothing. Are you going to surprise me at this point? I've seen just about everything. So I could be wrong about that. But I've been desensitized from my past experiences that it wouldn't shock me more. Of course, maybe if there were a serial killer that could be horrible to have to unsee something that you read their mind that they had done. So I certainly would avoid somebody like that. Anyway. Yeah, there's a lot of skills out there in this people who talk about it a lot that I've listened to. All right. So that control. A4HOKM1X. You got to have, I think, a thick skin before you agree to take something like that on because it could easily be something that you regret. So you'd want to give it some thought before you jump right in. But thank you for that. And now we're going to try to see if Jeff is still there. Km4GBC. If you could have the ability to read people's minds, is that something you would want to take on? Would you like to have that ability? Or would you just assume? Keep the mystery. Over to you, Jeff. Hey, Kevin. Km4GBC. Yeah, I think I'd take that. That'd be pretty cool. But I have to admit, Kevin, I already partially have that. I can partially do that now. And if you could turn it on or turn it off, like Ron said, some people are so crazy you wouldn't want to get in their head. Anyway, I have to be able to read people's minds a little bit at my work. Usually they're lying, I can tell you that. Anyway, it's good to hear what went on here this morning. I saw the cartoon that Josh put on Facebook there just now. That's really cool. I like that. That is neat. So anyway, Kevin, back to you. I'm still here for now. Mission accomplished on that first guy. He's going to be with us until Monday morning. He's a keeper. Anyway, back to you, Kevin. Km4GBC. Good morning, everyone. Km4GBC, Km1X. Well, sounds like you've got someone to take care of for the next couple of days. How does that work? When they're in the jail, obviously you've got to feed them and all of that. Do you guys have a cook? How does that all work? Do you do takeout? When the dude gets out, do you send him a bill and they have to pay for the food that they had and stuff like that? How does that work, Jeff? Well, it varies in different sentences, different charges and pretrial. Anyway, it varies in different ways, Kevin. But as far as the Poon goes, they have a company that brings in the food. And that's, you know, it's a big company. It's a big deal. They do probably four or five jails in different counties right here where I'm at. So it's a big outfit. I used to, they used a local guy and he would do all the meals for the jail. He had like a catering company, but he would, you know, just do the basics for the jail. But he got a little too pricey for the county. And the county got this other group that was doing the jail, the two jails in the counties that were beside of us. So they bring them in in paper boxes. And they have these containers, you know, that are nice, but they're disposable. And they have regular food, hamburgers, hot dogs. Sometimes it may just be a sandwich with some side veggies. But they've got a schedule that they have to go by and have to meet. So many, you know, certain rules they've got to follow about the nutrition and so forth. But this fellow was a domestic. So he got a fight with his family in North Carolina. It's automatically a 48-hour hold if you get in a domestic disturbance. It was pretty bad. So anyway, he's staying with us till the 48 hours runs out, which will be 7 a.m. on Monday morning. And I put his coordinate on Monday too, so he'll be going to coordinate 30. So anyway, they've got these different things, different rules they've got to follow. And they have a doctor and a nurse that they can see. There is a charge for that, but it's only like $3 and $5. And if they can't afford it, they get up there to see them anyway. And they're on call. So the nurses are there every day. They give their medication. So they do the intake with the meds when they come in. So they're pretty thorough about it, food allergies and all that kind of stuff. But yeah, while they're in custody, they're the responsibility of the sheriff. So back to you, Kevin Camp, for what you've seen. This is Repeater Station Kilo Avenue. Very good. Yeah, that was interesting. I've always wondered how that worked, whether they had like a kitchen staff or what. Because all I could think of was back in the old, you know, Andy and Mayberry. How did they feed them? And so I'm glad you were able to answer that for me. All right, go ahead, KC2PKG, back to the question at hand, which is dealing with the ability to read people's minds. You've been presented with the opportunity to do that, but is that something you'd want to have? Is that too much power? Could it backfire? Would you take it if you had the chance to read people's minds? Over to you, Gray. K.M.1X, this is KC2PKG. Yeah, with the proviso that you can turn it off. I think that's a really, really good suggestion there. And it was somewhat directable. I've always had trouble working out what people are thinking. Some people can look at another person's body language or watch their faces and stuff like that and really get a good handle on what's going on. Are they accepting what you're saying? Are you believing me? That kind of thing. I can't do that. I don't have that. I look at people's faces and I see a mass of app expressions, little lightning things that go on in their faces and stuff like that. So I'm not really good at reading people. And I wish I was better at it. I really do. So yeah, I would take that. I would definitely take that. With the proviso students, you can turn it off. You can't just let it out with what everybody else is doing. And it's somewhat directable. Like I have to look at the person or something like that and I could do it. I think that would be cool. And if you could turn it off with one bullet, just don't do it. So back to you, K.M.1X. This is KC2PKG. KC2PKG, K.M.1X. Now I think we stumbled upon what could make for a good story, a novel or a movie or something about the person that gets this ability and then all of a sudden they're discovering that there could be some serious drawbacks because they can't shut it off or the limitations aren't what they thought they'd be. And suddenly it presents some problems and some conflict, which you need in a good story. So yeah, I think we're onto something here. And Daryl was right when he touched upon that. Alright, who else is next here? Ask Gray, we go to Rick. K9VFD. What do you think, Rick? You know your life. You know some people that you might want to be able to exercise this power on, this new power if you choose to take it. But is it something that you would want? Would you like to have the ability to read people's minds? Over to you, Rick. Alright, well before I answer that, you said you wanted to ask if I did anything to my bike or whatever. And I'm playing with it. I'm trying to learn all the electronics, the infotainment system, the carplay, all kinds of stuff. But, and then I, we went on a pretty nice ride last Saturday. We wound up going out to Peoria the long way and then we took the long way back and we put on like 200 miles that day. And I decided that I wanted my feet up a little bit. I also wanted the handlebars closer to me so I ordered floorboard risers and then I also ordered handlebar risers. And while I was at it, I ordered a couple LED accent lightings. One both for the front, just some white light trim to finish out the bike and you know, make it look cool. I'm thinking about adding some sequential turn signals but it's a pretty elaborate job. You have to pull the wheels off and the fenders off. There's a lot of work involved in doing it. So I'm holding on by that. That could be a winter project. But as far as the reading people's minds, I'm going to go on a tangent with that. Because my dad, he was in telecommunications for pretty much as long as I can remember. And back in the old days, he was selling business telephone systems. And then by the end of his career, now they're doing Ethernet and fiber networks. And most of the time the contractors that he worked for were in the same union I am. Their local 134 IBEW. So anyhow, one of the things that he would do back, I mean these days I don't know a lot of times they're IP phones and they would do the same thing. But especially in the car dealers. He would get a car dealer and part of the system that they needed was a way for audio surveillance. So basically the systems that he would put in would be able to, you could go to a master station or whatever and actually listen in on that telephone extension. So basically the car dealers would, you know, they're trying to make their deal. They know they're getting close but they're just not quite there. The salesman will go, you know what, why don't you and your wife think about this. And I'm just going to leave for a few minutes and you guys can discuss what's going on here. And that's when the sales manager goes in and listens to the conversation and they can hear what they're willing to do to make the deal. So that's my take on it. And so you can do it. You can read people's minds but you have to use electronics to make that happen. But as far as me having the ability to know what my wife is thinking, oh my God. Especially when I'm being a dick. You know, it's all the week man. I was just no good. You know, I told her, you know, I'm not Rick anymore. Just call me dick. And that was my way of saying sorry. But anyway, I don't know if I want that ability. And you know, maybe with all the, you know, with my project manager acting the way he is, I want to know really why he's doing what he's doing. I think what he's trying to do is speed up production. And it's a way to, you know, it slows it down at first but then it gets things going maybe. I don't know. But anyway, so count me out unless I could turn it on and off and only use it as a, you know, all of a sudden, okay this is on demand. Okay now I want to know what you're thinking. So anyway, back to neck control. K-9 PFD. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo. K-9 PFD, KM1X. Well I would think yeah, yeah, I mean I'm not married but when it comes to spouses, do you really want to know what's going on? I mean there are times where a spouse might be like what is going on? What is he thinking? What is she thinking? But at the same time, you might get scared by it when you find out. So I don't know that I would recommend using it on your spouse for sure. But that's interesting about the car thing. I mean that's eavesdropping if you ask me. Or wire tapping almost. But I suppose if it was legal, it was legal. So it would be interesting to see if that would work if they still do stuff like that today. Let's see, George, KB0, MAI. George we're talking about having the power to read people's minds. And we'll let you interpret that any way you want. But is that a power you think you'd like to have? Over to you George. KB0, MAI. You know that two car dealership thing, I believe that is true. They're going to take any advantage they can. And I can see them doing that. So that's why I want to go into car dealership. I don't say anything to my wife unless we go outside and talk out there. But it's been a while. It's been five years since I've been to a car dealership. I'm very stiff neck when I go to them. You ever watch that movie, Bruce Almighty? He thinks he can do better than God. So God gives him all his powers and he's trying out new things. And all of a sudden he's starting to hear people all over the place in his mind. It gets worse and worse and worse. He's trying to clean out his ears because he thinks he's hearing things. And come to find out, God tells him, well that's prayers. You're God, you have to have the prayers. And he says, well how do you stand it? And God says, well I'm used to it but you only pick it up, the prayers from 40th street to 1st street, New York City or something like that. So you just get a small sample because you've got to start answering these prayers or it's just going to get worse and worse and worse. So I just sent out a typewriter. I guess this is his way of answering the prayers. And he just goes on and on and on. No matter how fast he works he just can't answer all the prayers. So finally he just grants everybody everything. For some reason I keep thinking about that movie when we're talking about this stuff. But I would say myself, no I don't need it. I read people pretty good. Not so much if they're on the air but in person I can read them fairly decently. I prefer that over hearing every thought that goes through their mind. That would drive me nuts. Hey Hal, I got done with all my road work, or yard work. And I've got to take a shower and get ready to get to the pool for my grandson. So eat some breakfast and all that kind of good stuff. So I'm just going to call it quits for the day. Everybody have a wonderful weekend and I guess I'll see you on Monday. JB0MAI. JB0MAI. JB0MAI. KM1X. Well it sounds like you got your work out of the way and it's still bright and early so you've got the rest of the day to play. Congratulations. I'm in the midst of chopping up onions and peppers to go into my spaghetti sauce as we talk about the question. And once I get all the chopping and stuff done then it's just a matter of cooking. And that should be alright. So I'm hoping to have this done by 10.30 or so. And then I can start my playing on the weekend too. Uh, D. KN4. LBF. You've had some time to think about the question, D. And as George said, I mean it does kind of give you some godlike abilities I would think. But is that something you would want if you could? Over to you. This is KN4. LBF. Um, I don't think I would have to, uh, not be soft in order to have it but I would like to have it. And just for, you know, for instance, um, you know, yesterday I had a really good conversation with a friend of mine and she was saying that her best friend, one of her girlfriends died a month ago. And she's been hanging with a crowd in her community since she's been here two years. And she, they all got together in one apartment to go to the funeral. And one of the ladies that she was hanging with said this to another woman, says, oh you see how she is like, you know what I said or whatever. But she heard and she turned around and she said, are you guys talking behind my back? And, um, she told me yesterday she was really devastated because she felt like she wasted two years of her life hanging with people that she thought cared about her. And it was a lie. They just was talking bad things about her. And I would say what's going on through your mind. And not only in reference to friends, family, nephew, nieces, whatever cases, it's just to know who is dishonest and honest with you. Who is selfish? Who is keeping two, three years of your life, 30, 40 years? I mean, I would like to set boundaries. And yes, I would like to have that ability because people are just not honest at all. And, um, I had another instance. I had a friend, let me reset, just give me a second. I had a friend that I thought was a friend of mine. And, um, her husband was my husband's best friend. And then she started hanging out with me. She started inviting me places and stuff to come to find out after four years of being what I thought was my BFF. She just wants to be in the same household to watch her husband. She didn't give two crap about our friendship. I was like, how can that be? How can people use other people like that? So, um, I have to say, yeah, I would like to know what's in your mind and I can have boundaries for I can, um, you know, just, um, make sure that I don't know. I just say yes. Anyway, back to you, Kevin. This is K and 4 LBS. This is D. Kevin 4 LBS KM1X. I think we've all been there, D, where we thought we knew someone and come to find out, you know, we didn't. They weren't the people that we thought they were. Um, that they didn't necessarily, you know, put as much weight on relationship as we did. And so you're right. That is a good thing to be able to have the ability to kind of root out before you invest a great deal of time and energy of your life on a relationship where the other person think about that. Just like when you were dating, you know, just this person like me, I really like this person. Do they like me as much as I like them? And just that whole awkwardness of getting to know someone. If you had the ability to know how the other person felt, think of how much pain that would have saved. So you brought up a very good point, D. Alright, let's go down to Ben, VE3, FBX. You've heard a lot of different viewpoints, Ben. And so we'd love to know what you think now. If you had the ability to read people's minds, is that something that you would want to have? Over to you. VE3, FBX. No, definitely not. Like Dee was saying, yes, people may try to use you or not have the same feelings you do, but that might be a temporary thing. There's a lot of temporary thoughts that enter a mind. I also think there's a lot of dark thoughts and dark minds and I would want to get dragged into seeing all the dark thoughts that people have. Maybe short lasting, maybe a long lasting plan they're working on. I just don't think it would be a fun place to be. Back to you, Kevin. VE3, FBX, KM1X. Well, I like going back to what Dee said. It was a case of an individual that you thought much more of and you thought it was both ways, but it turned out not to be. We all have people in our lives that we kind of more or less put up with. And there may be someone that thinks, oh my gosh, this person is great and we're really good friends when in fact we're just tolerating them more than anything, trying to be polite. So it could get turned on us as well. But that's a good point. Alright, Bill. N9, OFU. What do you think? You had some time to think about this. Is this something that you would want to have the ability to do? Over to you. Alright, well I just read your mind. I knew I was next. So maybe I already have it. I've always thought that would be an interesting trait to have because then you could say more or say less based on what the other person was thinking. So you wouldn't get in trouble or you would know if you were getting somebody upset so you could shut your mouth and stop talking. But I think it would be more trouble than it would be worth. I do like the idea of being able to focus it so you wouldn't hear everything and then be able to turn it on and off. Because sometimes it's better not to know what the other person is thinking. Because like you said, there are times when I look at someone and I think to myself things that I wouldn't say out loud. And there's a reason for that. Because your body has a difference mechanism. And sometimes we make snap judgments that aren't in our best interest. And then after a little while you completely change your mind. So if someone just read your first thoughts, they'd be totally off the mark. So I think the way it is now is probably better. So I would have to go with no, I don't think I'd want to have that ability. Even now I tell myself, I'd want to know if someone was lying to me or not lying to me or something like that. But I think I'm probably better off without it. Alright, and I know if you're back to the cam 1X."},{"callsign_confidence":0.94,"confidence":null,"created_at":"2025-08-09T07:00:26+00:00","id":15405,"node_number":"oldsys","recording_id":15404,"text":" When I lived in Washington, D.C. about 20 years ago, when I would ride the subway, and this was after 9-11, you'd have a lot of Middle Eastern people and they'd be talking and I thought, you know, that would be interesting to be able to speak Farsi or whatever their language was, to just sit there and listen to what they were talking about, because that's such a hard language to learn and B, it's not one that a lot of people even want to learn, that if you could have that ability, it could be very interesting. But again, what happens if you hear something you really don't want to hear? Now all of a sudden you're involved in something. There's a plot line for a movie right there. So, yeah, that's interesting. Alright, look at the clock. We've got to start the 73 round, so we're going to go back up to the top of the list and try to wrap this up. So we're going to go to Darrell first, V01 UKZ Final Comments for the Saturday morning. November Quebec November, All Star Node 6222, located in Shelton, Washington. There you go. My phone was locked in my pocket. I just got the headset on, I'm standing outside here. There's Burn and One, you know, good Saturday morning toke, you know, first thing in the morning. Really enjoyed the night, Kevin. I got to say, it was definitely a good one. And Shadow wants to come out. Come on, bud. Meow. He's got a strange little meow. He's a big old cat, but he's got this quiet little meow to him. It's kind of strange. Anyway, just like to invite everyone to stick around for the Worldwide Friendship Net, which is coming up next here on Do Drop In. I will go ahead and disconnect Michigan for the time being because I do assume we will probably run over. Which is cool. You know, we have as much time as you do, Kevin. So yeah, I'll just say 73 then. Again, great net. V883. V883, KM1X. Well, it went by fast, I'll tell you that much. And yeah, I'm just sitting here at the stove, so I am, I got time. And we're glad you were able to join us, bright and early this morning too. So, come again! You all come back now, you hear? V883, KKY. Kevin, final comments from you. Hey, yeah, it was a lot of fun today. I had a lot of fun on the net. We'll look forward to hearing the events of the Nauternet controllers. Ready to take the helm. And yeah, my ex-girl Vicki was really annoying with what she thought she knew. A lot of times our fight was just that, right? Because I would get irritated and just belt her really hard. And say, well, I guess you didn't see that coming, did you? And you know, sometimes I would punch her right in the ribs. Knee her right in the chin. You know, when she was trying to pick something up. My favourite was just hitting her while she was in the middle of talking. I just liked that, right? Because she would get all uppity and obnoxious. So then suddenly she would be talking and then squealing and screaming when she gets punched in the ear. And then I'm like, I bet you didn't see that coming. And I think years later she told people, well, I guess I was wrong in a way because I didn't see the abuse coming or whatever. So yeah, that was years and years and years ago. I tested it on her beliefs too. Like one day I squeezed her neck real hard. I said, what invisible man do you believe in now? So, I said, if you really believe in an invisible man like that, why is he letting me squeeze your neck? So, you gotta challenge people on those things, you know what I mean? Otherwise they're just half cocked. And I think later on, when she was in another relationship, they were tired of her supposed clairvoyance. So, she got smashed in the head with a beer bottle and had to get stitches. I bet you didn't foresee that, slut. So, there you go. That's what you do with mind readers. Seriously. Test these people. Don't just let them always be like half cocked all the time. And test a believer. Alright, well I believe I better get up out of here. But you guys have a good fat day. And we'll look for you on Sunday, alright? Because it's Saturday today. Saturday, Saturday. Take care, Kevin. VA3KKY. VA3KKY KM1X, you have a good rest of your day and weekend. And maybe we'll talk to you tomorrow morning. Now we're going to go down to Josh. JJ5IRQ. Final comments from you today, sir? Alright, alright. Good morning. I am finally fully awake at the end of the day. Believe that or not. It is 8.50 here. I have done a few things honestly. I dug out my Ender 3 3D printer. I haven't used it in a while. And actually I'm really thinking about selling it. I've been back and forth on it. But me and my wife talked about it yesterday. And she might want to take a crack at my hand at this finally. So, yeah. I'm setting that back up this morning. It's the Ender 3 Max Neo. It has a custom, not custom, but it has an aftermarket into extrusion. Do you like jabs? So it's just about all those little weird things that used to come on these things. So, yeah. I guess I could have made it look great. But today is still a good printer. So maybe you could put this in if you can figure this darn thing out. I've done a few things on it. I did a little bit here and there. I came up with a CNC router for it. It's basically a 3D printer but it's for work. It's just cards rather than prints. And I used that for, gosh, six, seven years. It was fun. But then of course I got bored of it. I traded it one for one for this Ender 3 setup. And it comes with a aftermarket Sonic pad too. It's pretty cool. It's like a little tablet that controls it so you don't have to have a computer to touch it. So anyhow, yeah. We're going to dig that out. I'm getting cleaned up right now. I'm going to hook it up and set it up for the life. And maybe in the next few years, in the next few years, longer than three weeks or four weeks or so, there's more of a big-time market place that we'll grow. I guess with that I will say 73's. That's the final product I think of today. Kevin, thank you for that. Thanks for hosting. And we'll leave everybody here again tomorrow. KJ5 IRQ, back to the next room. KJ5 IRQ KM1X. Well, good luck with the printer stuff. And thank you for joining us this morning. Hope you have a great weekend. Uh, Rowan AA4 HO. Now it's your turn for final comments. Over to you, my friend. Nancy Kevin. I have my trusty HT ready and these headphones time out. They've been on an extended period of time. They're going to cut off any second. You know, and then I've got to restart them and everything. So I've got my all-star ready just in case. Great net. And, uh, had a good time. The time went by really quick and there were some great questions. And, uh, it was really entertaining. I'll see everyone tomorrow, Sunday. And I'll have a report about, uh, if my, uh, stepper motor gets here, uh, before the net starts. But it might come tomorrow after. Uh, that's been an interesting project. It's taken me to places in electronics that I haven't been before. Uh, okay Kevin, I'm going to turn it back to you. This is Rowan AA4 HO Miramar, Florida."}]}
